So, what is the LG X Mach and where does it sit? We see it as kind of a modernized G4 — it does have the same internals, but also a fingerprint scanner, and the new LG UX interface. All while it shies away from the “premium” build materials, which have become sort of a craze nowadays. We are pretty certain that there are users out there that still appreciate a comfortable, matte plastic-covered smartphone, and the LG X Mach may be just what they have been waiting to upgrade to.

Global brands are now making their effort to catch up with local bang-for-the-buck competitors, and the LG X Power is indeed a surprise for us as it’s a phone unexpected for a global brand> At Php8,495, the phone can compete with other devices in its price range with its long-lasting power, good rear optics and capable performance.

For the price, the LG X Power is a capable phone for Boost Mobile users that can keep you browsing, texting, and talking for hours longer than most comparable devices. The Samsung Galaxy J7 gets you a brighter AMOLED display, a sharper camera, and features like NFC and dual-band Wi-Fi, but it'll cost you $70 more. The LG Stylo 2 is more affordable and has some useful stylus-optimized features, but it's held back by an aging processor.

For a phone that's all about the battery, we expected this to last even longer - like its rivals do. The camera is poor in low light and the components are low powered. There's not much to like here.

Who is this phone for? This phone is really for those out there who do not require a flagship phone with the fastest processor or the most stylish design. This is for the average Joe and Jill who want a phone that just works and lasts for a long time before needing to be charged. Sure it may not interact with Android Auto as it should but there was a way around that, but once again, the people who this phone is targetted at are unlikely to use Android Auto. This would be the perfect phone for my mother, my father, probably even my wife, and especially younger kids who MUST have a phone but do not require the best phone around.

The LG X Power has a name that may suggest powerful performance, but it’s all about the battery. This mid-ranger isn’t a device made to impress, and it’s really meant for users who don’t do that much on their phones yet often complain about battery life. If messaging and social media are your primary uses, whereas gaming and video are not, the X Power is well suited for you.

Value is pretty decent as you can pick up this device off-contract at major carriers up here in Canada for $249 CAD. In the USA you should be able to pick it up for well under $200 and depending on where you pick it up, it could be unlocked. At the start of testing, only Bell was carrying it here in the Great White North, but now it's available almost everywhere. Overall this phone is great and delivers on LGs promise of a phone with a huge battery that isn't a huge device. If you're looking for a phone that you'll have to charge a couple times a week instead of a couple times a day, this is about your only choice. As I mentioned earlier, there are a few things that could be better, but overall it won't disappoint; not for the price.

Now we return to the question posed at the beginning of this review: is the LG X Power good enough to be someone’s starter phone? My answer would have to be no. I wish for the sake of its glorious battery, that I could recommend it, but it’s many flaws disallow me from doing so in good conscience. There are simply better options in the same range.

Large battery with nothing behind it? The LG X power2 promises a long battery life with its high-capacity battery. But besides the battery life, there are many other aspects that make a good smartphone. In our test we will find out whether LG's mid-range device can deliver here.

The LG X Power 2 isn't the prettiest phone available. Sitting in this "mass tier" of devices, it hasn't been designed to turn heads, it's been designed to outlast everything else. Given the size of the battery and the relatively low level of spec elsewhere, we suspect that it will sail through a day with few problems.

It definitely looks like LG has made sacrifices in other areas to really focus on good battery life, so it’ll all boil down to how well it actually lasts in real-world use. That will have to wait until we give the X Power2 a full review, so fingers crossed it can match up to our expectations.

If long battery life is your priority in a phone then the LG X Power 2 could very well be for you. The success of the LG X Power 2 is likely to depend on its price – too close to £200 and the Lenovo P2 becomes a rival that's almost too big to overcome.

The X Power 2 is due to launch in March in Latin America, before hitting the US, Asia, Europe, and other regions. We don't know pricing yet, but the X Power was a relatively affordable device, so we expect the X Power 2 to fall within the same $100 to $200 range. Check back for more details and a full review when we get the phone in for testing.

Overall, the LG X venture is a handset that is quite capable and is a good option for someone looking for a decent performer with lots of battery life. Sure, it doesn’t have the best camera or appearance, but it makes up for that in other ways. Perhaps the biggest draw for the device will be that it is certified MIL-STD 810G device and has an IP68 rating, giving the user a bit more freedom when it comes to being carefree. While it wasn’t abused during the course of the review, it was lightly tossed about more than normal and also submerged in water.

Ideally, the X Venture would cost $50 to $75 less, which would make it more competitive when compared with budget phones like the $230 Moto G5 Plus. Even so, if you just want something simple, tough and affordable, the X Venture is a solid choice.

For $330, the LG X Venture gives you a good combination of durability, performance, and size. Compared with the brick-like Sonim XP6 and Cat S60, the X Venture is a svelte device that won't weigh down your pocket, but still offers solid protection. The Galaxy S7 Active is a more powerful phone all around, but it's also a lot more expensive. The Kyocera DuraForce Pro is our Editors' Choice in this price range thanks to its superior durability and more powerful hardware, but it still costs nearly $100 more, making the X Venture an attractive alternative if you're looking to spend less.

The LG X Venture isn’t a phone for everyone, but it’s also not supposed to be. If you positively need the latest and greatest, this phone likely won’t even be on your radar, but if you’re looking for something that’s well-rounded and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg, you might have a winner.

The LG X Charge offers a reasonable level of performance and tons of battery life for the price. If you're a heavy user or a major traveler, the battery can last you longer than most other midrange phones. But as far as Amazon Prime phones go, you have better options. For a little bit more money, the Moto G5 Plus gets you a faster processor, a sharper screen, and a higher-quality metal build (albeit with less battery life). Even if battery is your primary concern, the Moto E4 Plus lasts longer than the X Charge and costs $30 less, plus it has a fingerprint sensor and is compatible with all major US carriers.
