The P13,999 nova 8i is an attractive midrange phone with a good display and average overall performance. While it doesn’t have a defining quality that makes it stand out, this phone gets the job done where it counts.

Back to the question of whether the HUAWEI nova 8i is capable of carrying the legacy set by the devices that came before it. I would say, yes. The HUAWEI nova 8i is a pretty great device with the highlights being its attractive design, its great screen, its decent set of cameras and its massive battery life. All great features for any young person to use for their day-to-day needs. The device retails for RM1,299 and is available on the HUAWEI Online Store as well as the official HUAWEI stores on Shopee and Lazada.

As you would expect with mid-range phones, there are often trade-offs so that companies can keep the device at a price point they want. The Huawei nova 8i offers features typically found in a mid-range device, with tech specs and features that are a level above an entry-level phone. The display, memory configuration, and camera offerings are all pretty good. Its chipset isn't the best, but it's not too bad of a phone overall. If there's a problem, it would probably be the price. For RM1299, you could get the POCO X3 GT, which comes with more powerful hardware and a better-looking design. Another alternative is the OnePlus Nord N10 5G, which has an OS that's almost vanilla Android OS and an RM1199 price tag. So, what are your thoughts on the Huawei nova 8i after reading our review? The Huawei nova 8i looks compelling enough for the Philippine market if it didn’t have a lot of competition, unfortunately, the mid-range segment is super competitive right now. At its price point, it’ll be doing battle with really heavy hitters, and we’ll have to see if the phone’s camera performance, battery endurance and overall performance will elicit a recommendation from our end.

There are two main factors why you should buy Huawei Nova 8i, first for its premium bezel design and second for its fast charging support. If you don’t like the camera very much, but streaming online content is a daily necessity, it will provide enough screentime. Overall, the design look looks lovely and you’re also getting pretty decent camera quality. Not to forget, the quick charging support is also fabulous. However, all of these aspects may or may not justify the cost. However, if you’re looking for a performance beast that enhances gameplay and delivers a smooth experience, then the Huawei Nova 8i lags behind. Another big reason would be that the phone didn’t have a higher refresh rate or an AMOLED panel. Anyway, if you’re looking for performance in the same price range the Samsung Galaxy F52 is the better alternative option for you.

The Huawei nova 8i is a fair choice for users who need a budget phone that hosts a large display – and this phone has one of the largest in its price range – and long battery life. It does require a bit of extra legwork to get the apps you want as many of them need to be sideloaded which adds a certain level of complexity to using it. Where its primary appeal lies though is that it’s intended to be part of a growing ecosystem of seamlessly interconnected Huawei gear with fast, efficient pairing to their wireless earbuds, monitors and laptops. If you’re already invested in other Huawei gear, this is well worth a look.
