Oppo’s Find X5 Pro is a solid device in most ways. It's packed with features, user friendly software and it provides an enjoyable, if not mind blowing visual performance. However, it's marred by an audio experience that’s easily surpassed by the class leaders. An iPhone 14 Pro Max costs roughly the same money and features fantastic sound and picture quality, as well as an equally solid build and feature set, and the Sony Xperia 1 IV is another great option if you prioritise picture and sound quality. Still, if you’re determined to go with an outsider choice for your next phone and sound quality isn’t much of a priority, the Oppo Find X5 Pro is certainly worth a look.

Reviewing the Oppo Find X5 Pro in 2023, to see if the ColorOS 13 experience is still satisfying and the camera tech remains one of the best of any Android flagship smartphones. The Oppo Find X5 Pro now costs under £1000 in the UK thankfully, but even long term it's still one of the most expensive mobiles in 2023. So should you wait for the Find X6 Pro or Samsung S23 Ultra, or get the Pixel 7 instead? This long term review takes a look at the camera, gaming performance, battery life and other bits of the Find X5 Pro. One of the biggest changes was the update to ColorOS 13, which added some fresh features and refreshed the UI theming. Everything still runs as expected and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is as dependable as ever. Although this Oppo smartphone can get quite tasty when the camera is being used or you get gaming. The camera performance still ranks among the best Android phones in 2023, especially in low light. Google's Pixel 7 Pro has overtaken it for night and zoom shots, but the Oppo Find X5 Pro will satisfy most users. Here's looking to the Oppo Find X6 Pro, curious to see if it can better the results once again.

The Oppo Find X5 Pro is a bit of a beauty. Just like its predecessor, it’s a stunning piece of hardware, with top-end componentry and great battery life. But perhaps the best thing is the price: at £1,049, Oppo is undercutting the Galaxy S22 Ultra, so it’s definitely on to a winner. However, if you can stomach the extra £100, it still might be worth buying the S22 Ultra in my view. It might not look as eye-catching, but performance is just as swift, the zoomed images are superior and it also comes with a bundled stylus. Samsung’s high-priced flagship might just about edge it, but the Find X5 Pro follows behind at a (very) close second.

The Oppo Find X5 is a meticulously thought-out flagship smartphone, with a keen price to match. Cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy S22 and £300 less than the Pro version, the regular Find X5 is a bit of a steal, and it’s definitely worthy of a place among the best in the business. Hitting the same high notes as its more expensive counterpart, the Find X5 excels in practically every area, with a long-lasting (and fast-charging) battery, a stunning design and a great, colour-accurate display. Even the use of the last-gen Snapdragon 888 isn’t much of a downer, providing rapid performance in our tests. The only real criticism is the lack of an IP rating, but if you can look past this you’ll be rewarded with a truly terrific flagship at an unbeatable price.

There's so much to love about the Oppo Find X5 Pro and we've hardly scratched the surface in terms of 'nice to have' additions, none of which interfere with an out-of-box Android 12 experience that will impress even the most ardent Pixel devotee. Oppo clearly understands the value of its devices for high-end gaming and business users and tips its hat to both. More importantly, Oppo has committed to three years of device updates and four years of security updates for its Find X range. That means that it should see both Android 13 and 14 during its lifespan, and barring any quantum leaps in technology, the hardware should be as capable then as it is now, making for a good long-term investment worthy of the post-£1,000 price. As such, we're giving this a mark that reflects not only its current brilliance but also its potential. We've been using this device on a daily basis for three months and it remains one of the finest phones we've worked with in 2022. The PC connection should improve in time, and Oppo's ongoing dedication to refinement and innovation within the Android space means that, if you don't feel the need to upgrade your device every year, you can buy with confidence that it'll do you proud into 2023 and beyond.

The OPPO Find X5 Pro is here to fight the iPhone. It’s a slap in the face, it’s a smartphone with a unique feel, it’s style, it’s aesthetic, it’s art from the back and beauty from the front. But, like the iPhone, this device obliges. You cannot change the password keyboard. You will have to trust a Chinese company that leaves you no choice. So… somewhere I heard that OPPO is a brand for visual enjoyment. And for top-of-the-line tech, there are Vivo and OnePlus. And I agree. The OPPO Find X5 Pro is for situations where you need to impress the owners of the most expensive iPhones, and you will do it without any problems. However, if you are a power user, this is not your choice. For 15 hundred bucks, it is easy to find a much better device.

In video mode, the Oppo Find X5 Pro generally records well-exposed footage. Color is acceptable, and detail is fairly decent, given the Oppo records at 1080p resolution versus 4K on most direct competitors. On the downside, exposure and white balance instabilities are often noticeable in all light conditions. In addition, very poor video stabilization means that videos recorded while in motion are almost unusable.

The Oppo Find X5 Lite is an extremely competent all round mid-ranger, with a slim and light design, a competent camera, and speedy charging. However, it’s not the fastest, its display is nothing to write home about, and it generally lacks the single killer feature that its key rivals all have.

In our testing, the Oppo Find X5 Pro achieves a mid-table position in the Ultra Premium segment and actually scores one point lower than its predecessor X3 Pro. Given that the newer device comes with a slightly bigger aperture and therefore a better light collection capability, this is a result we did not necessarily expect. Differences between the two devices are mainly noticeable in photo mode where the X5 Pro offers improved color rendering and a wider dynamic range but loses out in terms of autofocus performance and texture/noise trade-off. The X5 Pro is more than capable of delivering nice images in most situations, but compared to many Ultra Premium rivals, it lacks some key features, such as zero shutter lag (for fast focus and capture), a reliable HDR algorithm (for a consistently wide dynamic range) or a dedicated camera for long range tele shots. Overall, smartphone photographers can find better alternatives in the Ultra Premium segment at a similar price point.

Find X5 Pro could afford to improve its zoom cameras further (though it's sufficiently good enough as it is), and Oppo could also consider making a UI that doesn't look like it came out of a kid's storybook. The effort that went into copying Apple's Memojis could've gone elsewhere, too. Also, the phone's design also needs to catch up with the times (ironic, given that their Apple-inspired Reno7 Pro mid-range handset looks better than the Find X5 Pro). But those are just nice to have, and not a must to succeed. Its S$1,699 sticker price may stop some people in their tracks, but here's why it's a decent buy: it outperforms the Galaxy S22 series marginally in battery life and its performance is (at the time of writing) top of the charts, thanks to its heat management techniques. It doesn't have a stylus like the Galaxy S22 Ultra, but it has 1440p LTPO AMOLED display unlike the 1080p+ resolution on the Galaxy S22+. For that, the price feels less outrageous, even if the Oppo phone doesn't have Samsung's all-encompassing device and software ecosystem or security protections.

The Oppo Find X5 Pro is the right phone at the right place at the wrong time. I’m a big fan of the design aesthetic, the screen is gorgeous and the internals lead to smooth sailing no matter how many processor-intensive apps you throw at it. However, the OnePlus 10 Pro offers near-identical specs and a better software experience, all for a lower price. Why wouldn’t you opt for the 10 Pro? If the 10 Pro didn’t exist, I’d be wholeheartedly recommending the X5 Pro as one of the best Android phones you can get right now. But it’s not, and Oppo’s flagship stays in the shadow of its own subsidiary.

Having recently reviewed another Find X5 device that had what I considered a ‘strange’ feature I was more careful when I did the setup and this unit did not have it, however as it also did an update to the ‘Color Overlay’ of the Android operating system this could have been why it now works as I would consider all phones should function.

At a glance, the Oppo Find X5 Pro could easily be mistaken for its predecessor. It uses the same unibody design that integrates the rear camera into the body of the phone and even measures in at near identical dimensions and weight. However the X5 Pro’s back panel is now made of a ceramic material rather than glass, which feels nicer to the touch and is less prone to fingerprints. The downside is that the phone feels much slipperier in the hand and the phone slides off surfaces that aren’t level. Thankfully Oppo includes a transparent silicon case in the box as well as a beastly 80W fast charger (more on that later). The Find X5 Pro comes in two colourways – a ‘glaze black’ or a ‘ceramic white’, which is the variant I received for review. Overall, it’s a solid enough design but there’s nothing particularly striking about it to make it stand out from the sea of glass slab phones on the market. I would’ve loved to have seen Oppo offer a vegan leather finish similar to what they did with the Find X2 Pro but the company has chosen to play it safe this time around.

All in all, Hasselblad’s role in providing their expertise to the OPPO Find X5 Pro is bringing their ecosystem into the smartphone business through the introduction of its “el-Classico” XPan mode that brings the vintage spirit into the modern world while the Hasselblad Master Styles lets you stand in one of three expert’s perspective to see the world in their eyes. With it, now everyone can take professional class photographs with ease.

The Oppo Find X5 Pro is undoubtedly the company’s most comprehensive smartphone to date. However, it’s a case of cumulative small improvements rather than anything revolutionary compared to 2021’s Find X3 Pro. Performance is still in the same ballpark unless you’re a serious gamer, the futuristic design is ironically very similar, charging support is improved but not really any faster, and Color OS 12 is a little further refined but still bloated in places. Even so, this certainly doesn’t detract from the fact that the Oppo Find X5 Pro is an excellent phone. Oppo has clearly focused its most meaningful changes in the camera department, particularly with its custom Marisilicon X chip and Hasselblad partnership. Oppo is taking photography more seriously, removing gimmicks like the microlens, but the results are still hit and miss. The phone lives up to its marketing with the low light photography and videography capabilities, but these gains are thrown away by the frankly ridiculous color saturation applied to its pictures.

With its market-leading battery life, insanely capable camera, stunning screen technology, and its overall badass design language, I think the OPPO Find X5 Pro is well worth it in 2022 – even when compared to phones like the Pixel 6 Pro and Galaxy S22 Ultra. As flagships go, it has essentially everything you’ll ever need and/or want from a phone, and plenty more besides (like its dedicated Hasselblad Color Calibration). The design is unique enough to stand out from the crowd. It runs the latest and greatest chipset from Qualcomm. It has 5G, fast charging abilities, both wired and wireless, and it has plenty of internal storage, starting at 256GB and topping out at 512GB. Add in the option for 12GB of RAM and its gimbal-powered 50MP sensor and you’re looking at one of the most aggressively appointed phones on the market right now. If you can stomach the price tag – £1,039.45 / €1,183.39 / $849.98 – you’re going to be picking yourself a killer, unique-looking flagship Android phone with one of the best cameras and UX designs on the market.

OPPO went for a practical approach with the Find X5 Pro by refining everything that’s great with the Find X3 Pro. However, we’re still wary of its possible pricing here in the Philippines, considering that its image post-processing is not as refined as the engineering unit we used for this review.

If the phone ever goes on a festival discount, it's easily the better buy if you have earmarked the non-stylus Galaxy S22+ as your next phone option. On its own, the Find X5 Pro has lots of things that give other 2022 flagship Android phones the pressure to perform. We're not saying it's impossible to top the Find X5 Pro, but things are really heating up for its rivals if this is the handset to match or beat this year. In summary, if you want a top-notch Android-based phone that's not from Samsung but still exceeds it in some ways with attention to finer details, the Oppo Find X5 Pro is the phone for you. It's capable enough that we've awarded it our Editor's Choice seal of approval.

The Oppo Find X5 Pro is impressive in many respects but its design, although distinctive, won't please everyone. The ceramic material's slippery smoothness and liking for fingerprints could divide opinion, for example. Battery life and fast charging are no less than I'd expect from a top-flight phone, and the same goes for the high-quality AMOLED screen. The cameras perform well, although the Hasselblad contribution is perhaps a little overblown, and I'm disappointed to see that the Find X3 Pro's macro camera has gone. It's also a pity that Oppo insists on preinstalling an army of third-party apps. Although it's a decent flagship-class smartphone, the Find X5 Pro arguably struggles to justify its four-figure price. However, I'm keen to see how Oppo progresses with its dedicated image-processing chip.

There are a lot of reasons to like the OPPO Find X5 Pro. Case in point, the camera performance is definitely the best thing on the device, alongside the sleek and beautiful design, powerful chipset and crazy fast recharging speed. As much as I was annoyed by the amount of bloatware, you can now remove them in the settings. The battery performance could have been better too, but I was testing its capacity pretty hard, so it would likely perform longer under more normal conditions. On the other hand, the RM4999 price is somewhat a difficult price tag to justify. Many users would comment that you might as well top up a few Ringgit to get an iPhone 13 Pro but even if you discard that, there's still the Samsung Galaxy S22+ that is equally impressive at RM4299 as well as the Xiaomi 12 Pro for just RM3899 with similar tech specs and features. Another competitor is the vivo X80 Pro 5G for the same price but I haven't tested it yet. I think at the end of the day, it really depends on your budget. If you do have the budget and you're an OPPO fan, why not?

Preinstalled bloatware issues aside, the Find X5 Pro has one of, if not—the—best rear camera systems I've seen on a phone yet, especially in low-light situations. You can get some simply stunning images and videos from this, period. But if selfies are your primary thing, the front camera doesn't quite cut it. With a premium build quality and ludicrously fast charging, the 120Hz AMOLED screen also makes using the phone a joy. Regardless of whether you'll be gaming on it or not, you'll love the smoothness of the UI. The only real consideration is whether you can afford to drop $1000 on a new phone at a time when the price of everything is rising, but the claimed longevity of the battery and high performance helps to justify the long-term value. If the answer is yes, and you want the best images you’ve ever seen from a smartphone, then I would highly recommend the Find X5 Pro.

Priced at RM 4,999, the OPPO Find X5 Pro is going to be a tough one to recommend seeing that some of its competitors are available at lower price points. Featuring a unique selling point would often justify smartphones with high prices, but as I pointed out earlier, OPPO’s current-gen flagship is clearly missing something truly unique that could set it apart from the rest. Nevertheless, the OPPO Find X5 Pro is still a solid allrounder that does not disappoint in terms of performance and imaging. For those looking for a flagship-tier upgrade, this device is definitely one of the worthwhile choices for you to consider. Especially if you’re in the market for a premium smartphone that certainly looks the part.

This is the new OPPO Find X5 Pro. In the sea of smartphones that we are in, OPPO has some interesting ways to differentiate its new flagship from the others. Maybe, and a big part of that is down to the price of this handset. The screen is beautiful, it’s powerful enough to do everything you need from an Android phone, and the battery will last you a whole day. That doesn’t negate the high price of £1,049 in the UK. If you live in a market where you can buy the Find X5 Pro, the price will be the defining factor here. The truth is this phone costs more than a Pixel 6 Pro, and for a lot of people, the option from Google will be a better choice. The software is another concern. Some like ColorOS, and you’ll love what Oppo has here if you do. If you’re looking to switch from OnePlus, the Find X5 Pro is a great jumping-off point as the software is similar. That said, this phone costs more than a OnePlus 10 Pro, so why would you want to do that? The Find X5 Pro has everything that makes a smartphone great, but those two points are something you need to consider if you want to buy this handset.

The OPPO Find X5 Pro is a modern, attractive flagship smartphone with a list of impressive features but the camera zoom is a letdown and when you consider it's priced at over £1000, it just doesn't compare to the likes of Samsung and other brands who offer 5-10x optical zoom. The wide and ultra-wide cameras are excellent, though, as are the display and overall design of the smartphone. Plus, you get some nice bonus features thanks to the Hasselblad collaboration which will tempt some to buy. However, when you look at the competitive mid-range smartphone market, there's probably more out there to tempt you away from the OPPO Find X5 Pro.

The OPPO Find X5 Pro is well and truly an ultra-premium device with it ticking the right boxes such as great battery life, super-fast charging, stunning screen and a great user experience with software that just flows well and it buttery smooth. OPPO has delivered a genuine competitor to the latest from Samsung, Google and Apple. The pricing starts at AU$1799.00 which is quite steep, but it is cheaper than the likes of a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra – just without a stylus/S-Pen that the Ultra comes with. I can easily say, I recommend the OPPO Find X5 Pro and suggest if you’re after an ultra-premium device to put the OPPO Find X5 Pro on your shopping list. There’s no doubt that the Find X5 Pro is one of the best phones released this year. From its eye-catching (albeit, fingerprint-gathering) ceramic design, to a superb screen, powerful innards, insanely fast charging and extremely impressive camera performance, it’s nearly the perfect phone. Taken in isolation, the Oppo Find X5 Pro is a fine flagship Android phone. While I wasn’t blown away by the Find X5 Pro’s cameras, they are still very good. And the combination of powerful performance, a gorgeous display and still-fresh design makes the Find X5 Pro rather appealing. But such phones don’t exist in a vacuum, with the flagship competition being ever-more fierce. For starters, I don’t think the Find X5 Pro offers enough of an upgrade for people with the Find X3 Pro, especially when it comes to design and features. Equally, I feel the X5 Pro doesn't do enough to stand out from its rivals, which have broadly comparable specs, especially given the price Oppo wants people to pay. The Pixel 6 Pro is smarter with great photography performance. The iPhone 13 Pro Max is more consistent with class-leading video. The Galaxy S22 Ultra is more feature packed and has that standout Note-design. If it was my money, I’d choose Google’s phone.

The Find X5 Pro builds on an already great predecessor, and even though it doesn't bring massive changes, it's still a thoroughly capable alternative to the 'default' options in the top-tier segment. Having said that, we had one major issue with the X3 Pro that we hoped to see resolved on the X5 Pro, and it's not - a mere 2x zoom camera simply does not cut it anymore. The fact that it's a fairly simple 2x camera with limited low-light capabilities doesn't help its case either. The point is, the Find X5 Pro has no obvious downsides other than the telephoto reach and is strong on the fundamentals, but that's not making it exceptional. Not enough to justify the sticker price solely on the merits. On the other hand, less sensible decisions can be made than paying a premium for those two cameras in a sexy ceramic shell.

At such a high outlay, users receive a potent processor, impressive camera, great screen & exquisite design in the Oppo Find X5 Pro smartphone. There has been utmost competition in the industry (especially in the premium phones category). Yet buyers can not achieve the best of everything, even in flagships. Different brands target different audiences, thus you must pick a set of specs that matches your expectations the best. If you are unsure about Oppo Find X5 Pro or if it’s not the one for you, Check out other brands’ flagships phone like the Samsung Galaxy S22 ultra for all-rounder specs and performance. Also, there is the Lenovo Legion Y90 smartphone for a gaming-centric audience but the final decision is in your hand.

The Oppo Find X5 Pro’s overall score of 95 reflects its strong performance in most DXOMARK Display protocol tests. It is well suited for overall indoor and low-light use, thanks to good color fidelity and good readability. However, it is not comfortable for watching HDR10 videos, as its colors are too saturated and dark tones are not visible.

Oppo Find X5 Pro smartphone comes with flagship specs and 5G support. The Find X5 Pro smartphone release date is $967 (Rs 73,000 in India) approx. You’ll get a 6.7-inches LTPO2 AMOLED 1B color display with a 120Hz refresh rate, plus gorilla glass Victus protection is also present. There is also the latest Android 12 OS that supports ColorOS 12.1 UI support. For smooth performance, there is a 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset for the global and Dimensity 9000 for China. For all types of games, Oppo Find X5 Pro comes with Adreno 730 / Mali-G710 MC10 GPU. There’s a 50MP main camera and a 32MP selfie camera for daytime and low-light photography. You can record a 4K video at 30fps. Unfortunately, no MariSilicon X imaging chip, 5-axis OIS, and Hasselblad color calibration are available for the Chinese variant. A huge Li-Po 5000 mAh battery with 80W fast charging, 50W fast wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging support is also available.

The Oppo Find X5 Pro’s audio performance was quite average for an Ultra-Premium flagship smartphone. Its strong suit is in recording, particularly when compared with its predecessor, the Find X3 Pro, where it made significant advances in spatial and volume attributes. But audio on the Oppo Find X5 Pro is prone to occlusion, whether in playback or recording. For example, the speakers can be completely occluded in a gaming scenario, as well as during a selfie recording in landscape orientation. For everyday recordings, sounds are generally artifacts-free. With Dolby’s SFX activated by default, one tip is to use the “movie” preset for any use case because it results in a clear and bright sound.

The Find X5 Pro is a loaded flagship overall, but doesn’t really have any extra-special features to talk about. That said, its ceramic body is a treat to look at and hold, and the phone also scores high on cameras and performance. Do note that the phone isn’t available to buy in India officially yet.

With a strong camera, lovely display and charging speeds that make me worry less about overall battery life, the Find X5 Pro is a great choice. But for me, the design is a downgrade over the Find X3 Pro. The overly shiny rear is such an odd choice that I don’t think it works – although judging by the generally favourable opinion towards it from others I am probably just in the minority. Better zoom and slightly more stable software would be my only other notable requests on how this big Android phone could be improved. The Oppo Find X5 Pro is a strong rival to the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and it should stand out as one of the best phones of the year.

First things first, the Oppo Find X5 Pro is not available for purchase in India and at the moment Oppo has no plans of launching it in the country as well. As such, this verdict is not going to be buying advice, and the scope of this verdict will be limited to giving you an idea of why the Find X5 Pro is good and it's not good. To begin with, the Oppo Find X5 Pro is a gorgeous phone, one that could arguably pass off as the best-looking phone to have launched in the recent past. In fact, it's such a well-designed phone, that its looks alone can be a reason to buy the Find X5 Pro. Then, there's the fact that it offers really fast 150W fast charging and also hides beneath the surface flagship-grade hardware in the form of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip. The cameras on the phone are also positive, with the Find X5 Pro generally clicking really impressive shots using its primary lens. And did I forget about the display? Yes, to complete the package the Find X5 Pro also has one of the most colour accurate panels on a phone right now.

The Oppo Find X5 Pro is a nice-looking, slick Android phone. It has many of the high-end features you should expect, including Android’s top chip from Qualcomm, good battery life, a great screen, unusual back design and incredibly fast charging. Its main camera on the back is very good, but the phone is let down a little by its ultra-wide camera and its 2x telephoto camera is particularly weak compared with the competition. The ColorOS software is improving, now with four years of support, but it still has lots of little niggles. The biggest problem is the phone’s £1,049 RRP is simply too high for what it offers. When premium rivals offer more capable 4x zoom cameras for less or mega zoom cameras for a little more, five or more years of software support and similar or better screens and designs, Oppo still has much work to do to justify its very high asking price.

The Oppo Find X5 Pro is beautiful, powerful phone that delivers just about everywhere it counts. Compared to other recent flagships, this feels like an all-rounder: you get an excellent display, strong performance, decent battery and charging, and a powerful camera - all wrapped in a fairly unique design. Outside of that aesthetic I'm not sure there's a single area that the Find X5 Pro is the absolute best of any phone out there, so if you have specific priorities you may find that some rivals give you more of that you want. But few nail just about every aspect of the phone the way that Oppo has here, which could give the Find X5 Pro more wide-ranging appeal.

If you are looking for a unique design with good performance, battery life, and fast charging ability, Oppo Find X5 Pro is something considerable. Though I did not like the pictures clicked using the Zoom feature, the Find X5 Pro cameras otherwise do fairly well. Also, the phone is currently available in the international market only. Unless you import it, Indian customers have to go for Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, iPhone 13 Pro among others if they want a flagship phone with good performance, decent design, commendable battery life, good cameras, among others.

The Oppo Find X5 Pro is, generally, an impressive flagship phone with an attractive display, powerful processor, excellent main camera and fast charging capabilities. It even excels in some areas where flagships can be spotty, like in the battery and software departments. However, the X5 Pro isn’t a perfect phone: the camera zoom is weak and this updated Oppo is missing the X3 Pro’s fantastic microscope camera.

The Oppo Find X5 Pro could easily be an alternative to the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra for people who do not want to switch to an iPhone. The build quality is top class, while the performance is among the fastest on a phone by far. The cameras on the Find X5 Pro leave almost nothing to complain about, and the display can mesmerise you. But you cannot buy the Find X5 Pro in India yet, which, as I said, is a shame. The Find X5 Pro is available for around Rs 1,10,000 in Europe. So, even if the Indian price were more or less the same, the Find X5 Pro would have given the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra a run for its money.

It’s a pity that we might not get to see the Oppo Find X5 Pro in India as Oppo hasn’t confirmed whether it will launch the phone here or not. Because this is a genuinely good flagship experience. The display is top-notch and the battery performance is excellent. With the best Android processor powering it, the Oppo Find X5 Pro delivers an impressive performance as well. The camera capabilities are impressive as it shoots quality images in low-light as well as in broad daylight. The Find X5 Pro has all that it takes to get into the category of impressive flagship phones.

I overhauled the best Android phones recently, adding the Galaxy S22+ as the best all-round choice. The S22 Ultra gives you a better camera and a few extras, but as an overall option, the S22+ is ideally positioned for most users. With the Find X5 Pro, you're getting a phone that holds its own against the Galaxy S22+ and comes out ahead in a few areas. The 120Hz AMOLED screen is absolutely stunning, the cameras take outstanding photos in low-light, the software is clean, modern, and gives you a lot of customizability. You also get 80W wired and 50W wireless charging with better battery longevity. And of course, there's that design to consider; I'm not exaggerating when I say that this is my favorite phone design in 2022. There are a few issues, particularly with the aggressive battery management in ColorOS 12 and inconsistencies with the wide-angle lens, but these should be fixed with software updates over the coming weeks. All things considered, the Find X5 Pro is a fantastic overall choice if you want a flagship in 2022.

This flagship builds on the aspects that its predecessor did so well, delivering a gorgeous ceramic back design, along with great software, top-tier speed, and super battery life.

I will say that after years of checking out new phone releases, there’s very little that excites us these days. Incremental updates aren’t very exciting, but every now and then you come across something that catches your attention. With the Oppo Find X5 Pro, I’m I will say the look of the rear panel definitely caught my eye when I first saw it. I was impressed with the white, but after seeing this Glaze Black in person, I’m glad they sent the Glaze Black. Secondly, I’m really excited about checking out the Hasselblad tuned cameras combined with the dedicated MariSilicone X imaging processor. I’ve seen some examples of crazy nighttime photos and videos so we’re eager to try that out. Other than that, the Oppo Find X5 Pro looks like a real capable phone with beautiful looks and hardware to back it up. Hopefully, this is true after we get more time playing around with it and whether or not it’s worth your time and money to import one.

I think it’s safe to say that the Oppo Find X5 Pro is out to impress. While its price tag won’t be for everyone, it’s hard to argue against because everything about this phone feels premium whether that’s the curved ceramic design, its sophisticated camera system, the battery life that lasts for days or its ultra fast performance and speedy charging. So what are the downsides, other than the price? Well, there aren't really many at all, and none of them are dealbreakers. If you have small hands then this may feel like a bit of a giant to you, and if you tend to use up a lot of your phone storage very quickly then you might be put off by the fact that there’s no way to expand it using a MicroSD card, although not many flagships do have that now. Another reason you may not like it is the fact that the interface isn’t quite as sleek as stock Android, but even then, you’ll soon get used to Color OS. All in all, the Oppo Find X5 Pro is a fantastic piece of kit that is bang up to date in just about every area - quite frankly, it would be hard not to love it.

This camera has autofocus, which means it can be used for extreme close-ups or macro shots. The third camera is a 13-megapixel telephoto camera with 2X optical zoom and up to 20X digital zoom. For selfies, there's a 32-megapixel front camera. Judging by some of the camera samples you see above from the limited time I spent taking photos, the Oppo Find X5 Pro seems to a reliable shooter. The phone can record video at up to 4K with some impressive stabilisation if you use the main camera. The Oppo Find X5 Pro has been priced at EUR 1,299 or roughly Rs. 1,09,900 (before import taxes) which would have made it an interesting competitor to the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and the iPhone 13 Pro (Review), if it were available in India. What are your thoughts? Would you like Oppo to launch this phone in India? Let us know in the comments.

Overall, we’re quite impressed with the Find X5 Pro. Like its predecessors, it’s shaping up to be one of our favorite flagships of the year. It merges stylish design, a beautiful display, a fantastic camera system, speedy performance, and excellent battery life to deliver a uniquely premium flagship experience. Sure, it’s expensive, but Oppo has always positioned the Find X series as a halo product, and the Find X5 Pro is no exception. If you live abroad, can afford its steep price tag, want a flagship Android phone that's a little different, don’t mind living with a 2x telephoto and 1080p30 selfie videos, the Oppo Find X5 Pro appears to be absolutely worth considering.

The Find X5 Pro has one of the top three displays we've ever seen in a phone, and can go toe to tow or even surpass such flagships like the S22 Ultra or iPhone 13 Pro Max in most other areas such as camera performance, battery life, 5G connectivity, or charging speeds. We'd have to particularly emphasize the ultrawide camera quality that matches that of the main sensor, as well as the fast nighttime shots processed by the in-house MariSilicon X NPU with only the telephoto camera's zoom range being on the midrange side. Despite its numerous virtues, at 1299 EUR the premium ceramic Oppo Find X5 Pro will be priced on par with Samsung or Apple's finest, as usual, which would be a tough hill to climb at launch. If you mange to source it from Asia where it'd be much cheaper, then the Oppo Find X5 Pro is definitely a go, not to mention you can get an exclusive blue leather version there, too.

OPPO Find X5 Pro is not only a “muscle show” move by OPPO in the industry, but also an important milestone for domestic self-developed cores. The addition of high-standard sensors, improved anti-shake components, and glass lenses has strengthened the position of the OPPO FindX series of imaging flagships. The strategic cooperation with Hasselblad brings accurate, natural colors and a delicate and ceremonial shooting experience. If you love taking pictures, you may not be able to refuse. OPPO founder and CEO Chen Mingyong’s statement on OPPOINNODAY2021: “Technology companies must solve key problems through key technologies. If there is no underlying core technology, it is impossible to have a future. And flagship products without underlying core technology are castles in the air. “. The road to self-development of domestic chips is not smooth sailing. It is precise because there are many technology companies that are as down-to-earth as OPPO and are not afraid of difficulties, the technology of China’s high-end manufacturing continues to improve, and the future of China’s high-end creation is infinite.

The OPPO Find X5 Pro is an excellent all-rounder flagship. I love its refined, sort of understated design, and the tremendous ultra-wide camera. However, as I said at the beginning, I am disappointed with the phone losing the micro-lens from last year’s edition, as well as having a relatively mediocre zoom. I could forgive this if the device was priced a bit lower than premium flagship territory, but it’s not. The OPPO Find X5 Pro’s €1,299/£1,049 price in Europe/UK makes it more expensive than the Galaxy S22 Ultra. I have no doubt these European prices are due to the usual tariffs, that in Asia the phone will likely be priced lower than the Galaxy S22 Ultra, but it’s still jarring to see the European prices. Still, if you’re on the market for a premium Android with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and you find the S22 Ultra too unwieldy to hold — or if you don’t care about zooming 10x or beyond — then the OPPO Find X5 Pro is a very worthy alternative.

Smartphones have started to look more similar to each other, even when their camera bumps are sized and positioned differently. There seems to be a trend now to actually banish those metal and glass plates to create a more unified look. The OPPO Find X5 Pro definitely takes that to a new level that creates a visually pleasing and elegant aesthetic that is not only clean but also soothing. That's not to say that the phone is all looks, though, as it is definitely one of the most powerful options in the market today. Synthetic benchmarks be damned, the powerful computer in your pocket will make short work of your daily tasks and entertainment needs, and its generously large battery promises you won't have to scramble for a charge until you get home late at night. Thanks to its new MariSilicon X imaging NPU and its partnership with world-renowned camera expert Hasselblad, the images and videos it produces are simply superb, making the OPPO Find X5 Pro one of the best smartphones this year in our book.

The Oppo Find X5 Pro doesn’t feel like a huge upgrade over its predecessor. This is an iterative change with a few upgrades and tweaks, but no big eye-catching differences. We’ll miss the microscope camera. Oppo’s disinterest in zoom photography is a shame too, but in our full testing time we’ll have to see if we’ll be wowed in other aspects of the camera. Otherwise, this is the same premium phone that you’ve seen before with a good-looking display, fast charging, and a powerful processor.

After a few days with the Oppo Find X5 Pro, it’s clear this isn’t a monumental step forward for the series. Instead, it makes smaller adjustments in multiple areas with varying degrees of success. The design, for me, is a downgrade over the Find X3 Pro. The overly shiny rear is such an odd choice that I don’t think works. The changes and additions to the camera though could see this compete with the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and iPhone 13 Pro.

Even so, it’s not too hard to reconcile the phone’s target market with its relatively steep price tag — in the UK, at least. At £1,049, we’re talking just below Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max money, which is just right given that the Find X5 Pro doesn’t quite offer the same ultra-premium photography suite and overall software ecosystem. Not to mention that these two are the best in the business when it comes to long-term support for their flagship products. Things are more questionable in Europe, where the €1,299 price tag overshoots its big-name rivals. Nevertheless, I can recommend the Find X5 Pro to anyone who digs a unique design and loves to customize the look and feel of their mobile experience. There’s personality here that you don’t get elsewhere. Spend a few minutes kicking the bloatware off the phone and Color OS 12 is a really lovely piece of software to use in isolation. Combined with ultra-fast charging, battery longevity, and a smattering of other improvements, there’s a wonderfully imperfect phone here for those who can get on board with Oppo’s futuristic vision.

On the whole, while not entirely groundbreaking and new, the Find X5 Pro is clearly an evolution of the Find X3 Pro. The ceramic finish on the back is fancy, and should prove more long lasting than the glass. Perhaps that’s a big part of the story: longevity. With the more durable finish and more durable battery, and other optimisations in software, you may have a great phone for a few years, rather than just two years. As far as specs and hardware go, it’s up there with the best of them, and we think a lot of people will like the customisation available in the software.

But outside of the new Qualcomm silicon and the more durable build, we couldn't really find many reasons for consumers to go for this one instead of the older (and now possibly cheaper) Find X3 Pro.
