As a Chromebook convertible, the Duet wants to replace laptops and tablets in the budget entry-level segment. The following review will reveal the limitations that users have to put up with.

100% Lenovo IdeaPad Duet review: The little Chromebook hybrid tablet that could
Source: Expert Reviews English EN→zh-CN
After the failure of the Chromebook Pixel, it looked like the whole concept of the Chrome OS tablet was dead. Yet with its style, stamina and all-round usability, the IdeaPad Duet turns this around. We can forgive the poor performance in the face of how effectively it manages everything else, and it’s only the lack of size that makes it impractical for more demanding users. If you’re looking for a versatile Chrome OS all-rounder that can handle Android apps, look no further.

Lenovo Chromebook Duet review: Practically a steal
Source: Android Authority English EN→zh-CN
For just $249 (64GB), the Lenovo Chromebook Duet is practically a steal. Most Chromebooks in the sub-$300 space are clunky 14-inchers that offer little in the way of flexibility. The Duet is more flexible and more affordable than much of the competition, and that makes it a powerful foe. It’s not perfect. The keyboard may simply be too small for some, and performance can be hit or miss, depending on what you’re doing. It’s not entirely stable on your lap, though it works well on a table or desk. And some may simply not be down with Chrome OS as a tablet user interface. I think these weaknesses are worth overlooking. On the plus side, the Duet offers a fine display, class-leading battery life, and a compact and portable form factor that converts from laptop to tablet on a whim. Most importantly, it’s affordable. Even the $299 (128GB) version is priced competitively. It costs less than an entry-level iPad — and the keyboard is included.

880% Lenovo Chromebook Duet 3 review: $300 well spent
Source: Digital Trends English EN→zh-CN
The Lenovo Chromebook Duet 3 is a fantastic value at $300, particularly given that the folio kickstand and detachable keyboard are included. And it’s not just about the price — this little Chrome OS tablet can handle a surprising range of tasks, falling short of only the most demanding productivity and creative workflows. You’ll spend hundreds of dollars more for a similar setup that won’t gain you much additional functionality. The Lenovo Chromebook Duet 3 is the best budget Chrome OS tablet (a little) money can buy.

Lenovo brands the Lenovo Duet as a device that can do it all: it can work hard when you need it but gets out of the way when you just want to play games or watch movies. In my experience, I'm not sure how many of us would want to use a 10.1-inch screen as our primary computer, but the Duet can hack it for my work — answering emails, research, writing, and photo editing — and I bet it can hack it for yours, too. Where the Duet really shines is as a companion device, as a tablet that you can use while the kids are hogging the family computer or you're in the backyard away from your desktop. The Duet is a battery-sipping beauty that may not be the sleekest or shiniest tablet around, but it's certainly the most practical tablet out there. Even as we head into 2022, that's exactly what we need. Chrome OS offers you a desktop-grade experience when you need to VPN into work for a quick report or knock out a few dozen emails while you wait for everyone to assemble for movie night, and it offers up battery life that stands out even among Chromebooks.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Duet Chromebook strikes the perfect balance between tablet portability and Chromebook utility, all while keeping the price ridiculously low - and somehow packing in a Lich King of a battery that simply refuses to die. Finally, it does all this for less than $300. As far as Chromebooks and 2-in-1 laptops go, this is the best value you're going to find in a portable device of its kind, hands down. It's the computer that last decade's netbooks promised to be - but couldn't quite become - while taking the Chromebook to its next logical step.

I really enjoyed my time with the Duet. It scratches that itch of quick productivity, but it also delivers a good second screen experience when sitting on the couch or when my daughter wants to watch something while we're out at dinner. It generally lives either in my work bag, where I do not even notice its presence, or in the kitchen where I use it almost every time I walk in to make some food. I'm never going to try and game on this thing nor do I expect to do heavy video editing. That's just not what it's designed to do. At less than $300, I don't think you're going to find much better than this on the market in the next year or so.

This Lenovo Chromebook Duet review shows why it should garner deserved attention for its value proposition, giving you a 2-in-1 with a solid screen and long endurance for less than the iPad or Surface Go 2 cost, before their keyboards. If only its keyboard weren't so cramped and its hinge felt a bit more solid. Those who opt for the Surface Go 2 for its faster performance and superior 2-in-1 design, you'll be dropping about an hour of battery life and paying at least $221 more after throwing in the Type Cover keyboard. But for families looking for a device that everyone can use, from kids watching YouTube to parents drafting emails, the Lenovo Chromebook Duet is a compelling option.

Google might have given up on the idea of a Chrome OS tablet with the demise of the Pixel Slate, but that hasn’t stopped Lenovo. The IdeaPad Duet is a 10.1in tablet running Chrome OS and supplied with a rear cover that doubles as a fold-out stand, plus a magnetic clip-on keyboard that instantly transforms it into a productivity device. Take a look at the price and you’ll expect the result to be a disaster, but here’s the surprise: while far from perfect, the IdeaPad Duet turns out to be a little wonder.

There’s a lot to like with the Lenovo Duet Chromebook: it is well-priced, has a good screen and works well as a tablet. It is less successful as a laptop, though: the keyboard and touchpad are too small to be comfortable to use for longer periods. If you are typing all day long, get a dedicated Chromebook with a bigger keyboard.

I would recommend the Duet as a buy for anyone who wants to cautiously move to ChromeOS, a secondary device, an in-a-pinch substitute or a an additional screen in this new work-from-home reality. I don’t think the current Duet is ready to take on heavy workloads just yet, but if Lenovo keeps at it, the Duet 2 might be in the conversation with iPad Pro, Galaxy Tabs, and Surface Pros with just a few tweaks. Will ChromeOS keep pace? That may be another story.

As someone who has made use of a Surface Go for a long time (I used it at MWC last year even) I love the smaller, more portable form factor. I don’t mind a smaller keyboard — I’m not a full touch-typer anyway so it did not fuss me too much. I would have liked the keyboard to be backlit though but that of course depends on where and when you use it yourself.

The Chromebook Duet earns an honorable mention among Chromebooks for consumers and captures our Editors' Choice among Chromebooks for students. Lenovo's Chromebook Duet 3 is bigger, brighter and more powerful than the original Duet. While it's more expensive and can't last quite as long on a single charge, it occupies the same sweet spot: A cheap, performant Chrome tablet with a packed-in keyboard that makes it a surprisingly versatile 2-in-1.

And as more tablets enter the scene, this will all be worth remembering. Both of these form factors have a place in the Chromebook ecosystem and there are enough interested users to demand the existence of both of these tablets. I can assure you more will follow and I can assure you there is no way for a smaller tablet to fill in for a larger tablet and vice-versa. Yes, they are both tablets, but they are very different expressions of that form factor, and the more you can identify what sort of engagement you’ll have with them, the better your chances will be of choosing the right device for the job.

The Duet 3 is an improvement over the original Duet in some smart ways. Lenovo upgraded the screen and boosted its resolution, making everything you view on it look better. The second USB-C port is also a nice addition that makes the Duet 3 a more feasible productivity device, because you can now plug it into power and a USB hub at the same time to use your favorite keyboard and mouse (or whatever accessories you prefer). That said, there are better options if you're willing to spend more money. As good as the Duet 3 is, Apple's base iPad outperforms it in nearly all areas, and now that the Duet 3 is creeping up past the $300 mark it's not actually any cheaper than a base iPad ($329 to start). Of course, the iPad doesn't come with a keyboard bundled in, and it also doesn't support Apple's excellent Magic Keyboard, so you'd have to pay an additional $159 for a Smart Keyboard to make your new iPad as functional as the Duet 3. The Smart Keyboard isn't much better than the Duet's detachable keyboard anyhow, so you'll end up paying over $100 more for a similarly subpar tablet typing experience.

80% Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 3 review: An impressive package for the price
Source: Pocket Lint English EN→zh-CN
The IdeaPad Duet 3 isn't perfect - it provides fairly modest performance, while its speakers are sadly underpowered, and the detachable stand proves quite irritating at times. Even so, it still serves up good value for money, thanks to its bright, colourful high-res display, which works a treat for streaming video, viewing photos and web browsing. The folio keyboard could be more elegantly designed, but it's good to see that the stylus and keyboard are included in the price - perfect for if you simply want a low-cost, reliable tablet for productivity, web browsing and entertainment.

80% A day with the Lenovo Chromebook Duet 3
Source: The Verge English EN→zh-CN
Here I was using the touchpad, which has a surprisingly deep and satisfying click for a detachable deck. I didn’t feel cramped when I scrolled or navigated with gestures (though people with larger fingers might). And it did a decent job of rejecting my fingerprints, remaining quite smooth at the end of the day. And for the activities my friends and I were doing that night — watching videos, reading articles, and editing Google Docs, without the frantic rush of the office workday — the Duet was snappy, with no slowdown in sight. The sturdy keyboard and excellent screen were icing on the cake.

Why the new Lenovo Chromebook Duet 3 is worth the money to upgrade versus the original [VIDEO]
Source: Chrome Unboxed English EN→zh-CN
My recommendation? Find a way to buy the newer Duet 3 if it is at all possible and if the older model isn’t on some sort of fire sale. You won’t regret it, I promise. The difference between the two isn’t iteration: it is near complete overhaul, and all for the better. We made this post and video to point out that specific fact and to make it very clear that although these tablets do bear a passing resemblance, they couldn’t be more different in actual use. If you plan on using either for an extended period of time and want to actually get productive at all with it, I can’t urge you enough to go for the Duet 3. You’ll thank me later.

Lenovo IdeaPad Chromebook Duet 3 (2022) Review
Source: Reviewed.com English EN→zh-CN
Overall, the Chromebook Duet 3 isn't a bad Chromebook, but it just doesn’t offer the same performance as its closest rivals. Were it a hundred dollars cheaper, it would be a fantastic value for those who want a basic tablet for web surfing or movie streaming. As it stands, there are better options with ChromeOS, iPadOS, and Windows 11.

Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 3 Chromebook review: A sequel with much more to offer
Source: XDA Developers English EN→zh-CN
There have been a number of attempts at ChromeOS tablets but it finally feels like we’re actually there. It’s actually a product you can recommend at last, and Lenovo has both the Duet 3 and the Duet 5 if you’re looking for a larger display. There are still areas that can be improved upon, and some of those need to come from Google. But on the whole the Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 3 is a Chromebook worth recommending. For one it’s an ideal alternative to an Android tablet. Small enough to be portable and to use comfortably with your favorite Android apps, but ChromeOS is more tailored to actual computer use. The versatility of having both a laptop and a tablet in one device is never to be ignored. That’s what also makes it a great choice for students. If a pen is one of your key requirements, then it’s perhaps not the best choice right now, but when Lenovo’s is easier to get hold of it’s tailored for this device and quite affordable. As a follow-up to a much-loved Chromebook though this is certainly a worthy sequel. All the charm of the original Duet remains with the biggest drawbacks significantly improved upon.

Lenovo Chromebook Duet 3 (2022) Review: Budget Chromebooks are getting better
Source: On MSFT English EN→zh-CN
For $350, there are few complaints this time around from me on the Duet 3 (2022). Not that price is an overwhelming factor in my use-case scenarios, but for many budgets are a real constraint, and Lenovo has addressed many of the complaints I had with the hardware and performance of the original Duet. Going into school season this year, Duet 3 (2022) is definitely recommended for anyone who lives and breathes Google and Android. With the addition of a second port, users can now enable the Duet (2022) to power their home office, or dorm room setup for as little as $300.

Source: Zdnet.com English EN→zh-CN
The Lenovo Chromebook Duet 3 is an impressive 2-in-1 that performs just as well as some more expensive Chromebooks. While its limited operating system and power may be off-putting for professionals, the tablet is suitable for students, traveling workers, and casual users who want a reliable machine for less.

Lenovo Chromebook Duet 3 review: a perfect sequel
Source: Chrome Unboxed English EN→zh-CN
Once that USI Pen issue is tidied up, however, there’s little to knock the Duet 3 for. It’s the device I wanted the original Duet to be, and I really think Lenovo did everything you could expect when putting this little Chromebook together. With so many upgrades, this tablet is an easy-to-recommend device for a wide swath of users. It’s powerful enough for mobile productivity, but sized the right way for real tablet use, too. With a great screen, vastly improved keyboard, trackpad and speed, I’d have to crown this as the best overall tablet in the ChromeOS market right now. With a few changes that are likely on the way – more RAM and a supported pen – it will be tough for anyone to make a better Chromebook tablet in 2022 if you ask me. Perfect? No, but it sure does feel like a perfect sequel.

70% Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 5i review: Surface Pro on a budget?
Source: Digital Trends English EN→zh-CN
The IdeaPad Duet 5i is attractively priced at $790, including its folio keyboard. That makes it significantly less expensive than the Surface Pro 9 and XPS 13 2-in-1. The downside is that the budget price brings budget components, including a slower Core i3 CPU, the slowest Intel UHD graphics, and only 128GB of storage. Dell offers four times as much storage in its entry-level configuration, and as of right now, you couldn’t upgrade even if you wanted to. And we don’t know how much the IdeaPad would cost with higher-end components. So, that makes it a solid option as configured and priced, which is what I’m reviewing. As such, if you want a tablet that provides a bright and colorful display, solid inking and touch support, competent performance and battery life, and a comfortable kickstand, then the IdeaPad Duet 5i is an attractive choice.

80% Lenovo IdeaPad Windows Duet 5i Review
Source: PC Mag English EN→zh-CN
All told, the Windows version of Lenovo's IdeaPad Duet 5i hits all of its marks and holds superior value compared to popular competitors. Microsoft's Surface Pro is the pace-setter in this category, with Dell's XPS 13 2-in-1 following its lead. The Lenovo doesn't have quite the premium feel those detachables do, and its 128GB of storage and Core i3 processor might cramp your style (the storage especially). But its build quality is impressive, and its performance is a pleasant surprise for its price and what it includes. These reasonable concessions help keep the cost down, and they are not enough to keep it from earning our Editors' Choice for this tier. If you want a Windows tablet for grab-and-go productivity and entertainment, it fills a nifty niche between cheaper and more deluxe 2-in-1 laptops.
