The Infinix Note 40 Pro Plus Racing Edition reinforces the Hong Kong-based phone maker's credentials as a manufacturer of cheap phones that don't look cheap. Thankfully, once you start using the Note 40 Pro Plus, it doesn't feel cheap either. Big, bright, curved AMOLED screen, good budget camera and nice integration with the XWatch 3 WE smartwatch do a lot to make up for the lack of processing grunt or outright performance. It's not without its compromises, but the Note 40 Pro Plus is slickly designed and good enough for all and any casual use.

The Infinix NOTE 40 Pro+ 5G Racing Edition is a well-rounded contender packed with features more commonly seen in higher-tiered devices. Offering a snappy performance, great battery life, an impressive camera, an immersive display and full-bodied audio, not to mention a sleek, racing-inspired design, it’s definitely a great bargain for P13,999.

The Infinix Note 40 Pro Plus excels at looking expensive while not being expensive. It has a truly curved glass front, a good-looking OLED screen, convincing fake metal sides and, in my particular handset, a nicely judged combo of gold and green. It’s faking it to make it, sure, but there’s enough charm to the look even after you see through it. The turn-offs are all about the substance. The Infinix Note 40 Pro Plus’ processor is only sufficient, and lacks Vulkan support. The “Super Zoom” is all software, with no zoom camera on board. And the secondary cameras are rubbish too.

Although the Infinix Note 40 Pro+ has a few notable features like a big display, fast charging and wireless charging, they are not nearly enough to make the device stand out as a whole. The not particularly bright screen, the unimpressive main camera, capped at 1440p video recording, the subpar performance and the substandard speakers keep us from giving the phone a better score.

The Infinix Note 40 Pro Plus is a strong contender in the ever-crowded mid-range (<$400) smartphone landscape. It boasts a compelling combination of advanced features, impressive performance, and stylish design. And with its high-resolution camera system, vibrant AMOLED display, and innovative AI capabilities, the phone delivers a user experience that rivals pricier flagship phones. Potential buyers should be aware of certain considerations, perhaps most notably the limited availability in certain regions. Additionally, it’s possible the device receives 1-2 major software updates in the future, possibly shutting the door on long-term usability. The Infinix Note 40 Pro Plus remains a compelling choice for users seeking a feature-rich smartphone at an affordable price point. It’s the right kind of balance that we like to see in our devices.

Priced at around $300, the Infinix Note 40 Pro+ 5G faces competition from other devices such as the Redmi Note 13 series devices, as well as Samsung’s A-series phones to name a few. Compared to these, the Note 40 Pro+’s fast-charging capabilities and great-looking display play to its strengths, and having the Dimensity 7020 onboard doesn’t hurt either. It’s not a perfect device of course, and camera quality will be a subjective matter for some users, as well as the heavily-modified version of Android 14 and pre-installed third-party apps. At the end of the day though if performance and battery matter to you the most, then the Infinix Note 40 Pro+ is one great choice.

Despite arguments on how the NOTE 40 Pro+ 5G felt like a downgrade over last year’s NOTE 30 VIP, it has its advantages: beyond the faster wired charging speeds and the unique MagCharge system, Infinix gave the NOTE 40 Pro+ 5G a better overall build that includes a significantly better display, along with the brand being more transparent with software updates.

As we cap off this review, I must say that this phone is a legitimate steal for its price range. Users are treated to an all-around performing midrange device under Php14k. Infinix deserves a hat tip in developing a phone that focuses on the essentials at a modest price. The optimizations for over-all user-experience only add to the fact that users get so much value from the device. Sure, most smartphone users might prefer better camera features as primary a purchasing consideration. But from a wider perspective, this phone tried to address this and everything else at an optimal level. With the Infinix NOTE 40 Pro+, users can take good photos, consume videos, and play games like any other. But what it has that most phones don’t is feature-supported longevity. It’s built to last, and works to perform consistently.

The Infinix Note 40 Pro Plus has a bunch of cool features, especially considering its affordable price tag. For around $300, you get a good processor, 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, wireless charging support, and generative AI features. That's a lot of phone for the money compared to what most other companies offer. The phone has got even more going for it, including a big, beautiful AMOLED screen for watching videos and games, a decent main camera for capturing memories, and a battery that can even last you two whole days on a single charge. However, the only catch is that Infinix isn't selling the device in Western markets. I won't pass judgment on Infinix's marketing team for this decision, but for those in the rest of the world where this phone is available, this phone is definitely a steal.

The Infinix Note 40 Pro could be considered an average great phone if want good hardware and display configuration. On the other hand, if fast charging is something that many users value most, then the Infinix Note 40 Pro Plus would be a fabulous choice. Although, the battery capacity is slightly low. But you can refuel the phone from scratch to 100 in less than 25 minutes. Apart from this, you won’t find much difference between both of the phones. Yet, if you are searching for better alternative options in the same price range, the Nothing Phone 2A could be a perfect choice. With this phone, you will receive a bloatware-free interface, good enough photos, and lots of interesting customization attributes. On top of that, the battery life is also sufficient for normal tasks, while you can enjoy above-average level gaming on this phone. But still, you should go through the pros and cons of each phone to decide on a phone according to your needs.

The NOTE 40 Pro+ trades off some features found on last year’s NOTE 30 VIP for a more premium overall build that includes a better display and OIS on the main camera. Its main selling point is its unique MagCharge system, where Infinix made a feature commonly associated with flagship phones accessible even in the budget mid-range segment. Our concern for now is how much Infinix plans to price the NOTE 40 Pro+ in the Philippines. while its global SRP translates to around Php 18k when converted, we expect the NOTE 40 Pro+ to have a lower price tag in the Philippines. The NOTE 30 VIP was priced at Php 14k last year, and we’re optimistic that Infinix will price the NOTE 40 Pro+ at around that price range.

This is the kind of thing that we’ve been missing from bigger smartphone makers like Samsung and Google; new phones that actually feel new. The next Galaxy S phone or Pixel tends to feel exactly like the last, and the same thing goes for iPhones. However, we’ve missed the thrill and excitement of seeing new phones that breathe new life into the franchise year over year. This is what is happening with the affordable smartphone market. There’s very little that ties the Infinix Note 40 Pro+ to last year’s phone visually, and that makes me happy as a techie. Infinix adopted a completely new design philosophy with its phone, and we haven’t seen that happen with Samsung in years. Not only is this phone different, but it improves over last year’s handset in the performance and display brightness departments.

So, overall, the Infinix Note 40 is a very good phone under Rs. 30,000. The display and design are good, performance is acceptable, and both wired and wireless chargers are included in the box, which is unique at this price. The software is clean, providing a good user experience, so I have no complaints. The camera performance is just okay, not the best but not bad either. Comparable to Samsung’s Galaxy A15 5G and Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 13, the Infinix Note 40 is a good balanced package under Rs. 30,000. That being said, if you want a better design, slightly better cameras, improved haptics, faster charging, and 12GB RAM, you can get the Note 40 Pro for about Rs. 7,000 more. However, if you are spending around Rs. 35,000, in my opinion, the OnePlus Nord CE3 available for Rs. 37,000 in the market is a better product!

While its battery life is impressive, the camera lacks an ultrawide lens. Overall, it’s a great choice for those seeking unique features at a reasonable price. In the realm of mid-range smartphones, the Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G emerges as a compelling contender, offering a blend of unique features at an accessible price point of ₹21,999. With its sleek design, boasting a vegan leather back and an AMOLED display, the Note 40 Pro 5G sets itself apart visually. But does its performance match its aesthetics? The Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G is available in India at a very competitive pricing, i.e. Rs 21,999. For HDFC and SBI credit and debit card users, there is a Rs 2,000 discount thereby bringing the effective price of the smartphone down to Rs 19,999. There is no shortage of competitors for the handset within the segment; however, the Realme 12+ (review) and iQOO Z9 have to be among the closest. The iQOO Z9 (review) scores in terms of raw performance. The Realme 12+, in contrast, shines in terms of camera capabilities, where it packs a dedicated ultra-wide lens that offers a wide field of view (FoV) for landscape images. That said, the Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G delivers a compelling package with its blend of features and reasonable performance at an attractive price point.

Additionally, its lightweight design and premium leather finish back panel add to its appeal. Now, for the verdict you are waiting for. Is this phone worth the buy? Our honest answer is yes. Sure, it's not the best in its class. For a device in this price range, we feel there are options that are just as good if not better. For instance, the realme 12+ 5G would cost you RM1499, but it has better specs and performance. Alternatively, you can also get the POCO X6 for RM1299. It is slightly pricier than the Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G, but you will get 12GB RAM + 256GB storage straightaway. That's a bargain. Overall, if you are looking for a versatile budget phone and don't mind the sub-par camera, we would recommend the Note 40 Pro 5G. But, if you have slightly more money to spend, go for POCO X6.

Infinix Note 40 5G comes with a good display, offers decent performance, and acts as an all-rounder. As we mentioned above, the CMF Phone 1 offers a compelling package in this price range too, but the Infinix phone offers a better camera performance. While the OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite offers a better camera performance and faster charging, it doesn’t match up to the Infinix handset in general performance. If you have your priorities set in mind, you can easily take your pick out of the three. As one of the biggest feathers in its cap, the Inifinix Note 40 5G supports wireless charging, which comes in handy and helps the phone stand out in its price segment. We earlier reviewed the Pro variant of the phone and it won’t be wrong to say that this phone offers a similar experience at a more affordable price point.

There aren’t many phones that offer wireless charging, NFC support, and impressive customization attributes in the mid-range segment. But when we are talking about the Infinix Note 40, it brings all of those factors without much compromise. Yet, we won’t deny that the user interface is loaded with bloatware, ads, and annoying notifications. Moreover, the video recording quality won’t give good results. On the other hand, the phone is limited to 4G connectivity, which could be a problem for people who want to enjoy a 5G connection on their phone. Although, the phone didn’t lack when it comes to day-to-day usage. But sadly, it’s not designed for proper gaming. Instead of that, you should consider getting the Vivo iQOO Z9. With this, you will receive a stable user interface and cool customization features. Lastly, we recommend you pick a phone that meets your requirements and budget.

The phone even has dust and splash protection. It’s a fantastic smartphone that is well-balanced for the budget category. For its specs and features, the pricing is all right. However, Infinix could have gone for a slightly faster chipset. At its current pricing, this phone is in direct competition with Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 smartphone, which has a better display, chipset, and faster charging at a slightly higher price tag.

The Infinix Note 40X carries a starting price of Rs 14,999 for the 8GB+256GB variant and Rs 15,999 for the 12GB+256GB variant. The phone sits at an extremely competitive price point and faces stiff competition. Its key competitors include the Redmi 13 5G (review) and Lava Blaze X (review), both of which have a similar starting price. The Redmi 13 5G is a better performer, has superior daylight cameras, charges faster, and offers longer software support compared to the Infinix Note 40X. The Lava Blaze X also outperforms in terms of speed, boasts an exquisite design, charges as quickly as the Redmi 13 5G, features an AMOLED display for a better multimedia experience, and has a clean, stock Android-like UI.

The Infinix Note 40S is a fantastic smartphone to buy if you are on a budget. Infinix has got a lot of things right with this smartphone, which is surprising for a budget category. Let’s start with the design. This phone borrowed the design from the company’s more expensive Infinix Note 40 phone and it’s a fantastic design and looks quite good on this phone. As for the display, you get a great display that is color-accurate and gets quite bright outdoors. The chipset is also quite decent for the price range. The same goes for the primary rear and selfie cameras. The battery is also fantastic and the phone has both wired and wireless charging, which is unheard of in a budget phone category. Smartphones that have wireless charging are usually quite expensive.
