Lenovo wants to bring its premium Yoga convertible to the next level, with the help of the latest Ice Lake CPUs from Intel. Compared with the predecessor, Lenovo has not changed much and instead has opted to work on a few weak-points. In our review, this strategy certainly pays off!

At $3,699 it’s very expensive although most purchasers will likely use LenovoPro’s business payment and leasing options. While we’re disappointed with the connectivity and didn’t like the harsh keyboard, for those who need to frequently use it as a tablet form factor, it’s an attractive proposition.

The Lenovo Yoga ain't cheap, but you also get a well appointed piece of hardware for tour money. It can also do everything a remote worker would want, plus it looks the business. The only thing it fails to impress on is the real-world application of its many modes.

Whichever way you slice it, then, the Lenovo Yoga C940 is a mighty fine 2-in-1. It’s as fast as all its rivals and outlasts them for battery life. It has broad connectivity, impressive speakers and its only weakness is the display. (But, in general, it’s still a good screen.) With a sleek chassis, solid 360˚ hinge and a bundled stylus, you have a 2-in-1 that combines good looks and great performance – and all at a keen price. If you want a 2-in-1, it has to be either this or the Dell XPS 13 2-in-1. For our money, the Lenovo Yoga C940 edges it.

The Lenovo Yoga C940 is a stylish premium convertible with lots of aces under its deck. For one, it is simply a stunner in terms of design and very compact, which grants mobility to its users. It has enough processing speed to run most productivity apps and digital content software. In terms of entertainment, it delivers impressive visual and audio quality. However, for its price of PHP 99,995, the inclusion of a USB-C adapter for additional ports would have been nice. It’s also good that Lenovo made sure that the USB Type-C ports support DisplayPort, Thunderbolt 3, and PD charging.

Overall, there's a whole lot to like in Lenovo's 14-inch Yoga C940. Svelte looks, good performance, and a clever stylus combine for a unique and interesting package that won't break the bank. Including the stylus in its own charging silo, and great starting and upgraded pricing, makes the system an very solid value for folks in the market for a 2-in-1 premium laptop. For that reason, we gladly bestow upon it HotHardware's Recommended Award.

Practically, anyone. There are few compromises with the C940 14-inch for any Windows 10 user. There is little point in wasting time trying to convert macOS advocates, but for anyone already entrenched in Windows, especially Windows 10, the C940 should be a no-brainer of a choice. The C940 does not live in a vacuum, and Dell XPS continues to provide a similar bang-for-buck, but Lenovo’s steady refinement of the 2-in-1 ultrabook shouldn’t be overlooked for students, business professionals, educators, artists, writers, photographers, and even podcasters.

Priced at Php 99,995, the Yoga C940 initially appears to be expensive since it does not come with a dedicated GPU. However, you get what you pay for with features such as a 360-degree rotating soundbar and a bright and vibrant 4K display. The Yoga C940’s Ice Lake CPU and Iris Plus G7 integrated graphics make for a good combo, as they have enough muscle to handle multimedia and photo/video editing tasks. Even with a power-hungry 4K display, the 10mn lithography of the Ice Lake CPU manages to push the Yoga C940’s battery to a decent 5 hours of usage.

Lenovo’s C940 Yoga 14 just might be the laptop Goldilocks would pick if she found it in the Three Bears' house. It's neither too much nor too little of what most people need in a 2-in-1 convertible laptop—it's just right.

The Lenovo Yoga C940 is the latest in a long line of flagships from one of the most well-known and beloved laptop manufacturers on the market. In many ways this laptop is just an iteration on last year's Lenovo Yoga C930, but with much a much more capable processor and graphics.

Lenovo has largely defined the 2-in-1 space over the last decade and the Yoga C940 is another solid example of why that’s the case. From the clever hinge design to the excellent speakers and solid construction the device feels and sounds great whether you are using it as a laptop, a tablet, or watching content in tent mode. If you are looking for one device to do it all for you, but want to be sure you are sacrificing anything on the laptop side of things, the Lenovo Yoga C940 is a great option.

The Lenovo Yoga C940 is an attractive all-metal ultrabook with the same flexibility as its Yoga siblings. Users can expect an excellent combination of style, performance, battery life, and functionality, as well as some advanced features like a built-in stylus, fingerprint sensor, and the very unique rotating soundbar. Though the 4K version of the laptop comes with a hit to battery life, the display is a great option for photographers and other graphics professionals.

One of the strongest points of this laptop is its display. Its 1080p IPS panel (LG LP140WF9-SPE2) has good maximum brightness, comfortable viewing angles, great contrast ratio and doesn’t use PWM to adjust its brightness levels. In terms of color representation, it is able to recreate 94% of the colors in sRGB and with the help of our Gaming and Web design profile, the display reaches an Average dE of 0.7, which is great for color-sensitive work.

After making several Yoga C900 subnotebooks for years, Lenovo is ready to expand the lineup to include larger 15.6-inch sizes. The Yoga C940-15 sacrifices little in terms of performance and chassis quality especially for a convertible.

Overall, I quite liked the Lenovo Yoga C940. Aside from the size -- which for my taste, was just a bit too large -- the Yoga offers a unique 2-in-1 system that gives you all the benefits of a traditional clamshell laptop. I prefer Lenovo’s approach to Microsoft’s here, mostly because it trades off tablet usability for improved laptop performance.

As with so many other laptops, the Yoga C940 15’s worthiness is a matter of which trade-offs you’re willing to make. HP’s 15-inch Spectre x360 has a similar convertible design, but the version with GTX 1650 graphics has a much dimmer display. Dell’s XPS 15 7590 packs in 4K graphics and even better battery life, but its touchscreen variants get pricey and it’s not a convertible design. Gaming-first laptops like the Acer Nitro 7 will give you even better performance, but they’re not as nice to look at.

In the end, Lenovo pushed out a refresh of the Lenovo 930 with a slightly larger 15.6-inch screen, heavier build design and famed rotating soundbar hinge. The specs are up to date and will remain relevant for the foreseeable future. However, the convertible 2-in-1 design seems wasted on the C940, due in part to increase in size and weight. When spec’d out to the max, the C940 is probably best served as a portable desktop option that occasionally makes it off the desk and into a living room, board room or conference room.

The 15.6-inch Lenovo Yoga C940 is the middle ground between ultraportable two-in-ones and the larger screens and faster performance of desktop replacement laptops. Its slim body makes it more portable than older 15.6-inch notebooks and, while it's around 4.4 pounds (2 kg), it's still lighter on your lap and in your bag, too. With the bigger display, though, you've got more room to work than with a small two-in-one like the 13.3-inch HP's Spectre x360, but without losing the flexibility of the design. And the C940's six-core processor and discrete graphics lets you do things you simply can't with a smaller two-in-one.

If you've ever reached for your phone instead of your laptop simply because it's faster to wake up, unlock and start working, you'll appreciate what Lenovo's Yoga C940 can do. The company's flagship 14-inch two-in-one is an Intel Project Athena device, a select group of laptops co-engineered with Intel to perform more like your phone. While I never felt like its predecessor, the C930, was slow, it's surprising how responsive the C940 feels by comparison.
