Reviews for the Lenovo Legion Pro 5 16IRX8
Legion Pro 5系列是联想中端游戏笔记本电脑的家,但考虑到仅RTX 4050就超过1400美元的高昂起价,我们的期望还是很高。只要你能接受一些明显的缺点,该机型在大多数方面都令人印象深刻。

This 2023 gen8 Lenovo Legion Pro 5i is a competitive daily/work/gaming laptop in the mid-tier segment, especially with the kind of aggressive sales that Lenovo are pushing right now. This RTX 4060 configuration reviewed here is the fastest of its kind we've tested so far, and makes this Legion a very good no-fuss computer. Just don't expect much from the speakers or long runtimes on battery use.

But in return, the laptop loses out on battery life and portability. Unless you want to play games with desktop-level performance or spend a lot of time rendering 3D models, you might be better off sacrificing a bit of power for practicality. The Acer Predator Triton 500 SE is about on par with the Lenovo Legion Pro 5i in battery life, display specs, and performance, but it’s much thinner. The Asus ROG Strix G18 offers better performance and better battery life (9 hours and 43 minutes versus the Legion’s 2 hours and 43 minutes). But the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro succeeds in what it sets out to do, squeezing the best performance possible from its components. Even with its drawbacks, it’s an undeniable step up from budget gaming laptops with muddy displays and middling performance, but it’s not the kind of laptop any gamer can love. It can replace your desktop, but it can’t replace your thin and light laptop.

The midpriced Lenovo Legion Pro 5i Gen 8 follows some of our favorite gaming machines, including last year's model and the higher-end Legion Pro 7i Gen 8 tested earlier this year. But pedigree doesn't count for much in the computer world, and gaming laptops require a certain level of power and graphics performance to justify their prices. The Pro 5i Gen 8 just doesn't do that, offering middling CPU and GPU performance rather than the sort of muscle that would make it a great value. This Legion isn't a bad gaming rig, but if it's a good deal you seek, you might want to wait until it's on sale...preferably with a 1TB drive.

The Lenovo Legion Pro 5i is a well-designed, subtle office-approved gaming laptop that can also handle your daily productivity tasks at work. It’s equally at home in the office, the local cafe, or your remote workstation. The combination of Intel’s Core i7 CPU and Nvidia 4060 GPU works perfectly to deliver users all the oomph most will ever need. From slaughtering enemies in Assassin's Creed to producing a great spreadsheet, the Legion Pro 5i has you covered for under $1,500. When you add the immersive 16-inch display and large comfortable keyboard, the 5i is a solid choice for those seeking a solid mid-tier gaming laptop.

Lenovo’s Legion 5 Pro remains an easy recommendation. Its robust build, professional exterior, and excellent keyboard set it apart from rivals, and it delivers solid performance for both productivity and gaming. The Legion 5 Pro is a large, heavy laptop, and mediocre battery life makes it a poor travel companion. Still, it’s a great choice for gamers who need a fast laptop at a reasonable price.

Unlike the Lenovo Legion Pro 7i that was released earlier this year, the Lenovo Legion Pro 5i is a much more affordable gaming laptop that offers excellent performance for its price point. It comes in two separate types: the Legion Pro 5i outfitted with an Intel CPU and the Legion Pro 5 which comes with an AMD CPU. Both versions use an Nvidia 4000-series GPU, as AMD The cheapest configuration you can nab without having to customize one yourself is about $1,259.99 / £1,410 (including VAT) / AU$2,499, which is far more affordable than most of the best gaming laptops on the market while still commanding respectable specs. I received two personal review units — the first came with the Intel Core i7-13700HX and the second with an AMD Ryzen 7 7745HX. Both come with an Nvidia GPU, as AMD hasn’t yet released gaming laptops with mobile processors.

Review of the 2023 Lenovo Legion Pro 5i Gen 8 gaming laptop. It comes with an Intel I7-13700H CPU and a NVIDIA RTX 4060 GPU. Not much has changed in terms of the design but Lenovo did remove some of its features making this laptop a little less "pro". Watch for the full review!
