The ASUS Vivobook Pro 14 OLED proves that you don’t need a bulky gaming machine to get powerful performance. This ASUS laptop delivers a snappy experience with its RTX 3050 graphics and Ryzen 9 processor, and an immersive and enjoyable overall experience thanks to its OLED display. Priced at P74,995, the Vivobook Pro 14 OLED is a good buy and gives you a solid price-to-performance ratio.

Our review of the VivoBook Pro 14 OLED in the Philippines shows that the top-end variant of the VivoBook series makes for a great laptop for creatives, especially with features like an RTX 3050 GPU and a Ryzen 9 processor. While the VivoBook Pro 14 OLED does have its fair share of compromises, there’s no questioning the fact that it has one of the best OLED displays for its price.

Asus Vivobook Pro 14 OLED Review: Snappy Performance And A Smooth Screen Assuming this Vivobook stays at the price I’ve been given, it’s a great deal. It also seems like, as we said of the 13-inch MacBook Pro, a bit of a tweener. Realistically, I’m not sure how large the constituency is who’s looking for a processor this powerful with a discrete GPU but is also fine with just 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. The so-so battery life, given this device’s thin and light stature, may limit the audience further. I see this mostly as a device for people looking for a primary driver who want to game or edit on the side. This is a good affordable option for that crowd, but you’re also somewhat getting what you pay for — editors, or others with GPU-heavy workloads, who can afford to spend a bit more on the 14-inch MacBook Pro should absolutely do so, and gamers who can live without the OLED screen can get a more powerful GPU, more RAM, and much better battery life in the Zephyrus G14. But I’m still glad the package exists; 90Hz OLED screens are really a joy to use, and they’re a thing I hope we see more of at this accessible price point down the road.

The Asus Vivobook Pro 14 is a great option if you’re looking to mix business and pleasure. Not only will it perform well in day-to-day office work, with a big enough battery to get you through a workday without a charger, but the great sound quality and beautiful OLED display will also benefit you when you’re looking to relax and entertain yourself. Granted, the quality of the webcam could be better, and the bloatware definitely isn’t necessary. But overall this laptop offers a lot of great features at a reasonable price, and is well worth checking out if you’re in the market for a high-performance ultraportable with an OLED display. If you can’t find the Asus Vivobook Pro 14 or aren’t interested in its features, the Dell XPS 15 OLED is a pretty similar laptop with a more attractive design, though with Intel’s 11th Gen chips it can’t match the AMD-powered Vivobook’s performance or power efficiency.

We think the Vivobook Pro 14 OLED makes sense for students and home users looking to balance portability, display size, and pricing. The OLED display is excellent by every measure and arguably the best you’ll find on any laptop sold for $1,199. We also enjoyed the responsive touchpad and crisp keyboard. However, the laptop’s performance is nowhere near what we expected given its specifications. Buyers hoping the Vivobook Pro 14 can keep pace with similar 15-inch laptops will be disappointed. Asus also misses on connectivity and the laptop’s design, though passable, fails to stand out. That means gamers and content creators should take a pass. The Dell XPS 15, Razer Blade 14, and MacBook Pro 16 are a bit larger and heavier, but improved performance is worth a minor step up in size. The Vivobook Pro 14 ultimately fails to live up to its professional badging. Thankfully, Asus says this laptop will be available sometime between October and December 2021 so you have time to decide.
