At the end of the day, I was quite disappointed with the iPhone 13 Mini. It just didn’t have the updates that I wanted to see, and that’s quite disappointing because I’m a huge fan of the form factor. The iPhone 13 Pro also didn’t feel like a generational update compared to the iPhone 12 Pro. And that means at the end of the day, the iPhone we would recommend getting is the regular iPhone 13. It’s the phone I switched to after I gave up on the iPhone 13 Mini’s battery life.

The iPhone 13 mini continues the legacy laid down by the 12 mini last year. It’s the best small phone you can possibly buy, outpacing anything Android can offer. Fans of smaller handsets will love this phone, as it fits in many a pocket. I can think of a few people personally who would appreciate that.

Rather than diving into all the new features that come with the latest software though, you can read our separate iOS 15 feature that offers a deeper breakdown about what's new, what's good, and what's less welcome. If you don't want a big-screen device then this handset is ideal. It's a true pocket powerhouse that's well worthy of your attention - if you can forgive the smaller battery life as the only compromise anyway.

Even though the design hasn’t changed much, the iPhone 13 mini is still a pretty device. I appreciate the smaller notch, even if Apple doesn’t take advantage of the extra screen space. But what I dislike is the lack of competitive fast charging and biometric authentication that works with masks. The latter is a serious lost opportunity. Despite the iterative improvements made across the board with the iPhone 13 mini, none of them obviate the annoyance of typing in my PIN while in public, and doing so again for Apple Pay. If you’re on an iPhone 12 mini, I don’t think that the 13 mini is worth an upgrade.

In many ways the iPhone 13 Mini is Apple’s best small phone yet. It couldn’t very well not be considering it has the newest processor, upgraded cameras (and the new Cinematic mode), more storage as standard, and a slightly bigger battery. The only things that hold it back are the shorter battery life than most other phones at similar prices (or less) and the price itself: this is no budget iPhone. If neither of those is a concern and you don’t want to save a bit by opting for the amazingly similar 12 Mini, then you’ll be very happy indeed with the iPhone 13 Mini. It’s worth heading to an Apple store or a phone retailer to try one out, though, just in case – like me – you find the keyboard a little too small for comfort.

The iPhone 13 mini is the best iPhone for those who want a smaller device on Apple’s iOS platform. In fact, it’s arguably the best small phone on the market right now. It’s powerful, the camera is top-tier, and the battery life is better than that of the iPhone 12 mini. It isn’t the best iPhone outright, but if you’re looking for a smaller device then you’re in luck.

Thanks largely to a 9.5% increase in battery capacity, the Apple iPhone 13 mini gained 3 points over the older iPhone 12 mini, although neither Apple device comes close to either competitor in the Premium category, the OnePlus 9 and the Samsung Galaxy S21 5G (Snapdragon). Battery capacity, tested charger, display type and resolution, and processor specifications for all four devices are shown in the table below. Because of its very small battery and 20W charger, the iPhone 13 Mini cannot offer much in the way of autonomy and charging. However, the device is well optimized and has excellent discharge efficiency.

It has the specs and the performance, and it is the most affordable of the new iPhones, starting at Rs 69,900 for the base 128 GB variant (the 256 GB model comes for Rs 79,900 and the 512 GB one for a massive Rs 99,900). But while price and performance are important factors, we think what will really decide its fate is its size. For that is actually its most defining feature. If you are looking for a classic iPhone experience, we would still nudge you in the direction of the iPhone 13. What makes the mini special, as its name indicates, is the phone’s size. However, it needs to be stressed that while the phone does come with some size compromises, using the iPhone 13 mini is a unique experience in itself. The small size will not bother those who are basically going to use the phone for basic phone functions and photography. However, the small display might become a big issue, getting into more complex functions. Its only real competition comes from its predecessor, the iPhone 12 mini, which is available at a much lower price (as low as Rs 45,000) from some retailers.

If you think most devices these days are too huge to handle and you’d prefer a smaller-sized smartphone, then this is undoubtedly the best around thanks to its brilliant camera, top-level performance, and good battery life. A couple of drawbacks including its lack of a telephoto camera and its bog standard 60Hz refresh rate hold it back from absolute perfection, but it’s still an excellent option.

The Apple iPhone 13 mini was released in September 2021 along with the rest of the iPhone 13 line. Except for its size, it shares all the same features as the other iPhone 13 models when it comes to audio, and it is all powered by the same A15 Bionic chipset. With the device sharing the same audio specs as the other iPhone 13-series phones, one would expect the iPhone 13 mini’s test results and scores to be identical to the others. We have confirmed this by putting the iPhone 13 mini through the DXOMARK Audio test protocol.

Small, powerful and no longer let down by meagre battery life, the iPhone 13 Mini retains the size that made the previous iteration standout but fixes the major issue we had with it – endurance. There isn’t really another phone like it on the market, with the best small Android phone – the Asus ZenFone 8 – still coming in far larger.

Note that the scale of the two charts is different, with 13 mini’s color scatter extending much further away from the center circles, meaning that its color shift on angle is much more noticeable than that of the iPhone 13. For all other attributes, the two iPhone 13 models performed almost identically, so the information in our iPhone 13 review (here) applies to the Apple iPhone 13 mini as well.

I doubt this is going to change anyone's mind. I will repeat much of what I said last year: this is a super-powerful phone with a great screen and cameras in a convenient, highly portable chassis, and it has an awful lot to recommend it. If you're in the overlap of the Venn diagram between 'wanting a small iPhone' and 'being prepared to pay top whack for it', this is a brilliant choice for you. The problem is that very few people appear to be in that overlap zone, and one would imagine that most of those bought the iPhone 12 mini last year. And the improvements from the 12 mini are not significant enough to justify an upgrade: Cinematic Mode is appealing, but the other changes to the camera setup are difficult to detect in any but the most artificially demanding conditions, while the additional processing power won't be felt until a year or two down the line. My sense is that most potential 12 mini customers were put off by one (or more) of three factors: the screen was too small for their liking; the battery didn't last long enough; and the price was too high.

If you want a deeper dive into iOS 15 and my experience with features like Focus mode, watch out my run-down of iOS 15's best features. I do want to mention that I used review phones that Apple lent me. During my five days, the iPhone 13 Pro Max powered off unexpectedly twice and the iPhone 13 Pro Max shut down once. I don't think this is a major issue or anything to be alarmed about, but I wanted to share my experience. In terms of the iPhone 13 and 13 Mini, it's been a good start but we have more in-depth testing to do with the batteries, durability and comparing its cameras against other phones. But right now, the iPhone 13 will be the reliable phone that most people will be more than happy to use for the next few years.

The iPhone 13 mini is without doubt the best small phone you can get. The few competitors that exist are usually cut-down, cheaper models with compromised experiences, where the 13 mini is a full iPhone, just condensed. It has a great camera, 5G, fast performance, solid battery life, decent storage and long software support. It isn’t the best Apple phone this year; it’s just too small for many things. But if you’ve been hanging on to an iPhone 5S or 2016 iPhone SE because newer models are too big, or you just long for a smaller smartphone, this is the iPhone for you.

The Apple iPhone 13 mini is the most compact smartphone on the market right now, with a flagship feature set and surprisingly good battery life for its small size. It has a lively Dolby Vision OLED screen, one of the most powerful chipsets to date, superb stereo speakers, and it offers a proficient trio of cameras that delivers great photo and video quality. The iPhone 13 mini is also one of the most durable phones - it has a scratch-resistant screen and is IP68-rated for dust and water endurance in up to 6m deep water. Oh, and it's incredibly thin and lightweight. The iPhone 13 mini is not perfect, of course, but it's close. It doesn't offer a 120Hz refresh rate, it ships without a charger, and iOS is not for everyone. Plus, it's a minor upgrade over the iPhone 12 mini, and the notch reduction is far from what many were hoping for. We don't know if the iPhone 13 mini is the last of its kind, for a while at least, but if it goes extinct, we know many people will miss it dearly. Because it is the phone you get if you want a small yet powerful flagship - it's that simple.

This might be the last year to buy the Mini, but hopefully, Apple decides to continue this model in the future. The iPhone 13 Mini gives users incredible specs and features in a smaller package. Once in hand, you'll see that a 5.4 -nch screen isn't actually that small and for many, might be a perfect size. Compared to buying last year's 12 Mini which is only $50 less (if you opt for the 128GB mode), the 13 Mini offers a number of improvements and new features that make it the much better choice when purchasing new. If, however, you're trying to decide if you should upgrade to the latest iPhone 13 Mini from the 12 Mini, or other 12 series phones, the differences may not be compelling enough to justify the switch.

If you were to list all the improvements the iPhone 13 mini brings with it, you might be forgiven for thinking it was a major step forwards. In reality, however, as with most phone upgrades these days, you’re looking at a fairly small progression. Yes, the battery life is better and so is the camera, while the bright display will be of benefit to those living in sunny climes. Overall, though, these won’t make a huge difference to your day-to-day life with this phone. If you already own an iPhone 12 mini, I wouldn’t recommend you make the effort to upgrade. On the other hand, if you’ve decided a small, powerful smartphone is what you absolutely need and you’re deciding between the two, then the iPhone 13 mini is the obvious choice. For not much more than the iPhone 12 it offers all the benefits stated above with the bonus of a double helping of storage.

There's no doubt that the new iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini work smoothly. The iPhone 13 mini in particular could be a good upgrade if you're currently using an older iPhone and want to stick with something small. On the other hand, the iPhone 13 is more in line with the current market, and should be more versatile for a lot of people. The choice between the two sizes is primarily about convenience and ease of use (and your budget), but do consider that there's also a difference in battery life. These phones offer a lot of what you'd get with the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max, at much lower prices. They're still very expensive though, and you don't get some of the nicest touches like the 120Hz screen. If you don't really need Cinema Mode or Photographic Styles, you might be perfectly happy. The iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max aren't officially available anymore but you can still find them on sale at prices that overlap the iPhone 13.

For anyone looking for a compact phone, this is the one for you. It’s rather strange why Android phone makers haven’t jumped on the ‘mini’ bandwagon. Perhaps it’s the lack of demand or maybe they aren’t willing to make a phone that looks small and give it a flagship experience. Apple does that with aplomb as with the iPhone 13 mini, it has cut no corners at all. It looks great, fits comfortably in your hand, delivers superb performance and you get double the storage. For Rs 69,990, you can get the 128GB variant of the iPhone 13 mini. Like all iPhones, it is rather expensive but you get a premium experience in a small form factor. Apple has definitely improved the battery performance of the iPhone 13 mini and when we reviewed its predecessor we mentioned that battery could be a deal-breaker for some. Not anymore as it’s not the best battery on the iPhone but it’s really good. You get a really good iPhone experience at a lesser price and in a smaller size. This is a phone that you once start using, it will be tough to go back to a bigger screen.

The iPhone 13 mini is likely going away next year because, based on the sales, most users aren’t willing to give up a big screen to get a small phone. However, for the apparently small niche that wants a small screen, a small phone or both, the mini remains the best option — and that is likely to be true for years to come. You are losing out on some features by not going with the Pro models and the battery life still isn’t anything to write home about, but nothing comes close to the performance of the iPhone 13 mini. And while the Galaxy Z Flip 3 is a potentially compelling alternative, this foldable still has durability concerns that are going to drive some people away. If you are intrigued by the notion of a small phone, don’t hesitate, the iPhone 13 mini may be the best small phone you will ever have the opportunity to buy.

The iPhone 13 mini is the best small phone ever made, and sets the standard that all compact phones must follow. It’s the best small Pro phone for all users and most people won’t need the features of the iPhone 13 Pro either.

First, we have a browsing test — basically opening websites at even intervals with both phones at equal brightness, scrolling through, and moving on to the next site. In this test, the iPhone 13 mini lasted for about 1 hour and 37 minutes more than the iPhone 13 mini. For YouTube streaming, we just ran an endless binge and watched which phone will die first. Again, the iPhone 13 mini outlasted its predecessor by 1 hour and 10 minutes. Lastly, for gaming, we had a really impressive result — the iPhone 13 mini scored 1 hour and 34 minutes over the iPhone 12 mini, fulfilling the promise Apple made. And in real life? Yeah, I wouldn’t say the iPhone 13 mini is a battery champ by any means. But I definitely found myself hitting the Low Power mode much later in the evening. Of course, that is if I spent the day with no wireless charger in my vicinity. Nowadays, a lot of us just have a charging puck on our work desk.

The iPhone 13 mini may be small in size, but it's big on features. It offers plenty of features that you won't find in modern-day Android premium phones. Features like Cinematic mode and Photographic Styles add zing to the overall camera experience. The bright display addition is excellent, though a higher refresh rate panel would have been great. Overall, it is one of the best phones that offer fantastic single-hand use. The lightweight design provides excellent aesthetics for almost any task. However, in terms of battery, the iPhone 13 mini is still far from an ideal device that can last a full day of use, so get used to carrying a power bank if you're a power user. At a starting price of Rs 69,900, you now get the 128GB storage base model, which is double the storage size that 12 mini shipped with at the same price. If you want the new iPhones, you can also look at the iPhone 13, which is Rs 10,000 a costlier than the 13 mini but will be a better overall deal.

As I was scrolling through a website that sells vintage watches the other day, a thought came to my mind: how important comfort is for you while using a phone. In fashion, style with comfort is given the utmost importance. But we never talk about “comfort” in the context of the devices we use. Phones, in particular, are getting bigger each year and using them is a pain for people like me. I am sure someone over at Apple has figured out how to design a phone that just fits perfectly in most hands. It is also a phone that can be kept aside, in your pocket or purse, highlighting the fact that a phone does not need to dominate our lives.

As with the iPad Mini, the smaller screen here subtly influences your behavior in ways that aren’t immediately obvious. Even though it runs the exact same software as the 13 Pro Max, the iPhone 13 Mini encourages more sporadic use for shorter periods just because it’s smaller and less immersive. If you can adapt your phone usage to fit, it’s great — and definitely better than last year. The same insight applies to the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Its gigantic screen also encourages a different kind of use — specifically more of it. But because it simply can have such a huge battery inside (and perhaps because it can vary the refresh rate of the screen), those behaviors don’t affect how long it lasts as much. Physics is physics, and the battery in the 13 Pro Max is physically huge.

The Mini is the cheapest entry in the iPhone 13 line, but you won’t get one because of pricing. Or rather, you shouldn’t, because if you need to save cash, the iPhone 12 now costs the same and has a bigger display – albeit an inferior camera and half the storage. Instead, the Mini is all about the form factor, offering you a (nearly) compromise-free option when you want the full-fat iPhone experience without, well, the fat. Is it perfect? No. Battery life, while improved, remains a trade-off, and this iPhone can be fiddly to use. But this is by some margin the best phone available in a tiny package. Let’s hope more people buy one this time – and that Apple doesn’t tire of making small phones by next year.

That decision shifts with the $399 iPhone SE, simply because the SE is so much less expensive and is therefore in an entirely different class. The SE is less powerful all around, but it's still a delightful entry-level phone for new or light users. But I'm ambivalent about recommending the iPhone 13 mini as an upgrade simply because I was so burned by my recommendation of the 12 mini. Yes, the 13 mini's battery is better—it lasts longer than the popular iPhone 12's battery, in our tests. But all of the other iPhone 13 models have even better batteries. So if you can afford an iPhone 13, I say get the iPhone 13.

The iPhone 13 mini is the smallest model in the iPhone 13 series and shares most specs, including front and rear camera setups, with the slightly larger iPhone 13. Images can be viewed on a 5.4-inch 5.4 Super Retina XDR display and Apple’s mobile OS is powered by its in-house A15 chipset. Images and video can be saved to up to 512GB of built-in storage. The front camera hardware for selfie capture is the same across all iPhone 13 models, featuring a 12 MP sensor coupled to a f/2.2-aperture lens with a 23mm equivalent focal length. Let’s see how it does in our DXOMARK Selfie test.

With an improved set of cameras, a bigger battery and a brighter display, the tiny little smartphone is even more powerful now. You do get the same headlining new camera features as with the Pro models – Cinematic Mode, which automatically adjusts focus between subjects in a frame, and Photographic Styles, which lets you customise the tone and character of photos you take before they are rendered. What's also worth noting is that sensor-shift stabilisation, previously exclusive to the iPhone 12 Pro Max, is not standard across all four models. However, you don't get the Pros' 3X telephoto cameras, or the ability to take macro stills and videos. The wide and ultra-wide cameras are also not the same as those on the Pro models, and have slightly weaker specifications. It will be interesting to see whether the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini offer enough to set them apart from the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini, respectively, which remain on sale at lower prices and benefit from the new iOS 15 release. That's what we'll aim to decide in our full review, which is coming up very soon.

For all its limitations, the iPhone 13 mini is for you. Yes, it is - assuming you're on an iPhone with a few years on the clock, tired of lugging around big phones or have an Android and want to experience the bright side. The iPhone SE has many good qualities, but the 13 mini is preferable. It has better cameras, a better screen and a faster processor, and will last longer than an SE. With a size that allows it to slip into almost any pocket and the performance to put a flagship Android phone to shame, the iPhone 13 mini is an exemplary little powerhouse. The cameras are very good and it feels snappy and responsive in use. It also has a couple of hours of battery life on its predecessor, making this fledgling a good entry-level model for those who want to wander into an ecosystem where everything is integrated and (nearly) always works.

We can’t yet make a final call on some of the iPhone 13 mini’s features, but our experience with the iPhone 13 suggests that Apple’s smaller iPhone will be a capable and powerful handset with strong battery life. If you’re after an iPhone with a smaller screen, the improvement in battery life that we’re expecting to see over the iPhone 12 mini may be the thing that sways you towards this handset. We’re looking forward to testing this phone more extensively, but going on what we’ve seen so far, Apple’s smallest 2021 iPhone is shaping up to be another small wonder.

But if you’re coming from something older and want a small phone, this is basically the best you can get.

Before the iPhone mini came out, if you were shopping for a small phone, you’d have to opt for a budget smartphone with outdated specs and a lower-grade design. As nice as it is having a smaller-sized phone that’s easier to handle and pocket, what I love most about the iPhone 13 mini is that it doesn’t require you to compromise on features or performance. Personally, I think its small size is more than enough reason to purchase one — especially with how rare small phones are these days. But since the iPhone 13 mini is equipped with the best processor, camera, and a gorgeous OLED display for a price that’s lower than most flagship phones, it’s a no-brainer.

Because I am a tech enthusiast lucky enough to test all the latest Android flagships, the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Mini’s dual-camera system doesn’t have the versatility for me. But for other less demanding users, the iPhone 13/ 13 Mini cameras represent a noticeable upgrade over last year’s cameras: the main camera image sensor is larger, it gained the sensor-shift technology only available to the Pro Max model last year, and I love cinematic mode. The iPhone 13 Mini, in particular, is about the only small flagship phone in town, so if you really hate the size of modern flagships, this is the phone to get.

This is a difficult question to answer, similar to the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. While the iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 13 are indeed upgrades over last year's iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12, the improvements are marginal. Whether the iPhone 13 mini or iPhone 13 is a worthwhile purchase for you will come down to what iPhone you're currently using. If you already have an iPhone 12, it might be worth sitting this year out. However, if you're using an earlier iPhone, like an iPhone X or an iPhone 11, then the iPhone 13 is a solid offering.

The new iPhone is here, with an improved processor, more camera modes, and slightly brighter screen. The changers are appreciated, but the iPhone 13 doesn't feel like a huge leap over the iPhone 12, and may not be a must-have upgrade except for Apple superfans.

We have so much love for this small-screen iPhone. It delivers performance well beyond its size - matching the iPhone 13 in that regard - and has great cameras, all wrapped into a pocketable and lightweight design that makes for a refreshing change compared to typically larger devices. No, the iPhone 13 mini's battery life isn't nearly as great as the larger iPhones, and the rear camera housing does stand out a little more on this compact form-factor - but don't let those points put you off entirely, because they're things you'll learn to live within a matter of days. If you're someone who likes a 6.5-inch or larger display for watching movies, and want better battery stamina, the iPhone 13 mini probably won't be your bag. But for everyone else, you shouldn't underestimate the power of small - as this handset is a pocket powerhouse with massive potential.

Gloomy reports of lacklustre sales might have suggested otherwise, but Apple isn’t quite ready to give up on the iPhone mini just yet. Unveiled during its all-singing, all-dancing annual launch event on 14 September, the iPhone 13 mini has returned, and yet again it’s a smaller (and cheaper) alternative that looks to be just as capable as the rest of the range.

The Apple iPhone 13 mini comes with almost similar specifications. The basic difference between the iPhone 13 and the 13 mini is screen size, dimensions, resolution and price. As the iPhone 13 Mini design and the spec are similar, the review will also be the same. You can check out the full iPhone 13 review here.

这是比较大的智能手机尺寸,也十分常见。
大尺寸可以让屏幕有更高的分辨率。因而例如字体等的细节将会更丰富。不过另一方面,小屏幕的功耗会较低,而设备也会更轻盈小巧,售价更低。
