不足300美元的奢侈。 C100PA Chromebook Flip是模仿联想Yoga系列采用360度转轴设计的一款最新机型。除了纤薄的铝合金机身,易用的键盘,和实惠的价位,它还有很多的故事需要我们了解。

The Asus Chromebook Flip C100PA is a solid device for light users, but its disappointing flippy screen feature bumps the system up to a premium price for those looking for a cheap Chromebook. The £200 Asus Chromebook C201 doesn’t have the flexible hinge, but comes in a full £50 cheaper.

This ASUS Chromebook Flip will be the third ASUS laptop I’ve purchased and the first Chromebook I’ve owned. I really enjoy it. It’s fun to use, it turns on and reboots quickly, it’s extremely portable, and it’s surprisingly spacious to type and work on for a 10-inch laptop. It’s certainly not as powerful as a laptop you could get for $350 or $450, but Chrome OS is so lightweight that you don’t need that much power.

The ASUS Chromebook Flip makes a nice ultra-portable Chromebook. Students or businesses heavily invested in the Google ecosystem will find this little 2-in-1 useful for work and some entertainment. People who already know they like ChromeOS will also enjoy using it, so long as the small design doesn’t frustrate them.

The ASUS Chromebook Flip C100PA is unique in that it is the only one on the market that can function both as a laptop or a tablet but the system also deserves recognition for its low price and exceptional build quality. This is a very well designed Chromebook. It does have a few faults though including performance that is below much of the competition and a smaller keyboard that can be difficult to use for some.

The Asus Chromebook Flip isn't perfect, but it's an excellent little piece of kit. And for $249 (about £160, AU$337), it's so temptingly affordable that you might want to pick one up just to have a Chrome OS device on hand – even if you already own a MacBook or Windows laptop. I sure as hell want to. Aside from the alluring price tag, the Flip is one of the best built Chromebooks to pave the way forward for more convertibles. Touchscreen functionality feels a bit more thought out, with a screen that actually rotates for once.

As I said from the outset, you'll be hard-pressed to find another Chromebook with this kind of convertible design. Lenovo had the similar N20p, for example, but it gotlukewarm reviews and is no longer available on the company's site. That leaves a couple worthy competitors, none of them with a 360-degree hinge.

The Asus Chromebook Flip C100 packs a lot of features into a small, low-cost package, including a touchscreen, hybrid hinge, and aluminum body. The biggest trade-off is slower performance, as well as the cramped input methods and small screen. This, or any sub-13-inch Chromebook is never going to be your all-day productivity machine.

All told, the C101PA is certainly affordable, it just isn’t as affordable as some of its competitors. Acer’s Chromebook R11 accomplishes the same tablet feats as the C101PA, but for a bit less. The HP Chromebook 14 has similar internals to Asus’s Chromebook, and while HP’s device isn't convertible, it is cheaper. When other devices do what the C101PA does, but for cheaper, it’s hard to see the value.

If you’re looking for an inexpensive convertible that doesn’t feel cheap, then the C100PA should go to the top of your list. In Chromebook terms it’s one of the best we’ve used, but only if you’re happy with a small screen. Road warriors will appreciate the long battery life and lightweight chassis, while everyone else could soon find themselves beguiled by its design aesthetics and no fuss performance.

The Asus Chromebook Flip is a thin, light, inexpensive and very well-built laptop that also functions as a tablet. More than acceptable performance is accompanied by all-day battery life, and while the Chrome OS-powered machine works best in laptop mode, the 10.1in touchscreen is reasonable for tablet duties.

I’m in two minds about the Flip. I like the size, the build, the style, the battery life. The keyboard, speakers and display are all rather good too. But for the money you can get Android tablets with the same size but higher resolution screens and bigger, more powerful Windows 10 machines. Yes, the Chromebook boots faster and is more secure but the HP Stream-series laptops are far more versatile. As it stands, the Chromebook Flip is a nice bit of kit that either needs a bigger screen or a lower sticker price to be wholeheartedly recommended.

Ultimately, as I've said before, the Asus Chromebook Flip (C100PA-DB02) is like the Google Chromebook Pixel in miniature, and is also a lot less expensive. From the aluminum construction to the convertible design, from the Rockchip-powered performance to the 11-hour battery life, the Flip is one of the most impressive offerings we've seen in the category, replacing the HP Chromebook 11 as our top pick for Chrome-based laptops.

The Asus Chromebook Flip C302A is not the best-selling Asus Chromebook on Amazon. That distinction currently goes to its cousin, the Asus Chromebook C202A, which is actually the only low-cost Chromebook I’d recommend. When you’re ready to step up to advanced features, however, such as a nicer display, 360-degree hinge, and a real metal chassis, you can stay within the Asus family and graduate to the Chromebook Flip C302A. It’s a Chromebook that you can keep using for years (perhaps even the full five years that Google promises to support it) without feeling constrained by the hardware. And when Android support becomes official, I know you’ll like that tablet mode.

Asus has delivered a good high-end Chromebook here -- but it is expensive. The real question is whether it does enough for the price, or whether it's worth shelling out for a full-fat laptop for all the extra application support and storage that these offer. With Android apps for Chrome OS potentially a game-changer in this respect, the Asus Chromebook C302 Flip has come along at an interesting time.

We're not there yet, and so the highest praise I can give Asus is that this fairly innocuous and forgettable computer is innocuous and forgettable in the best ways: it looks good, it works well, and I don't have to worry about it. It's a great baseline for future Chromebooks to either match or try to beat. It's not necessarily the best one, but it's a solid starting point for what you should expect. It's standard-issue.

For a Chromebook, ASUS C302CA-DHM4 is quite a heavy-duty unit. Its Core m3 processor and 4GB RAM means your browsing experience will be same than in regular, Windows based laptops. Also the flash storage of 64 gigabytes is double from what you usually see in Chromebooks. The Full HD display is sweet, turning a full 360 degrees, giving you a Chrome tablet to play with. Battery life has been verified as a solid 8-10 hours. Sure, the Asus is tad more expensive than your typical Chrome laptop, but for the money you get excellent quality and performance!

The Chromebook Flip feels like something new: the fusion of the medium-sized Android tablet with a Chromebook. Nature doesn’t necessarily favor new mutations. The Flip feels a little large for a tablet, and slightly too small for a Chromebook. But one thing seems certain: If a Chromebook supports Android, it needs to be a convertible. Here, the Flip has the right idea.

The Asus Chromebook Flip C101PA is a capable and likable convertible, but you'll find yourself squinting and zooming to read its 10.1-inch screen and typing gingerly on its downsized keyboard.

As it stands, I think many of you will need to wait it out and get the larger storage version. A worthy update all around, though and a proof positive that iterative design on a great product can yeild some really nice results.

The Flip C101 is a solid pick so long as you're sympatico with the Chromebook concept as a whole. We have no quibbles with the Chrome OS environment and its fast, smooth browsing experience. And there is a decent selection of Chrome-specific apps to download, some of which run locally for times when you don’t have Internet access. The big news this year, of course, is the arrival of support for running Android apps on select Chrome devices, this Flip C101 among them.

The rugged construction of the C213 will definitely appeal to those who intend to either give this to a child or want to use it themselves in harsher conditions. Having an easy to repair modular design is a welcome feature in these days of soldered laptop components.
