Reviews for the Motorola Moto G8
多年以来,摩托罗拉的Moto G系列一直是可靠的中端智能手机的代名词。 Moto G8比其前任产品更实惠,并且首次配备了变焦镜头。 听起来不错,对吗?

The Moto G8 is a solid smartphone suited to those on a tight budget. Its best asset is its long-lasting battery, and the camera was surprisingly good, although you can’t expect to take award-winning photography on it.

The Moto G8 is easily one of the best phones you can buy for under £200 – offering many strong features that most budget phones fail to nail. A disappointing display prevents the G8 from achieving greatness but there’s still a whole lot to like.

The Moto G8 isn’t going to floor you in what it can do, but considering the price you should be impressed with what Motorola has managed to fit into this tight and consistently well-performing package. With strong battery life, great performance for the money, and a few other little improvements, the Moto G8 is a great phone for many who need a budget choice.

In terms of battery life, our experiences with the Motorola Moto G8 weren’t that different to the kind of mileage I got from the Moto G8 Plus. Since they both pack the same specs when it comes to processor and battery, that’s not a huge surprise. Fortunately, that meant I could comfortably go two-days of regular usage on a single charge. The Moto G8 Plus isn’t going to hit the heights of something like the Galaxy Note 10 for power users but it is going to last a decently long time.

At the end of the day, it’s pretty clear to me that the Motorola G8 offers a lot of bang for not a lot of dollars. If you’re shopping in the sub $400 price range for an outright phone, this phone deserves to be on your list despite the fact it only costs $329 through JB Hi-Fi, Officeworks, The Good Guys and Mobileciti.

Motorola's market share has been on the up and up here in the US, and its staple G-series of phones was recently enriched with three new budget models - the G8 Power, G8 Power Lite and the G8 itself. Just like the G7 series last year, they differ by battery capacity, among other specs, and come at budget phone prices, carrying big displays with them. Needless to say, the Power models stand for long battery life, as both ship with 5000mAh packs, and we found the new Motos to deliver some record longevity in our benchmark tests indeed. If you are looking for a budget phone with an incredible battery life and a great price, the Moto G8 Power seems to be the way to go.

There’s a lot to be said for a phone that does the job. The G8 looks decent, has enough power to get you through a full day without stutters, and packs a seriously respectable camera for the price. Is the G8 perfect? No. At night, its camera crumbles, like most phones in its price range, and it also misses out on NFC. What’s more, for £10 more, you could pick up the battery-tastic Realme 6i. That said, if you want a reliable experience, a stock interface, and a great value for money smartphone, you won’t be disappointed by Motorola’s latest G.

The Moto G8 might look like rivals and be cheaper than its predecessor but there are various downgrades here that don't make much sense. Unless the long battery life and stock Android are enough to tempt you, there are better rivals out there for the same price or not much more.

The Moto G8 is certainly a device worth considering if you’re on a £200 budget. However, I reckon it would be worth saving a little more for the Motorola G8 Power. This handset has a handy extra camera, a much larger battery, and a markedly better screen, while the price is not drastically higher. The Motorola G8 is a good phone for this price point, delivering a strong processor, a large screen and a reliable camera. However, the camera isn’t as versatile as I would have liked, and the screen quality is fairly lacking.

Affordable phones used to mean all kinds of compromises, but the Moto G8 shows that you can now buy on a budget without giving up some of the finesse. Sure, don't expect the world from this device's camera setup, plus it lacks in some spec areas where its other G series models offer more - the G8 Power has more resolution and battery capacity, for example - but that's not to hold this device back. Far from it.
