Reviews for the Nokia 6.1 Plus

Just like the Nokia 7 Plus, the Nokia 6.1 Plus is a phone that ticks all the right boxes for any mid-range offering. While its camera features are slightly underwhelming, the Nokia 6.1 Plus makes up for it with its premium glass and metal build, along with a great display. Overall, the Nokia 6.1 Plus is a great Android One phone, especially for those who want to try out Android Pie right now.

A premium design, excellent one-handed fit and awesome software support make the Nokia 6.1 Plus really stand out in what it can offer. The only factor remaining is HMD's asking price for the phone. Ultimately, that's always what makes or breaks a midranger and, here, HMD has finally wisened up after a few misses earlier on.

As announced a few days back, the Nokia 6.1 Plus will retail for Php 15,990. That places the Nokia 6.1 Plus in a tough spot, as it has to duke it out against several other phones offer similar, if not better, specs for a lower price.

The Nokia 6.1 Plus is a great smartphone which is also priced decently at Rs. 15,999. The phone performs extremely well but falls slightly short in camera performance. The build quality is amazing and it does feel like a Nokia when you hold it in your hand. The notch makes it possible for the phone to have a good amount of screen to body ratio and a better, more immersive experience while you’re gaming or watching content on the phone.

For the money, you get a well-rounded package that looks striking, feels great to hold, and performs just as well as others in the segment. Sure, it’s not the absolute best, and the camera performance certainly lags behind the leaders in the segment, but the Nokia 6.1 Plus is an easy recommendation nevertheless.

The Nokia 6.1 Plus offers great performance, clean and fluid software, a punchy and vibrant display, and the promise of timely updates. With a sleek glass-backed design, compact dimensions, and a 19:9 display, the Nokia 6.1 Plus addresses most of the shortcomings of the Nokia 6.1, which was launched earlier on in the year. It is also priced much more aggressively.

Nokia 6.1 Plus is a fairly good device and I have no second thoughts about it. The design has a classic appeal, the stock Android approach is better than the heavily skinned OS you would get from Samsung or Huawei, the camera is okay, the phone has a 3.5mm headphone jack, and even the speaker is pretty good. While I do admit that there is no ‘wow’ factor in the Nokia 6.1 Plus, you will not be disappointed by its performance.

The Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 5.1 Plus look good and run a stock build of Android with the promise of timely updates. The Nokia 6.1 Plus has been priced at Rs. 15,999 and will go on sale on August 30 via Flipkart and Nokia's online store. The sleek and compact smartphone has been priced aggressively and looks set to give the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro (Review) and Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 (Review) a run for their money. HMD Global is yet to announce the price of the Nokia 5.1 Plus in India. The smartphone will go on sale by the end of September and will face tough competition from the likes of the Realme 1 (Review) and the lower variants of the ZenFone Max Pro M1.

The Nokia 6.1 Plus comes right after the Mi A2 Android One phone and there's definitely some competition there. Xiaomi has definitely improved its camera game over the years and that's probably the only place where the Nokia 6.1 Plus looks a little lacking. But overall, the new Nokia mid-range smartphone is more of a complete package and is better suited to take on the competition compared to the Nokia 6.1. It's got almost everything you could ask for in an affordable mid-range smartphone and I think it's pricing is just the icing on the cake.

Overall, the Nokia 6.1 Plus is a very compelling device and one that deserves consideration. It won't singlehandedly put Nokia back on the map, but if they keep making such phones, then they'll get back up there soon.

Nokia 6.1 Plus no doubt seems like a near-complete smartphone when you look at it with the Rs 15,999 price tag. It is not just amidst one of the most competitive smartphone markets in the country but is also HMD Global’s one of the first attempts towards a smartphone with lesser bezels and more screen to body ratio. So as a first attempt the handset is not bad at all.

Nokia 6.1 Plus comes loaded with a premium design and the display looks quite crisp. The performance is smooth and the key takeaway here is the stock Android experience, meaning that you will timely update as compared to other smartphones available at this price range. The camera quality is not that great and the battery performance is quite average in our opinion. That said, the almost same set of specifications is available in Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 and you also get a bigger battery, although you still have to compromise a bit on the camera.

Nokia 6.1 Plus smartphone comes with good features & performance for its price. It excels in all the departments but the rear camera and battery backup are slightly average. If you are willing to live with that, then Nokia 6.1 Plus should be a perfect choice.

The Nokia 6.1 Plus is a damn fine smartphone. The design & alone makes it a winner and it is hard to imagine this as a device priced at Rs. 15,999 . The stock build of Android and Nokia’s proven commitment to fast upgrades too help make a case for the phone. The specs aren’t anything special, but they’re sufficient to keep pace with the competition. A larger battery and slightly better camera is all that the phone needs to really become the hands down recommendation in its class of hardware.

The Nokia 6.1 Plus is a capable mid-ranger that ticks all the boxes when it comes to the trending features in smartphones of 2018. It’s closest rival is the Redmi Note 5 Pro which also runs on the same hardware. The choice comes down to whether you prefer a stock Android interface or custom MIUI. However, an underwhelming camera makes it difficult to recommend this phone over other more capable devices in that price range. The 6.1 Plus is a performance enthusiast’s phone of choice, one who wants a no-nonsense offering that gets the job done. If you have a knack for photography though, the Redmi Note 5 Pro and the Xiaomi Mi A2 are what you should be looking at.

But for us, the Nokia 6.1 Plus, is primarily about the “hand-feel”, how good it feels to hold in hand in this day of humongous displays enabling you to use the phone one-handed, and not to forget, Nokia’s brand value along with better after sales support. And yes, the convenience of not having to go through the hassles of flash sales. Nokia 6.1 Plus is an amazing device with a perfect camera results and perfect specs and features. Its price is very affordable and the design looks more beautiful because of its notch display design. The device is very easy to carry and it will not disappoint you in any case. It doesn’t have any major disadvantage, only the back body is a little slippery.
