On top of this, we’d got used to using Google Pay and ID tools to the point where we no longer needed to carry a wallet. That’s mostly gone now. While our Service NSW app allowed us to check-in to places via QR codes, once it started asking for updates we couldn’t access the network – nor easily update it. Living without YouTube also became an issue.

Moving towards the rest of the box, after the phone, we get this big envelope. Contained inside it, there is a SIM eject tool, quick start guide and a TPU protective cover. After this, there are a standard set of accessories, including Huawei fast charger, basic earphones with microphone and also, USB type-C to type-A cable. If you are wondering that whether the phone comes with a screen protector? It is pre-applied on the phone which is a big plus since aligning protectors on hole-punch displays is very difficult by hand.

In the saturated and competitive mid-range market, the Nova 7i is a strong contender thanks to its Kirin 810 processor that outperforms most Qualcomm and MediaTek processors that play in its price point. The Nova 7i ticks all the boxes for a compelling mid-range phone, only missing out with the inferior loudspeaker, proprietary NM Card storage expansion, and lackluster video features.

Huawei has brought its mid-range Nova to the next level with the Nova 7i. It has a beautiful display, excellent performance, good cameras, and a large battery with impressive charging tech. The best part is that it’s priced at just PHP 13,990, making it one of the best-performing Android smartphones under PHP 15K for 2020.

Whenever Huawei launches a new Nova device, it’s always exciting as these devices are known to pack really good specs at a very competitive price tag, just like the Nova 5T from last year, and I’m sure you guys remember the good ol’ Nova 3i from 2018. For 2020, we have the Nova 7i. Is this the mid-range smartphone to beat this year? Find out in this full review.

The Nova 7i is getting super-fast charging thanks to its USB Type-C port and Huawei’s own SuperCharge tech. The charger included in the package supports 40W fast charging, which is blazingly-fast for a mid-range phone. We went from 20% to 70% in 20 minutes, beating many fast-charging metrics from similarly-priced phones.

With that out of the way, this phone proves to be a convincing addition to Huawei’s mainstream offering. Feels good on the hand with decent battery life, as an SMS and call phone this is definitely good with a great camera to back it up. Whichever route you go for the software side, its still a decent phone and Google is at least doing something to improve the situation for a more uniform ecosystem for their clients. As it is, I’m comfortable with the nova 7i and proves to be a good, midrange option and the camera is definitely something to appreciate. Stay tuned for our full review.

Overall, HUAWEI has upped their game in the mid-range segment with the nova 7i as you can see from the benchmark scores and also the camera results. For the price of RM1,099, I’d say that it’s actually a pretty good deal.

As you’d likely surmise, the Nova 7i will run EMUI 10 and ship without Google Mobile Services so you’ll have to rely on their Huawei AppGallery or get fairly creative in regards to sourcing your favourite apps.

只有较少的手机有很大的屏幕。
大尺寸可以让屏幕有更高的分辨率。因而例如字体等的细节将会更丰富。不过另一方面,小屏幕的功耗会较低,而设备也会更轻盈小巧,售价更低。
