Overall, Samsung’s Galaxy A34 5G doesn’t exactly deliver on what I was hoping to see from a yearly upgrade. There’s the increased base RAM and better screen but little else in the way of additions or improvements. Nevertheless, you’re still getting perks like an IP67 rating, Samsung’s feature-filled software, impressive battery life, and a decent (but not great) main camera. Toss in a long-term update pledge and this seems like a pretty solid proposition. There’s still a ton of room for improvement, though. The phone lags behind Google and Xiaomi’s budget phones when it comes to sheer horsepower, you’ve got glacial charging speeds, and the overall design feels a little cheap and dated. But if all you want is a durable, long-lasting mid-ranger that will keep getting updates over time, this is a solid pick.

The Samsung Galaxy A34 smartphone has all the decent specs, such as a good display, great processor, excellent camera, and exceptional battery and that would be enough for many people. But, a budget enthusiast will quickly find gaps that are just too large to ignore. The lack of any charger in the box, lack of wireless charging, lack of premium material, and the lack of Wi-Fi 6 in 2023 will be a disappointment for many users. The smartphone is decent on its own, but the moment you start comparing the benefits of this smartphone start to fade away. It can’t even be called a decent upgrade over its predecessor, the Galaxy A33 5G. But if you are a Samsung fan and get this phone at a discount price, we can recommend it to users who are looking to upgrade. Anyway, the device is good to go with and provides value for your money.

As I began this review by saying that the Samsung Galaxy A34 5G is not the most specs-heavy device on the market, but it is a reliable choice for those upgrading their old Samsung phones. For daily productivity, it works smoothly without negligent stutters. You can expect a similar performance even after two years, provided that you follow the basic battery hygiene. Samsung is also promising a total four years of Android OS update promise that should be a trend as we go forward. The camera performance of the Galaxy A34 is decent, although there are better options available for videos. I would recommend opting for the 256GB storage variant, as it could be beneficial in the long run. If you prioritise productivity and battery life, the Motorola Edge 40 is also a great option in this price range.

The Galaxy A34 is a good mid-range device. While it may not be the fastest phone, nor does it have the best camera or the largest battery, it still manages to deliver on all fronts. The smooth software experience, coupled with Samsung’s promise of four years of Android updates, IP67 water and dust resistance, all-day battery life, and a decent primary and ultra-wide camera, ensures that the phone will stand the test of time. If you can overlook the dated teardrop notch and are looking for a phone that can do it all, is lag-free, and will last you at least a few years, the Samsung Galaxy A34 is a solid buy in the mid-range segment.

The Galaxy A34 5G is an all-plastic affair, including the rear cover and frame, though there are individual cutouts in the rear cover for the triple camera system. My first impression was that the Galaxy A34 5G looks a little dated compared to many other budget phones, though that’s largely due to the use of a waterdrop notch here rather than a punch-hole cutout. It also bears a bit of a resemblance to older iPhones owing to the rounded corners and relatively thick design. The phone brings a 6.6-inch 120Hz FHD+ OLED screen to the table, and it defaults to low auto-brightness at first. Thankfully, that’s just the usual adaptive brightness quirk and the phone gets bright enough for viewing in all conditions after you’ve made some tweaks. You’ve also got an optical in-display fingerprint sensor. It’s no surprise that this is noticeably slower than Samsung’s flagship ultrasonic scanners, but I also found it was also slower to unlock than some of its rivals.

Reviewing the Samsung Galaxy A34 5G, with an unboxing of this value smartphone, camera test, gaming, battery life and more. The Samsung A34 5G is just £300 in the UK right now, making it one of the best phones at this price. It's cheaper than the Pixel 7a, Galaxy A54 and other rivals, and I enjoyed testing it this past week. The Galaxy A34 5G boasts a similar software setup to the S23 flagship smartphones, with OneUI 5 adding all of Samsung's usual mobile services. That camera isn't as good in low light vs the A54, but it's still fine for everyday photos and video. And gamers can also enjoy a bit of Genshin Impact, on low detail settings - but the Mediatek chipset can't keep everything smooth all of the time. Battery life is a highlight of the Samsung Galaxy A34 5G, giving all day play even with plenty of camera action. And that AMOLED screen is a bit of a stunner, even if it didn't support HDR streaming on Netflix. Visuals are bright and poppy, with a stereo speaker setup (but no headphone jack). So for the £300 budget price, the Galaxy A34 5G is a smartphone that's quite easy to recommend. However it also has strong rivalry from the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite and Poco F5, so check out the competition - full reviews and unboxing videos here on Tech Spurt!

The Samsung Galaxy A34 5G is like any other classic Samsung mid-range phone — not very heavy on specifications, but offers a good experience overall. It even mimics its flagship cousin, the Galaxy S23, in terms of design. The phone also gets an IP67 rating, which is a rarity in sub-Rs. 30,000 smartphone. It also has a good display and performance unit that are capable enough to get most tasks done. Battery life is quite impressive. Colours in photos are often a subjective choice, but the Galaxy A34 5G manages decent performance in general. The lack of a charger in the box is becoming standard across all Samsung smartphones and the Galaxy A34 5G is no different. While the software is feature-rich, a bit more work seems to be needed in order to make the UI experience more fluid.

The mid-range segment is loaded with phones that offer a lot more features, performance and other nifty features than Galaxy A34 5G. What A34 5G brings to the table is stability, consistency or performance, battery life and most importantly security and regular software updates. So, go for Galaxy A34 5G if you are looking for a no-nonsense phone for your daily usage.

Overall, the Samsung Galaxy A34 5G looks premium but has a simple and minimal design. It's also good enough for normal usage and delivers acceptable photo quality. The 4 years of software support is another nice bonus, but you probably shouldn't get this if you're a heavy mobile gamer. But for RM1599, we think it's a tad expensive. After all, you can find other devices with great features in the same price range. For instance, the POCO X5 Pro 5G offers a Snapdragon 778G chipset, a 108MP camera, and 67W fast charging technology for just RM1099. There's also the Xiaomi 12 Lite, which is also priced at RM1599 but uses the same Snapdragon chipset and camera sensor. But if software support is important to you, the Samsung Galaxy A34 5G is an option you can consider. Otherwise, it's just a matter of your preference in UI, design, or brand. Anyway, thanks for reading and stay tuned for more tech gadget reviews at TechNave.com.

When it comes to mobile devices, most people are attracted by the shiny new flagships. But Malaysia is a country of budget-conscious people, so a product's value is also of utmost importance. It's why mid-range devices are so popular here, but also means we're spoiled for choice. Having said that, the Galaxy A series devices from Samsung are among the best options available, in our opinion. They look good, deliver great features, and have extra value in other areas. For the new Galaxy A series devices launched this month, that extra value is a 5+4+2 combo. Today, we'll tell you why this combo makes the Samsung Galaxy A34 5G and Galaxy A54 5G the reliable smartphone companions you need.

Samsung Galaxy A54 and A34 should repeat the success of previous models. In many aspects, they have undergone evolutionary rather than revolutionary changes, which is a completely natural situation, because even flagships usually receive few fundamental changes. At the same time, smartphones have brighter screens and it is worth reminding that the A-series remains almost the only mass offer in the middle segment with cases that are protected against moisture and dust. The manufacturer also emphasizes long software support, which will come in handy later, during real operation. In the context of comparing A34 and A54, the main task is to emphasize the features of the models. Smartphones turned out to be universal, the Galaxy A34 has a more affordable price and will suit those who are less interested in cameras and who like big phones. The model will also please you with a bright display and excellent battery life. Perhaps this is what a "youth" smartphone should be. In its turn, the Samsung Galaxy A54 fully justifies the higher price with better cameras, it is worth considering the glass back panel, and compact dimensions can also be an advantage in choosing this model.

Samsung dominated the mid-range last year and will dominate again this year, there’s no doubt about it, despite the fact that it didn’t bring much innovation. But its competitors aren’t making much of an effort either, so the situation can’t change much. Despite the fact that Samsung Galaxy A34 has grown a little without much need, it has also received some welcome changes. For example, it has a better display with Always-On, can have up to 256 GB of storage, and also benefits from premium software support, like the Galaxy S series. There’s not much to complain about with the smartphone. Yes, the charging is slower, the manufacturer did not supply a charger, and the back cover bends a little, but despite these minor flaws, we have a mobile phone that will please a really wide range of users. The Samsung Galaxy A34 5G is a decent mid-range Android smartphone that will delight you with a high-quality Super AMOLED display, a fairly powerful processor, high-quality cameras, and excellent battery life. If you’re looking for a new smartphone but don’t want to take a risk by choosing a lesser-known manufacturer, the Samsung Galaxy A34 5G will be a good choice and a good buy.

The Galaxy A34 is a very good mid-range phone, especially if you specifically want a Samsung at a more affordable price than an S-series model. You could always consider a refurbished phone to get last year’s flagship at a big discount, or take a look at our roundup of the best mid-range phones to see what the Chinese manufacturers offer for a similar price. It is possible, for example, to get a phone with a faster processor or with a charger (also faster) and case for similar or less money. But trade-offs elsewhere are inevitable. Ultimately, the Galaxy A34 is good value and ticks the right boxes for most people and, unless you want slightly better cameras and performance, better value than the Galaxy A54.

It’s time for the moment of truth! Should you consider the Galaxy A34 or not? Here’s my answer—if you are looking for an all-rounder midrange phone that provides a bit of everything with only little compromises here and there, the A34 makes sense for you. I think, at this point, the only thing that’s separating Samsung from other brands is its software commitment and brand value. And if that is important for you, going for the A34 honestly will not disappoint you. But you might be able to get the best value after the price cut and festive deals. Anyway, look at the competition, if you want the best performance per dollar, the iQOO Neo 7 with Dimensity 8200 will give you the best value. Likewise, the Nothing phone (1) with its distinctive design, good cameras, and equally good display is something that you can consider. Want the best camera? You can go with the Google Pixel 6A which is now available at a discounted rate! So yeah… there are plenty of options to choose from in this price segment, but overall the A34 does so many things right for me to recommend.

The Galaxy A34 is a great mid-range device. No question about that. It is not too dissimilar from its predecessor, which is frankly a good thing. Certain staples of the model are here to stay, like the IP67 ingress protection rating, the stereo speakers and the large battery. This year, in particular, the A34 has grown considerably. With a 6.6-inch panel, it is now bigger than both its predecessor and the Galaxy A54. The new display is 120Hz as well, which is a nice little upgrade over last year's 90Hz. Even though the A34 lacks automatic refresh rate switching, we still appreciate the jump-up in smoothness. Add the excellent maximum brightness to the mix, and the A34 manages to almost match the display of its more-expensive A54 sans the HDR capabilities. The chipset choice on the Galaxy A34 is also seemingly working in its favor. While the new Samsung Exynos 1380 does manage to offer a bit higher performance on the A54, the Dimensity 1080 inside the Galaxy A34 holds its own. Plus, it offers great power efficiency, contributing towards the excellent battery life of the A34. The Galaxy A34 doesn't improve much over its A33 5G predecessor in the camera department, but it offers a very well-rounded mid-range camera experience. The triple main camera setup is versatile, too. Honestly, we are struggling to find any major faults with the Galaxy A34. It is an excellent device that deserves plenty of praise and a hearty recommendation.

At Rs. 30999, the Samsung Galaxy A34 has definitely emerged as one of the best options in the mid-range segment. Courtesy, powerful performance, long battery life, impressive portrait camera, and premium look. However, there are some shortcomings too – an outdated dew-drop design display with thick bezels and slow charging speed let it down. Alternatively, you can find Nothing Phone (1) at a similar price with a better display, night photography, unique transparent design, and slightly better charging speed. Other than this, you can check iQOO Neo 7, Oppo Reno 8, and Realme 10 Pro Plus at an even cheaper price. Having said that, with 4 Years of OS Updates, overall satisfactory performance, decent cameras, and good battery life – the Galaxy A34 5G is a great option to consider.

The Galaxy A34 5G took me by surprise. It costs considerably less than the Galaxy A54 5G but manages to one-up it in some key areas: performance and battery life. Or, to be more precise, it behaves as you would expect any device with a spec sheet like the A34 to behave unless the manufacturer drops the ball on optimization, which Samsung seems to have done with the A54, making all that hype about its fancy new Exynos 1380 chip moot. If I were to dock points from the A34, it has to be for its rather outdated front-facing design and plastic-heavy build – the A54 wipes the floor with the A34 here thanks to its glass back and the more modern punch hole camera cutout. Speaking of cameras, the A54 has a better camera setup and capabilities. Apart from that, well, the Galaxy A34 is the clear winner of the award for the most well balanced mid-range phone from Samsung in 2023. The alternatives include last year’s Galaxy A53 and even the Galaxy S20 FE 5G, which is still available here in India and could be available in other markets as well. You will be paying a little more for these alternatives (unless you can get a deal like this), but you will still be saving money compared to the A54. The A53 and S20 FE won’t get as many OS upgrades as they have been on the market for a year and more, but that’s a sacrifice I would gladly make.

There’s no denying the finesse of the Samsung Galaxy A34 5G – it does a couple of things well, and it generally does it better than most at this price. The key highlights of the Samsung Galaxy A34 are its gorgeous, premium design and its bright Super AMOLED display. The design is, simply put, classy. It exudes a premium air, that very few do at this price. The display, on the other hand, is simply the brightest we’ve ever tested at this price with solid viewing angles and good colour. However, there are some misses as well, where its competition takes the lead.

To put it bluntly: A33 owners won’t get much by upgrading to the 2023 model. However, those with the A32 will appreciate the upgrades on the display, performance, and even charging speeds. The Samsung Galaxy A34 is a competent mid-ranger phone, especially if you consider Samsung’s unrivaled software support. However, more than the usual Chinese brands, Google offers an almost irresistible alternative in the Google Pixel 6a (review) with its frequent sales. If your priority is performance and camera, the Pixel 6a is an unbeatable deal. However, if good battery life, silky smooth screen, and microSD expansion matter to you, the Galaxy A34 is a solid option in the mid-range price segment.

The Galaxy A34 5G is a meaningful upgrade over its predecessor that cuts unnecessary parts and improves in just the right areas to transform into a well-rounded phone for its price range. Its strongest characteristics are without a doubt the amazingly long battery life and the long software support, which is not standard for the mid-range market. In other words, if you are searching for a phone that would not break the bank and nevertheless last you for 3 or 4 years, this is a great option. That being said, there are other potential options out there, like the OnePlus Nord 2T and the upcoming Pixel 7a that cost just a little more but offer so much more in all other aspects that make up a good phone. In the end, it boils down to your budget ceiling and how much longevity matters to you when deciding whether to buy or not the Galaxy A34.

The Samsung Galaxy A34 features a great 120Hz Super AMOLED display, an OIS-stabilised camera, stereo speakers,a huge battery and IP67 water resistance along with 4 years worth of Android updates, making it an exceptional value-packed budget smartphone with a wealth of features that typically are deployed piecemeal in cheaper phones. While the Galaxy A54 has slightly more durability and features along with a higher price tag, the Galaxy A34 stands on its own merits as one of the best budget phones in its price range.

The Galaxy A34 ticks a lot of the boxes which makes it a compelling device to buy. Yes, it seems to be priced slightly on the higher side if you compare it to some of its other competitors from brands like Realme, iQOO, and Vivo. Then, there’s the fact that Samsung is already selling some of its former flagships at a similar price point. However, there are a couple of advantages of going with Samsung that other smartphone brands simply don’t have an answer for. First, there is the breadth and depth of Samsung’s after-sales services, something that most other players in the mid-level segment haven’t been able to establish even after all these years. Then, there is Samsung’s guarantee of giving updates, under which, every Samsung device will be eligible for four major Android updates and 5 years of security updates. Had the Galaxy A34 been a little competitively priced, recommending the smartphone would have been a no-brainer. Having said that, at Rs 30,999, it ticks a lot of the correct boxes for someone who’s looking for a budget smartphone from a reputable and established brand that performs well, has a solid camera system, and has a great battery life. Value for money doesn’t necessarily mean the cheapest option out here. Therefore, all things considered, the Galaxy A34 is a device that screams value for money.

The Samsung Galaxy A34 5G was capable of achieving good results in static scenes without too much contrast, making it a good option for landscapes and portraiture. In these kinds of non-demanding conditions, still images offered good exposure and nice detail, but our experts also noticed some image noise in the shadow areas and in blue skies. The autofocus was reactive and accurate in most situations. Video clips recorded with the Galaxy A34 5G were exposed well, with low noise levels. Effective video stabilization ensured smooth footage. Image quality somewhat dropped in more difficult conditions, such as high-contrast scenes as well as under indoor lighting or in low light. Image detail was reduced while noise became more intrusive. Our testers also noticed some exposure and color instabilities across consecutive shots. Ghosting and fusion artifacts were visible in scenes with moving subjects.

The Samsung Galaxy A34 5G’s battery performance earned the device a global score that was above average in our database. During the autonomy tests, the Galaxy A34 5G showed excellent results when used in factory default mode. The battery lasted more than 2.5 days during our typical usage scenario, and the autonomy on the go, especially when using the GPS, was very good. When testing specific usages, the results were not as good, but the overall autonomy remain above average. The device struggled when streaming music. The charging time was longer than average, taking 1 hour and 42 minutes to fully charge the battery. The autonomy gained after a quick 5-minute charge was also below average with only 3 hours and 53 minutes recovered on average. Nevertheless, the charger’s residual power drain was very low when the device was fully charged and either plugged in or not. The charge efficiency was average. The discharge currents were quite low on the go and average when testing individual usages, meaning that the device is quite well optimized. When compared with other devices from the Advanced price segment, the Samsung Galaxy A34 5G ranked in the middle of our database, a huge improvement over its predecessor the Samsung Galaxy A33 5G, which ranked at the low end of the segment. The Galaxy A34 5G’s autonomy score was decent, but the charging and efficiency scores were slightly below the average.

And so, that leaves us with the conclusion. I do not have the price for this phone at the time of this recording, so I’ll leave all of the information in the description below when I have it. Obviously, I do think that the A34 has to be lower in price than the A54 but from what I’ve tested, I do think that the A34 is better than the A54. Yes, we’ll have a bigger camera notch but I can live with that. We have better battery life, better performance for gaming, and an arguably better matte finish for the back panel too. Other parts of these two phones remain pretty much identical and that makes me think that the A34 is better in terms of value when compared with the A54. Remember to check back later when we have the price because we’ll be updating the prices and holistically concluding our review of this phone.

I do have a problem with the design, though. That Infinity-V display is surrounded by uneven bezels, with the bottom bezel larger than the other sides. The rear is quite similar to the Galaxy S23, which I believe is nice if design consistency is your thing. But the front side of the phone is what you’ll spend most of your time looking at, and the Galaxy A34 5G looks too outdated in 2023. (Apologies for the lack of photos of the front of the phone in this hands-on; the weather was far from ideal when we captured these photos.). Again, I haven’t used the A34 5G for long so I can’t really offer any conclusive judgements right now. But it just feels like the more attractive proposition compared to the Galaxy A54 5G. Which of the two phones will come out on top as far as the overall experience and the value-for-money quotient are concerned? Well, watch out for our review of both phones to find out!

Samsung Galaxy A34 is a good 5G mid-range phone with a premium design and solid battery life. The phone has good cameras and offers solid performance while performing day to day tasks. On top of that, you get a fantastic display paired with stereo speakers for an amazing content consumption experience. On the other hand, the 25W charging speed falls behind the competition. The overall design looks nice but the water-drop notch spoils the display experience. All in all, the Samsung Galaxy A34 is a great option if you are looking to buy a mid-range 5G phone for everyday use.

It’s tough to say right now exactly how the A34 will perform when it comes to overall speed, battery life and camera quality but, on paper, it doesn’t look bad at all. The screen specifications point towards something rather special and Samsung has done a stand-out job with the overall look and feel of the phone as well. For a mere £349 you’re getting an attractive handset with what should be a terrific display and a big battery. You’ll be able to purchase one of the new phones from March 2023 and, if you do so before 25 April, you’ll get a set of Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 (worth £139) for free. The Samsung Galaxy A54 5G and A34 5G just launched and my hands-on review shows off the camera tech, OneUI 5.1 features and specs. The UK price starts from £349 for the Galaxy A34 5G and £449 for the Samsung A54 5G, with a release date of April 25 2023. That A34 5G uses Mediatek's Dimensity 1080 and the Samsung A54 5G has that Exynos 1380, which apparently offers a slight performance boost in early benchmarking. I'll be testing them in real life and with lots of gaming to see if it makes a difference! Both of these mid-range smartphones serve up a familiar S23 design, although the A34 is larger at 6.6-inches vs 6.4. The Samsung Galaxy A54 5G upgrades the back to Gorilla Glass 5, while both are water resistant. That camera tech is completely different, however. You get a larger sensor with bigger pixels on the Samsung A54, for improved low light photography. Whether this works, you'll have to wait for my full review to see! The Samsung Galaxy A54 5G may sport a smaller display but it's the same slick Super AMOLED tech with 120Hz refresh and 1000 nits brightness. You have a stereo speaker setup, microSD support and years of OS updates too.

Samsung has upgraded the Galaxy A34 in a few very important aspects this year. Its design now could easily be confused with the body language of its much more expensive siblings from the Galaxy S23 series as Samsung ditched the useless depth camera that was only there for the count and also disposed of the camera island. Its predecessor made one of the best photos from a phone at this price point, and Samsung wisely decided not to mess with the winning camera formula, leaving the sensors as they were. Where it did upgrade, however, is the display which is now of a higher quality with better refresh rate. When we add the two days on a charge one would get with regular usage, the Galaxy A34 becomes one of the most enticing propositions you can grab in the Android universe this year.

The Samsung Galaxy A34 5G sits in an affordable position, not quite at the top of Samsung's mid-range option, but offering a couple of attractive features. The design - looking like the flagship phones - is boosted by the great finish to that plastic back. It might not be glass, but it looks great. The IP rating that it carries is also attractive, but it's the big display that's likely to appeal to many buyers. It's big, bright and bursting with colour, in classic Samsung style. The hardware performance might be a little slower and the cameras a little less capable - but we'll bring you a full assessment when we've had the chance to review the phone fully.

大尺寸可以让屏幕有更高的分辨率。因而例如字体等的细节将会更丰富。不过另一方面,小屏幕的功耗会较低,而设备也会更轻盈小巧,售价更低。
