Reviews for the LG L90
"Design-Smartphone" – that's what the South Korean manufacturer LG calls it. But the question is why, since the smartphone looks like any other smartphone at first. The rival Moto G is also powered by the Snapdragon 400 and has a 4.7-inch screen. So what is the L90 capable of?

Pros: Good Battery life, Performance lag free, and the size of it is comfortable. Cons: Low screen resolution, body is slippery if not put in a cover, and low internal memory.

Leaving the MRP aside, the LG L90 Dual can be bought online and in most retail stores for as low as Rs 16,500. Its closest competition here is the Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo, although calling it competition would be a bit of a stretch. As it so happens, the L90 Dual doesn’t really have any strong competition if you compare its feature set with other offerings in this segment. It actually makes a very strong case, despite some of its shortcomings; we would recommend this phone if your budget permits. We didn’t like the fact that it doesn’t have an ambient light sensor or a notification LED, while the camera is average at best and battery life is strictly OK. Beyond this however, it’s a value for money handset which features the latest version of Android, has a great feature set (IR blaster, Clip Tray) and is powerful enough to run most of the current apps and games with ease.

We have mixed feelings about the LG L90. It could have been a great phone, but it just feels old and underpowered, with modern software bogging it down. LG seriously needs to take care of issues like the pointless Menu button, and tone down its UI. Its biggest problem is its pricing. Even the current street price is well above the level that competitors such as the Moto G and Xolo Q1100 sell at, and both models beat it in terms of specifications as well as performance. LG is going to have to do a lot more work developing products and understanding the markets. The L90 could be a good budget phone, but it just isn't right at this price.

The L90 Dual is a sensibly sized phone available for around Rs 16,500. It offers smooth performance and flexibility to switch between SIM cards. Knockcode is an interesting feature, but in its current form it’s a hit and miss affair. Even if it worked well, I don’t think it’s something that will drive users to buy this phone. On the other hand, the display and camera are disappointing. Although this is subjective, I’m sure many will find the phone’s design too boring. So the L90 Dual isn’t a bad phone. However, the Moto G offers similar performance, HD screen, and a better design for 3.k less. So unless, LG bring the phone's price down by a couple of grands, we wouldn't recommend it.
