Reviews for the Aorus X7 Pro
为性能不惜代价。 Aorus是第一个采用两块GeForce GTX 970M显卡搭建SLI的生产商之一。这台笔记本的性能和发热量都非常高。它的纤薄17寸机身能够承受这样的压力吗?

The Aorus X7 Pro easily stands out of the crowd of oversized gaming laptops as a much thinner and lighter machine. These rigs are often called desktop replacements not only for their size but also the amount of performance they can deliver. Recently, though, laptops have been getting thinner from Ultrabooks to workstations to gaming laptops - now, a 17.3-inch laptop has joined the trend.

The Aorus X7 Sync-Pro is close to being the ultimate portable gaming laptop. The incredibly slim notebook offers two Nvidia GeForce 970M GPUs that deliver a graphical punch that surpasses notebooks equipped with a single 980M GPU. You'll get blisteringly fast speeds, thanks to the pair of SSDs in RAID 0, and solid performance from the 4th-generation Intel CPU.

The X7 Pro is Aorus' latest gaming 'powerhouse'. It has a larger screen than the X3 Plus and a beefier configuration than the X7. If you can afford it, and if a noisy fan and overheating don't bother you, then the Aorus X7 Pro will give you high-power performance and allow you to play just about any game with the settings on max.

If you're after a larger than life desktop replacement laptop that can fire through all of your favourite games without breaking a sweat, Gigabyte's Aorus X7 Pro is well worth a look - just be prepared to give up plenty of desk space and dig deep into your wallet.

The Aorus X7 Pro is a stellar performer on the benchmark tests, there is no doubt of that. However, quality issues with its ergonomics, audio, and video keep it from a much higher score. Given that you're paying close to $2,600 for this laptop, you expect a great screen, keyboard, and touchpad to go along with the performance, and these are sorely lacking. The fan noise is inexcusable as well, kicking up to uncomfortable levels even in normal use and practically unbearable when gaming.

For the most part, the X7 Pro succeeds but stumbles hard while doing so. Thanks to the Nvidia dual 970M setup, this machine easily outpaces Alienware 18 I reviewed last July, a massive gaming laptop that costs nearly double the amount and is also twice as thick compared to Aorus' thin mobile gaming offering. Even the similarly priced MSI GT72 Dominator falls well short of the X7 Pro even with a Nvidia 980, the best mobile GPU on the market currently.

With the help of nVidia's recent push to make powerful mobile graphics processors that consume less energy, the Aorus X7 Pro now turns in gaming performance once only available to desktop machines. Just make sure you pack some sound-deadening headphones to block out the white noise of high-speed fans required to keep this slim chassis cool. If you can deal with the noise you'll be able to enjoy incomparable mobile gaming.

The Aorus X7 Pro offers top of the line performance in an unbelievably thin form factor. The slim design looks fantastic and moving to the Nvidia GeForce GTX 970M is a huge performance boost. But attempting to have the best of both worlds comes at a cost. The chassis is nowhere near as durable as its thicker counterparts. The thin design is also likely contributing to thermal issues as the constant hum of the fan can be loud enough to disrupt the user and break the feeling of immersion when playing games. The device is often hot enough to the point where it can’t be used as a “laptop.”

None of these industrial-strength gamers is designed to make more than the briefest trip away from a wall socket. In our strenuous video rundown test (playing a movie loop with brightness at 50 percent and volume at 100 percent), the Aorus outlasted the hapless Origin, but don't expect to get through more than a few cutscenes without running out of juice.

The Aorus X7 v3 doesn’t quite live up to the portability it promises when it comes to battery life, but it does still pack a huge amount of performance into a decidedly slim chassis, particularly where 3D graphics are concerned. The screen is an improvement on the first model, too, and there’s a reasonable quantity of super-fast storage. Even the sub-£2,000 price isn’t outrageous, considering the specification. If you’re after a fast, stylish entertainment notebook, the Aorus X7 v3 is an enticing bit of kit.

Aorus is determined to extend the life of its X7 chassis, and with good reason - this remains one of the trendiest 17.3in gaming laptops around. With the introduction of the third-generation X7 Pro, Aorus's familiar-looking machine ups the ante with an improved IPS display, a Core i7-4870HQ processor and, not one, but two GeForce GTX GTX 970M GPUs
