Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Carbon leaves no stone unturned when it comes to proving itself as a modern-day laptop that you can carry around without worrying much about the battery and getting nearly all the basic work done with ease. You get a good Intel 11th-gen processor performance, which is capable enough to handle your browsing and working on documents, along with a Carbon Fibre build that is not just light but durable as well. And then you get a good battery performance as a cherry on top.

The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Carbon is a good productivity laptop if you really need a machine that is very light. You get solid build quality, reliable performance, 2.5K resolution display, comfortable keyboard, more than adequate memory capacity, good battery life, USB-C charging, and Thunderbolt 4 in a very lightweight body.

Take a ThinkPad X1 Nano, remove some features, and paint it white. Lenovo didn't do that, obviously, but the result would probably look very similar to the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Carbon. Lenovo's cheaper ultralight laptop can convince in our test - but with some weaknesses.

When a manufacturer aims to make a laptop ultra-slim and unreasonably light, alarm bells should sound. This combo can lead to all sorts of issues with battery life, build quality and performance. However, Lenovo has managed to dodge those with the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Carbon. For an Intel CPU laptop that weighs under 980g, yet lasts 9-10 hours for light work, the Slim 7i Carbon isn’t bad at all. However, there is a hit to performance over Lenovo’s less emaciated laptops with the same processor; but you’re more likely to notice the cooling fan, which sounds like it’s under strain. Stick to what the Slim 7i Carbon is made for, though – basic productivity jobs from any room in your home, or any home, in any country – and you’ll barely hear it at all. Note that I wouldn’t recommend the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Carbon if you’ll spend all day typing, though. While the keyboard is good for a slim-line 1mm-action design, it’s still wafer-thin by Lenovo standards.

Fortunately, fast charging with the 65W adapter is supported. This delivered a boost from 32% to 71% during a 45-minute charge. Still, for all its portability, this probably isn't the laptop to pick if you need all-day usage away from a mains power source. Although it lacks a fingerprint sensor and offers mediocre battery life in its Core i7/16GB configuration, Lenovo's Yoga Slim 7i Carbon is a serviceable, lightweight and distinctive-looking 13-inch laptop.

An ultraportable mid-range laptop that looks like it should cost a lot more than it does, the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Carbon is about the size of a notepad and it’s seriously lightweight. The battery life is average and while it doesn’t have all of the bells and whistles you get from a more pricey PC, for most everyday tasks it goes above and beyond what you'd expect at this price.

This is an amazing piece of technology – really nice to use and I enjoyed my time with it. I understand why it’s expensive, a lot of work has gone into it to make it light and fast – it has a great screen and a beautiful aesthetic. That being said, I’m not sure I’d be prepared to spend over $2000 on a laptop (for the 16GB RAM 512GB HDD version) when there are other less expensive – not so light or portable perhaps – options on the market. The RRP on this 8GB RAM 256GB HDD version is $1,799.00, however, it’s worth noting that the price can vary substantially depending on which store you visit – from as low as $1,299.00 all the way to $2,149.00 for the higher spec options, so it pays to shop around. All devices using only USB C is clearly where physical connectivity is headed, but we aren’t completely there yet, and this unit’s lack of backwards compatibility will be a point of consideration for many. This, along with the price tag, may see the Yoga Slim 7i passed over by many consumers in favour of other products.

If performance and portability are your priority, the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Carbon 2023 is easy to recommend. The company makes no compromises with the build quality. The weight distribution is also very balanced, which makes the laptop weightless in your backpack. While it does not include the latest 13th-Gen Intel Core processor, the 12th-Gen Intel Core i7 CPU can handle most tasks and the battery backup is also decent. The GPU department is average, therefore, don't expect the laptop to run heavy titles. I like that both sides of the laptop can be charged via the Type-C port. It removes the hassle of carrying an extra charger in the bag. All you need to ensure is that you have a PD charger, which can be used to charge your Android phone, wireless headphones, Kindle, and even the latest-gen iPad. iPhone users can also use an adapter with PD charging support, though the wire should have a Type-C port at the other end. However, at Rs 1.32 lakh, the Yoga Slim 7i Carbon is undoubtedly expensive, and if you don't care much about the build quality, the MacBook Air remains a valuable buy in this range. I may not recommend this laptop to students, but business customers who are always on the go can consider the Yoga Slim 7i Carbon as it won't take too much space in your bag and compromise productivity.

After spending a considerable amount of time with the Slim 7i Carbon the thing that I really like the most about it is its size and portability. This ultra-portable is only 2.17 lbs and super-thin being 14.8mm at its thickest point. This combined with the smaller 65W power adapter makes travelling or even just taking this laptop to and from work a breeze. On top of that with the rounded edges you have a really sleek package. This laptop packs in the Intel Core i7-1260P, 16 GB LPDDR5 memory, and a super-fast PCIe solid state drive. This means your boot times are going to be minimal and you’ll be able to throw pretty much anything in terms of productivity at this laptop. For me, I was able to do all of my daily tasks with ease on this laptop. This included web browsing, photo editing, e-mailing, etc. You are also getting very fast connectivity options like WiFi 6E and Thunderbolt 4. I really like that instead of a normal 60 Hz display Lenovo has included a 90 Hz display. This just looks better and smoother overall, which you’ll definitely appreciate, even if productivity applications. I will have to say I would have much rather have seen an OLED display though. With the thin and light design you are going to have some compromises. I think that the biggest has to be that you are only getting two USB-C ports in terms of connectivity. While Lenovo does include a dongle that gives you HDMI, DVI, a USB-A port, and headphone jack it is a bit clunky. I really wish Lenovo would design a dongle that sort of fit flush with the side of the laptop. Also I was very unimpressed with the 720p webcam. In the world of Zoom and Team meetings it would have nice to have at least a 1080p webcam here.I think that if you are looking for a thin and light laptop in the 13-14-inch size the Slim 7i Carbon should be on your list. It is more than powerful enough for most daily tasks and it is one very sleek package. The review model that we took a look at today is currently not available on Lenovo’s website, but there is an identical model that just has a larger SSD (1TB vs 512GB) for $1149.99. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Lenovo Slim 7i Carbon an 8 out of 10 score.

The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Carbon is an ultralight laptop made from Carbon Fiber Webcore 2.0 and aerospace-grade magnesium-aluminum alloy, weighing just 0.97 Kgs. It comes with a backlit keyboard and a high-performance 12th Gen Intel Core i7-1260P processor paired with 16 GB Soldered LPDDR5 RAM. However, the slim design has downsides, such as limited ports and the absence of a fingerprint reader. The laptop features an anti-glare IPS PureSight display with 2.5K resolution, 400 nits brightness, and 90Hz refresh rate, but no OLED display. The battery life lasts up to 10 hours on paper but falls short in everyday use, lasting just over 7 hours. So, if you're searching for a perfect laptop for your day-to-day usage, then the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Carbon, at its price tag of Rs. 131990, is one of the best options you can consider.

The Lenovo Slim 7i Carbon is probably one of the most impressive ultralight laptops I’ve tried so far. It comes in a very solid, and durable package that is the lightest laptop I’ve ever reviewed. It offers solid performance for the size and has a decent screen that you would not disappoint anybody who looked at it. Lastly, the battery just goes on and on and you barely have to charge the device. The Lenovo Slim 7i Carbon does everything that it is made to do very well and I can recommend it to anyone looking for a stylish and solid ultrabook.

The Lenovo Slim 7i Carbon seems like an ideal choice for folks who want a reliable hybrid work computer. It’s small, lightweight and has plenty of power to let you complete most everyday work tasks. On top of that, it’s also a fletching device that fits nicely into most working (and non-working) environments. Based on my limited hands-on time with the device, it should be a solid machine for modern-day workers. I look forward to fully trying out the Lenovo Slim 7i Carbon when it releases in June.
