No two ways about it, the Apple iPhone 14 Pro is an impressive smartphone. In terms of its camera, performance and features it’s a better phone than last year’s iPhone 13 Pro (£949) and it doesn’t get anything badly wrong either, except perhaps the fact that it’s still stuck with Lightning connectivity. The price has gone up, which you’d expect in the current climate, but not by swingeing levels, and Apple has introduced a handful of fairly significant usability and safety improvements including Dynamic Island, the Always-On display, crash detection and SOS via satellite (although only in the US and Canada right now). In many ways, this makes it the very epitome of an iterative Apple iPhone release. It’s boring, yes, and expensive of course but the iPhone 14 Pro is, inevitably, the best iPhone Apple has released so far.

The iPhone 14 Pro is an excellent phone, even if it’s not necessarily a huge upgrade from the iPhone 13 Pro. If you’re coming from an older model – maybe an 11 Pro or one of the non-Pro phones – then the differences can be stark. The Dynamic Island is a silly name but turns an annoying design quirk into something useful, while the cameras are very powerful if pushing them to the limit is of interest. The display remains gorgeous, while the performance boosts might not make themselves known for a few years yet. However, it’s impossible to ignore the impending arrival of the iPhone 15 Pro, which will be packed with even more fancy features such as USB-C charging, a more powerful processor, new titanium design and more. If you want the best possible iPhone, then it’s worth waiting for the new model. That’s not to say the iPhone 14 Pro will no longer be a good option. We’re hoping for a price drop following the reveal of its successor, allowing you to get one of the best camera phones at a reduced rate.

This is what I want, far more so than any visual change for change’s sake, and the iPhone 14 Pro delivers it. Buy with confidence, and enjoy the very best smartphone ownership experience you can have. However, if you have an iPhone 13 Pro already, then there’s not much new here unless you’re really taken by the always-on screen and Dynamic Island, and it’s really the same story for anyone with an iPhone 12 Pro too. Anyone with an iPhone before the 12 will find it a considerable and worthwhile upgrade.

The iPhone is a polished product, so Apple does not have to stretch much when it comes to the hardware of the iPhone 14 Pro. The build quality, display, and battery are great just like last year's model, and the camera gained a lot of flexibility, useful features, and once again, a bit more image quality with the new image sensor. In contrast to the hardware capabilities, however, our world of information technology continues to evolve at breakneck speed. iOS 16 in particular takes this into account with numerous new features - and the iPhone 14 Pro picks up on these trends with Dynamic Island. However, iOS 16 also makes it to the previous year's generation with almost no drawbacks, and thus also the vast majority of features. What am I imparting with the above?

To some degree, the iPhone 14 Pro is a victim of its predecessor's success. The iPhone 13 Pro enjoyed a long reign atop our best smartphones and our own Kimberly Gedeon even recently named it the best overall iPhone to buy right now, a recommendation that I wholeheartedly agree with. The iPhone 14 Pro stumbles in a few key areas, battery life being the most problematic for me, but the less predictable photos are a frustrating step backward as well. The latter may still be solved with software tweaks or you can tinker with Photographic Styles or post-processing to tune it more to your tastes, but battery life isn’t going to get better at this point.

I am confident in saying that, based on my usage and time with the device, the iPhone 14 Pro is the best phone Apple’s made. (I’m not a fan of big phones, so the 6.7-inch screen on the iPhone 14 Pro Max doesn’t appeal to me.) Tom’s Guide’s Content Director Mark Spoonauer would argue that the new Pro Max is the superior device — and he might be right, given the Pro Max's longevity — but apart from battery life and screen size, these two phones boast the same capabilities. With its incredible cameras, beautiful display, and powerful performance, the iPhone 14 Pro outshines any of the competition. It’s faster, smoother, and its cameras win out against everything else, even the Pixel 6 Pro (though it’s a close call in some areas).

What I don’t know is if all these new ideas are worth it yet. If you’re the sort of person who’s willing to accept some rough edges to be on the bleeding edge, you’re going to have a lot of fun with the iPhone 14 Pro — in many ways, you’ll be figuring it out right alongside Apple. But if you’re happy with your current phone, it might be worth holding out for another year to see how some of these things work out.

Apple pulled off some unexpected surprises with the iPhone 14 Pro: there had been lots of solid rumors about the company switching from putting the front-facing camera and Face ID system in a pill-shaped cutout instead of the familiar notch, but the new “Dynamic Island” alert system came out of nowhere. And while it was getting clearer that Apple would have to follow the industry in using bigger camera sensors eventually, Apple went even further and rebooted its entire computational photography system as the Photonic Engine.

The overall experience with the Apple iPhone 14 Pro over the past six months has been positive and enjoyable. Would I buy the phone for myself? Well, I am not that rich yet. The iPhone 14 Pro debuted at Rs 1,29,999 for the 128GB storage variant going all the way up to Rs 1,79,999 for the top variant with 1TB storage. The selling price has come down by a good 10K over the past six months, which is good, but it’s still a stiff price tag. So should you buy it? If you have that kind of money to spend on a phone, then why not! The Apple iPhone 14 Pro is equipped with a powerful A16 Bionic chip that should take care of things for close to half a decade with new OS updates coming in. Then you have the rugged and signature Apple design, stutter-free software experience and last but not the least, the cameras.

That’s what makes the 14 Pro’s new features feel sort of refreshing. They put useful information where I need it when I need it — mostly without additional input from me. To live up to their full potential, more third-party app makers will need to get on board, but that seems likely to happen given that Dynamic Island looks like it’ll be on all iPhone 15 models. If that’s the case, it’ll be just in time to help me keep an eye on the Mariners’ postseason games.

When Apple announced the iPhone 14 Pro, it hyped up the phone's Dynamic Island, updated cameras, and new deep purple color. But now it's seven months later and we finally have all the major iOS 16 features that were teased at WWDC and Apple's iPhone event. Rival flagships including Google's Pixel 7 Pro and the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra are now out, too. So let's check in on the state of the iPhone 14 Pro in April 2023.

Having spent some time with an iPhone 13 last year, I can’t say that this is an absolute must-have upgrade unless you’re looking for a significant camera step-up. But if you’re coming due for a new phone after two or three years and want to be part of the Apple ecosystem, it’s on the shopping list for sure, perhaps more so for remote users when Satellite SOS — currently only available overseas — launches in Australia. The lack of storage options is a bit of an aggravation. However, I understand why. Apple wants you to buy a phone with more storage, and Apple wants you to buy more iCloud storage. That doesn’t stop it being annoying, as a user, to need to spend hundreds of dollars on storage that you may not use just to ensure your phone doesn’t run out of space. If I were paying for a new phone, after my experience with the iPhone 14 Pro, I’m confident that the performance would suit the needs of most users for at least 2 years to come. The photos and video you’ll get are excellent, so the only decision to make is how much storage you need. Given some of the options available in the iPhone range, the iPhone 14 Pro makes sense for power users, particularly camera buffs. But unless you need that higher end of performance and camera, or really want the dynamic island feature; it may be worth looking at a different model for financial savings. The iPhone 14 Pro costs $1,749.00 for the 128GB version, $1,899.00 for the 256GB, $2,249.00 for the 512GB and an eye-watering $2,599.00 for the 1TB version and is available from Apple direct, or through retail channels. I’ve genuinely enjoyed my time reviewing the iPhone 14 Pro and will take a look at the iPhone 14 Plus in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for more details on that.

The fact that the iPhone line-up fends off a litany of Android flagships to defend its title of the most popular premium phone in the world is no joke. For all our nitpicks and issues, the iPhone 14 Pro offers an exemplary albeit confirmative user experience. Buying an iPhone means living in Apple’s world and by Apple’s rules. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. The close match-up of hardware and software delivers a generally brilliant user experience with thoughtful flourishes strewn about. The cameras aren’t exciting or world-beating, but they deliver on point-and-shoot goodness for the masses and have a lot of headroom for the creatives. Meanwhile, the design continues to age like fine wine. Things like the Lightning connector and slow charging are issues, for sure. But are they dealbreakers or mere annoyances? That’s for the buyer to decide, but I’d say that even with a generational decline in battery endurance, it’s still decent enough to alleviate any serious battery anxiety. Honestly, my biggest gripe is something I’d never thought I’d be complaining about with an Apple product. Apple’s rush to integrate newer interface elements and feature sets comes with the trade-off of occasional glitches. Perhaps the software team could do with taking a more stoic approach like the hardware team. Ultimately, buying an iPhone has always been a trade-off between bleeding-edge specs and a formula Apple deems perfect. If you’re okay with that, the iPhone 14 Pro remains an exceptional smartphone in 2023.

Other phones, notably the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, remain far more competent at zoom photography, too. The iPhone 14 Pro also isn’t a massive leap, yet it packs enough features to make this the best phone you can buy right now.

So here we are in 2022 with an iPhone that once again delivers plenty of Apple firsts, but lacks the refinements to bring it to the next level. Don’t let that stop you from getting one, however. Unless you’re the sort of person who pores over every single detail of their device, you’ll be more than happy with the 14 Pro—especially if you’re moving up from anything older than an iPhone 11. And if you’re switching from an Android phone, this latest model is more like your old device than ever before—in most of the ways that matter.

I don’t want the phone I own and use every day to be an effort. It’s one of the reasons needy software like Oppo’s ColorOS and OnePlus’s OxygenOS frustrates. The iPhone 14 Pro works with me, providing all the functionality and quality I expect from a phone that costs $1,000, plus a wealth of features that hide from view yet enhance my ownership, whether that’s the 120Hz ProMotion screen or crash detection. Apple's iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max may look identical to last year's iPhone 13 Pro on the back, but don't let that fool you. It's the iPhone 14 Pro's screen where there's something different and wonderful going on. The iPhone's display notch, which has defined Face ID iPhones since 2017's iPhone X, has been replaced with a pill-shaped screen cutout that houses an upgraded TrueDepth camera system. On its own, that cutout will make some people happier than the notch did. But it's the space around the cutout, which now shows system alerts and background activities, that's become one of my favorite features.

The iPhone 14 Pro continues to be an excellent choice for users who want the absolute best "Pro" phone experience. While the design has remained largely unchanged compared to last year's iPhone 13 Pro, the combination of faster performance, better display, and improved cameras are significant when added together. In truth, the iPhone 14 Pro, and many of its predecessors are overkill for most users, however, if you want the best display and camera, it's an excellent premium choice and arguably the best $1000 phone of 2022.

The Apple iPhone 14 Pro showed very similar behavior to the iPhone 13 Pro, but its global score was slightly above its predecessor, and above the average of our database. The iPhone 14 Pro was tested with the “always-on display” mode turned off — a feature that we deactivate for all models in our tests for a fair comparison. The autonomy was slightly above average despite its small 3200 mAh battery, which means that the device is well-optimized. Indeed, the discharge currents were very low across all our use cases, reaching the top spot in discharging. However, in terms of autonomy, the device struggled when gaming, calling, and using the camera. The typical usage scenario was average though, with only 1.33% lost per night. The performance when streaming video and music was decent, and the autonomy when using GPS navigation on the go was excellent. The charging experience was poor, taking almost 2 hours to fill up the battery with the 20W wired charger, and 2 hours 19 minutes with the 15W wireless charger. The autonomy recovered after a 5-minute charge was only 3 hours and 9 minutes on average, which was far from the average of our database. The wireless charge efficiency was decent, but the wired charge efficiency was very low, one of the lowest in our database. The residual consumption of both wired and wireless chargers was well-controlled, with very low power. Compared with devices from the same Ultra-premium price range ($800+), the iPhone 14 Pro’s global score was above-average because of its decent autonomy and excellent efficiency thanks to its top score in discharging. But the charging score remained very low.

Is Apple iPhone 14 Pro worth its price tag? Well, Apple has never claimed its products are affordable. If you think the product delivers what all thing you need is a smartphone and are okay with the price tag, it justifies its price tag. I personally feel, iPhone 14 Pro is a great phone, but it's not perfect. If you're looking for a top-of-the-line iPhone with all the bells and whistles, you'll be happy with the 14 Pro. However, if you're looking for a more affordable option, lots of discount are being offered on the older iPhones which can be explored.

One could argue that there isn't much change year-on-year, or that what is new isn't quite the finished article. But then again, the iPhone 14 Pro sailed through most of our tests and left a good impression on us after a week of use. And, despite being two years old, the design still looks fresh against the competition. The price is high (£916 exc VAT) but that gets you an always-on-display, the Dynamic Island, a very good camera system and probably the most powerful mobile processor of all time. We can't say the iPhone 14 Pro is best in class but it is most definitely the best smartphone Apple has produced to date.

I took a good 3 weeks to settle in with the iPhone 14 Pro and I’m really glad I did. I got myself the 1TB variant and the price of RM7,799 is definitely painful. This is an extra RM600 from the iPhone 13 Pro which is still a relevant device today. I was hoping the iPhone to switch to USB-C this time around, but it didn’t, so this shaves some points off the chart. If you are getting an iPhone, you would eventually want to try out the whole ecosystem by adopting the iPad or the Apple Watch, or the Macbook. Only then you would be able to appreciate all things iPhone, but by then, you would have spent multiple times more than what you otherwise would on any other ecosystem. I still have a love-hate relationship with the iPhone especially when I have to go through a longer route to get simple things done like quickly dialing in somebody, or transferring files across my environment. But if iPhone solves these little quirks, I can see myself staying on the iPhone a lot longer than I thought I would. For now, I give it a Silver Pokdeward. Until we meet again on iPhone 15 series.

The iPhone 14 Pro is a solid iterative improvement over its predecessor. In the US, there hasn't been any price increase, which makes sense. Unfortunately, we aren't so lucky in India. What was already a luxury is now even harder to justify. If you're looking for the best iPhone in terms of features, camera quality and overall performance, you'll buy this phone (or its larger sibling) regardless of price, but for a lot of people, it's simply too far out of reach. Many Android phones today (and even older iPhones) offer all the functionality that most people want, for much less money, though maybe not with quite the same level of polish. The Dynamic Island is something you might want to show off, or at least play around with. For me, the novelty wore off soon enough and I found it less useful than I had hoped it would be, but I'll see how I feel as Apple and app developers come up with new ways to use it. Crash detection and satellite-based emergency messaging aren't relevant in India yet. A lot of the smaller quality-of-life improvements do add up though; I'm tempted by the low-light photo quality bumps across all cameras, and to a smaller degree, the always-on display. For anyone with an iPhone X (Review) or older, it might be time to consider an upgrade, and the iPhone 14 series offers quite a lot. However, the iPhone 13 Pro is still available for now, and costs a fair bit less at each storage tier, especially with festive sales on. You wouldn't really be missing out on much by choosing that instead. It's also now more than likely that USB Type-C and fast charging will be coming with next year's model, and you can't be blamed for wanting to wait for that.

The iPhone 14 Pro is the sweet spot for the best of Apple’s iPhone technology. This 6.1-inch device isn’t too big, and its front has been transformed with the new Dynamic Island and an excellent always-on display. It maintains the performance lead or rivals with a faster and more efficient A16 Bionic chip, and the updated camera array should please all but the most demanding smartphone photogs. If, however, you need the biggest iPhone screen available, paired with the performance of this phone, you’ll want to go for the pricier 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max.

I’m an Android user. And I’m not here to tell you that I’m “switching to the iPhone,” or that “I was wrong” about the iPhone, or any of the other sins Youtubers commit to capture your clicks. What I will do is tell you what I think of the iPhone 14 Pro, as an Android user, after three weeks – and to be frank it’s something you’ve probably heard before:

I don’t want the phone I own and use every day to be an effort. It’s one of the reasons needy software like Oppo’s ColorOS and OnePlus’s OxygenOS frustrates. The iPhone 14 Pro works with me, providing all the functionality and quality I expect from a phone that costs $1,000, plus a wealth of features that hide from view yet enhance my ownership, whether that’s the 120Hz ProMotion screen or crash detection.

On a personal level, I would have liked a switch to USB-C over Lightning and a bigger focus on faster charging for quicker top-ups when you’re in a pinch. Other phones, notably the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, remain far more competent at zoom photography, too. It’s not been a standout year for phone upgrades. Samsung did the bare minimum with the S22 series and Android makers have struggled to really push things forward. The iPhone 14 Pro also isn’t a massive leap, yet it packs enough features to make this the best phone you can buy right now.

The iPhone 14 Pro is packed full of interesting upgrades. The cutout at the front is smaller than previous generations, and the Dynamic Island makes engaging with notifications that much more interactive. The A16 Bionic is the fastest mobile platform around, the new 48MP camera at the back takes phenomenal photos, and the new OLED screen enables an always-on mode for the first time. You're still limited to the Lightning port, and there's no SIM slot in the U.S., but on the whole, the iPhone 14 Pro ticks all the right boxes.

It's not rhetoric to say that this is the best iPhone you can buy this year — unless of course, you're picking up the iPhone 14 Pro Max. But more importantly, there are a lot of changes coming to the phone this year including the Dynamic Island, Lock Screen, AOD, a new camera system, and satellite connectivity. That's a lot of "new" to this iPhone, for sure, and Apple's history of excellence comes along with it. But that takes me back to my friend who has bought every new iPhone as far back as I can remember, and this is the year that he skips. On the one hand, I get it. The iPhone 13 Pro is a great iPhone and still has all the power and camera chops you could want from a smartphone. Add to that, there are a lot of firsts in this new phone. It has a lot of new-to-Apple tech on board, and first-gen tech usually comes with a red flag. But when you factor in how much is new and just how different this iPhone is from its predecessors, I can't help but think that those who stick with the iPhone 13 are simply blinking at the wrong time.

The iPhone 14 Pro may not carry quite the same level of cachet as the Pro Max model, but don't let that fool you into thinking it's any less capable. Other than battery life, Apple's 14 Pro does everything the larger Max does with equal prowess. Most importantly, its new processor, added camera, faster screen, and Dynamic Island make the 14 Pro a more compelling choice than the standard iPhone 14. So while the iPhone 14 Pro Max is our Editors' Choice recommendation, the iPhone 14 Pro is only a tick behind it. And for many, the Pro's smaller form factor might be more appealing than the Max's additional battery life.

The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max are great phones with irreproachable build quality, gorgeous displays, terrific cameras, and blazing fast performance. They also come with useful new features that I hope no one would ever have to use: Emergency SOS via satellite and Crash Detection. Anyone who owns these phones will be very happy. That said, there are some thoughts worth pondering. The iPhone 14 lineup is a little curious this year because it seems like Apple wants to make changes to the way it positions its iPhones. It looks like they are trying to create more differentiation between the “Pro” iPhones and regular iPhones. Consider that the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max are the only ones to receive the always-on display, Dynamic Island, significantly upgraded camera systems, and a new chip, while the iPhone 14 is mostly a parts bin update, getting the chip and camera from last year’s iPhone 13 Pro. Perhaps we are too fixated on the design, but if you think about it the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max really are new phones – just wearing last year’s clothes.

Now, as I said before, the iPhone 14 Pro isn’t exciting, but in my day-to-day use, I keep gravitating back to an iPhone because the experience is reliable and consistent. This also applies to other iOS devices, no matter what kind of device or how old it is, the experience is always the same. It works well for the things I do, and it can keep doing it for prolonged periods of time. There are lots of other scenarios I can expand on, but the bottom line is that it just consistently and reliably works.

With a DXOMARK Selfie score of 145, the Apple iPhone 14 Pro achieves a new top score in our front camera ranking, surpassing the Huawei P50 Pro by one point. This latest version of Apple´s TrueDepth camera now comes with an autofocus system and a faster aperture (f/1.9 compared to f/2.2 on the previous models). These hardware modifications have contributed to a drastic improvement of various sub-scores in both Photo and Video. Video performance is specifically impressive. With a Video score of 154, the iPhone 14 Pro leads the front camera video ranking, thanks to new highs for Exposure, Color, and Stabilization. With a Photo score of 139, the 14 Pro doesn’t quite make it to the top spot here, but an increase of 11 points over the previous generation means a massive improvement, and the device delivers the best performance to date for Exposure and Bokeh. Overall, the Apple iPhone 14 Pro is an easy choice for any smartphone users who like to produce image and video content using the front camera.

The iPhone 14 Pro is a familiar looking smartphone that is different in terms of experience. Part of the differentiating experience is enabled by screen related upgrades. Dynamic Island, for instance, proves useful in daily usage. Likewise, Apple’s approach to the always-on display and redesigned lock screen is both novel and functional. Despite its high starting price of Rs 1,29,990, the Apple iPhone 14 Pro has enough newness to convince enthusiasts for an upgrade.

At first glance it would be easy to dismiss the iPhone 14 Pro as just the same as previous models. But look beneath the surface and you find Apple exploring new – for it at least – ideas, or new for it at least. The animated interface makes the phone feel more reactive and alive. The pill-shaped dynamic island grows and expands in a fluid fashion, bringing together system alerts and on-going tasks with the potential to transform how the phone works. The always-on display with the redesigned lock screen from iOS 16 feels similar with its live notifications and widgets. But both features need developers to buy into Apple’s ideas and to update their apps to make them really sing. For now the notch is a handy place for Spotify, timers and other bits to live. Even if I wouldn’t call it a massive upgrade on the already excellent 13 Pro, embracing a higher-resolution sensor for the cameras is a new approach for Apple, too, with good results, particularly in challenging light conditions. On top you get everything that is good about an iPhone: strong battery life, very fast performance that lasts years, long software support, a truly stunning screen, Face ID, recycled materials and a large ecosystem. It is just a shame about the price rise outside the US – £1,099 is an awful lot to spend, particularly in a cost of living crisis. A new battery for your old phone might be a better buy this year.

The iPhone 14 is a great smartphone that’s perfect for everyday mobile computing. With this latest generation of iPhone, Apple seems to have solved a lot of the pain points of past. The hardware is tough and durable. The battery lasts forever and can go ages without charging. The cameras are amazing and capable of outshining my meagre photography skills. The 14 Pro is basically waterproof. The cellular networking is super fast. FaceID is the best security system yet developed, and works better and faster than ever. The dynamic island is fun and functional. The display is gorgeous and I will never go back to a lesser screen. Of course, a lot of this is available on the iPhone 13 and even the 12, but not all of it. If you have an iPhone 13 this is an incremental upgrade, though a fun one. If you have the cash to spare, I’m sure you’ll be tempted to splurge. If you have an iPhone 12 or older, it’s a no-brainer: the iPhone 14 Pro is a great upgrade. Yes, the iPhone 14 Pro costs a small fortune, but it’s oh so worth it.

The iPhone 14 Pro is undoubtedly the best iPhone you can buy, with significant upgrades over the iPhone 13 Pro. The Dynamic Island is the standout feature, bringing what is usually a frustration of modern smartphones and making it a part of the core experience with an impressive blend of hardware and software. The always-on display is another nice touch, providing full access to your wallpaper, widgets and notifications at any time. It’ll certainly make it difficult to go back to an iPhone without it. The 48Mp rear camera sensor is another solid addition to this year’s Pro line-up, not only offering significant gains in low-light environments but added detail and even 2x zoom without a dedicated 2x telephoto lens. The 3x telephoto has you covered for closer shots, but Android alternatives can zoom further. Throw in additional features like the top-end A16 Bionic, car crash detection, satellite connectivity and a truly premium build and you’ve got one of the most capable smartphones available.

The Apple iPhone 14 Pro is the best iPhone Apple has made so far, as the maker just loves to point out. And it is - it has the best screen, cameras, performance, speakers and durability not only among the iPhones but across all flagship smartphones. It introduces more than enough upgrades over the previous generation to make it interesting - an improved OLED with higher brightness, a smaller cutout with cool animations, and always-on option. The cameras have been updated all around, but the primary with its 48MP sensor and 2x lossless zoom is the showstopper, of course. The new generation comes with interesting additions like global satellite connection for emergency and crash detection with automatic emergency call. The new faster chipset with improved stability is also worth mentioning. Even with so many updates, the iPhone 14 Pro looks like the old iPhones, and if it weren't for the new Deep Purple color and the pill-shaped cutout, you wouldn't even know. And this design stasis may not be everyone's favorite, even if this design is a self-proclaimed toughest in the world.

Practically speaking, no. But then practicality also depends on what you want from your phone. If you want the absolute best phone at the moment, the iPhone 14 Pro should be on your radar. It is expensive, but unlike an expensive Android phone which is good enough for just two years of optimum use, a phone like the iPhone 14 Pro will easily last four years or so before you pass it on to a friend or family member, who may not need a cutting-edge phone, and they can use it for another two years. The iPhone 14 Pro, the price of which starts from Rs 1,29,900, is also worth buying because it doesn't come with the drama, cheap thrills, cut-price components and shenanigans that I associate with most Android phones nowadays. It uses top quality hardware, its design is seamless and classy, and its iOS 16 is cohesive and slick.

The iPhone 14 Pro combines a reasonable 6.1" size with incredibly powerful performance, an upgraded camera and a clever new Dynamic Island feature, but at the same time it looks very, very similar to the previous model. Is the new 48-megapixel sensor worth upgrading? If you are a photo geek, maybe. Is the Dynamic Island the thing to make you switch? Well, it's cool, but not quite a game-changer. Looking in retrospect, the 13 Pro delivered some truly ground-breaking changes: a ProMotion screen and much better battery life instantly come to mind. And the iPhone 14 Pro? Well, it feels like an iPhone 13S in comparison, an iterative upgrade. If that "S", however, sounds like satellite connectivity to you and you find this feature important, you might just have found the reason to upgrade right now. But for all else, this feels like a mature product getting a mature yearly refresh: it gets better in pretty much every subtle and slightly boring way. Nice, but not exactly something that will get technology thrill seekers' blood going.

Apple calls it the Dynamic Island, and it enlarges and shrinks when you receive a call and to display the music you're playing, timers and other notifications. I know it's not the best name, but it's truly one of the best features on the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max.

What's worth noting are the pricing changes to older iPhone models officially offered by Apple. All the details are here, but the short of it is that the older iPhone 13 Pro is no longer offered (likely because the iPhone 14 series inherited its chipset and camera), while the rest of the range is S$150 cheaper than its previous official prices. Also, you can still get an older but smaller iPhone 13 Mini, if you really missed the compact form factor. We hope this buying guide clarifies what iPhone 14 model is best suited for your needs. It honestly feels like the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max is the way to go in 2022 ...something that's abundantly clear when you read our iPhone 14 review. The latest pair of super premium phones from Apple have been treated to a substantial upgrade, including a fabulous new always-on screen that never stops glowing, interactive camera notch – called the Dynamic Island – that magically changes depending on what's running in the background, and a more powerful A16 processor that takes performance to a whole new level. The main rear camera has also been boosted with a bigger sensor making sure every image looks crystal clear and packed with detail, while the front-facing gets autofocus (a first for iPhone) to improve your selfies and video calls. The Pro lineup remains the only way to get a silky smooth ProMotion 120Hz display, telephoto camera for lossless zoom, and – if you can afford the extra cost – a huge 1TB of internal storage. This is another blockbuster update to the iPhone Pro series and, for the first time in years, it's now easier than ever to recommend spending the extra cash as the standard iPhone 14 lacks all of these barnstorming updates. The Pro is undoubtedly the best iPhone you can buy this year. Yes, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone Pro Max are ludicrously expensive (you'll need to hunt for the best iPhone 14 Pro deals if you decide to plump for these models) but, having had all of the new iPhone models in our hands, it's abundantly clear that switching to the iPhone 14 Pro is definitely worth every penny. They come highly recommended.

The biggest downside to the iPhone 14 Pro is the lack of a physical SIM tray in the U.S. models, which might irritate some people. I was also less than impressed with the device in our battery life test. For $999, you can’t go wrong with the iPhone 14 Pro. It’s less worthwhile of an upgrade over the iPhone 13 Pro, but anything older pales in comparison. Even the iPhone 12 Pro trails the iPhone 14 Pro, given the older phone’s lackluster (at best) battery life. I think that the iPhone 14 Pro is truly the best phone that Apple has ever released, crushing everything else before it. It easily earns my utmost recommendation.

The Apple iPhone 14 Pro is without a doubt the most exciting of the four new iPhone 14 models. All these upgrades and changes have set the iPhone 14 Pro up to be the best iPhone the company has made and the Pro is now definitely Pro. Sure, the camera updates feel less significant than I expected. But anyone upgrading from an older phone will appreciate what Apple has to offer.

These are the iPhones to get, so long as their price tags fit your budget. And thankfully, they have remained the same as those of the previous generation. Once again, the iPhone 14 Pro Max is the one to get if you value screen size, multitasking capabilities, and battery capacity. The smaller and lighter Pro is easier to handle without skimping on power and features. A starter iPhone 14 Pro with 128GB of built-in storage costs $999, while the bigger Max is $100 more for the same amount of memory. Doubling the memory costs another $100, while opting for 512GB or 1TB adds $300 and $500 to the base price, respectively. And if you are a camera enthusiast, I highly recommend skipping the base storage option, as RAW image files and 4K video clips take up a lot of space.

There’s a lot of that sort of thing in the iPhone 14 Pro, whose prices in the United States still start at $999 and go up. Apple’s late to having an always-on display, but it’s much more vibrant than other always-on displays. In the United States, Apple’s going all in on eSIM, which no one else is really doing. There’s a basic satellite connectivity system that isn’t quite like anything else we’ve heard about, but Apple is going to ship millions of these phones with the service coming online later this year. All in all, there are more beginnings of big ideas in the new iPhone 14 Pro than we’ve seen in an iPhone for a long time. That’s the easiest way to think about the iPhone 14 Pro — it feels like the first step toward a lot of new things for Apple and the iPhone and maybe the first glimpse of an entirely new kind of iPhone. But that doesn’t mean all these things are perfect yet.

From the outside, the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max don’t look dramatically different from their predecessors, aside from the Dynamic Island. But thanks to the Always On Display and crisis-preparedness features like crash detection and Emergency SOS, the iPhone 14 Pros feel potentially more useful in unforeseen circumstances. Sure, the camera updates feel less significant than I expected. But anyone upgrading from an older phone will appreciate what Apple has to offer.

By finally embracing features that Android phones have long had, like smaller front camera cutouts and always-on displays, the iPhone 14 Pro brings conveniences that iOS users will appreciate. Apple’s unique approach with Dynamic Island feels slick, and though its camera updates don’t translate to dramatic photography improvements, the iPhone 14 Pro still takes excellent pictures and video. Controversial decisions like removing the SIM card slot and still being stuck on a Lightning charger instead of USB-C don’t hold Apple’s latest flagship from being a worthy upgrade. The iPhone 14 Pro Max is a beast of a phone, but it also delivers the best Apple has to offer. Its Always On Display makes keeping tabs on your notifications easier without being too distracting, while the new Dynamic Island is slick, if not useful. Throw in solid cameras, excellent performance and respectable battery life, and the iPhone 14 Pro Max is a satisfying flagship. That is, if you can bear to part with your physical SIM card.

The Apple iPhone 14 Pro is perfect for those looking for a flagship level performance in a compact size. Even though the A16 Bionic chipset doesn’t look like a major upgrade from the A15, we still get an overall improvement in performance. The new 48MP camera lens is a major upgrade from the last year’s Pro model. I am pretty happy to see new features like satellite connectivity along with always-on-display mode. Stay tuned with Cashify as the full review of the Apple iPhone 14 Pro will be coming soon.

The ultra-wide camera has been improved too and now has a larger sensor, shaper lens, and more Focus Pixels. Apple says these updates will greatly improve the iPhone 14 Pro’s macrophotography capability. I took some quick snaps, and it did not disappoint. How much of it is because of the larger new sensor, the new brighter display, or simply because the venue was well-lit is hard to say, and I’ll need more time to take more shots to know. With prices starting at S$1,649 and going all the way up to S$2,629 for a fully decked-out 1TB iPhone 14 Pro Max, these are not cheap phones. But based on my first impressions, it is unlikely that the new iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max will be anything other than great phones for those who can afford them.

With the launch of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, Apple introduced an updated design that does away with the notch at the front for the TrueDepth camera. Instead, Apple has slimmed down the hardware and put the proximity sensor under the display, allowing for a smaller pill-shaped cutout.

The Apple iPhone 14 Pro is without a doubt the most exciting of the four new iPhone 14 models. It's got a fresh design, camera upgrades, processor upgrades and display improvements, plus the Dynamic Island feature is very cool. All these upgrades and changes have set the iPhone 14 Pro up to be the best iPhone the company has made and the Pro is now definitely Pro.

Apple iPhone 14 Pro sets the table for the future of the iPhone line. It takes a potential negative, like the notch, and turns it into an intriguing new interface. By adding a 48MP camera, always-on display and adaptive refresh rates, Apple finally puts the phone on a more level playing field with Android competitors and beats everyone to the stratospheric punch with satellite-enabled communications. The phone - and the bigger iPhone 14 Pro Max - also get the latest Apple mobile silicon for what could be best-in-class performance and a promise that you're getting what you pay for.

As usual, it’s the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone Pro Max that are the beneficiaries of the biggest upgrades and there are a fair few of them this time around. I’m looking forwards to how well that always-on display works in particular. Are the upgrades worth it? One thing is certain, with prices rising, opting for the iPhone 14 Pro will be a more expensive choice than ever, starting at £1,099 SIM free (up a whopping £150 from last year), although the 14 Pro Max has remained the same price at £1,199. I’m also sure that, Apple’s decision to stick with the A15 Bionic on the regular iPhone 14 and 14 Plus and to leave out the always-on display means that those wanting the very best Apple will feel they have to move to the Pro models this year. I do get the feeling, though, that more than a few will simply stick with their iPhones 12 and 13 and wait another year until the 15 comes out. The new iPhone 14 goes on pre-order from Friday 9 September with the first units shipping out to customers and appearing in stores from the following week (16 September).

The iPhone 14 series is definitely the talk of the day. With the usual jokes and memes, criticisms and excitement going around, there's still no doubt that the iPhone is one of the most popular devices to get in Malaysia. While it doesn't seem there are many changes from the iPhone 13 series, we beg to differ. If you missed watching the livestream and just want a summary, we've got you covered. Without further ado, here are the 7 new features of the iPhone 14 series that seem lackluster, but are secretly great improvements (technically speaking).

Clearly, there are a lot of new iPhones to shop from, and each one offers a feature or two that the others do not. My ultimate buying advice is this: Visit your local Apple store and give each model a test drive. Run your most frequented apps, take pictures and videos, and get a feel for each phone's fit and finish. Naturally, your preferences will narrow down the options and allow you to choose the best iPhone for you.

The overall design of the iPhone 14 Pro series remains identical to its predecessors. It still features the same squared-off sides and triple-rear camera setup, so if you were hoping this would be a redesign year for Apple, you’re likely disappointed with the iPhone 14 Pro. However, there are two new colours options: ‘Space Black’ and ‘Deep Purple,’ with the latter looking great in person. The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max are available for pre-order on September 9th and release on September 16th. The iPhone 14 Pro Max will cost $1,549 and the smaller iPhone 14 Pro will cost $1,399.

The iPhone 14 Pro is a device that you cannot avoid in the conversation of the best phone around. It combines a reasonable 6.1" size with incredibly powerful performance, and while many other phones deliver the performance, there are currently only a few options that do that at this compact form factor. It shows Apple's relentless focus on delivering the very best and improving the fundamentals of the smartphone experience: the processor, the camera, and the software. The iPhone 14 Pro is not as novel or exciting as foldable phones or some other experimental gadget, but it's a tried and tested form factor that will not disappoint and that will be supported diligently for years to come. However, all of that is also rumored to now come at a starting price of $1,100, one Benjamin more than previous generations, and whether it's worth spending that much on a phone... well, this is something for you to decide.
