Reviews for the Dell Inspiron 14-7437
Aluminum office. Dell's Inspiron 14-7437 is an aluminum ultrabook with a touchscreen as well as Windows 8 and reminds us of a MacBook. How does it perform in our review?

The Inspiron 14 7437 is not a bad laptop, but it's not a great one either. It's an excellent performer with great battery life but is brought down by a disappointing screen and lack of features, both aesthetically and fucntionally. That said, this is not a bad laptop and if you like the design, need great battery life and can stomach the screen, this just might be the one for you and here's why.

The Dell Inspiron 14 (7437) offers premium looks at a midrange price, and its performance—particularly its battery life—shows that it's a solid system. Unfortunately, the screen bounce is a definite drawback for a touch-screen laptop, particularly with a list price higher than $1,000. The HP Spectre 13T-3000 offers better connectivity, a lighter aluminum chassis, and a list price that's $50 lower. The Acer Aspire V7-482PG-6629 remains our Editors' Choice for midrange ultrabooks, thanks to its better balance of features, functionality, and price, not to mention its discrete graphics chipset, which aids in gaming performance.

The Dell Inspiron 14 7000 series is a decent machine, with decent portability, for a decent price. It doesn’t excel in any particular area, but also doesn’t fall short when compared to the competition in this segment. This laptop doesn’t stand out with impressive performance due to the lack of a discrete graphics card and a slow hybrid drive … but 8 GB of RAM and a solid Intel Core i7 processor still provide enough muscle for everyday computing.

Dell unveiled the Inspiron 14 7000 series laptop (and the 15 and 17 7000 series) in September of last year, billing it as its thinnest and strongest Inspiron to date. Overall, the Dell Inspiron 14 7000 series is a stylish value for everyday life. I'm disappointed that Dell dropped the 1080p screen from the entry model and that your only option to get it back is to spend at least $200 more. If possible, spend the extra money.

We tested the Core i5 version of the Inspiron 14 7000 Series, which is surprisingly not as expensive as many of the laptops sold as ultrabooks today. It's very thin, relatively light, and decently powerful. Dell obviously made some choices with the hardware configuration to keep costs down, and unless you're absolutely militant about lightning-fast startup and shutdown times, you'll appreciate the cost savings more than you'll miss the SSD.

I’m a sucker for thin, pretty laptops that deliver great battery life, and the Dell Inspiron 14 7000 Series certainly fits that bill (although it’s not particularly light, weighing in at 4.4 pounds). Since my computer life revolves around word processing, browsing the web, and watching the occasional online video, this model’s mediocre benchmark performance isn’t a showstopper.

There is much to be loved about the Dell Inspiron 14 7000 series, fantastic design, its light and thin and is perfect for showing off. The worst – the screen sucks. For Rs 70,000, go for it only if you're looking for a great looking laptop with slim body. However, if screen tops your priority list, stay away from this laptop.

Like the MacBook Pro from which it likely draws inspiration, the Dell Inspiron 14 7000 puts a premium on design. Despite attractions such as a slim profile and a 1080p touch screen, the Dell Inspiron 14 7000 laptop is too rough around the edges—literally—to merit a recommendation.

Superthin, aluminum-clad laptops tend to be up around the $1,000 mark right now. The Dell Inspirion 14 7000 comes in a bit under that while giving you a 1080p touch screen, backlit keyboard, and good performance and battery life. All things considered, it's well priced for what you're getting, I enjoyed using it, and it's small enough for travel, even with its larger screen size.

With its nice full-HD screen and slim, solid aluminum shell, Dell’s Inspiron 14 7000 Series looks much nicer than many laptops that cost more than its $849 starting price. It’s certainly a more premium-looking device than the similarly sized Lenovo U430 Touch.

In real-world use, we found the performance to be quite good. The benchmark didn't do this computer justice, but that's sometimes the flaw of those numbers. For the average user (or even the more advanced user), looking for a portable computer with good performance, this one won't disappoint. Watching streaming HD video worked smoothly as well as doing moderately heavy multitasking. You won't be able to do any 3D gaming on this laptop, however, but that is the price you pay for wanting portability.

With the $849 Inspiron 14 7000, Dell has created an attractive and long-lasting notebook for a reasonable price. This laptop certainly delivers on the aesthetics front, thanks to its slim aluminum chassis. We also appreciate the responsive and colorful touch screen and more than 7 hours of battery life.

At its base price of $850 the Dell Inspiron 14 7000 is an attractive offer. The device features a well built and attractive aluminum design, decent battery life and performance that more than meet the needs of the average consumer. However, the device is far from perfect. Sound quality is well below average, and the keyboard’s noticeable flex can be an annoyance. The notebook does house an attractive 14-inch display, but the panel’s quality is marred by its limited brightness and shallow viewing angles.
