What’s not to like about the Galaxy Book Pro? It’s as light as a feather, so slender it almost vanishes when looked at side-on, has a superb display, a solid array of ports, a good keyboard, a massive trackpad, excellent performance and good battery life. I’d rather Samsung’s marketing suits hadn’t insisted that you can only have a touchscreen on the 360 models and an LTE modem only in the 13.3in machine, but I suppose they have their reasons. And considering how good the rest of the package is – and how reasonable the price is – it seems churlish to complain. Will it sell like the Galaxy S21? Probably not; it’s only a laptop, after all. However, it’s so good that it deserves to. It’s officially our favourite Windows laptop of 2021.

The Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 360 is a formidable all-rounder when it comes to both productivity and entertainment. Not only is it fast and reliable, but it’s also beautifully designed and lightweight. The display could be a tad brighter, but you won’t really notice given how wonderfully vibrant colours appear on this screen. Similarly, if you foresee the 1920 x 1080 resolution niggling at you over time – especially when you're paying so much – you may want to look elsewhere. The defining feature of the Pro 360, of course, is its 360-degree hinge which converts the laptop into a tablet – and for that Samsung demands at least an additional £135/$200 compared to the standard Galaxy Pro. Unless you’re a digital artist who wants to save on buying a graphic tablet separately, it’s hard to justify shelling out over a grand for S-Pen support. In the same vein, it’s difficult to justify buying the Pro 360 just for 5G connectivity, especially when the infrastructure isn't yet pervasive.

Our complaints are few and far between. It would be nice if Samsung offered more fine grain customization options when ordering one of these laptops, and the speakers, despite the AKG branding, are merely serviceable. And in if you're not invested in the Galaxy ecosystem, you may find the copious preloaded software to be annoying (though none of those apps load at startup, so kudos for that). Those are relatively minor gripes, though. Samsung may be best known for its Galaxy smartphones, but don't overlook its laptops, or at least this one. The Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 360 nails what a productivity laptop should be all about—form, function, and long lasting battery life.

The Galaxy Book Pro is available in 13.3” and 15.6” sizes and we review the larger model with an 11th gen quad core Intel Core i7, 16GB RAM and a 1TB NVMe SSD. The aluminum clad Ultrabook is available in Mystic Bronze and Mystic Navy and is just 11.9mm thick. As ever the Wacom EMR S Pen makes it ideal for artists and avid notetakers. It starts at $1,099.

The Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 360 is a mixed bag. Its portability is superb thanks to its slim, low-weight design. The fairly long battery life and tiny charger brick are great too. This is just the sort of laptop we'd like to take to an overseas conference. But there are problems. We'd rather have a higher-resolution LCD than the slightly fuzzy-looking Full HD OLED panel used here. The hinge is a little loose, too, and you'll notice a couple of little build compromises here - despite the aluminium panels being used - and the keyboard is somewhat shallow. Plus those fans are some of the most noticeable we've heard in a thin and light laptop. There are unusual strengths here, but a bunch of weaknesses. So it's about weighing up the whether Samsung's Pro 360 is a match for your needs or not. We find the non-hybrid LG Gram series laptops easier to recommend, but the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 360 is arguably more ambitious.

The Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 360 is a disappointing 2-in-1 laptop: the speakers aren’t great, the keyboard is shallow and I find it hard to appreciate the brilliant aspects of OLED with such a reflective screen. It’s still a decent lightweight laptop, but you’ll find more joy with the LG Gram range.

With its beautiful AMOLED touchscreen, great battery life, and comfortable S Pen stylus packed in, the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 360 is a great laptop for creatives, students, and professionals who like to take notes or doodle on their work. It's also a great choice for anyone seeking a general-purpose Windows laptop that can transform into a big tablet, though if performance is a priority and you don't care about the tablet functionality you might be happier with the Dell XPS 13 or its larger sibling, the Dell XPS 15. If you're amenable to Apple products, you could also get better performance and battery life out of the M1-equipped MacBook Pro for roughly the same price, though you wouldn't get a touchscreen. However, the fact that the Galaxy Book Pro 360 is good enough to compete with the best laptops from market leaders like Dell and Apple is a big win for Samsung.

With the Galaxy Book Pro 360, Samsung set out to make a 2-in-1 convertible that's more like a phone than a laptop. It's unquestionably sleek, thin, and light for a 15-inch 2-in-1. In fact, when it comes to physical dimensions, it trounces its competitors in this category, including the Spectre x360 and Yoga 9i, both of which are nearly a pound heavier and much thicker. It also lasts far longer away from a power outlet, something that is likely to appeal to both frequent travelers and those working or distance-learning from their backyards.

If you’re a Samsung fan who hasn’t been sold on the Galaxy Book lineup so far, I’d say this is the one to get. I wish the hinge were sturdier, I wish the keyboard wasn’t quite so flat, and I wish the screen got a tad bit brighter. But I don’t see any of those things significantly hindering the overall experience. For once, Samsung has made a tough 2-in-1 to beat.

If it’s performance you’re after, Samsung’s Galaxy Book Pro 360 does fairly well in our roundup of comparable laptops. But it isn’t the reason to buy the Samsung’s massive, svelte laptop. The Galaxy Book Pro 360 truly shines as a multimedia machine, with battery life that’s an unexpected delight.

With a sumptuous display, impressively thin and light design and respectable battery life, the Galaxy Book Pro 360 once again shows Samsung is capable of producing a great laptop. The company’s also done well by including the S Pen as well as providing a roomy keyboard and trackpad. I don’t even mind the privacy-centric software features. But with a bad camera and atrocious face-editing software, Samsung needs to remember that not everyone wants aggressive filters on their photos and videos . The Book Pro 360 is a great 15-inch laptop if you don’t need a good webcam, and in a world where we’ve grown incredibly reliant on video meetings, it’s hard to imagine there are many people who can live with that.

I’m not a fan of the keyboard. Samsung’s app designers also need to be told a stern no when they ask to write and bundle more apps. There’s reason to integrate the Galaxy Book Pro 360 with the ecosystem of Samsung phones, but the company hasn’t yet found an efficient way to do so. Paying about $1,500 for all this might be a bit too much, though Samsung offers cheaper options that we’ve listed elsewhere in this review. For the size, weight, and price, plus intangibles like its rich multimedia capabilities, we’d recommend the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 360 as one of the premier thin-and-light notebooks PCs that you can buy.

The Galaxy Book Pro 360 is an excellent option for those who want a large screen on an ultra-portable chassis. Content creators will appreciate the vivid 15.6-inch AMOLED display, and the Book Pro 360's slender yet durable aluminum frame means frequent travelers won't even notice the laptop in their backpack, purse or briefcase.

I haven't used a 15" laptop as thin or lightweight as the Galaxy Book Pro 360 since the LG Gram. While I wish it had a brighter screen (and a proper place to put the pen), it's still a compelling notebook from a manufacturer better known for its smartphones.

As a Windows PC and Galaxy phone user, I was pretty excited to test one of Samsung's premium Galaxy Book Pro and Pro 360 laptops. Available as a regular clamshell laptop or convertible two-in-one in 13- and 15-inch sizes, the Galaxy Book Pros are the first results of a co-engineering relationship between Samsung and Intel and they're built to be the centerpieces of a Galaxy ecosystem for "mobile-first consumers."

With a Super AMOLED touch screen, a 360-degree hinge, an 11th Generation Intel Core i7 processor, and unique software features, the Galaxy Book Pro 360 could be the best Samsung laptop yet.

The Galaxy Book Pro 360 is sure to spark comparisons with models from Microsoft and Apple, but, in a way, it feels like it belongs in a class of its own. I can't remember reviewing a 15-inch laptop that is this portable. Yes, some weigh less, and I'm sure you could find a few that are about as thin, but the Galaxy Book Pro 360's combination of thin, lightweight, and durable has rarely, if ever, been achieved to this extent.

Meet the new Galaxy Book Pro, and Galaxy Book Pro 360,.. the company's latest and greatest laptops, with one of these being more of a successor to one of my favorite products of 2020. Big thanks to Samsung for figuring out how to give us a private hands-on with the laptops and tell you more about them. With Diego Rivera on camera I'm Jaime Rivera with Pocketnow let's go hands-on.
