ASUS Zenbook S 14 UX5406SA 是一款非常危险的笔记本电脑... Apple。

The ASUS Zenbook S 14 is great because it's an alternative for more casual gamers. It means we don't have to buy a gaming laptop to enjoy simpler games, plus it gives us a long battery life. However, the ASUS Zenbook S 14 is pricier than most thin and light laptops at RM6999. If your main goal is to play games, it's better to spend that money on some less fancy gaming laptops (like the ASUS TUF Gaming A15). A solid option for anyone who needs a lightweight laptop with a long battery life and can game.

The Asus Zenbook S14 OLED is one such laptop that has no major disadvantage and covers almost all aspects, making it a perfect machine for almost every type of laptop user. It looks premium, has a thin-and-light form factor, performs well, has excellent compatibility, can handle AAA video games, and while doing it all, it can last all day long. However, at Rs 1,34,990, it is on the expensive side and is for those who want nothing but the best.

For $1,499.99 (Rs 149,990/-), you get a high-end Intel Ultra Core i7 processor, 32 GB of RAM, 1 TB SSD, an OLED screen, and premium build quality. The laptop is slightly expensive, but its specs justify the price. However, there are some downsides to it. The hinge does not go 180 or 360 degrees, so if you want to use this device as a tablet with touch functionality, this might not work for you. Additionally, it is not designed for intensive gaming or heavy workloads. But what it is great for is being your daily companion, with long-lasting battery life, good performance, lightweight design, and a display that is easy on the eyes. If you want a premium Windows laptop with excellent battery life, a stunning OLED display, smooth performance for everyday tasks, and premium build quality. For $1,699.99 (149,990), the ASUS VivoBook S 14 OLED is a solid choice. However, if you need a laptop for heavy workloads, consider laptops with a dedicated graphics card or a MacBook Pro variant, which offers better performance.

The Asus ZenBook S14 is a real standout, offering a great mix of performance and style. Powered by Intel’s Core Ultra 7 258V processor, this ultrabook is all about delivering solid performance while keeping things efficient. Even though it’s not the top-of-the-line chip from Intel’s Core Ultra 200 series, it’s more than capable of handling everyday tasks with ease. Thanks to 32GB of RAM and the integrated Arc GPU, the ZenBook S14 doesn’t break a sweat with email, web browsing, video calls, and light productivity work. While the laptop might not crush multicore-heavy benchmarks, it excels in single-core performance, making it quick and responsive for most uses.

I haven't been this impressed with a Windows ultrabook in a long time. A thin and light, compact laptop that checks most boxes is a rarity, but that might be a thing of the past with the new Asus Zenbook S 14 OLED. The new design is catchy, you get enough performance for work as well as light gaming, and the battery life is actually ultra for an ultrabook. Pricing isn't too bad either, seeing how other similarly specced ultrabooks from Dell, HP, Samsung, or Microsoft cost about the same.

The ASUS Zenbook S 14 with Intel’s Core Ultra Series 2 processor stands out as a sophisticated, powerful ultrabook that offers more than just good looks. It excels in essential areas like display quality, keyboard comfort, and battery life, making it a versatile tool for professionals, creators, and students alike. The OLED display is particularly impressive for those who require high colour accuracy and contrast, along with a fast a snappy response thanks to the high refresh rate and response time. The Core Ultra 7 258V processor ensures performance suitable for daily multitasking and professional applications. While the integrated Arc 140V graphics are sufficient for casual graphics workloads, users looking for serious gaming or GPU-heavy creative tasks might still prefer a machine with a dedicated GPU.

With the price of RM6,999, the ASUS Zenbook S 14 (UX5406S) is by no means a cheap laptop, but it sure has a lot of bells and whistles for the price you’ll be paying. However, unlike the AMD-powered, 16-inch model we reviewed previously, this Intel Lunar Lake-powered model has some of the drawbacks that holds the laptop back from being a complete, do-it-all package. Maybe an Arrow Lake version would’ve fared better? Time will tell.

The Asus Zenbook S14 OLED sets a new standard for laptops, if only for a certain kind of buyer. Are you the kind of person who thrashes their laptop CPU with batch processing jobs? You’ll likely be disappointed by the lack of real gains in raw CPU power. Everyday users who wouldn’t even consider benchmarking their PC are likely to love the Asus Zenbook S14 OLED, though. It combined strong daily performance with surprisingly good gaming and GPU power. It’s one of the best laptops on the market and a strong rival to Snapdragon machines, including the excellent Microsoft Surface Laptop 7, and other machines like the Honor MagicBook Art 14. And not only can you use the full whack of that graphics power on battery, the Asus Zenbook S14 OLED battery also lasts ages for general productivity work. Laptops with these abilities and somewhat better keyboards and touchpads will arrive, but these second-generation Intel PCs are well worth investigating if you care about graphics power as well as CPU speed.

The Asus Zenbook S 14 is a fantastic go-to productivity laptop for most people. It’s very light and compact, so it shouldn’t give your back or shoulder any trouble when traveling with it. You can’t really argue with the 21 hour battery life, either. My nitpicks mostly lie with the keyboard and the performance on battery power. I prefer a springer, more responsive keyboard–the 1.1mm key travel is a real bummer for me. Performance also drops when the laptop is unplugged, so you may want to stick near a wall outlet if you plan on doing any resource heavy tasks. If you’re looking for a long lasting laptop that’s light and slim, the Asus Zenbook S 14 is a great option to consider.

And that’s about it. The Lunar Lake architecture is an amazing step forward for Intel. Finally, they realized that pushing for maximum performance is not the way to go and put an emphasis on efficiency. They proved to the world that x86 can last as long as an Arm-powered laptop – and we don’t have to deal with the app incompatibility issues. The laptop itself is priced at RM6,999 and you can buy it now – and I think this is an amazing laptop paired with an amazing chip from Intel.

The Asus ZenBook S14 is a great option for those who need a stylish laptop with solid display quality and good general performance. However, the lack of fingerprint biometrics and an average camera may also be drawbacks for some users. Overall, you are getting a good laptop, but I would recommend you buy it during festive sales when its price is lower. If you want faster performance and solid battery life, you can consider buying the Snapdragon X Elite-powered Asus VivoBook 15 OLED laptop (Rs 1,24,990) or MacBook Air M3 (Rs 1,14,900).

Intel’s Lunar Lake processors are one of the best chips from Team Blue in a while, and the 2024 ZenBook S 14 proves that with significantly better battery life and better overall thermals even during heavy, sustained loads. The 2024 ZenBook S 14 may have fallen a bit short with its keyboard, but overall it is a good upgrade to previous ZenBook S models.

As the debut of Intel’s new Core Ultra Series 2-series processors, the Asus Zenbook S14 OLED shows off this new family in a great light. It sure makes a great do-it-all PC for everyone but those who need peak number-crunching performance. While the Zenbook S14 OLED isn’t bad in this area, it is beaten by the latest MacBook and Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite models. What you get in return, however, is better gaming performance and (in my experience) none of the compatibility issues inherent to the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite laptops’ unusual tech back-end. For some that'll make this Intel choice the 5-star option.

Cost is also a consideration, when the ASUS Zenbook S 14 is priced at $1399 out of the gate. We think the majority of the cost comes from the machine's gorgeous OLED screen, which is absolutely worth the price of admission. Still, we have to reiterate that this system doesn't come with particularly fast storage, the multi-core performance trails higher core-count chips, and as fast as the Arc 140V graphics are, there's no replacing a discrete GPU for gaming and some taxing creator workloads. Then again, gaming likely isn't a primary objective for a laptop in this class of laptop. If nothing else, we'd probably recommend ponying up the extra $100 for the Core Ultra 7 258V version with 32GB of RAM. The ASUS Zenbook S 14 isn't exorbitantly priced, but you do pay a small premium for for its style, thinness and beauty.

Ultimately, it’s a combination of factors rather than just battery life, CPU or GPU performance that makes a great laptop and that’s why the Asus Zenbook S 14 (UX4506SA) can’t quite claim our top award. For sure this is a lovely machine. Not only is CPU solid and battery life is superb, it’s also a viable occasional gaming machine – more so than a MacBook would be, simply for the greater selection of Windows-compatible titles on the market. Combine that with a slim, lightweight and attractive chassis, a sumptuous OLED display and a price that undercuts its premium opposition and you have a laptop that it’s impossible not to be positive about. I only wish that the price had been even lower.

The best compliment for the ASUS Zenbook S 14 UX5406SA is that it performs the role of a MacBook better than a MacBook itself. It not only boasts exceptional battery life but also incredible energy efficiency. Its design is not only sleek but also features luxurious materials. The premium display combines with excellent sound, while the keyboard complements a high-quality touchpad, and the software pairs seamlessly with a cutting-edge GPU. The ASUS Zenbook S 14 UX5406SA is a very dangerous laptop… for Apple. It’s the first laptop that could potentially bring the MacBook Air audience back to Windows. If the M4 isn’t revolutionary, the combination of the Intel Core Ultra 7 258V and Intel Arc Graphics 140V will leave Apple Silicon with no chances.

As it turned out, the AMD and Intel platforms in the Zenbook line have no fundamental differences, so the laptops have approximately the same levels of performance and comfort. And this is great news, because the buyer will not be forced to compromise when choosing between 16- and 14-inch models. Therefore, ASUS Zenbook S 14 will be a great solution for those users who are looking for the most portable solution that will be easy to move around with and have a good battery life. At the same time, the laptop has a very good look, display, and sound, it is pleasant and convenient to work with, and it has all the necessary ports. However, the price of such a model is still not “affordable”.

At the end of the day, battery life is often the key deciding factor for laptop buyers. While this can vary widely across different models, the Zenbook S 14 has shown that laptops powered by the Core Ultra 7 258V (or the higher-end Core Ultra 9 288V) can be incredibly thin and light, excel at productivity tasks, and still manage to outlast even the longest direct commercial flight from Singapore to New York. That’s impressive, especially when compared to Qualcomm or AMD laptops, which, as of now, haven’t matched this level of efficiency. While Microsoft has been pushing its Copilot+ PCs with AI-driven features like Cocreator and Live Translation, these are currently exclusive to Snapdragon laptops.

2024 has been a crazy year for laptops and laptop processors. Intel, AMD, and Qualcomm have all introduced some major groundbreaking CPU’s and that has made countless laptops worth looking at. I have used the new Snapdragon PCs, I’ve even used the new AMD Ryzen 9 AI Series, and now this Intel 200V series. I think the CPUs and GPUs being offered this year are competing at a very neck to neck pace, so for once, it comes down to choosing a laptop based on its build, feel and look.

With this Asus Zenbook S 14 OLED you're getting a premium thin-and-light laptop with decent usability, a beautiful OLED touchscreen and punchy audio. You're also getting an interesting Intel Lunar Lake hardware platform, not the most powerful in this segment, but a good balance of performance and efficiency for daily use and multitasking. However, the ultra-thin design come with some compromises, and the price premium demanded for this series at launch is significant over the regular Zenbook 14 models.

Overall, Asus' new Zenbook S 14 is a really solid 14-inch thin-and-light Windows 11 laptop. The build quality and aesthetic design is arguably top-notch, the port selection is fairly generous, and it offers extra quality-of-life additions like Windows Hello and Presense Sensing technology. The OLED display is attractive, and it's bordered by thin bezels that make the device feel contemporary and high-end. While the keyboard was a joy to type away on, I found myself longing for a haptic trackpad throughout my entire time with the notebook.New Intel-based PCs including the Zenbook S 14 take a big step-up in terms of power efficiency, and I never found myself unhappy with battery life during regular use.

As a review of a new Intel processor, I have to admit I’m slightly let down. The battery life is there, and that’s no small feat. But the CPU performance represents more of a lateral move, which is never what you want to see in a new generation. On the other hand, battery life is likely the metric that you’ll care more about in this type of laptop. A slightly faster CPU won’t make your web browsing, YouTube watching, and Slack chats go any faster. You may, however, notice a few extra hours of battery life. From the Windows side of things, it’s the official battery life champion, and considering how much pressure the Snapdragon X Elite devices put on Intel, I’m thoroughly impressed.

The Asus Zenbook S 14 gives us our first look at an Intel Lunar Lake laptop, the follow-up to the first AI processors the chipmaker introduced last year under the codename Meteor Lake. Intel is sticking with the Core Ultra branding; this new generation of processors is simply labeled Core Ultra Series 2. Last year's Core Ultra chips introduced a radical new chiplet architecture along with a neural processing unit to handle AI tasks. With these new Core Ultra 200V chips, Intel is promising greater efficiency for better battery life along with an uptick in CPU performance and a big boost to graphics performance from the integrated Arc GPU.

From its stunning design to its vivid OLED display panel, there’s plenty to appreciate about the Asus Zenbook S 14. The laptop’s battery life may not be breaking records, but nearly 14 hours is more than enough to last you a full workday, even with more grueling task loads. The laptop’s performance is also quick and responsive on both the CPU and NPU levels. While the gaming experience wasn’t the most groundbreaking of any integrated GPU, it easily outperformed the previous generation, so we can’t say Intel didn’t meet expectations with this new hardware. Really, as long as you don’t need a high-quality webcam and you aren’t a big keyboard snob, the Zenbook S 14 is a perfect laptop. I would prefer just about any other keyboard over the backlit chiclet keyboard on the new Zenbooks, but that’s my only major complaint. This is an impressive launch laptop for Intel Lunar Lake and a win for Asus.

If you are constantly on the go and need a premium, thin, and yet powerful laptop, the ASUS Zenbook S 14 UX5406 can give you all that alongside an efficient CPU plus very long battery life. During work, the device always feels responsive because of the Lunar Lake processor which P and LP E cores boost to around 2.70 GHz / 3.35 GHz in short loads. The Intel Arc Graphics 140V is also powerful enough to provide acceptable FPS on Low and Medium details (of course, on 1080p resolution). The XeSS supersampling could increase the performance in more demanding titles. The ultra-thin and light chassis is also built like a tank. The input devices are comfortable for home or office work.

This Zenbook S 14 generation feels like a more premium laptop in its class of ultraportables, a step up in overall feel and sturdiness over the existing standard Zenbook 14s. But ergonomics were partially sacrificed in implementing this thinner and smaller chassis, with a shallower keyboard, edges that feel more aggressive on the wrists, and especially a screen that only leans back to about 130 degrees. For me, this particular detail matters a whole lot, as I often use this sort of computer on my lap or have it propped against my legs while lying back on the couch. Considering how other popular laptops such as the Dell XPS or the Apple Macbooks implement similar screen angles, I’d reckon many of you won’t care as much about this detail.
