The Samsung Galaxy A73 5G gives the impression of a much more expensive phone than it actually is. It has a display that is both vivid and detailed, making it a joy to use for consuming content. The device is not only aesthetically pleasing but also lightweight and easy to carry around. The phone comes equipped with a powerful processor that is not only able to breeze through routine tasks but is also able to play games with respectable graphical settings. Additionally, the phone is waterproof up to IP67 standards, and, all things considered, its cameras are good as well. Despite the fact that the phone has a decent overall package when it comes to performance, the display, and the battery, it falls short in some essential areas. One of them is that there is no charging brick and the device charges slowly. Even though it lacks flagship specifications, the Samsung Galaxy A73 5G succeeds as a whole because it does a good job in most areas. The brand value of Samsung with the promise of 4 years of OS updates definitely makes it a solid recommendation.

The Samsung Galaxy A73 comes with mostly all the sort of incremental upgrades that you’d expect from an annual refresh. Its available colours are more discreet, but otherwise it looks pretty much the same as its preceding model did. Which is great for those who loved the look of the A72, but not quite so for those who didn’t. While it’s overall a good mid-range device, the fact that it breaks past the RM2000 barrier may be a hard pill to swallow for some. Ditto the lack of a 3.5mm audio jack, especially if it is something you still actively use. But if these are things that don’t bother you, then the Samsung Galaxy A73 is a good midrange device to pick up if you’re just looking for your once-in-a-few-year upgrade.

The Galaxy A73 5G is a capable, fully equipped mid-range 5G device with a premium price tag let down by dated internals and sub-par charging. Highlights over rivals, though, include IP67 waterproofing and long software support.

The benefit that comes with Samsung is the promise of four coming updates, which is really enticing. At a lower price point, this phone was a perfect buy. The bloatware was a problem, but not as much a headache as earlier. Lack of a charger and cap at 25W was another issue, but you can look past it. If you can wait a few months, this phone would be a steal at a 20 - 25 per cent discount.

The Galaxy A73 is, as the title of this review has already given away, an excellent phone. It’s pricier than it should be, but with a few discounts, the Galaxy A73 is a great package. Fast and fluid performance, great photos from the main camera, a beautiful high refresh rate display, a water resistant design, stereo speakers, and all-day battery life are all awesome to have, and the four years of OS upgrades that Samsung is promising is just unbeatable in any segment, let alone the A73’s. If you don’t care about software updates, though, I would recommend trying to get the Galaxy S20 FE, which can be purchased at a similar price in many markets. And look, there are also many other options on the market that offer an equal or better experience at a similar or lower price, so all I will say is that if you do end up buying the Galaxy A73, you won’t be disappointed.

The Samsung Galaxy A73 smartphone arrives with its equal share of flaws and features. But, if you look at the whole picture, you are getting a pretty decent combination of software and specs. The display quality is great, but it lacks the HDR features, while the performance won’t feel that underwhelming. As far as software is concerned, you won’t face many problems, the transition between the apps is quite good. The camera section improved, and the battery renders ample screen time.

While the Galaxy A73 isn't exactly a bad phone in any way, its confusing price tag mixed with the lack of differentiation from last year's Galaxy A52s means we are hesitant on recommending it to anyone looking for a semi-flagship Samsung phone right now. Instead, you should save some money and go with the A52s which is almost the same phone as the A73.

The Samsung Galaxy A73 is an excellent midrange smartphone with strong overall performance. It can’t match flagship devices but if you don’t need the luxury of a high-end camera system or blazing fast speeds, this will certainly be able to satisfy you, especially with a price tag of RM2,099. The 4 years of OS upgrades and 5 years of security patches just sweetens the deal even more.

Overall, the Galaxy A73 5G is a great all-rounder mid-range phone that one shouldn’t hesitate to pick up if you aren’t ready to spend two months of a typical Malaysian salary on a flagship phone, although its selling price of RM2,099 is a little hard to swallow for some, as you can easily top up slightly extra cash for a Galaxy S21 FE, which at least offers true flagship performance and a camera system that can serve you better, but for those who wants to feel more awesome, perhaps the Galaxy A73 5G’s design and colors might just be your cup of tea.

For me, authenticity means not being afraid of your “true” self and being real whether in the workplace or relationship. Right around the time, when I was trying to understand the true meaning of accepting myself, the Galaxy A73 showed a clear path. It’s a premium mid-range phone (starts at Rs 41,999) that never tries to project itself as an alternative or equivalent to the flagship Galaxy S22 Plus; instead, it pitches itself as an all-new device for someone who has never experienced the kind of features it got at this price point. It could be a big phone… it might lack the latest and most advanced Snapdragon chip… it might not come with a glass back… but these things don’t really matter when the product truly differentiates itself from the competition and tries to win over customers for what it offers. The Galaxy A73 is not bringing anything new or trying to fix something; it’s offering a choice to customers at a certain price point without overpromising anything. That’s a good thing. It’s a healthy practice by making everyone clear what to expect and what not to expect.

The Samsung Galaxy A73 5G brings to the table an exceptional amount of value for what you pay for. For RM2,099, you’re getting a large 120Hz display that is fantastic to behold, good overall performance, 5G connectivity, a decent set of cameras for casual users, an IP67 water resistant chassis and expandable storage, making it a very capable workhorse.

The Samsung Galaxy A73 5G starts at Rs 41,999 and for the price, gets more than a few things right. For one, the device is among the rare breed of Android phones priced under Rs 50K to ship with an IP rating. Furthermore, the device looks good too and is relatively lightweight as well. More importantly, the handset ships with a capable processor that can not just tackle everyday tasks without breaking a sweat, but can also run games at respectable graphics settings. That’s not to say that the phone is perfect. In fact, you can get a significantly faster Android with a premium design for the same price or less. Furthermore, unlike the competition, the Samsung Galaxy A73 5G doesn’t ship with a fast wired charger in the box and the handset’s wired charging speeds pale in comparison to the competition as well. Be that as it may, the device offers a capable camera stack and what is quite possibly, the most refined custom skin on any Android phone at the moment.

The Oppo F21 Pro 5G is all about camera performance. From picture-perfect portraits to overall colours and detailing, it ensures great images in daylight. However, for night photography, Oppo still needs to figure out something really impressive. But as we said, it’s not just about cameras. F21 Pro 5G provides decent battery life, stylish design, bright display, smooth user experience with lots of features, and decent overall performance for day-to-day tasks. Though, its 60Hz refresh rate display at the price of Rs. 27,999 surely leaves room for improvement. But, we can’t neglect the competition in the same price range and the biggest competitor is none other than its own Reno 7 5G with a better selfie camera, higher refresh rate and MediaTek Dimensity 900 5G processor in just an extra 1000 bucks. Besides this, Vivo V21 5G can be another option with a 44MP selfie camera and a higher refresh rate priced at Rs. 26,699. Well, if camera is not your priority, then there is Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge with good display and its 120W fast charging.

Should you buy the Galaxy A73 5G? Yes. I think the Galaxy A73 5G is still one of the best mid-range smartphones that you can buy right now. The overall experience that the Galaxy A73 5G offers is magnificent – though the price is just… kinda high at RM2,099. I mean, you can get the Galaxy A52s at about RM1.5k from retailers at Shopee or Lazada now, but you won’t get the same software support as the Galaxy A73 5G, and I think that is one of the important factors that many people do not care about until it is too late.
