Reviews for the HTC U11 Plus
Trending. The HTC U11 Plus emerges about a year after the U11 and offers very similar specs. It comes with more storage space, and the new Super LCD display now has a trendy 2:1 aspect ratio. Moreover, the battery also gets a significant bump. You can learn here how well the new smartphone does in our review.

If last year’s U11 lacked presence, this year’s U11 Plus makes things worse. It’s a good phone, but it’s pricing places it in direct competition with, at the very least, the stunning Samsung Galaxy S9.

And that’s the story with the HTC U11+ as a whole: it’s good but not amazing, and there are phones at least as good that cost less. The superior Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus is now available for around £580, while the Huawei Mate 10 Pro is slimmer, looks nicer, has a superior screen and beats it for battery life. NATHAN SPENDELOW.

If you are looking for a flagship smartphone, you now have one more option to choose from. The HTC U11+ has a big 18:9 display, powerful HTC BoomSound speakers, and impressive cameras. HTC’s Edge sense feature isn’t gimmicky and the Snapdragon 835 SoC coupled with 6GB of RAM can run pretty much everything out there. The company also includes its USonic active noise cancellation headphones in the box.

Everything was set up for me to love the U11 Plus that little bit more than I did the U11. But what HTC has demonstrated with this phone is that sometimes — perhaps more often than not in the mobile industry — giving people more isn’t necessarily going to make them happier. It’s the same issue that Samsung and LG long suffered from, this desire to maximize specs and numbers at any cost. The U11 Plus might find its audience in dedicated spec or camera geeks, but for me it’s too unrefined, too bloated (both physically and in its software) and, as a result, too expensive to recommend.

The HTC U11 Plus began life as the Pixel 2 XL. To its credit, HTC still put it out after Google tapped LG and the U11 Plus has become the best phone HTC has ever made. The only problem is, it won't be coming to North America.

In a way, the specs and capabilities of the HTC U11+ more closely match what the original U11 should have been. The elongated display falls in line with the trends of 2017, the capacious battery sticks it to phablet-sized rivals like the S8+, Note 8 and Mate 10 Pro, and the cameras and media abilities of the phone are generally top-notch.

Summing it all up, the HTC U11+ is a fast and powerful phone with great camera and sound quality, but one that comes at a high price.

The U11+ will be too big and heavy for some but it's a decent effort from HTC. It's cheaper than rivals and has some top-notch specs including 128GB storage as standard. It also has decent cameras, IP68 waterproofing and an 18:9 screen. It's just a shame there's no headphone jack, Edge Sense remains something of a gimmick, and we don't get the alluring translucent model in the UK.

The HTC U11+ is a complete package, but it launches at a time that sees it more expensive than comparable hardware rivals, while new models will arrive to distract hardcore fans. That aside, a great build, excellent audio and a (mostly) solid camera experience deliver a rewarding experience from HTC.

The U11+ is a fantastic upgrade, bringing that formula up to date with an 18:9 screen, while keeping the same lightning-fast performance and superb superb camera that only narrowly falls short of Google’s algorithmic Pixel 2.

At £699 (inc. VAT) the HTC U11+ is no 'affordable' smartphone, but nor is it in the very top iPhone X/Galaxy Note 8 price bracket. Compared to the U11 (£599 for 128GB, £519 for 64GB), you get a range of updated features including an 18:9 screen, a much bigger battery and improved water resistance. The downgrading of the front camera from 16 to 8 megapixels shouldn't worry anyone.

How odd that a phone that reportedly began its life as the Pixel 2 XL, and one that then needed to be quickly re-engineered into this U11 upgrade when Google had its head turned by LG, could turn out so well. It is powerful, stylish and - with its neat Edge Sense tech - innovative, too. If only it had been released 6 months ago...

Offering brilliant screen quality, decent performance and an above-average camera, the U11+ is an excellent handset – and one of the best available right now. It’s also a good £100 cheaper than its closest rival, the Google Pixel 2 XL. But with 2018’s next wave of flagships set to arrive in a matter of months, it feels a little late to market.

HTC U11+ isn't shaping as the best flagship of the season, that's for sure. While our tests paint a powerful and skillful flagship, the public may not be as interested in numbers. The poor looking LCD and the average battery life are a tough bite to swallow.

The U11+ is the phone HTC should have released in place of the U11. Unveiling it now just seems like the company admitting it got the design wrong before.

If it's not too big and heavy for your taste, the HTC U11+ seems like a pretty great smartphone. It's cheaper than rivals and has some top-notch specs including 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage as standard. We like the one-handed feature, too, it's just a shame we're not getting the unusual translucent model here.

The HTC U11 was a phone that went out on a limb, doing its own Liquid Glass thing while most other manufacturers chased the dream of an edge-to-edge display. Nothing the HTC U11+ does really changes this state of play, but its bumper screen and battery do smooth out those rough edges a little further. And of course, you’re still getting some wicked fast internals and one of the best smartphone cameras money can buy here.

The HTC U11 Plus is an impressive device with plenty of power and features to boot – yet it feels like the phone HTC should have launched back in April.

The HTC U11+ looks like a great addition to the range of 18:9 phones we've already got on the market. It might not sway you from the Samsung Galaxy S8+ which we think has a slicker design with those curved edges. However, with the Pixel 2 XL suffering with displaygate there might be plenty looking at the alternatives.

这是比较大的智能手机尺寸,也十分常见。
大尺寸可以让屏幕有更高的分辨率。因而例如字体等的细节将会更丰富。不过另一方面,小屏幕的功耗会较低,而设备也会更轻盈小巧,售价更低。
