Reviews for the Motorola Edge 30 Neo
随着Edge 30 Ultra和Edge 30 Fusion的发布,摩托罗拉也为Edge 30阵营推出了一款入门级设备,并将其称为Neo。我们的评论阐明了这款瘦身的新产品的能力。

At the beginning, we noted that the Motorola Edge 30 Neo is the most affordable representative of the flagship line of Moto smartphones in Ukraine. The company itself writes without too much modesty that this is "the best Android phone." It is difficult to completely agree with such a statement, but in most moments the smartphone showed itself from the good side. Probably, the main disadvantage of the device can be generally normal, but far from the best quality of photos and videos, in particular in conditions of insufficient lighting. However, in all other aspects, it is difficult to find critical flaws in the smartphone, especially considering the cost. If you choose a compact phone that should simply solve typical modern "smartphone" tasks, have a familiar design, a familiar brand, etc. - Motorola Edge 30 Neo can definitely be included in the list of candidates for purchase.

The Motorola Edge 30 Neo is the baby of the Edge 30 family. It's a fairly petite and light phone that does not cost a fortune and has some great everyday ease of use features like super-fast charging. However, compare it to its siblings, the Motorola Edge 30 Fusion and Motorola Edge 30 Ultra, and you have to conclude a lot of the most interesting stuff has been snipped out. The Motorola Edge 30 Neo loses the higher-end build elements, the true high-end camera hardware, and a processor powerful enough to coast through high-end games. Display quality is the Motorola Edge 30 Neo’s main strength. The P-OLED panel has exceptional outdoor visibility and, as usual, an OLED panel leads to a punchy and colorful appearance.

It is slim pickings for small phone lovers in today’s market. Though some more petite options do exist, they are often pitched towards the higher end, though not so with the Moto Edge 30 Neo. With an under-average size footprint and a snazzy design, it does a lot to endear itself, only helped by a great screen and fast charging. With poor low-light camera performance and a general lack of power, it does come with caveats, but as an overall package is easy to recommend – especially to those with hobbit hands.

While there are a couple of key areas in which the Neo really succeeds, a nice display and decent battery life aren’t quite enough to keep Moto’s head above water in this crowded section of the market. The unimpressive performance and middling camera suite paired with the prospect of limited updates really weigh the Neo down, to a point where it’s impossible to recommend it over other handsets in this price range. If you can stretch your budget a little further, the Xiaomi Poco F4 is a better all-rounder, in spite of its slightly shorter battery life. Otherwise, save yourself a few quid and go for the cheaper OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G, which outclasses the Neo in pretty much every way.

The Motorola Edge 30 Neo’s appeal rests primarily on its shape and weight: it's thin and light and has a bright screen unlike some of its competition. It's also dressed in fancy Pantone colours that look great (aside from the 'sticker' logo on the back). Thing is, in the affordable Android market there is so much competition that's made of more premium materials and with more powerful processors, that you'll only want to give the Motorola a go if the style aspect is the biggest lure of them all.

So what is the Motorola Edge 30 Neo overall? However politically incorrect it may sound, the already mentioned word comes to mind - feminine. This smartphone is practical and does not get dirty easily, it is nice (both thanks to the housing and the personalization options), it is light and handy (apart from ergonomic mishaps), it is easy to control it with one hand, and in addition it charges quickly, has a long-lasting battery and has a decent selfie camera. In a word, it meets many requirements that could be stereotypically defined as feminine. Does it also meet male requirements? Maybe. I can't say that using it was a terrible ordeal for me. I used this phone very pleasantly, I didn't encounter any serious shortcomings in the work of the interface, in the work of the system. It works very well as a communication tool. The only thing that scares me away from this model is the quality of movies and the quality of night photos, as well as the unfortunate location of the buttons and the fingerprint reader - but its operation no longer, because despite being a sub-screen reader, it worked perfectly well. Taking all this into account, the number of advantages seems to me large enough not to write off this smartphone and take it into account when we consider buying a device for 370 euros. Because that's how much Motorola Edge 30 Neo costs, and it won't be wasted money, if you consider the pros and cons mentioned in this review that it is a model worth buying. And what's my verdict? Well, I said - she's a woman. You don't argue with women, and you can sometimes turn a blind eye to possible flaws.

Moto Edge 30 Neo is a "mid-ranger" that conquers with its design - matte "back", fashionable shades. Here we have a rare smartphone in a small and light body. Among the advantages - flagship 120 Hz OLED screen, stereo speakers, long-lasting battery, 68 W charging, wireless charging (a rarity in the middle segment), clean and perfectly optimized Android with useful additions from Moto. It lacks better photo quality in low light, as well as a more powerful processor. In any case, this "baby" will make you fall in love with it.

The Motorola Edge 30 Neo is a likeable handset that gets a lot right. Nicely sized, with a great display and decent cameras it makes a good impression and makes a case for more sensibly-sized phones. If it wasn’t for the cheap design and poor low-light camera performance, it would be an easy recommendation.

The Motorola Edge 30 Neo is understandably a story of compromise, but some people will feel that it has compromised in the wrong areas. A smartphone which pitches itself as a fashion statement can get away with a little less grunt, and perhaps even stepping down from AMOLED to pOLED. But in return, you’re entitled to expect a better camera, especially when it comes to low-light performance. Considering all the options on the Edge 30 range alone, not to mention the rest of the Motorola line-up, if you care about photo quality then you’ll likely find something else in your price range which better suits your needs. If you don’t care about picture quality, a cheaper Motorola might do the job.

The Motorola Edge 30 Neo does have the same amazing features under its hood, including a smooth display experience, fast charging support, clean UI, and many more things. But, there are some flaws such as smaller battery size, average brightness nits, standard camera setup, and normal processing power. Overall, the Edge 30 Neo is a mediocre deal that fits well in the mid-range. It might not have the best gaming-centric features and specs, but if you are looking for a phone with a stable user experience without any bloatware apps, we recommend purchasing the Motorola Edge 30 Neo. However, there are numerous options present in the same price range. Instead of this, you can go for the Redmi K50i, which has better specs and features same price range.

The Neo, in particular, impresses with an extremely bright and fast OLED panel, OIS on the main camera, better 13MP ultrawide camera with autofocus, blazing fast 68W fast charging, wireless charging, a set of nice-sounding stereo speakers and a nifty LED strip around the camera used for notifications and other stuff. Of course, some compromises had to be made, so Motorola settled for a Snapdragon 695 SoC. Most of Neo's competitors run on faster chipsets and support 4K video recording. The device's camera capabilities, although not inherently bad, are not particularly impressive, leaving an easy opening for alternatives with better camera performance. So, if you are willing to make some compromises in terms of raw performance and overall camera performance, the Motorola Edge 30 Neo gives you a whole lot of reasons to like it.

The Motorola Edge 30 Neo certainly comes across as a spirited device from the lower mid-range, certainly in part thanks to its bold colour schemes introduced by Pantone. However, there’s more to it than that; its design is pleasingly and conveniently lightweight, the screen seems fairly good for the price, and it supports a muscular rate of fast charging. However, we’re going to need to take a closer look at this phone’s all-round abilities, particularly its processing power, camera, and battery life, before we can give it an in-depth review and rating.

The Motorola Edge 30 Neo is a brand new member of the Edge family, entering with the aim to introduce the same beautiful design of its Edge 30 Fusion and Edge 30 Ultra siblings, but at a much more affordable price. Motorola has focused heavily on color with the Edge 30 Neo, partnering up with Pantone, which is a company leading in consistency and accuracy. For each color option that this affordable Motorola Edge comes in, you will find a Pantone chip inlay on the back of the device, which Motorola claims is subtle, but we beg to differ.
