Reviews for the Motorola Edge 20
摩托罗拉高端中端Edge系列的第二代产品没有前代产品的弧形屏幕玻璃。相反,它的特点是设计纤细,价格较低,但也有一个较小的电池。因此,问题来了。这是一个进步还是一个倒退?

The Moto Edge line is all about experimentation, whether that’s in design, software or otherwise, with each entry looking to bring something different to the table. In the Moto Edge 20, however, we have a device with no single USP, but one that’s instead exceptionally well rounded. With a versatile camera system, a good screen, strong battery life, decent performance and pleasant software, the Moto Edge 20 is a great pick for most people, and earns our recommendation.

The Moto Edge 20 is a middle child that manages to be more interesting than either of its siblings. Offering a big, bold screen, versatile cameras, good battery life and useful software, it does a lot to set itself apart from the competition. And at a reasonable price if you don't pay the full RRP. But for the lack of stereo speakers, the lack of any premium styling and inconsistent low-light camera performance, this would be an instant recommendation. Instead, it will serve as a great companion for most, but those who need the most power or the very best cameras should look elsewhere.

The Motorola Edge 20 is one of the few large-screen, mid-range Androids that is both thin and light. However, the camera, speaker and battery capacity are weaker than the competition’s, narrowing its appeal a little too much for comfort.

The first thing that drew me towards the Motorola Edge 20 is its flat-edge design, its slim form factor. Unlike a lot of phones nowadays that can be used as paperweights, or to hammer nails, the Edge 20 is delightfully lightweight. It also fits well in hands, and its flat edges mean it is unlikely to slip out. The phone has an impressive display with great viewing angles. On the performance front too, the Moto Edge 20 does not disappoint at all. You can throw whatever tasks you want to at the phone it will come out with flying colours. Even the camera in good light is lovely to use. But at the same time, there are aspects that I feel could have been better. Battery life is on the lower side compared to what others provide in this segment. The low-light performance of cameras is another pain point. I feel the mono speaker to holds the phone back. A stereo speaker setup here would have been great. Overall, I feel that the Edge 20 is one of the best in the segment but with a few misses.

Motorola Edge 20 is in many ways one of the interesting mid-range models. I appreciated it primarily for its great screen, providing a lot of space for work or using multimedia, great accessories supplied with the Moto application and pure Android, which ensured a high comfort of work. It's impossible not to pay attention to the slim design - Edge 20 is simply a very attractive device. The smartphone powers the new Qualcomm chip, Snapdragon 778G, in addition, you can use the Ready For platform - this will allow you to work with the smartphone in desktop mode. The cameras won't let you down either. What can you complain about? First of all, the lack of a 3.5 mm mini-jack and the unimpressive battery capacity. Compared to the competition, the Edge 20 lacks stereo speakers or support for a microSD card. On the market Motorola Edge 20 will be a direct competition for models such as Samsung Galaxy A52 5G or A72, as well as Xiaomi Note 10 Pro and OnePlus Nord 2 5G.

The second-generation Edge series feels like a departure from what the original meant for Motorola. But, actually, we can't be forlorn about a lack of a curved edge screen because, well, nobody really needs one of those. Besides, the Edge 20's display - on account of its clarity, colour and refresh rate - is its standout selling point. Talk about flipping the story on its head. In many ways the Edge 20 is a refreshing mid-range choice: it's not a giant overthick slab that puts battery capacity ahead of aesthetics; it's not got bloated software that causes issues with the basics; it's not crammed with pointless cameras either. So much of the competition explores those gimmicks, but Motorola simply hasn't here. It would be easy to malign the Edge 20 for turning the series on its head. But, despite the competition being increasingly strong, consider this device for all its strengths in this section of the market and it's a genuine winner. You won't often find an untainted Android experience like this with a screen quite as super at this price point.

The Motorola Edge 20 Fusion has an SRP of PHP 16,995 making it really competitive, especially against devices like the OnePlus Nord CE 5G, if you’re into that stock Android experience. Overall, this phone got almost all the basics right except for the cameras where a few aspects can still be improved on. But besides that, this is surprisingly a bang-for-your-buck mid-tier smartphone from Motorola. You get that stunning OLED display, water-resistant body, deliverable performance, 5G connectivity, long-lasting battery life, and not to forget its Stock Android offering. Thumbs up on this one.

The sub-Rs. 30,000 smartphone market is now getting crowded with 5G smartphones from almost every mainstream manufacturer. Motorola has jumped into this segment with the Edge 20 which packs in a powerful Snapdragon 778G processor. This phone is primarily focused on aesthetics, and it is slim and light, but as a result its battery requires frequent charging. If you are looking for a slim smartphone, or one running bloatware-free Android, the Motorola Edge 20 is worth considering for the price.

The Moto Edge 20 is another affordable device from Motorola. In this price category, very few models have an OLED 144 Hz screen, so yes, for this hardware it's affordable. And in addition it has a neat design (the phone is light and thin), IP52 moisture protection, quite fast hardware, enough memory, impressive cameras, well-optimized Android and the Ready For option to use the smartphone as a wireless PC with a monitor or TV. The latter has no competitors, except for Samsung DeX, supported only by the flagships.

From September 2021, we have adjusted our ratings to give us more ‘headroom’ to recognise exceptional features and performance. Until now, 8/10 was considered a ‘pass’. It is now 6/10. If you compare the Edge 20 Pro with older smartphone reviews, reduce them by two points. The Motorola Edge 20 starts at a pass mark. Add the partial (no USB-C cable) implementation of ‘ready for’, its two Android version upgrades, a great (although not perfect) camera, solid battery life, excellent phone reception and support from Motorola Australia, and it is more than a match. It is only the IP52 rating that disappoints. If you have $699 to spend, there is no competition. It gets the tick.

The Motorola Edge 20 seems like the most balanced smartphone among the Edge 20 trio. It has the most reasonable pick of features - a 144Hz OLED, powerful but not overkill Snapdragon 778G 5G chip, a versatile triple camera going from 0.5x up to 3x, and a large enough battery with fast charging. The Edge 20 is not ideal - it doesn't have stereo speakers, the battery life is subpar, and the camera app and processing are in need of a few tweaks. But even that doesn't take away from the fact that it is the best offer within the Edge 20 trio, and among the best €500 phones you can get.

Motorola has made a pretty good-looking device that will undoubtedly give you a premium feel when using it. It is slim and lightweight, packs best in class high refresh rate display, good camera performance, and a near-stock Android experience. The design needs some improvement, like power and volume button positions can be a little lower. You also miss out on quality features like stereo speakers. It is also important to note that Motorola offers 5G bands, so you don't have to worry about whether your phone supports any particular 5G band or not. But with Motorola's track record of poor software updates to all its smartphones, you may have to consider the software part before buying this phone.

The Motorola Edge 20 is a tidy, competent mid-range smartphone with an unusually fluid 144Hz display. It isn’t quite as compelling a package as the OnePlus Nord 2, and it isn’t the outstanding value of the Poco F3, but it’s a classy alternative.

Well, the Motorola Edge 20 has a powerful Snapdragon 778G processor coupled with 8GB of RAM and a 108MP main camera. These are pretty solid specs for a phone that only costs €499. But this phone isn't only good on paper. The Edge 20 impressed me with its smooth and non-problematic performance, great main camera, amazing display, and fresh design. All of this fulfills the recipe for the successful 2021 mid-range smartphone.

From your view of the camera, each section is beautifully crafted for the Motorola Edge 20 smartphone. As it’s a high-budget phone, you’ll get some decent specs with 5G support. Without a doubt, this is one of the best smartphones by Motorola. What worries you is the battery size, where all the features players need are present, but you’ll hardly get a full day of battery if you play games. While two other phones are coming in with decent capacity, the Motorola Edge 20 lags behind with less standard battery size. Without a doubt, if you can ignore the battery, you will certainly value its other features. If you want to compare with other phones, here is our recommendation, the Red Magic 6R smartphone would be a big competitor in this budget range.
