Reviews for the Nokia 6.2
The Nokia 6.2 is a cheap mid-range smartphone from the Android One program with no major weaknesses relative to the affordable starting price. However, there is one Android competitor that makes life hard for the Nokia phone and only really leaves it as an interesting alternative for Android purists.

It may lack the style and Zeiss Optics-enabled cameras of the more expensive Nokia 7.2, but if you’re looking for a good-looking budget smartphone with a high-quality display and can overlook the lacklustre camera setup, the Nokia 6.2 is worth considering.

The Nokia 6.2 is a cute budget smartphone that offers a very good display and capable rear camera. Where it falters a bit is the selfie camera and the general system performance, as the Snapdragon 636 barely keeps up with a moderate usage pace. Still, at a price of $250 at the time of writing, the Nokia 6.2 is a respectable smartphone for those who value a massive screen and stylish design.

Well, with everything that's going on with the Nokia 6.2, or not, we just can't recommend this Android One-powered smartphone no matter what. Maybe, just maybe, if its price drops down to €150 or lower, or your carrier is giving it for free, then you should consider it. But we strongly believe that even then we can find you a better phone.

If you have only a couple hundred dollars to spend on a smartphone, HMD Global’s latest Nokia mid-rangers should be at the top of your list. The Nokia 7.2 and Nokia 6.2 may share the same design and materials, but each has its own internals that set up widely different price points.

HMD Global on Thursday made its first appearance at IFA, one of Europe's most important technology trade exhibitions, to talk about how it is growing internationally and expanding on its strengths. The company unveiled two new smartphones and three featurephones, showcasing its strategy of appealing to multiple markets. The new Nokia 7.2 and Nokia 6.2 are both mid-budget Android smartphones but both promise premium features and looks. They should be launched internationally, including in India, within a few months. Gadgets 360 was live at the scene of the launch in Berlin, and here are our first impressions of both new devices.

The Nokia 6.2 sits in a competitive place. Starting at around €199, you get a great display and compelling array of cameras with just enough power to keep things ticking along nicely. Of course we've only spent limited time with this phone so far, but we have high hopes for it. The biggest question, however, is whether the Nokia 7.2 is going to cast a long shadow over this cheaper handset.

With its three cameras on the back, nice-looking display and Android One software, the Nokia 6.2 looks like it could be a rival to the Moto G series and the likes of Redmi, Realme and Honor. The Nokia 6.2 looks to be a strong contender at the affordable end of the Android smartphone market. Whether it can really challenge Honor, Huawei and Motorola remains to be seen, but the early signs are positive.

These phones hit the market in mere weeks. The Nokia 7.2 should arrive before the end of September for 349 euros. It will be sold in most markets worldwide, include the U.S. (via open channels). HMD says it is working to strengthen its relationships with U.S. carriers and until it does the open market is the way it will go. The Nokia 6.2 will go on sale in mid-October at the more affordable price point of 209 euros. The 6.2 will not be sold in the U.S. and is something HMD expects to sell across Asia, Africa, and EMEA. The pricing and availability details are not final and may change.

The Nokia 6.2 is a solid, if uninspired, budget phone that gets the job done. With a modern design, snappy performance, and excellent rear camera, it's worth the money. But the occasional performance hiccup and poor front-facing camera hamper the excitement somewhat. Still, you can't do much better for $250.
