Still, don't let my nitpicking stop you from getting the Nova 7 SE. If you're not too addicted to Google Maps or YouTube apps and you easily use access the same via the browser, it's seriously one of the best current-generation mid-range phones you could grab, features- and functionality-wise. Ease of use is the main detracting factor that you would have to weigh in and it would vary from person to person and the kinds of apps being used.

We also installed some productivity apps and yes it’s almost hassle-free. However we tried to install Call of Duty Mobile, but we downloaded the wrong apk file and upon running the app and logging through my Facebook account, it creates a new profile. However, there’s a way to install this game. If you have another device that has COD Mobile already installed, just download the clone phone app and send the game to your device. Though there’s an easy way just search Call of Duty Garena apk on your browser and click the apkpure website, install, and you can now log in using your old COD profile.

Huawei made it a little less hassle now thanks to Petal Search, especially those not that techie, it will easily sideload apps as easy as a simple click. We also manage to play Call of Duty Mobile (Garena Ver.)in the new midrange contender Huawei Nova 7 SE. In this gaming and camera review video, we installed almost everything we need and we took sample photos of each lens. We also test the gaming capability with (PUBG Mobile, Call of Duty Mobile, Honkai Impact 3, Mobile Legends, Asphalt 9, NBA 2K20) and showed the charging test, antutu benchmark score, and battery drain test results of Huawei Nova 7 SE 5G.

The Huawei nova 7 SE starts off with a clear disadvantage compared to many other Android phones in the market. And that is the lack of GMS. But now, with Petal Search, most of the problems have been aleivated, and you can quite comfortably live with it. Unless, of course, you rely heavily on, say, Google Drive.

The Huawei Nova 7 SE is a well-rounded device that performs well in all aspects. It has an amazing IPS display, a solid mid-range chipset, capable cameras, respectable battery life, and of course, 5G connectivity. All of its upsides are magnified by its affordable price of just PHP 19,990.

For the price of RM1,499, it’s obvious that the price hike is because of that 5G tax. And since it’s not ready in Malaysia yet, don’t use “5G” as a factor while choosing your smartphone right now.

The nova 7 SE melds a decent camera array, swift performance, good battery life and fetching good looks along with 5G support, making it the cheapest 5G capable phone in Malaysia at this point in time. The lack of Google services is irksome but Huawei’s made inroads to making the process of getting the apps you want on the phone easier and at its price point, it’s well worth a look if you’re on the hunt for a midrange 5G capable phone.

Considering that it’s also the cheapest 5G smartphone in the market at the moment, priced at RM1,499, it’s definitely a worthy contender. Adding the fact that HUAWEI is throwing in a couple of freebies worth RM1,256 with purchase of the device, it’s pretty good value for your money. For that, I award the HUAWEI nova 7 SE with our Silver Pokdeward.

Huawei’s really piling on the value with their new mid-range phone, though they’re stretching the definition of mid-range for the nova 7 SE once you consider that it’s going to retail for Php 19,999. Is the phone worth that price? You’ll have to wait for our full review.
