强力选手。好事成“三”。可能这就是这家生产商在设计第三代旗舰杀手OnePlus 3时的想法。不过世上也没有十全十美的事情。

Although let down by a few niggles, this is still a superlative smartphone that shows some of the big household names how it’s done.

The Chinese startup has improved on a number of issues fans had with its predecessor, wrapping the OnePlus 3 in a new premium suit and managed to keep the price low enough to worry the established names in the market.

The OnePlus 3 is another amazing smartphone from the Chinese company as easily its best effort yet. It's a little bit more expensive than its predecessor but it's still a ridiculous price considering the design, build and hardware on offer which matches rivals but also beats them in some areas. There's very little to dislike here unless you really need things like expandable storage and waterproofing. You don't even need an invite any longer, either.

There is no such thing as a perfect phone, regardless of how much we argue amongst ourselves. But there are definitely phones that are better than others. The OnePlus 3 is one of those. The compromises and cut corners are not as noticeable as in years past or when compared to other devices in this price bracket. Without a doubt, OnePlus struck a fantastic balance this year.

In fact, the biggest barrier to mass adoption of the OnePlus 3 is that you can’t buy one on contract. Nor can you currently order one direct from the company online for delivery to Australia, however there are many importers in Australia selling the OnePlus3, just Google it, hit the shopping tab and you’ll find there’s plenty of choice and the prices are very good. It’s for this reason that we’re giving you this review, and we feel that supply is plentiful enough locally to warrant placement of this handset into the A-List, where it’s our new top smartphone. The OnePlus 3 represents a killer combination of price, performance and design, and no other phone comes close.

The tech is as aggressively packed-in as ever, but this is also the best-looking, most expensive-feeling OnePlus phone to date. If an extra £300 is nothing to you, there are slightly better screens and cameras available. But last time we checked, most of our readers like a good deal. This is an unbeatable one - even now that Brexit-related price hikes have bumped that cost up a bit.

This is definitely the flagship killer that many are looking for. The performance, the speed and the capacity of the phone is what makes a flagship killer, well, a flagship killer. The camera performance did suffer a little bit in low-light situations, but we are more than happy to have this in our pockets day in and day out.

The OnePlus 3 has improved on its predecessor in just about every way. The specs have been improved, the design has been refined and the price is still just as attractive. If I had to nitpick, I could point out that although there’s 64GB of storage space there’s no microSD option to expand it.

It is hard to find something not to like about the OnePlus 3. It is an impressive smartphone that you can get used to and enjoy right away. The OnePlus 3 offers everything that you can want for $399, and possibly more, and it is, without a doubt, one of the best smartphones that you can get this year.

As a whole, the OnePlus 3 is certainly the most well-rounded smartphone OnePlus has made. It brings a lot of new experiences to the table, like a metal body and Dash Charging, but it also retains a lot of what makes the OnePlus line special. I am, of course, talking about the stock-but-customisable experience of Oxygen OS, the clean good looks and the best implementation of Android navigation buttons in any Android smartphone.

What makes the OnePlus 3 stand out from other affordable, high-powered phones of the same tier is its physical design. Frankly, there are other ‘flagship killers’ like the Huawei Mate 8, Xiaomi Mi 5, and ZTE Axon 7, but we like the OnePlus 3 since it looks the part, and it finally measures up to its bold flagship-killing claims of the past (strangely, they didn’t go with that spiel this time round despite having a very capable device). It looks, feels, and works like a winner.

With the OnePlus 3 the Chinese phone-maker has a hit on its hands, of that there is no doubt. Casting the OnePlus X aside for a minute, we can see the OnePlus 3 as the final part of a trilogy, it's quite the emotional coming of age tale. Where it goes from here is anyone's guess, but happily this invitation-free handset proves third time's the charm.

OnePlus still had to cut corners somewhere, which is why you’ll only get a 1080p display that’s likely not suitable for serious VR, there’s no microSD card slot, and the device isn’t waterproof and doesn’t support wireless charging. Are those things worth an extra $300 to $400? For most people, the answer is probably no. Corners were cut, but they were corners that most of us can probably live without, and that makes the OnePlus 3 very hard to beat for the price. Third time’s the charm, right?

But for the most part, the OnePlus 3 will satisfy the wide majority of users and use cases. When the OnePlus 3 costs just $400 unlocked and off-contract, it’s hard to recommend any other flagship smartphone. This device has essentially everything you’d want from a high-end product at a price that undercuts the competition, and that is a truly winning combination.

OnePlus has always made my job easy, offering decent handsets and an excellent price. The OnePlus 3 is no different: it’s easily the most attractive design the company has brought to market yet, and the cost is roughly the same as ever too. The camera can't quite live up to those in the LG G5 or the Samsung Galaxy S7, but it isn't a million miles off either. Software, performance and design are all excellent for the money, and lack any obvious creaky parts that would have made you wish you had a little more money to spend.

The camera on Mi 5 supports HDR, Panorama, Timer, Audio, Manual, Straighten, Beautify, HHT, Tilt-shift, Fish eye, Slow motion, Burst shot while OnePlus 3 stock camera offers HDR, HD, Manual, RAW, Panorama, Beauty, Time-lapse, Slow motion, Burst shot.

Even forgetting the price, the OnePlus 3 is a terrific flagship smartphone for 2016 which can proudly hold it own against the likes of HTC, Samsung, LG and Apple. It becomes an absolute steal when you consider this device only costs £329, almost half the cost of some previously mentioned. OnePlus has nailed that ‘premium’ feel with the new aluminium unibody, and the performance is right up there with the big dogs.

Perhaps the OnePlus 3's biggest feature, though, is its price: US$399 unlocked. That figure shifts the needle from the phone being a strong contender to being one of the best choices for Android fans – or smartphone buyers in general – on the market. Sure, the Galaxy S7 and HTC 10 are better, but are they around $300 better?

The OnePlus 2 turned out to be a huge disappointment for me and with the slow software turnaround times from the company, my interest in the OnePlus 3 was almost negligible. However, the company has managed to surprise everyone with the OnePlus 3. The handset, as well as the company, have matured for the better. The OnePlus 3 is the true flagship killer that OnePlus promised us when they first entered the smartphone market in 2014.

At $399, the OnePlus 3 is a really great bargain and value. It’s also a really nice phone just in general. OnePlus hasn’t cut any major corners here and has delivered a phone that almost everyone will really enjoy. On the hardware front, the OnePlus 3 has all the right elements in place. It has a fast phase-detect autofocus system that locks onto subjects in a jiffy, without hunting back and forth. It has a nice, bright aperture of f/2, and there’s also optical image stabilisation (OIS) to help keep images captured in low light nice and crisp.

OnePlus doesn't sponsor sports leagues or run ads in the subway or on the Super Bowl or put kiosks in big-box stores. That may be a big reason that the OnePlus 3 sells for half the price of its competition. It sure isn't because there's anything wrong with the phone. Go ahead: Dare to spend less.

Ignoring marketing slogans for a second, this is a superb phone at $399. It represents an excellent bang for buck. It’s been an exciting year for mid-rangers, watching companies push more top tier hardware into lower price tiers. We have a proper competitor to the iPhone SE here, and it trades blows well with many phones from last year which have fallen in price.

OnePlus has shied away from calling the OnePlus 3 a "flagship killer" this year. But we don't think it should have. This phone lays down a marker for what you can get for around £300. There is some competition from the Oppo F1 Plus and Vodafone Smart Platinum 7, but given the option we'd hands-down plump for the OnePlus every time.

OnePlus has been releasing devices like clockwork during the two or so years since it was established. Their first made a splash that the successor had a hard time matching. Fair enough, it just didn't have the element of surprise on its side. Their third though is surprisingly good. No pun intended and no hidden meaning implied. A lot of the newbie enthusiasm and "flagship killer" mentality might be gone, but on a positive note, so have the many hurdles of guerrilla marketing and an overstressed production and distribution cycle.

For a $400 smartphone, the OnePlus 3 delivers a solid camera experience. To compare, I would say that it doesn’t quite match that of the Galaxy S7, Nexus 6P, or Galaxy Note 5, but the OnePlus 3 certainly holds its own against the LG G5 and HTC 10. Considering the phone just launched, it’s possible that with future software updates, we may even see a few improvements to the camera. As for what could use improving, the time to focus might need a bit of adjusting, as well as maybe some added dialog for the Manual mode, just for the folks who may not be familiar with what all of the settings control. Beyond that, OnePlus did a spectacular job.

The OnePlus 3 may not stand out from the crowd at first glance, but as I hold it and use it I see elements of other flagships smartphones that are $200 to nearly $500 more expensive. Actually, there are several things I've found in the hardware and software that make the $399 OnePlus 3 a very compelling option to consider and I may not be able to go back to paying the high prices for other phones.

Only if you can overlook the average battery life. Because in every other department, the OnePlus 3 shows really good performance. Yes, it is Rs 3,000 more than the other Snapdragon 820 sporting phone in this range – the Xiaomi Mi 5. But the edge it has over the Mi 5 is the fact that you get most functions of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow and even the camera department of the OnePlus 3 edges past that of the Xiaomi Mi 5. But the Mi 5 definitely offers a better battery life. We still have to test the LeEco Le Max 2 which also comes with a Snapdragon 820 + 6GB RAM combination. As compared to the flagships from LG, Samsung, Sony and HTC, the OnePlus certainly offers a better value proposition for those looking at a relatively more affordable flagship device.

The conflict becomes even more confusing with the OnePlus 3 wading into the battle of the 2016 Android handsets. The Samsung Galaxy S7 (along with the S7 Edge) sat atop the Android tree for a long time, but it's becoming increasingly crowded down below. You can't deny the hard work that HTC, Huawei and OnePlus have put in and, while we feel that the LG G5 lags a little behind, it really is anyone's game as we march into the second half of the year.

I've already said it, but I'll say it again: the OnePlus 3 is excellent. The Chinese firm needed to pull something out of the bag in 2016. The OnePlus 2 was another solid phone, but it didn't break enough new ground, and its simply insane claim to be a '2016 Flagship Killer' was massively misguided. I'd happily slap that title on the OnePlus 3 though. It goes toe-to-toe with the high-end flagships of 2016. Sure it doesn't have a QHD display, expandable storage or a world-class camera, and battery life doesn't set it apart, but considering the money you'll be parting with I'm okay with all of that.

For $400 you're getting a device that has everything you'll likely be looking for in a top-tier smartphone, including an excellent camera, a display that's just as bright and sharp as the best on the market, a modern processor (made by Qualcomm), and a built-in community of software modders and OnePlus superfans. The OnePlus 3 won’t disappoint you. And if horsepower and customizability are you top priorities, you should get one, regardless of your budget. But if you care more about fit and finish, you probably can find something that better suits your needs. As fun as 6GB of RAM sounds, I’d rather not worry about how warm my phone gets. The OnePlus 3 is a sleek, powerful Android phone. That's unquestionable. But $400 is an odd price for a phone right now since it's outside the budget realm. Our Editors' Choice budget unlocked phone, the Blu Life One X$149.99 at Amazon, costs less than half the OnePlus 3. At the high-end, people are generally demanding super-high-resolution screens and removable memory. The HTC 10, our other unlocked Editors' Choice, is $700 and delivers on those promises, as well as bringing nicer audio, faster Wi-Fi, and a better modem, with all the AT&T bands—as you'd expect from a more expensive phone.

The OnePlus 3 additionally features Dash Charge, which can bring you from zero percent battery to just over 60 percent in half an hour. The 3,000 mAh battery benefits from the Dash Charge cable's ability to manage heat instead of transferring that responsibility to the phone itself, which allows for high-intensity charging even while you are using the device. It's a 5-volt charge all the time, too, which combines with several built-in safeguards to prevent the cable from damaging the OnePlus 3 while it's plugged-in.

That misstep has been rectified in the OnePlus 3, where the philosophies of the previous two devices have come together to make an incredibly solid device for a good price. In order to do that however, and appeal to the masses, OnePlus had to make a couple compromises – the camera is still not where a flagship should be, and the design takes a step back from uniqueness. To make a success out of their third phone, it almost feels like OnePlus had to bend to convention.
