Reviews for the Nokia 2.4
Only a camera and a support lens are found on the back of the Nokia 2.4. Even in view of the low price, the equipment is scarce. But maybe the smartphone offers other qualities that are convincing? In the review we find out.

At the price of Rs 10,330, the Nokia 2.4 has a lot to offer. The smartphone offers decent performance, average camera, solid build quality, impressive battery backup and a reasonably good display. All these combined make a good case for being a good entry-level smartphone.

The Nokia 2.4 feels like it should have been positioned a few steps below its current asking price. Good design, decent battery life, and lean software aside, there's very little that's actually appealing. Priced a little over Rs. 10,000, I think you'd be better off with the Motorola Moto G9 (Review) for just a bit more money.

The Nokia 2.4 is a jack of many trades. It has a good display, a decent camera and good battery life. For basic work like social networking, document editing, attending online classes and some productivity, it gets the job done. You can also play some casual games on it. It has a good build and an attractive design as well. But for the hardcore multitasker, avid gamer and performance enthusiast, there are other options to consider.

Nokia 2.4 is a decent device for the price. Yes, it is not shouting specifications unlike most other smartphones in this price but it brings certain things that go in favour. You get a big display that is good enough for watching videos. It has a good set of cameras that click natural photos, and, of course, the long-lasting battery. Some things are a little underwhelming, for example, the overall performance and display brightness. So, if these are what you think could impact your Android experience, Nokia 2.4 should not be for you. But wait.

Overall for the price of P6,990, there’s a lot of smartphones within the price range that offers more reliable specs, but Nokia 2.4 isn’t just a typical device. It is a trusted brand that offers 2yrs of Android upgrade, it has a solid and sturdy build, it has easy navigation, and clean UI. For us, if you want to have a budget smartphone that can last longer than expected, this phone’s durability will give you peace of mind and will promise to keep you safe thanks to the 3-year security patches. Just don’t drop it to from the second floor.

The Nokia 2.4 is an overpriced entry-level smartphone good only for fundamental tasks. Except its design, there is nothing good enough in the smartphone to justify its Rs 10,399 price tag. For the same price, there are smartphones like Xiaomi’s Redmi 9 Prime (review) and Realme’s Narzo 20 that offer better features, performance and cameras. Though the Nokia 2.4 is hard to recommend, it might make a good choice if you are averse to Chinese products and need a big screen phablet with uncluttered UI.

The processor of choice may be a rather old one, but HMD Global makes up for it through its stellar record on software updates. In fact, the brand confidently states on the packaging that the Nokia 2.4 is Android 11 ready, and we will not be surprised if it will be one of the first budget phones to actually have Android 11.

Despite its shortcomings, the Nokia 2.4 is a decent smartphone for those looking out for a stock Android-powered device. The icing on the cake for such customers is that Nokia also promises two years of Android upgrades, which means Android 11 will make it to this phone (whenever it's available). And then there’s that subtle, unique Nokia design. But that's right about where the excitement ends for this budget offering from Nokia, as everything else is not up to the mark and feels more entry-level than budget.

There’s no getting away from the fact that the Nokia 2.4 is a budget phone, and a lot of the time it really feels like one, with sluggish performance and an unreliable camera. But then you’ll take a surprisingly good night mode shot, watch something on the spacious 6.5in display, or hit one of the moments when the clean OS lets the phone fly, and it feels like so much more. Performance is simply too inconsistent for me to sing the 2.4’s praises, but if you’re willing to be patient it will get the job done, and you could do a lot worse for £99.
