Reviews for the Oppo Realme 6
Source: Think Digit EN→zh-CN
The Oppo Reno 6 stands tall amidst its competition due to its stellar, eye-catching design and good overall performance. While there are plenty of appealing options in this mid-range category of smartphones, the Oppo Reno 6 offers a good blend of looks and performance. If you wish to own a phone that stands out of the crowd under 30K, the Oppo Reno 6 becomes a very obvious recommendation since it not only looks good but also has impressive performance, good cameras, and decent battery life with speedy 65W fast charging support.

So overall, when we compare this vanilla version to its Pro version, there are many features that you won’t find in the Realme 6. Although the Realme 6 Pro is a balance to the overall specs and features, the Realme 6 on the other hand, offers a decent gaming experience focused on gaming capabilities. If you are a heavy gamer, this Realme 6 is for you, but if you are a content creator and want to be satisfied with your budget. Definitely go for the Realme 6 Pro. But overall, this new Realme 6 series is a great phone with a decent price range that offers a lot to pay for. Again the price of Realme 6 starts at P11,990 for 4GB/128GB and P13,990 for 8GB/128GB.

In our video, we tested four games, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds(PUBG) Mobile, Cyber Hunter, Call of Duty (COD): Mobile, and Asphalt 9. The reason why we picked these four is simple, it has intensive graphics and it offers higher FPS. These games will also push the GPU to maximize gaming capabilities to further observe the behavior of the phone especially the heat anticipation. With that being said, Realme 6 is powered by Mediatek Helio G90T a gaming-centric chip with 8GB ram and 128GB internal storage.

The Realme 6 is the company’s attempt at raising the standards of a mid-range smartphone. For PHP 11,990 for the 4GB + 128GB and PHP 13,990 for the 8GB + 128GB, you already have a device with a large hi-res screen, good performance, versatile cameras, and a large battery. And the cherry on top, the 90Hz refresh rate, a feature mostly found in more expensive devices. And given that configuration, the Realme 6 stands out and can be considered as one of the best value smartphones in the market.

Video recordings are acceptable, and the UIS (electronic) stabilisation mode does help in keeping things smooth when necessary, but it’s nothing to get excited about and more often that not, causes severe warping. Slo-mo is pretty much useless in anything but the best of lighting.

RM1199 is not too bad a price for the realme 6, considering that you get a 90 Hz display, a 64MP camera, 30W fast charging and also a good amount of RAM and storage. However when you see the half-baked implementation of the display and the inconsistent processing from the camera, you will realize that the realme 6 isn’t nearly quite the deal the hardware makes it out to be. Sure, optimizations to the camera software and maybe an extended list of apps that can make use of the 90 Hz display may come later down the line, but given realme’s cadence of releasing smartphones every six months, getting the realme 7 might just be the smarter choice by then.

After you get past the frustrating setup procedure and learn to live with a couple of small idiosyncrasies that don’t get in the way *that* much this phone can be a decent experience.

The RealMe 6 doesn’t fully escape it’s budget phone roots but it’s a more respectable effort than previous RealMe devices in a noticeable. Where I struggled to find reasons to recommend last year’s RealMe devices, the RealMe 6 distinguishes itself. It’s not quite a must-buy but there’s a lot to like here. On the whole, the RealMe 6 feels like a tremendous improvement on where last year’s hardware and software fell short.

So… is the realme 6 the “gaming” phone that realme is claiming to be? Not really. It’s misleading since the phone can only run games at 60Hz. Even if the 90Hz option is unlocked, the chipset is not powerful enough to sustain 90FPS in games with more demanding graphics.

Despite the caveats listed above, Realme 6 delivered a better experience than expected throughout my review. That's thanks largely to considerations taken by the company when it was building the device but also because the realme UI software is intuitive and well-optimized. What Realme lacks in high-dollar parts, it more than makes up for with simplicity and features.

With only minor niggles, the Realme 6 is easily one of the best budget phones you can buy in 2020 offering attractive design, quad rear cameras and smooth performance. Not to mention this is the cheapest phone you can buy with a 90Hz display.

The Realme 6 is the best phone you can buy for €230. In fact, it's shaping to be the best deal all the way up until the €400 mark. Yes, it's that simple and we hope we've made your decision easy enough.

When people asked me whether they should or shouldn’t buy the Realme 6, I did not have anything negative in particular to tell them. The phone offers good performance, nice display, long battery life, a spectacular design, and a camera that takes good daylight pictures. The Realme 6 is a value for money device and I believe it is can give tough competition to its closest competitor– the Redmi Note 9 Pro.

So that was the detailed Realme 6 Camera review. So summing up, the Realme 6 with quad camera set up, was quite average in camera department. the two areas where the device did perform well were portraits and selfie camera. The 64MP rear camera performance is acceptable but not class leading. With an average video recording and sub par low light experience, we think Realme missed the opportunity to have a good camera in this segment.

Realme has launched this phone with a price that is starting at Rs. 12,999 for the 4GB/64GB model. At this price, it is hard to find competitors that can match the spec sheet of the realme 6. 4GB of RAM however, is a little low currently, so I would recommend getting the 6GB variant. This one is priced at Rs. 14,999 and at that price, other factors start to weigh in. There is also a 8GB RAM model at Rs. 15,999. While it does offer an amazing battery life, excellent day-to-day performance and a smooth 90Hz screen, the camera quality is poor, especially in low-light and it does have plenty of thermal issues. If these are issues that you can overlook in a phone and you really want a phone with 90Hz and a great battery life, then the realme 6 can be the phone for you. Otherwise, the only real competitor in this price range is the Redmi Note 8, whose review you can see here.

Its name might indicate that it follows in the footsteps of the Realme 5, but the Realme 6 actually takes Realme's bestselling "number series" into a whole new price zone. And actually takes the place of the Realme 5 Pro. And does so gloriously!

After analysing pretty much everything on the Realme 6, I have come to conclude, not only for you but for myself also, that Realme 6 makes more sense than the Realme 6 Pro. I have also been using the Realme 6 Pro and I was more excited about the Realme 6. It has got everything right for its price a 90Hz display that is convincing, a fairly powerful processor to handles tasks and allow gaming, decent cameras, and arresting design. Except for the processor, the Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro are identical, which is why you should go for the Realme 6, I believe.

Despite the price hike, Realme is stepping up its game in the sub INR 15,000 segment. Bringing a high-refresh rate screen, high-performance mid-range chipset and unparalleled charging solution at this price is impressive. So even if you are not okay with the price increase compared to the vanilla Realme 5, you can't deny the fact that there are a number of hardware improvements backing up this decision.

Realme has once again delivered an impressive smartphone at a reasonable price with the Realme 6. This device packs in a powerful processor, delivers good battery life, and also comes with a 30W fast charger in the box. Realme's UI has improved but we do wish there was less bloatware. If you are looking for a value-for-money device priced at or around Rs. 15,000, you might want to wait just a little while for Xiaomi's Redmi Note 9 series to be launched. However, you will still be satisfied with this phone.

Realme 6 is an interesting smartphone and it also marks the advent of 90Hz refresh rate on a budget smartphone. The design sure looks premium and the chipset is not bad either. The cameras look promising and the fast charging support makes it an interesting smartphone to buy in this price range. As for the competition is concerned, the Realme 6 will be put against Redmi Note 8 Pro and more.
