This $500 OnePlus phone has made it very difficult for me to recommend pricier handsets
Source: Zdnet.com English EN→zh-CN
At $600 for the OnePlus 13R, you get the best display in its class with quality-of-life features, excellent performance, an all-day battery life, and a smooth software experience. Its closest market competitor, the Google Pixel 8a, sits comfortably below the $500 mark ($399 at the time of writing) and is a decent phone for most people. But it's a much smaller device and is inferior in almost every way in terms of hardware. If you compare the OnePlus 13R to flagship smartphones, the sheer value of the device really shines. Wireless charging might be a big miss for some people, but the longer endurance on a single charge might make up for it.

87% OnePlus 13R review: Missed opportunity
Source: Gadgetbyte Nepal English EN→zh-CN
Ok, so let’s conclude the OnePlus 13R review, and let’s imagine for a minute, that we are in a parallel universe, and I am the head of product for OnePlus. My ideal OnePlus 13R would look something like this. I wouldn’t have changed the design from last year. The display improvement is excellent, OnePlus has done great work with performance & software experience and the battery life is also top-notch. And I am somewhat fine with the IP64 rating, and speaker quality too. First, I would have included the OnePlus 13’s vibration motor for a more refined typing experience. Second, I would have optimized the main camera by either including Hasselblad optimization like we get the OP13 or including a better bigger sensor.

The OnePlus 13 and 13R are great, but which phone is the better choice?
Source: Tech Advisor English EN→zh-CN
Ultimately, the choice comes down to your priorities, because frankly there is no wrong choice here. For those wanting a capable and stylish phone at a lower price, the OnePlus 13R offers the better value between the two. However, if you seek cutting-edge performance and premium features, the OnePlus 13 is the clear winner if you can afford the higher price.

80% OnePlus 13R review: strong gaming, balanced photography
Source: 91mobiles English EN→zh-CN
The OnePlus 13R is a great value flagship phone that excels on multiple fronts. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, it delivers flagship performance that will satisfy power users and gamers alike. The phone’s flat design might get mixed reactions but is likely to appeal particularly to gamers. To support heavy usage, the OnePlus 13R features a large 6,000mAh battery that easily lasts a full day and then some. While fast charging has been downgraded, you can still fully charge the device in under an hour. Unlike the OnePlus 12R, which offers an average camera experience, the OnePlus 13R shows genuine improvements and includes a highly usable telephoto camera, ensuring decent portraits and a well-rounded smartphone experience. While its cameras may not rival the likes of the Xiaomi 14 Civi or Vivo V40 Pro, the OnePlus 13R strikes a good balance, offering something for both photographers and gamers.

OnePlus 13R Quick Review: The Best $599 Android Phone
Source: Droid Life English EN→zh-CN
Phone is affordable. Phone is fast. Phone is good. But seriously, I think OnePlus set out on a mission to deliver a great phone at an affordable price and completely knocked it out of the park. I wasn’t expecting to care for this phone much, but it completely won me over. It makes me wish that Wear OS was in a better state so I had a good wearable to pair with it. If you don’t mind dropping the $599 on a phone (financing is available), I recommend it. Maybe you’re bored of using the same ol’ Pixel and Galaxy stuff? Give OxygenOS a try. It’s been a breath of fresh air, to be honest.

OnePlus 13R review: Sets a benchmark for affordable flagship smartphones

At Rs 42,999 onwards, the OnePlus 13R offers excellent value for those seeking a flagship-like experience while being willing to compromise on features such as wireless charging and a complete flagship-grade camera setup. As a budget-friendly alternative to the OnePlus 13, it delivers an impressive display, strong performance, outstanding battery life, and a premium software experience.

OnePlus 13R Review: Value Priced, Flagship Performance And Specs
Source: Hot Hardware English EN→zh-CN
In past years, the OnePlus R-series could feel like an afterthought, but the 13R has a lot going for it. The build quality of this device is top notch, its display is gorgeous, and it even has some fun extras like the IR blaster you don't even get on ultra-premium flagships like Samsung's Galaxy S24 Ultra. We also appreciate that it doesn't just look like a cheaper OnePlus 13. It's a very nimble phone thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. This chip may be a year old, but it can best plenty of new phones in benchmarks, and the class-leading thermal performance ensures the phone stays fast all day, even during extended gaming sessions. If you're heavily invested in generative AI on mobile, you might be a little disappointed with the OnePlus 13R.

80% Oneplus 13R Review: A High Benchmark For Bargain Phones
Source: Slashgear English EN→zh-CN
The OnePlus 13R starts at $599 in the U.S. through Amazon, and for that asking price, it's hard to beat. The hardware is top-notch, and it's sufficiently fast to survive the generative AI software onslaught for at least the next couple of years. You are guaranteed top-tier performance, a fairly powerful telephoto camera (which is a rarity in this price bracket for the US market), a massive battery, and a charging pace that is twice as fast as Samsung or Apple's $1,200 phones. The 120Hz OLED display easily outclasses the mainline (and still pricier) Samsung and Apple smartphones, and the cameras, despite their quirks, offer their own unique flavor of vibrant photo capture.

The OnePlus 13R is an impressive $599 phone, but is it a true value?
Source: CNN underscored English EN→zh-CN
Overall, this phone feels like a miss compared to other options that are available. The price increase in particular doesn’t feel warranted considering the lackluster performance in the camera department. If you just want a powerful phone with fast charging, then this is a great phone to pick up, but if you want a complete package, you’ll be better served with the Pixel 8a. The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE is also not a bad option, but it’s a little more expensive, which may be off putting. If this phone existed in a vacuum, maybe an argument could be made that saving $300 over the OnePlus 13 might be a good value, but the OnePlus 13 is so much better than this phone, that it’s worth the extra scratch. It’s too bad OnePlus isn’t working with US carriers anymore. This phone would be a great “free with two-year contract” option or something in that vein. As it is, you have to buy it outright, and that makes it a harder sell.

80% OnePlus 13R review: A flagship phone in every way but price
Source: Tom's Guide English EN→zh-CN
The OnePlus 13R sticks to the gameplan of delivering many, though not all, of the OnePlus flagship's top features, but in a pirce that's much lower. About the biggest thing you could ding this year's model for is not having a price that's as low as last year's offering. But look at the changes OnePlus made with the 13R. The OnePlus 12R lacked a telephoto lens so OnePlus added one to the new phone. That, along with some additional improvements to photo processing, creates a camera phone that's better able to compete with the Pixel 8a. The OnePlus 13R also retains the top-level performance and long-lasting battery that made the OnePlus 12R such a great value.

OnePlus 13R Review: R for Rebel
Source: Think Digit English EN→zh-CN
The OnePlus 13R is a significant evolution in the R-series. It’s no longer just a ‘budget flagship’ – it’s a proper flagship in the mid-premium segment that happens to be priced competitively. The improvements in display technology, battery life, and camera performance make it a compelling upgrade even for 12R users. The OnePlus 13R is priced starting at ₹42,999 with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage and we also get a 16GB RAM variant with 512GB storage which is exclusive to India. In comparison with the 12R which started at ₹39,999, OnePlus hasn’t technically increased the price of its R-series this year which is great to see. Would I recommend it? Yes absolutely, especially if you’re coming from a phone that’s two or more years old.

Source: The Indian Express English EN→zh-CN
The OnePlus 13R strikes a balance between performance, design, and affordability. While the camera system is passable, the device offers impressive battery life and performance. Besides, the company is also offering some attractive deals, making the phone even more accessible. Simply put, the OnePlus 13R works well for those who seek flagship-level features without paying an exorbitant price. In essence, the OnePlus 13R is a well-rounded phone with minor compromises here and there, something that most users would hardly notice. It’s lightweight, has a premium finish, and is an overall compelling choice for everyday usability.

The OnePlus 13R has just about everything you could want in a midrange phone, with only a few small sacrifices. Its year-old processor is still powerful enough to run even the most intensive games, and it has a bright and responsive display for your content. We also appreciate its epic battery life, premium build, and capable cameras. We wish the phone was a little more durable, had a longer software support window, and more effective AI image editing, but these aren't deal breakers.

Source: Digital Camera World English EN→zh-CN
The OnePlus 13R is a great choice if you're looking for a phone that gives every impression of being high-end but that doesn't break the bank. Of course, with a mid-range price, there are bound to be a few trade-offs, but the 13R does a good job of giving you a complete experience without emptying your wallet. The 13R has a surprisingly premium build, and it just feels solid and comfortable when you hold it. Going almost edge to edge, the large flat display is stunning to look at as well, incredibly sharp with great color, I just found it a joy to use. The phone is lightning-fast, and OxygenOS is one of my favorite non-Pixel takes on Android. Battery life is another win, and gave me a full day of juice before I needed to plug it in.The downside – the 13R’s cameras are just pretty meh.

OnePlus 13 vs OnePlus 13R: Value, value, value
Source: Phone Arena English EN→zh-CN
When it comes to OnePlus R devices, the main appeal lies in their exceptional bang for the buck, and the OnePlus 13R more than delivers. At $300 less than the regular OnePlus 13, the R version manages to retain the core experience remarkably well. It features an almost identical display, the same battery, and while its chipset is a year older, it’s still a highly capable performer. Naturally, some compromises were necessary to achieve the lower price point. In addition to lacking the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, the OnePlus 13R also omits wireless charging, and its camera system—particularly the ultrawide sensor—is less advanced than the flagship model. However, if you can live with these trade-offs, the OnePlus 13R is an outstanding value proposition.

80% OnePlus 13R review: still the best phone for $500
Source: The Shortcut English EN→zh-CN
Last year, we called the OnePlus 12R “crazy good” for its combination of powerful hardware, a gorgeous display, and insane battery life. OnePlus clearly knowns not to fix things that aren’t broken as the OnePlus 13R is arguably the best phone I’ve ever used. For $500 (with guaranteed $100 trade-in), you get 90% of the same experience on the OnePlus 13, without any deal-breaking compromises. It's not perfect of course, nothing is, but it’s really hard to ignore just how good the 13R is. OnePlus has almost shot themselves in the foot because I might even recommend the OnePlus 13R over the OnePlus 13. Let’s find out why.

I enjoy what OnePlus has done with the 13R and celebrate the company’s ability to put out a few solid devices in a row. Its excellent hardware, combined with mainly solving my misgivings with OxygenOS, has made me more optimistic about the company. I’ve always been a fan of OnePlus, so it’s been a tough few years. The OnePlus 13R offers everything you could ask for in a $600 phone, and it is the type of value that made OnePlus popular in the first place. The OnePlus 13R does a lot to earn its $600 price tag.

90% OnePlus 13R review: The definitive value flagship of 2025
Source: Android Central English EN→zh-CN
The OnePlus 13R builds on the strengths of its predecessor, delivering key upgrades around battery and cameras. The 6000mAh battery easily lasts two days between charges, and the camera takes better photos than last year. The switch to Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 unlocks much better performance, and you get 256GB UFS 4.0 storage on the base model. The software is much more optimized this time around, and you don't get the same fluidity on any other phone in this category. Ultimately, the OnePlus 13R should be your go-to choice if you're looking to pick up a value-focused flagship in 2025.

90% OnePlus 13R review: the best $600 you can spend on a phone this year
Source: Digital Trends English EN→zh-CN
The OnePlus 12R revitalized the value flagship scene last year, and the OnePlus 13R does an incredible job of carrying its torch forward for another year. Yes, it’s more expensive, but the new $600 price is easily justified by the (very meaningful) upgrades. The flat display is excellent, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is a serious performance boost, the cameras are considerably better, and the battery lasts even longer. Pair that with a good software update policy and well-made hardware, and the OnePlus 13R leaves you with very little to complain about. The slower charge speeds are annoying, as is the continued lack of wireless charging, but they’re minor inconveniences rather than serious drawbacks. My conclusion for the OnePlus 13R is similar to mine for the OnePlus 12R.

Is the OnePlus 13R a great package? Yes. Is it complete value for money? Yes. Has it improved over last year's 12R? Yes. The new OnePlus 13R is definitely worth the upgrade. It gets better cameras, a larger battery with longer life, better build quality, longer software support, and other minor improvements. As for alternatives, I can only think of a few. There's the newly launched Oppo Reno 13 Pro (Review), which costs higher but lacks in key areas such as performance and battery life. There's also the Xiaomi 14 (Review), which gets the same chipset, offers better cameras, a compact design, and also costs about a little higher. You can also go for the iQOO 12 (Review), which, although older, still offers great performance and a decent camera setup.

All in all, the OnePlus 13R is a capable all-rounder with excellent performance, long battery life, dependable camera hardware, fast enough charging and exceptionally loud speakers. The 13R easily covers all bases without necessarily breaking the bank too. Having said that, the ultrawide and selfie cameras keep us from giving the 13R an excellent score in this department and alternatives seem to be better at taking stills and videos. Also, even if the maximum brightness is sufficient, most other displays in this price bracket are brighter.

If you are looking for a phone under Rs 50,000, I can say that without a doubt go for it. And one more reason why I say this is not just because of how good the OnePlus 13R is. The company is also making certain aftersales commitments that give the OnePlus 13R an edge over its competitors. OnePlus says that the 13R will be covered under its lifetime display warranty against “green-line issue.” It’s a very specific and niche commitment but it is better than nothing. Then there is the 180-days — 6 months — full replacement warranty on the phone.

Source: BGR English EN→zh-CN
Once again, OnePlus is offering an excellent phone at an excellent price. The OnePlus 13 provides a flagship experience with features that you won’t get anywhere else, but it also comes at what many would consider a flagship phone price. The OnePlus 13R, on the other hand, gets pretty close to that same experience at a much lower price. Sure, you won’t get the IP69 water resistance, the same camera quality, or quite the same performance, but the compromises that the OnePlus 13R does make are compromises that most users will be fine with. Generally, the OnePlus 13R is a little worse than the OnePlus 13 in pretty much every way, but it still excels, especially compared to similarly priced competition.

The OnePlus 13R represents a meaningful upgrade in the OnePlus portfolio, staying true to the brand’s spirit while introducing bold changes for 2025. With a higher IP certification, a more versatile camera system, a powerful SoC, and refined software, it keeps the fan-edition legacy alive and thriving. That said, OnePlus has dropped the 128 GB storage variant, which might raise eyebrows for some. The OnePlus 13R is a well-rounded smartphone that punches above its weight class. It outperforms competitors like the Pixel 8a in areas like raw performance, display quality, and battery life, while also offering meaningful upgrades over the OnePlus 12R. However, it’s not without its flaws. The lack of wireless charging and expandable storage might be deal-breakers for some, and the camera, while improved, still falls short of Google’s computational photography wizardry. 75% OnePlus 13R Review: Powerful Value With a Glaring Omission
Source: Android Authority English EN→zh-CN
The OnePlus 13R could be a great pick for someone who wants a phone for gaming, watching movies and scrolling social media. The large screen, loud speakers and powerful processor are capable of handling all kinds of entertainment without requiring you to spend $300 more on the more flagship OnePlus 13. Combine that with its fast 55-watt wired charging and long battery life and you'll find that this phone can be a long-lasting daily driver. But the lack of wireless charging will be quite noticeable in the years to come. The Qi2 standard is technically in its infancy, but its compatibility with Apple's MagSafe charging accessories means that there is already a wealth of fun docks, pads and stations that won't work with the OnePlus 13R. Yet if wireless charging is not important to you but you want a long battery and a great media experience, then the OnePlus 13R's tradeoffs are probably worth it.

The OnePlus 13R doesn’t hide its flaws, making it easy to understand just where your money goes. Like its predecessor, display and battery prowess are among the phone’s best qualities, but it also happens to be one of the better Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered phones on the market right now – especially at its price point. While I favour the design, the user experience is superb. It’s a shame both the protective glass and fast charging got downgraded from the OnePlus 12R, but in all other areas, this phone punches up. If you want better water resistance and wireless charging, all of the alternatives mentioned in the pricing section will fit the bill, but there’s nothing that quite strikes the same balance as the OnePlus 13R, making it the perfect fit for those who still haven’t quite found what they’re looking for.
