Reviews for the Asus Zenfone 6

On the whole we were very impressed with the Asus ZenFone 6. It is very affordable for the size and has potential to meet a new niche in the market. Solid everyday performance, despite lagging behind in the benchmarks, means the ZenFone can keep up with everything you throw at it. On top of this is the sleek design which fits the display and home buttons into a relatively small space.

The ZenFone 6 is a new smartphone from ASUS, with a six-inch HD (1280 x 720) touchscreen and Android 4.4 operating system. ASUS ZenFone 5 is an excellent smartphone for its price range, and the ZenFone 6 is actually a version of the ZenFone 5 for users who perfer a bigger screen. As a bonus, it brings a better camera.

The ZenFone 6 offers a good screen and camera. It's multimedia performance as well as the UI are great. What's more, the phone's build quality is solid. So if you don't mind lugging around, go for the Zenfone 6. Those who know the fact that bigger is not better in terms of mobiles, should rather consider the Zenfone 5.

Overall, we're pleasantly surprised by the Asus ZenFone range. There's a smartphone to suit everyone here, whatever your budget and whatever screen size you prefer. We're excited to see what Asus has up its sleeve next, and we expect rivals will be curious and perhaps slightly worried, too.

The ZenFone 6 is not going to appeal to everyone. It really is huge, so it's not the most portable of smartphones, but if you're ok with that you're going to benefit from a brilliant device for watching TV and movies on the commute. If it's playing games you're most keen on, you might need to look elsewhere as the ZenFone 6 isn't he most powerful of options, but for £250 you'll get a good-looking phablet with satisfactory specs, an impressive camera and a really nice user interface.

The question of whether you should buy the Asus Zenfone 6 needs to be countered with another: are you sure you really need or want the Zenfone 6? We’re not trying to dissuade you from upgrading your phone, but are you sure you want a 6-inch one? Even the leap from a 5.5-inch phone is significant. And while we got used to the Zenfone 6’s size, we found the phone often ending up in a bag rather than a pocket because of its sheer size.

We generally like our phablets to come packing a Full HD screen for maximum movie enjoyment, or some kind of creative features to justify the bloody enormous display. The Asus Zenfone 6 doesn’t come with a stylus or any arty features to speak of, but it can boast one of the cheapest price tags of any phablets out there.

The Zenfone 6 is basically a 6 inch version of the Zenfone 5. But while the Zenfone 4 and Zenfone 5 both justify their price, the Zenfone 6 doesn't. Asus has gone overboard with the size and not given the device the power to match it.

Asus has managed to create a phablet that boasts of good hardware components, good build quality, and decent camera performance. Most importantly, it costs less than many of good phablets which cost the same or even significantly more, including the Sony Xperia T2 Ultra Dual, HTC Desire 816 and Samsung Galaxy Grand 2. Both the Xperia T2 Ultra Dual and Desire 816 are priced above Rs. 20,000 while the Grand 2 costs slightly less than Rs. 20,000 now.

这是比较大的智能手机尺寸,也十分常见。
大尺寸可以让屏幕有更高的分辨率。因而例如字体等的细节将会更丰富。不过另一方面,小屏幕的功耗会较低,而设备也会更轻盈小巧,售价更低。
