That Lenovo's Legion Phone Duel is a gaming smartphone is obvious at first glance. Thanks to the 144 Hz screen and extreme performance, it feels extremely smooth and the price is also convincing. However, there are also small flaws...

When it comes to gaming, there's little better, with optimised design and software additions to boost the gaming experience. There's a trade-off in daily usage based on that design - but you do get a lot of (gaming) phone for your money.

The Lenovo Legion Phone Duel is a good gaming phone and it’s certainly one that is worth considering over its competition. You get a display with 144Hz refresh rate, excellent performance, surprisingly good camera, decent stereo speaker experience, RGB lighting, pop-up selfie camera orientation that is perfect for streaming / video calls. However, the UI feels a little outdated, it’s a little pricey, the competition packs more value in their gaming phone offerings with free coolers and other accessories, the battery life could be better, no headphone jack, the colours become a little dull at high refresh rates, and there’s the worry of the longevity of the pop-up camera module.

At RM3399, we think it's not a bad option for owning a mobile gaming phone. Besides the badass futuristic gaming design, the Legion Phone Duel does what all other gaming phones do best but with a twist - streaming your games online without any interference and that's the main selling point. So as we said before, only serious mobile gamers and streamers should get this phone.

The Lenovo Legion Phone Duel is a high-end gaming phone packed with quirky features such dual batteries, pop-up selfie camera and ultrasonic shoulder keys. Such features makes this a dream phone for mobile gamers, especially if you fancy streaming your screen to an audience, but those looking for a jack-of-all-trades smartphone can find far better value elsewhere.

As a recording device, the Lenovo Legion Phone Pro is not terribly adept, but again, this may be a function of priorities. The device worked fairly well in the memo and meeting use cases, with few artifacts and stereo recording. But the timbre performance was poor in most use cases, and especially in the electronic concert use case, where the recorded audio was simply bad. The poor artifacts performance contributed to the poor dynamics and spatial performances in life video and selfie video, and the recordings in those cases were mono. Had the device been better designed for recording, its overall score would have been better.

Gaming phones are no longer new, and there are several options available for smartphones in this category. However, the Legion Phone Duel impresses us with its gaming-centric features to satisfy a serious gamer’s basic needs. There’s landscape orientation of the front camera, which streamers will love, and the fast dual Type-C charging that will save gamers time. Do we need to mention the most powerful Qualcomm chip to date, large RAM, fast storage, 5G connectivity, and 144Hz AMOLED display? The Legion Phone Duel is simply a beast.

The Lenovo Legion Phone Duel is big, loud, and powerful, and gives ASUS’s ROG Phone 3 serious competition for the title of the best gaming phone in the Philippines. While the phone doesn’t have as robust of an accessory library as its main rival, it makes up for it nice to have additions like the side-mounted pop-up camera for streamers.

While it’s been a while since I’ve reviewed a gaming phone, the Lenovo Legion Phone Duel is an excellent entry into the market. Not only does it have a slick design, but it also has flagship specifications, a huge amount of RAM and storage, great performance, and other fun features. Too bad it’s not available for sale in North America at this time… but even so, it still deserves an Editor’s Choice Award here at Techaeris.

The Lenovo Legion Phone Duel is a really cool device, and if you're looking for the best in performance, look no further. The Lenovo Legion Duel 2 is a fine gaming phone with a laser-like focus on giving you a premium gaming experience. Its landscape-weighted design makes it uniquely suited to extended gaming sessions, as does its dual charging system, and it’s just about as powerful and fluid as they come. It does compromise on a number of everyday concerns in order to attain gaming mastery at an acceptable price, however. This is one of the most unwieldy phones I've ever used, at least in portrait usage, while the camera barely competes with the better mid-priced phones on the market. All in all, the Nubia Redmagic 6S Pro matches or even beats the Lenovo Legion Duel 2 in most of the ways that will count to gamers, with a more compact design and a much lower price. It remains our Best Buy pick for avid gamers, though the Lenovo Legion Duel 2’s ‘go big or go home’ approach makes it well worth considering as a more expansive gaming alternative.

The Lenovo Legion Phone Duel 2 is one of the extraordinary and unique smartphones out there. The design features Octa-trigger, Dual Turbo Cooling Fan, and RGB lighting. The body is an ATA 2.0 architecture that properly manages heat on the device. Check out our video review to learn more.

The Lenovo Legion Phone Duel 2 is a gaming beast with a lesser impression on its camera and durability. But the design and architecture are solid, they solved the heating problem when playing for a long period of time and if you’re not going to force it to bend, there are no problems at all. Legion Phon Duel 2 is priced at P39,995 for the lower variant of 12GB of ram and 256GB of storage. If you are opting for the 16GB plus 512GB variant, it will cost P49,995. P10k more to double the storage and more ram for multitasking, it is quite a bummer as the phone doesn’t offer expandable storage, but the 16GB of ram is perfect for stream games on a single handset. If you are not into gaming, other choices in the market would satisfy your needs, like the flagship models. But if you are really opting for a gaming focus machine with an innovative build, astonishing gaming features paired with top-of-the-line specs, the Legion Phone Duel 2 is surely one of the top picks in the market of Gaming focus mobile devices.

The Lenovo Legion Phone Duel 2 is a very powerful phone as we’ve found out in our review of the device for the Philippines but prospective buyers need to be aware that they’re essentially buying a device that prioritizes the gaming experience first, and the phone stuff second. That aside, the Lenovo Legion Phone Duel 2 is a great phone for Android gaming, thanks to its powerful innards and gamer-centric features, as well as its long battery life. Probably the only thing we’ll knock it for is the lack of gaming accessories that’s available for it, unlike its main rival, though if you’re looking for pure performance, it’s hard to find another phone quite like it.

It’s no longer surprising to see how gaming smartphones are getting the hype nowadays. The Lenovo Legion Phone Duel 2 indeed deserves the hype with the premium look and flagship performance. It’s got the looks, a great display, immersive speakers, great performance with good thermal management, powerful charging capabilities, and it’s loaded with gaming features that can satisfy competitive gamers. It’s got a competitive price tag, too.

Beyond its bold and gaudy exterior lies an exceptionally capable and mostly refined device that is a pleasure to use. Though it is big and bulky, it is solidly built and feels premium in the hand. Its display is a pleasure to use through and through, and the in-built speakers are among the better options available on the market today.

Gaming phones are some of the coolest phones ever. This Legion Duel Phone 2 is definitely one of the coolest. Literally... with its two fans. Its pretty cool. Inside and outside. But is it durable? The Legion duel phone 2 is heavy, but its also oddly shaped... The only way to find out for sure is with a durability test. Remember, durability is not the only factor to consider when picking out your next phone. A good case will solve all structural issues.

In terms of audio, Lenovo’s Legion Pro line has made quite a leap forward since its first generation: from a score of 59 for its first iteration, the Legion Phone 2 Pro racked up a 71 on our Audio ranking scale. This score reflects the phone’s good playback performance, including excellent volume results, substantial bass, intelligible voices, impactful dynamics, and immersive spatial attributes, all of which make it highly suited for gaming. That said, the Phone 2 Pro is not particularly recommended for listening to music or watching movies, nor is it a skilled recording device.

Appearing on the market in April 2021, the Lenovo Legion Phone 2 Pro is designed for gamers. It comes with a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor and a large (5500 mAh) battery with fast charging, as well as a multi-cam setup with a 64 MP main camera. Let’s take a look at how well it performed in our Display protocol tests. The Lenovo Legion Phone 2 Pro struggles to provide sufficient brightness for easy readability, and its screen is among the least uniform for both brightness and color of all devices tested thus far. It fared somewhat better in our tests for motion, touch, and artifacts.
