While I did enjoy using the device, especially for the design and display, I feel that HUAWEI could’ve done better. Though the battery efficiency is actually good, I would’ve loved for it to come with a larger battery capacity to make it more of an attractive offering. If you don’t mind paying RM1,899 and prefer to get something different, it’s something to consider.

At R10 999 (RRP), the Huawei Nova 8 is right up there with the aforementioned Reno5 5G and Redmi Note 10 Pro in terms of serving up great value for money. Had it not been for the compromises that users would have to make in terms of the software, it would have been a flip of the coin to decide which is best as the hardware margins are so fine. The problem is that people don’t want to make compromises, especially when it comes to the saturated mid-range and therefore the Nova 8 comes with a disclaimer. Is it worth gambling on? Yes, but given the wealth of options currently available, there is no need to.

The Huawei nova 8 is a decent mid-range phone with amazing looks, good cameras, and good performance for a mid-range device. Also, It carries a competitive price tag of PHP 19,999. However, that advantage is hard to notice when it lacks 5G. Its competitors under the price range have that feature. Now it’s harder to ignore the inconvenience of not having GMS. Many users would still want this phone, but I don’t think they’d be willing to pay that much given the cons.

Our Huawei nova 8 review makes it clear that the brand’s latest device is for people who want a premium flagship experience in the Philippines but don’t want to pay top peso for it. The phone’s design, curved screen, and pretty display give you that experience, though you’re paying quite a bit more compared to the offerings of its competitors like Xiaomi.

The Huawei nova 8 brings an attractive design, fast 66W charging, a slick looking 90Hz curved display and fair performance at a premium price tag. If you can live with the lack of Google services and want a premium looking Huawei phone with a decent front-facing selfie camera, the nova 8 is worth a look.

After in-depth testing of the new model of the Huawei Nova 8 5G device, I was left with a good impression. For example, the smartphone showed itself from a good technical point of view. That is, it uses a modern and efficient Kirin 985 5G processor and a Mali-G77 graphics accelerator. Both of them show good performance not only in the user interface, but also in games. In addition, the Nova 8 has received a good and high-quality build using premium materials in its design. Let me remind you that the body of the smartphone was made of protective glass with a beautiful iridescent pattern. I can also highlight a bright and vibrant screen with OLED technology and 90 Hz refresh rate. The device also received good sensors for the main and front cameras. And most importantly, the battery life was very good, and there was a quick charge with a power of 65 watts. The disadvantages of the Huawei Nova 8 5G smartphone are typical, as with most devices from the Huawei brand.

The Huawei nova 8 5G looks to be a solid mid-range offering for the Philippines from the company, though we’ll have to see if the phone’s small-ish battery, cameras, and OS deliver.
