All of which boils down to what is a fairly simple verdict for the iPhone 14 Pro Max. If you can afford it, this is the iPhone to buy if you value battery life above all else. It’s more expensive than the 14 Pro but not by enough to put you off if you’ve already committed to splashing out on one of the top-end Apple handsets. The camera is great, the display is glorious, and performance and battery life are up there with the best. The price is so high now, though, that you might just want to pause for a moment, sit down and think seriously about switching. Do you really want to pay out £1,200 on a phone, good though it is, that doesn’t fold and lacks the telephoto reach of a handset costing hundreds of pounds less? If not, then fair enough, but just be aware that, increasingly, Android flagships are offering more features and better value at a similar level of quality.

The iPhone 14 Pro Max is a powerful, big-screen device with long battery life and fantastic cameras. It’s not a monumental leap from the 13 Pro Max, but if you want the extra display real estate and the best array of features, this is the iPhone to choose. There are some simple changes that could make it even better, though. The boxy, straight-edged design doesn’t suit the large size and the Lightning port feels antiquated for a modern phone. Not only does it charge fairly slowly, but transferring big video files with a cable is more time-consuming than it should be. The iPhone 15 Pro Max will reportedly address all of these issues, with a new titanium design and USB-C charging port, as well as a new periscope camera system to enhance the quality of the zoom. As a result, it’s worth waiting for the new iPhone 15 models. Even if the upgrades aren’t to your taste, it should lower the prices of the iPhone 14 range – including the 14 Pro Max.

Long term review on the iPhone 14 Pro Max. It's been a solid phone of course not perfect but hopefully if you're planning to pick one up in the near future this will give you an outlook of how it holds up.

On paper, the Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max is the firm’s best phone. It moves things on with Dynamic Island, the always-on display and an impressive camera revamp – all of which further differentiate this most premium of phones from the standard iPhone. But it’s also big, heavy and expensive. The elephant in the room is the larger UK price hike, which is down to the relative strengths of the US dollar and sterling – but your bank account doesn’t care about that. If you’ve an existing 13 Pro Max, probably hang on to it. If you’re on a 12 Max, there’s enough here to warrant upgrading, even if some of those things are ‘in progress’. And if you’ve been mulling going Pro for a while, this is the time to do so, given the comparatively nothingy update the iPhone 14’s received. It’s just a pity this coincides with your bank account getting a kicking. So on that note, also mull over if you could cope with less battery life, screen real estate and hand strain for the non-Max Pro, because the iPhone 14 Pro is equally good.

Reviewing Apple's iPhone 14 Pro Max after long term use, to see how the camera tech, gaming, battery life etc compares vs the Pixel 7 Pro, Samsung S23 Ultra and more. The iPhone 14 Pro Max still costs from £1200 in the UK, so it's one of the most expensive smartphones despite its age. However, Apple's slab is still one of the best for video capture, even if the camera isn't as dependable in softer light. The Galaxy S23 Ultra trumps the iPhone 14 Pro Max for night photography, as does the Pixel 7 Pro and Xiaomi's super-priced phones.

Among all the models offered by Apple, the iPhone 14 Pro Max is certainly the most premium model. However, as much as I will never choose the basic iPhone 14 because it doesn't bring anything compared to last year's lineup. I'll never buy the iPhone 14 Pro Max either. It's just way too expensive and I personally find it too huge for my liking. The new camera module is convincing with its 48 MP lens, especially its 2x zoom which allows one to snap very nice portrait pictures. I love the Dynamic Island on the screen which is far from being a gimmick in my opinion, and I hope that Apple will find more potential for use in terms of the iOS 16 user interface. I was once again amazed by the power of the Apple SoC, especially by the exceptional stability that makes the gaming experience pleasant in terms of smoothness.

It has long made no sense to change top models every year, they are so packed with technology that they do not become obsolete even in a few years. It doesn’t make much sense to change an iPhone 13 to an iPhone 14 unless you have a great desire and extra money. But it’s worth replacing the 10th or 11th, you’ll feel the difference in terms of the screen, performance, cameras, and a fresh battery is good. All in all, the iPhone 14 Pro Max is a successful flagship… for fans of Apple technology. It’s beautiful, made of premium materials, with perfect build quality, a great screen, great cameras, super speed, long battery life… But since I regularly test various new products in the line of duty, I can’t say that this is the perfect device. For Apple users, yes, it is the most advanced. But otherwise…

So, taking everything into account, I can’t not say that the iPhone 14 Pro Max is one of the best phones you can buy right now. But is that enough anymore? I’m not so sure. With the looming specter of the iPhone 15 Pro Max in just a few short months, it becomes hard to recommend this right now. Maybe with some tweaks to the computational side of Apple’s photography, and some software updates to really bring out the best of Dynamic Island, along with the inevitable price cuts once the new Pro Max is released, this could become a worthwhile purchase. But until we get a grasp of what improvements the 15 Pro Max will bring to the table, hopefully to resolve some of my photography gripes (and maybe round off those edges so this big slab is easier to hold), I’d wait.

The Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max is not just big in form, it's big in character. There's a refreshed design that's really striking, especially in this larger format, coupled with performance enhancements, battery improvements, camera improvements, the Always-On Display and the Dynamic Island feature. Sure, it's pretty heavy, it's very expensive, and it offers all the same features as its smaller sibling, but it's a stunning device for those who want a larger screen or more battery life. It will be too big for some, but if you're looking for the best iPhone Apple has made to date in the biggest possible format, the iPhone 14 Pro Max is definitely the one - it is excellent.

There’s no question that 2022 is an exciting year for Apple’s Pro lineup of iPhones. With the new always-on screen, Dynamic Island, considerable camera upgrades, and A16 Bionic chipset, there’s a lot to sink into with the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Given the choice between the two, however, I’d argue that the latter model is the one you should buy this year. You get everything that makes the iPhone 14 Pro so great, but the 14 Pro Max makes it better with a larger screen and significantly better battery life. It is a large phone and one that comes at a steep price, but if you can get over those two potential roadblocks, the iPhone 14 Pro Max stands tall as the best iPhone this year. And, arguably, one of the very best smartphones money can buy.

Apple's iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max may look identical to last year's iPhone 13 Pro on the back, but don't let that fool you. It's the iPhone 14 Pro's screen where there's something different and wonderful going on. The iPhone's display notch, which has defined Face ID iPhones since 2017's iPhone X, has been replaced with a pill-shaped screen cutout that houses an upgraded TrueDepth camera system. On its own, that cutout will make some people happier than the notch did. But it's the space around the cutout, which now shows system alerts and background activities, that's become one of my favorite features.

Even so, it's not an easy decision to make, and I'll be honest, I'm hesitant myself. The biggest thing holding me back from buying an iPhone is having to get used to a different way of navigating the interface. If that doesn't scare you, you can try it, but I personally would suggest you talk to someone who has one of these iPhones. Let him give it to you for a moment, so that you can see whether this system is digestible at all for you and whether you will be able to switch to it at first glance. I tried it, but I'll tell you honestly - I'll wait for the foldable iPhone. We'll see what they show then. If it takes me, who knows? For now - yes, it's a successful and cool device, but I'm still on Android. However, it's only me - the final decision is yours and all I can do is wish it to be as successful and accurate as possible.

Apple tried to get everyone excited about the iPhone 14 Pro Max, and in a lot of ways, it's the best smartphone on the market. On the face of it, the iPhone 14 Pro Max doesn’t look like a major upgrade. And for those who own one of last year’s Pro models, it really doesn’t make for a worthy buy. But for others, the iPhone 14 Pro Max brings quite a bit to the table. At a starting cost of Rs 1,39,900, it’s pricey, sure, but for your money, you’ll get a daily driver that’s able to deliver a top-notch user experience that check marks almost all aspects of smartphone usage. Of course, at this price, you have the option of choosing an Android flagship too, and the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and the Galaxy Fold4 are the first ones that come to mind. But an iPhone is an iPhone, so they say, and as Apple’s latest and greatest, the 14 Pro Max shouldn’t leave you wanting for more. Between the Pro Max and the smaller Pro, I’d say the larger variant makes a lot of sense for those looking to squeeze the most out of their daily driver in terms of productivity and/or entertainment, while the smaller model is definitely the handier of the two.

So, there you have it guys, that was my review of the new Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max after using it for two weeks! With every generation, I am seeing Apple making its iPhones better and better! Of course, it’s still not perfect by any means, but it’s almost there! And like always, that’s kinda bad news for Android! Because I feel like the gap between Android flagships and this year’s iPhone 14 Pro models is bigger than ever! If you look at this graph, every year, the sales of the iPhones are on the rise, whereas the sales of flagship devices from Samsung and OnePlus are declining year by year! And the reason why I think that’s happening is because brands like Samsung are more focused on foldables these days, which is not a bad thing because I love foldables! I think that’s where the smartphone industry is eventually headed, but it will take some time before we get there. In the meanwhile, Apple is absolutely nailing the smartphone industry by perfecting their iPhones every year! Thus, if you are looking for a banger of a phone and have got the money to spend, you should probably go and get this guy!

In recent years, each new generation of iPhone has tended to include secret, slight upgrades to picture and/or sound performance, and this is the first time in ages that a significant screen upgrade has been touted. That upgrade is well worthwhile, elevating an already superb video performance to new dynamic levels. What’s surprising is that the screen upgrade is comfortably trumped by an unpublicised boost to sound quality. The iPhone 14 Pro Max sounds so good, it makes last year’s previously excellent 13 Pro Max sound a little bit dull and congested. Not only do these upgrades make Apple’s new flagship model the best iPhone yet for portable movie and music lovers, it elevates it beyond the AV benchmark previously set by Sony’s Xperia 1 IV.

Apple has made a habit of making excellent smartphones and the iPhone 14 Pro Max is no different. There’s no escaping the fact that the iPhone 14 Pro Max is one of the most expensive smartphones you can buy — starting at Rs 1,39,900 and goes up to Rs 1,89,900 (1TB storage variant). You might think that it will be a hard sell especially in a country like India. India still remains a vanilla iPhone island but the aspiration to go Pro is strong as ever. This year Apple has really separated the Pro models from the vanilla ones with the iPhone 14 series. And there is still an audience that salivates at the thought of getting an iPhone Pro — perhaps they have used the vanilla and want an upgrade or they are the ones that just want the best of Apple. The iPhone 14 Pro Max gets the best of Apple in every sense. The display is a delight — Dynamic Island is great fun — and the cameras have been upgraded as well. Should you go for it? Without battling an eyelid as long as you can splash the cash The iPhone 14 Pro Max is one of the best smartphones money can buy.

The Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max reached an excellent global score but stands slightly below its predecessor, the iPhone 13 Pro Max. The latest device was tested with the “always-on display” mode turned off — a feature that we deactivate for all models in our tests for a fair comparison. The score difference with the 13 Pro Max was mainly due to slightly lower performance during on-the-go and calibrated tests, but the results remained close. The iPhone 14 Pro Max showed an excellent performance during the typical usage scenario, with less than 2% lost per night on average. Outdoors, the screen’s brightness was excellent, but it came at a slight cost to the autonomy. Autonomy was very good when scrolling social apps, which we test in the subway, but battery performance struggled when using the new demanding camera and during the navigation tests. However, when testing in calibrated mode, the autonomy was above average across all our use cases, especially when streaming videos, but slightly below average in the call test. When it came to charging, the small 20W charger took 2 hours and 21 minutes to fill up the 4323 mAh battery. Similarly, the wireless charger took 2 hours and 44 minutes to fully charge the battery, which was longer than average. The residual consumption of both wired and wireless chargers was very low. The discharge currents were very low, too, meaning that the device was well-optimized, whatever the use case.

The iPhone 14 Pro Max is truly the best of everything in the current iPhone world. It’s got the best design, the biggest screen, the best cameras, and the smartest display. You’ll pay for all of that but, if you’re determined to get an iPhone and want the absolute apex device, this is clearly the handset for you. If you can live with a slightly smaller display, and want less weight in your pocket, we might recommend the more compact 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro, instead.

The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max are great phones with irreproachable build quality, gorgeous displays, terrific cameras, and blazing fast performance. They also come with useful new features that I hope no one would ever have to use: Emergency SOS via satellite and Crash Detection. Anyone who owns these phones will be very happy. That said, there are some thoughts worth pondering. The iPhone 14 lineup is a little curious this year because it seems like Apple wants to make changes to the way it positions its iPhones. It looks like they are trying to create more differentiation between the “Pro” iPhones and regular iPhones. Consider that the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max are the only ones to receive the always-on display, Dynamic Island, significantly upgraded camera systems, and a new chip, while the iPhone 14 is mostly a parts bin update, getting the chip and camera from last year’s iPhone 13 Pro. Perhaps we are too fixated on the design, but if you think about it the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max really are new phones – just wearing last year’s clothes.

Yes, if you are a Pro user who will need the iPhone for creative purposes and is using an older phone currently. No, you really don’t need to get the Pro series if you are not an avid photographer, and this iPhone is not a replacement for the camera you used to lug around everywhere. For the second category user, a regular iPhone is all that is needed. The Pro is clearly for power users and that too primarily of the camera and processing power. That distinction is now becoming more visible with the iPhone 14 Pro Max. But then Apple will hope this top-of-the-line phone has enough aspirational pull to make regular users line up for an upgrade they might not actually need.

With novel innovations such as Dynamic Island, an improved camera system, and class-leading performance chops, the Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max is an easy recommendation for those looking for the fastest and one of the best phones in the market. While the improvements are still what we’d call incremental, you can’t deny that they will make users (and other smartphone manufacturers) sit up and take notice. That said, for a phone that starts at ₹1,39,990, this isn’t easy on anyone’s wallet. For a phone that looks so similar to its predecessor, it may be a tough sell.

The best iPhone ever comes with a wide range of advancements, and even if you don't consider any of them groundbreaking or relevant to your usage, they're there and add up. The brightest screen by a country mile, now with AoD, a pill for the notch-ache, a camera system with all-around improvements and great full-res images, and emergency hardware/software features - that's the new stuff. These come on top of Pro Max staples like great battery life, superb speakers, and premium and durable build quality. The most potent chipset in the business and at least 5 years of support for the software you've known for ages (and likely love and hate at the same time) are other classic arguments for the iPhone, Pro Max included. The price increase in RoW markets (that is, outside of the US) is a tough pill to swallow on at least two levels. There's the absolute monetary dimension of the extra cash leaving your pocket, and then there's the sense that you're paying for part of the US customers' iPhones - we're not sure which is the more bitter sentiment.

On paper, the iPhone 14 Pro Max is Apple’s best phone. It moves things on with Dynamic Island, the always-on display and an impressive camera revamp – all of which further differentiate this most premium of phones from the standard iPhone. But it’s also big, heavy and expensive. The elephant in the room is the £150 price hike, which is down to the relative strengths of the US dollar and sterling – but your bank account doesn’t care about that. If you’ve an existing 13 Pro Max, probably hang on to it. If you’re on a 12 Max, there’s enough here to warrant upgrading, even if some of those things are ‘in progress’. And if you’ve been mulling going Pro for a while, this is the year to do so, given the comparatively nothingy update the iPhone 14’s received. It’s just a pity this coincides with your bank account getting a kicking. So on that note, also mull over if you could cope with less battery life, screen real estate and hand strain, in return for 100 quid, because this year’s iPhone 14 Pro is equally good.

The iPhone 14 Pro Max carries on the strength of battery life as well as the “big iPhone experience” from its predecessor, which is crucial for the Pro Max iPhone. Paired with the improved camera system as well as the modern front design, the iPhone 14 Pro Max has all it takes to contest for two of the best conventional slab smartphones money can buy. The Dynamic Island is a clever way to use the undesired space on any smartphone, and I am eager to see how app developers make use of it. That said, for a phone carrying a sticker price of Rs. 1.9 lakhs, the iPhone 14 Pro Max isn't perfect. Apple's Photonic Engine doesn't achieve the same levels of pleasant image tuning as the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. The subject separation in portrait mode photos leaves room for improvement as well, especially for the front camera. And the design seems “so 2020”; it turns heads but it is not as beautiful as a Galaxy S22 Ultra. But as they say, there's always next year for improvements. For now, the iPhone 14 Pro Max is our top recommendation if you seek a polished smartphone experience and have the means to splurge on a luxury phone.

Besides Dynamic Island, the Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max does not appear to be significantly different in terms of design from its predecessors. But apart from the looks, there are a lot of improvements to see. The stunning cameras, always-on display, amazing battery life, and safety features of the iPhone 14 Pro Max make it an excellent phone. Yes, I agree that the hardware upgrades seem less impressive than I had hoped. I won’t recommend an iPhone 13 Pro Max user to upgrade, but anyone upgrading from an older phone than that will appreciate this latest iPhone. It is, of course, expensive, but it is also the best smartphone money can buy. For the rest of us enthusiast crowd, the iPhone 14 Pro Max only has a couple of clear victories over our favorite Android devices — a better video camera and more powerful and efficient silicon. Otherwise, the Galaxy S22 Ultra still has a better zoom lens, the Xiaomi 12S Ultra can snap better still photos, and something like the Galaxy Z Fold 4 still makes my on-the-go work life easier than any iPhone can. Basically, the iPhone 14 Pro Max is the best iPhone in a while but it doesn’t do enough to sway Android diehards. And the phone hasn’t swayed me. I’m still going back to the Fold 4 after as my full-time phone, because I can open three apps simultaneously there.

With the appearance of the iPhone 14 Pro Max, Apple continues to refine its flagship product, with the new device surpassing the performance of the iPhone 13 Pro Max in nearly every attribute. The new model’s display is the brightest among all devices tested to date — over 2000 nits (measured), which means content is readable even under bright sunlight; moreover, the increased brightness also improves overall color rendering. Although there was no significant improvement in handling SDR video content, whose brightness remains sometimes too low, the new iPhone shows advances in fine contrast rendering of HDR10 content, and has much better playback management than the 13 Pro Max. As with Apple phones generally, the 14 Pro Max continues to show superior control of aliasing. But when gaming, or watching movies, users might find the new notch design uncomfortably intrusive.

With a DXOMARK Audio score of 142, the Apple iPhone 14 Pro delivers an excellent performance that is similar to the audio experience of its predecessor, the iPhone 13 Pro Max. The 14 Pro Max sounds overall great through the built-in speakers and is best for listening to music and gaming but also offers great sound quality when watching movies. Test results were consistently good across all Playback test attributes. The nice timbre benefits from a deep low-end extension. Dynamics are great and an excellent spatial performance means you’ll feel totally immersed in the stereo sound scene. There is not too much to criticize, but the latest iPhone is still far from perfect in terms of Playback performance. For example, our testers observed some distortion and compression at maximum volume when watching movies. Stereo is also still inverted in the music app, as on all previous iPhones. As a recording device, the 14 Pro Max does best for selfie and main camera video and is especially good for recording in loud environments, such as concerts or similar events, thanks to good results across pretty much all Recording sub-attributes, including timbre and dynamics. Artifacts are managed very well; only the wind noise reduction could do with some fine-tuning. Our testers also found the midrange to change with the usage scenario, producing either more nasal or more resonant results.

Practically speaking, no. But then practicality also depends on what you want from your phone. If you want the absolute best phone at the moment, the iPhone 14 Pro should be on your radar. It is expensive, but unlike an expensive Android phone which is good enough for just two years of optimum use, a phone like the iPhone 14 Pro will easily last four years or so before you pass it on to a friend or family member, who may not need a cutting-edge phone, and they can use it for another two years. The iPhone 14 Pro, the price of which starts from Rs 1,29,900, is also worth buying because it doesn't come with the drama, cheap thrills, cut-price components and shenanigans that I associate with most Android phones nowadays. It uses top quality hardware, its design is seamless and classy, and its iOS 16 is cohesive and slick.

Indeed, a lot about the iPhone 14 Pro Max feels like Apple setting the stage for its next iteration of smartphones. The Dynamic Island feels as much of a shift as the notch did on the iPhone X; the upgraded cameras are a step up in the software and hardware blend of Apple's computational photography. If the iPhone 14 feels familiar, its Pro counterparts pave the way for what 2023 and beyond might focus on. It's not an entirely clean sweep. The decision to stick with WiFi 6 rather than switch to 6E probably won't impact many today, but runs counter to Apple's ethos of future-proofing elsewhere. Going all-in on eSIM feels aggressive or even premature, and there are times I'm not convinced the camera software is getting the most out of the iPhone 14 Pro Max's hardware. All the same, the upgrade decision here is a lot more straightforward than elsewhere in the 2022 iPhone line-up. You're getting some notable improvements wrapped in a familiar — but unquestionably premium — design, and that combined with the longevity of Apple's hardware and software pulls a little of the sting of the iPhone 14 Pro Max's $1,099 starting price.

You know, I always felt the 13 Pro Max was gonna to be a tough act to follow. It marked the first time any successor replaced the 4S as my favorite iPhone ever, even if notice I say iPhone. I don't necessarily feel Apple makes the best smartphones, or brings the most innovation, but if there's one thing the company does right is mastering the art of the "Old Reliable." It's like that emotional attachment you develop with your car, which if you think of it, is something most people don't change every year. Cue in this new iPhone 14 Pro Max, which is a lot of its predecessor at least in looks, but not necessarily once you use it, and after spending a weekend with it, let's just say my first impressions are kind of a mixed bag. For those looking for a totally new and fresh iPhone experience in 2022, the iPhone 14 Pro Max and its smaller sibling, the iPhone 14 Pro, are the best options right now. You get access to all the new features, things like Dynamic Island, Apple’s new 48MP sensor, faster 5G, thanks to the Pro models’ new Snapdragon modem, and best-in-class battery life, as well as the new always-on display. If you’re running and iPhone 11, iPhone 12, or even an iPhone 13, the iPhone 14 Pro Max makes a pretty good case for itself. You will notice lots of differences with respect to performance, how you interact with it on a daily basis, and how the camera performs. Bottom line? The iPhone 14 Pro Max is the best update we’ve had from Apple since the release of the iPhone 11 way back when. It ups the ante considerably over what came before, it shows that Apple can still innovate with the best of them, and it performs like an absolute monster. If you want badass design, performance, and an amazing camera, the iPhone 14 Pro Max is the phone you have been looking for.

The good news here is that Apple and its carrier partners are offering aggressive trade-in valuations and other deals that lower the effective price of the iPhone 14 Pro Max. It's highly possible to score one for well under the base $1,099 price if you have something to trade or make a jump between carriers. So while the price of the iPhone 14 Pro Max is definitely a reach, it's one we recommend making if you have the means. The Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max is the best iPhone overall, with excellent performance, stellar battery life, sharp cameras, and a number of useful features you don't get with the standard models.

But notice all of those situations are still photos, and mostly with the main camera. The best Android brands have developed awesome main cameras for photos, but there’s still polish lacking in synergy between all the cameras, plus other areas like video recording. Switching between lenses while filming video, for example, will still result in visible jerkiness in most Android video clips. The iPhone has no such issues. It is very debatable whether the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max have the best main camera for photos (I’d vote no), but a strong case can be made that the iPhone 14 Pro phones have the most polished and well-rounded camera system. And unlike in years past, where iPhones were hampered by small sensors or not enough pixels, this year, the iPhone 14 Pro’s main camera has a higher ceiling. Combined with the consistency we’ve come to expect from iPhones, it paves the way for another year of being a good benchmark.

Apple calls it the Dynamic Island, and it enlarges and shrinks when you receive a call and to display the music you're playing, timers and other notifications. I know it's not the best name, but it's truly one of the best features on the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max.

It honestly feels like the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max is the way to go in 2022 ...something that's abundantly clear when you read our iPhone 14 review. The latest pair of super premium phones from Apple have been treated to a substantial upgrade, including a fabulous new always-on screen that never stops glowing, interactive camera notch – called the Dynamic Island – that magically changes depending on what's running in the background, and a more powerful A16 processor that takes performance to a whole new level. The main rear camera has also been boosted with a bigger sensor making sure every image looks crystal clear and packed with detail, while the front-facing gets autofocus (a first for iPhone) to improve your selfies and video calls. The Pro lineup remains the only way to get a silky smooth ProMotion 120Hz display, telephoto camera for lossless zoom, and – if you can afford the extra cost – a huge 1TB of internal storage. This is another blockbuster update to the iPhone Pro series and, for the first time in years, it's now easier than ever to recommend spending the extra cash as the standard iPhone 14 lacks all of these barnstorming updates. The Pro is undoubtedly the best iPhone you can buy this year. Yes, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone Pro Max are ludicrously expensive (you'll need to hunt for the best iPhone 14 Pro deals if you decide to plump for these models) but, having had all of the new iPhone models in our hands, it's abundantly clear that switching to the iPhone 14 Pro is definitely worth every penny. They come highly recommended.

The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max improve upon a pair of excellent products with meaningful design and hardware upgrades. Their Dynamic Island, always-on display, improved cameras, and first-of-its-kind safety features deserve making the switch even if you are an iPhone 13 Pro owner. These are the iPhones to get, so long as their price tags fit your budget. And thankfully, they have remained the same as those of the previous generation. Once again, the iPhone 14 Pro Max is the one to get if you value screen size, multitasking capabilities, and battery capacity. The smaller and lighter Pro is easier to handle without skimping on power and features. A starter iPhone 14 Pro with 128GB of built-in storage costs $999, while the bigger Max is $100 more for the same amount of memory. Doubling the memory costs another $100, while opting for 512GB or 1TB adds $300 and $500 to the base price, respectively. And if you are a camera enthusiast, I highly recommend skipping the base storage option, as RAW image files and 4K video clips take up a lot of space.

From the outside, the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max don’t look dramatically different from their predecessors, aside from the Dynamic Island. But thanks to the Always On Display and crisis-preparedness features like crash detection and Emergency SOS, the iPhone 14 Pros feel potentially more useful in unforeseen circumstances. Sure, the camera updates feel less significant than I expected. But anyone upgrading from an older phone will appreciate what Apple has to offer.

By finally embracing features that Android phones have long had, like smaller front camera cutouts and always-on displays, the iPhone 14 Pro brings conveniences that iOS users will appreciate. Apple’s unique approach with Dynamic Island feels slick, and though its camera updates don’t translate to dramatic photography improvements, the iPhone 14 Pro still takes excellent pictures and video. Controversial decisions like removing the SIM card slot and still being stuck on a Lightning charger instead of USB-C don’t hold Apple’s latest flagship from being a worthy upgrade. The iPhone 14 Pro Max is a beast of a phone, but it also delivers the best Apple has to offer. Its Always On Display makes keeping tabs on your notifications easier without being too distracting, while the new Dynamic Island is slick, if not useful. Throw in solid cameras, excellent performance and respectable battery life, and the iPhone 14 Pro Max is a satisfying flagship. That is, if you can bear to part with your physical SIM card.

The ultra-wide camera has been improved too and now has a larger sensor, shaper lens, and more Focus Pixels. Apple says these updates will greatly improve the iPhone 14 Pro’s macrophotography capability. I took some quick snaps, and it did not disappoint. How much of it is because of the larger new sensor, the new brighter display, or simply because the venue was well-lit is hard to say, and I’ll need more time to take more shots to know. With prices starting at S$1,649 and going all the way up to S$2,629 for a fully decked-out 1TB iPhone 14 Pro Max, these are not cheap phones. But based on my first impressions, it is unlikely that the new iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max will be anything other than great phones for those who can afford them.

The Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max is what it called a perfect upgrade from the previous gen smartphone. Appearance-wise, there are lots of things that have been modified such as the notch and the company added a new shade option. Moreover, you will also attain the first 48MP primary lens on any Apple phone, so rest assured while taking top-notch videos and photos. Furthermore, the cool always-on display is easier to use and will save battery life in the longer run. Though you will find a few minor changes from the iPhone 14 Pro, this flagship phone is worth every single penny if you are looking for a tall display and more storage space under the hood. Currently, there’s no better alternative to this phone, but as soon as something amazing appears on the surface. Lastly, if you are looking for professional camera features, you can check out the Galaxy Z Fold 4 smartphone which will provide robust camera software and hardware.

With the launch of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, Apple introduced an updated design that does away with the notch at the front for the TrueDepth camera. Instead, Apple has slimmed down the hardware and put the proximity sensor under the display, allowing for a smaller pill-shaped cutout.

As usual, it’s the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone Pro Max that are the beneficiaries of the biggest upgrades and there are a fair few of them this time around. I’m looking forwards to how well that always-on display works in particular. Are the upgrades worth it? One thing is certain, with prices rising, opting for the iPhone 14 Pro will be a more expensive choice than ever, starting at £1,099 SIM free (up a whopping £150 from last year), although the 14 Pro Max has remained the same price at £1,199. I’m also sure that, Apple’s decision to stick with the A15 Bionic on the regular iPhone 14 and 14 Plus and to leave out the always-on display means that those wanting the very best Apple will feel they have to move to the Pro models this year. I do get the feeling, though, that more than a few will simply stick with their iPhones 12 and 13 and wait another year until the 15 comes out. The new iPhone 14 goes on pre-order from Friday 9 September with the first units shipping out to customers and appearing in stores from the following week (16 September).

The iPhone 14 series is definitely the talk of the day. With the usual jokes and memes, criticisms and excitement going around, there's still no doubt that the iPhone is one of the most popular devices to get in Malaysia. While it doesn't seem there are many changes from the iPhone 13 series, we beg to differ. If you missed watching the livestream and just want a summary, we've got you covered. Without further ado, here are the 7 new features of the iPhone 14 series that seem lackluster, but are secretly great improvements (technically speaking).

In our early testing, the iPhone 14 Pro Max doesn't bring that much different on the outside as the 13 Pro Max. But the differences here are more than skin dee- and the Dynamic Island is a genuine change for the device. The lower-than-expected price is welcomed, but will it be enough for prospective upgraders?

The iPhone 14 Pro Max feels less like another iterative upgrade and more like a true leap forward for Apple's flagship. You get a powerful new 48MP camera, a replacement for the notch that's actually smart and an always-on display that can help make your life easier while saving battery life. The regular iPhone 14 Pro looks great, too, but the iPhone 14 Pro Max is your best bet if you prefer a larger display and longer battery life. Stay tuned for our full rated iPhone 14 Pro Max review.

Clearly, there are a lot of new iPhones to shop from, and each one offers a feature or two that the others do not. My ultimate buying advice is this: Visit your local Apple store and give each model a test drive. Run your most frequented apps, take pictures and videos, and get a feel for each phone's fit and finish. Naturally, your preferences will narrow down the options and allow you to choose the best iPhone for you.

The overall design of the iPhone 14 Pro series remains identical to its predecessors. It still features the same squared-off sides and triple-rear camera setup, so if you were hoping this would be a redesign year for Apple, you’re likely disappointed with the iPhone 14 Pro. However, there are two new colours options: ‘Space Black’ and ‘Deep Purple,’ with the latter looking great in person. The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max are available for pre-order on September 9th and release on September 16th. The iPhone 14 Pro Max will cost $1,549 and the smaller iPhone 14 Pro will cost $1,399.

It has all the latest bells and whistles, and no other iPhone comes close. It improves some core aspects of the smartphone experience, like the camera, the performance, and display utility, making it a safe, albeit not that exciting buy, especially when considering new phone categories, like foldables. Surely, this all boils down to a pretty penny — Apple is likely raising prices a bit, between $50 and $100, so the base iPhone 14 Pro Max, with 128GB of storage on deck, could carry a $1,149 price tag. Is that a hard pill to swallow? Surely, but considering what you get for your money, the price could be well justified... or not! It all comes down to you and your specific use cases. Regardless, the iPhone 14 Pro Max is shaping up to be an excellent choice for those who want a reliable device in their pockets.
