Reviews for the Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe ZS570KL

We do not have any second thoughts about the phone being a beast when it comes to the spec sheet and its performance. But what we think is going to hit Asus the hardest in the case of the Zenfone 3 Deluxe is the price of the smartphone. Asus has priced Zenfone 3 Deluxe at Rs. 62,999 which is more than the double of what OnePlus is charging for OnePlus 3T which offers a similar processor. In fact, we did not really see a humongous difference between the performance of the Deluxe and Lenovo Z2 Plus and the latter just costs Rs. 15,000. Yes, the Zenfone 3 Deluxe is a Hulk in terms of performance and that 256 GB of onboard storage is a massive plus, but its Hulk-like price is likely to make consumers hesitate from investing in it, especially when you consider the level of competition around it.

Overall, Asus has crafted a very good smartphone with the ZenFone 3 Deluxe. Here we have a phone with an all-aluminum construction, decent display, an extremely fast processing package, good cameras, 64GB of expandable storage, and a ton more for just $499 completely unlocked.

The ASUS ZenFone 3 Deluxe isn't a terrible phone, but it's extremely hard to recommend over its competitors. While its specs are decent, its software and camera drag it down. The price is also a problem; it is lower than most flagships' from larger companies, but other phones offer justification for their higher prices in the form of useful features. I would honestly hesitate to recommend this phone even if its MSRP were $100 lower, thanks to the existence of phones like the ZTE Axon 7 and the heavily-mentioned OnePlus 3T.

The ASUS ZenFone 3 Deluxe is an ambitious phone, but it doesn't quite deliver everything you expect at this price point. We liked the antenna-less rear design, but weren't too keen on the oblong-shape fingerprint scanner, and the rest of the design is quite derivative without any fresh elements that we haven't seen before.

The Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe has a luxurious build that's overshadowed by bloatware and poor performance -- you're better off with the OnePlus 3T or a cheaper ZenFone 3.

It's worth a shot, the ZenFone 3 Deluxe, even at its atrocious price tag of Rs 49,999. Because there's nothing visibly wrong with the smartphone. It has a premium build, a good screen, good all-round performance, capable set of cameras and good battery life. It's a flagship smartphone in all its right. It's expensive because it has all the goodies.

This special edition ZenFone 3 Deluxe is priced at Rs. 62,999, which makes it a good flagship contender. It’s also the only Android option to offer this much onboard storage plus the ability to expand it further. With streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video now supporting offline viewing, it doesn’t hurt to have more storage.

At the end of it all Asus’s first flagship offering falls short of the competition. While the top-of-the-line specifications look great on paper, it’s the software experience that is either lacking, or gets in your way. I noticed how the software felt unnecessarily bloated. It seems to have taken away what should have been a buttery smooth software user experience. The same software showed its ugly face once again in the camera section where over processing leads to some flat-looking images. Asus really needs to take a complete u-turn when it comes to software keeping in mind where it’s headed (the premium segment).

No. Asus’ ZenUI, slow updates, and janky camera make the Zenfone 3 Deluxe a no go. You can buy a number of other phones with better cameras, better performance, and cleaner software for the same price or less.

With the Zenfone 3 Deluxe, Asus has devised a full-fledged plan to enter the premium market, something we never would've thought until few months back. Although the Taiwanese tech company is taking baby steps in this particular segment, it has managed to bring a worthy smartphone. Those who loved the Zenfone 3 Deluxe ZS570KL but are not willing to spend Rs 62,999, can buy the ZS550KL model with Rs 49,999. The lower-priced model comes with less powerful cameras, SoC and few other changes.

Asus may consider its ZenFone 3 Deluxe as a contender to the iPhone 7 Plus, Galaxy S7 Edge and Pixel XL. Unfortunately, despite Asus’ best efforts to make the ZenFone 3 Deluxe the king of the smartphone market, I doubt someone would be ready to pay Rs 62,999. That’s a high price to pay for this phone especially since it doesn’t exactly outperform the OnePlus 3T, which sells for Rs 34,999 for the 128GB variant and even packs a Snapdragon 821 processor and 6GB RAM. Yes, the standard has been raised too high.

Asus has improved a lot with this generation of Zenfone devices. The Zenfone 3 Deluxe in particular represents their foray into the flagship segment and truth be told, it is a pretty good attempt too. Unfortunately the competition is way too far ahead and without any defining feature, it is rather hard to recommend the Zenfone 3 Deluxe.

Despite what other people may think, the ZF3 Deluxe is a relatively good smartphone offering from ASUS. We like the overall design of the phone, as minimalist as it is, and despite its flaws (which can be addressed by software patches down the line), it’s been a great daily driver for us the past few weeks we’ve been using it.

The ZenFone 3 Deluxe features a beautiful design, a great looking display, and comes with a ton of features, but so do a lot of other smartphones, and the Deluxe just falls short in too many key areas to make it really stand out from the crowd.

With phones like the Google Pixel, Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, Moto Z, and the iPhone 7 lurking just around the corner, this isn’t the flagship phone you should be spending 50k on. Both the Moto Z and OnePlus 3 make better, and cheaper options, while the iPhone and Pixel are better choices for those who can afford them.

Overall, the 5.7” ASUS ZenFone 3 Deluxe is a strong product, that compares well to other flagship smartphones in its class. There are other smartphones in this class with a few more features, but if you dig the ZenFone 3 Deluxe’s design and are shopping for an unlocked smartphone, we think you’ll be happy with its performance, battery life, camera, build and design quality.

Asus knows how to make over-the-top smartphones — with 6GB RAM and 256GB storage, it even beats most ultrabooks out in the market. That does not even count the Snapdragon 821 variant they have lined-up. When they held back, they did so sensibly — just like with the option for 1080p display to conserve battery life.

Those who are willing to spend another $270 should purchase a Google Pixel XL, which has one of the best cameras on the market and lasts 3 hours longer on a charge. If you want an unlocked device with a strong sense of style, plenty of performance and great selfie capabilities, the ZenFone 3 Deluxe is a good choice, but the camera could be better.

The ZenFone 3 Deluxe is a gorgeous phone with an eye-poppingly vibrant display and a UI to match. It's $500 price seems like a bargain when you compare this phone to similarly sized flagships that go for hundreds more, but budget-conscious users may prefer the $399 OnePlus 3, which has nearly identical performance, storage and screen quality.

Despite missing a premium software feel, the Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe pretty nails most of our checklist as a flagship phone. And with an attractive pricing at P34,995 pesos or about $700 USD and with chart-topping performance, this makes the Deluxe more compelling flagship Android phone to buy. Although we’d still wish Asus should had fixed some of the software glitches before they’ve released it. Nonetheless, we’re really glad to see more takes from Asus on what’s a premium phone should be.

According to comparison between Xiaomi MI5S Plus and Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe., we know Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe has some advantages in design, craftsmanship, performance and camera, but Xiaomi MI5S Plus also has its own merits such as battery and price. If you are looking for a cheaper RAM 6GB Snapdragon 821 smartphone, Xiaomi MI5S Plus is a good choice, if you don’t mind the price, of course, you can try Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe first.

Asus Zenfone Deluxe has showed us its great ability in camera, performance and design, especially the hidden antenna design. Because Asus has made innovation and solution for better design that iphone can’t solve. Only one thing we may not be very satisfied is the price. According to the official, it will sell at 4,999 yuan, $833, which can be the best rival of Iphone 7 and Samsung Note 7. But right now Asus Zenfone 3 is available at $457.62, you can use coupon code: GB9% to catch it at $416.43.

What remains, though, is the same is 1080p resolution. You won't find a pixel-dense quad HD (aka 2K) panel like the Android rivals that Asus is trying its best to mimic. That new Snapdragon 821 processor sports 4K displays, but this one is far from that spec. I'm okay with Full HD 1080p displays on phones of this size, but the company does appear to be working on an Asus VR headset.
