Reviews for the Oppo F21 Pro 5G

The conclusion of the Oppo F21 Pro 4G and F21 Pro 5G are great phones in the mid-range. But at the same time, they are not offering something new that will attract the interested buyer. Undeniably, both devices offer impressive features and specs. Both the phones feel overpriced, while there are a lot of better options available in the market. The best alternative for both devices would be the Vivo iQOO Neo 6 smartphone as it brings better specs, decent refresh rate, and long-lasting battery life. But if you are looking for a better 4G option, we highly prefer you to take a look at the Vivo V23e 4G for the all-rounder attributes.

The Oppo Reno7 Lite 5G/Oppo Reno7 Z 5G/Oppo F21 Pro 5G, depending on how it's called on your market, is a thin, light and attractive device. It packs a modern set of features and offers a well-rounded overall experience. The AMOLED display, while not chart-topping and just 60Hz, is solid in everyday use. The battery offers great endurance for its capacity and snappy charging. The Snapdragon 695 chipset, while deficient in terms of video capture, is still a great middle-of-the-line part in terms of performance. Even though it lacks an ultrawide or dedicated telephoto, the camera setup performs well with its hardware. That's basically a reoccurring theme with the Reno7 Lite 5G - it is a solid and satisfactory, well-rounded mid-ranger that is equally good at not disappointing as it is at failing to excite in any meaningful way. Well, other than its appealing exterior, that is. The problem is that it is not cheap. In fact, we might even go as far as to call it relatively overpriced for its features. If you do end up getting a Reno7 Lite 5G on a good deal, you likely won't be disappointed with it...

The Oppo F21 Pro 5G smartphone comes with 5G support and was released in April 2022, and the expected price of this phone is $352 (Rs 26,999 in India) approx. As for the primary specs, let’s start with a display panel that renders a 6.43-inches AMOLED panel, 600 nits HBM brightness, IPX4 dust and water resistance, and Schott Xensation glass protection. The display presents a 16MP selfie camera for clicking some good photos, while on the other hand, the backside provides a triple rear camera setup including a 64MP main camera with a duo of 2MP depth and macro lenses. The smartphone offers a single 8GB RAM with a 128GB internal storage variant, while you get microSDXC card support to extend storage limits. The Oppo F21 Pro 5G runs on the latest Android 12 OS supported by ColorOS 12.1 UI customization. For the chipset, a 6nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G SoC powers the device and can reach up to 2.2 GHz clocking speed. A huge battery of Li-Po 4500 mAh with 33W fast charging is available in Oppo F21 Pro 5G along with reverse charging support.

The OPPO F21 Pro 5G is a phone that might not match hardware requirements from a phone that costs above Rs 25,000, but it sure does score on looks. Daylight camera performance is good enough as is the battery life, but the lack of a high refresh display or stereo speakers cuts into the usability of the device. If gaming and heavy CPU usage is something that’s part of your regular usage, then the F21 Pro 5G might not be the ideal choice. For the rest, the device can be a viable option thanks to its good design, Android 12, and decent image-taking prowess in plenty of light.

The Oppo F21 Pro 5G is all about camera performance. From picture-perfect portraits to overall colours and detailing, it ensures great images in daylight. However, for night photography, Oppo still needs to figure out something really impressive. But as we said, it’s not just about cameras. F21 Pro 5G provides decent battery life, stylish design, bright display, smooth user experience with lots of features, and decent overall performance for day-to-day tasks. Though, its 60Hz refresh rate display at the price of Rs. 27,999 surely leaves room for improvement. But, we can’t neglect the competition in the same price range and the biggest competitor is none other than its own Reno 7 5G with a better selfie camera, higher refresh rate and MediaTek Dimensity 900 5G processor in just an extra 1000 bucks. Besides this, Vivo V21 5G can be another option with a 44MP selfie camera and a higher refresh rate priced at Rs. 26,699. Well, if camera is not your priority, then there is Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge with good display and its 120W fast charging.
