Reviews for the Samsung Galaxy F55 5G

The Samsung Galaxy F55 5G is a stylish trendsetter with a vibrant display and long-lasting software support. While its specs sheet certainly won’t wow anyone, the phone tries to offer a decent mix of everything, resulting in a balanced experience. However, you will need to deal with the annoying camera shutter lag, heating issues and preinstalled apps. You will also need to buy a 45W charger separately for Rs.3,499 from Samsung as the company does not provide on in the box. If you want a thin and lightweight Samsung mid-ranger without splurging much money, then the Samsung Galaxy F55 5G is a good choice under Rs.30,000. Otherwise, phones like the Realme GT 6T, Motorola Edge 50 Pro and the OnePlus Nord 4 will offer better value for money with superior cameras and displays.

To conclude, the Samsung Galaxy F55 5G mainly offers a premium design. Its slim profile and premium leather finish make it a stylish option at this price point. The IP67 rating is definitely the cherry on the cake. Its Super AMOLED display works well for consuming content. So, if you are looking for a stylish mid-ranger that offers a decent mix of performance and premium design, then the smartphone sure seems to be an interesting choice for a mid-ranger. However, the phone has plenty of competition at this price point. The Nothing Phone 2a (Review) from Rs. 23,999 offers a unique design, better performance, and better cameras. The Poco F6 (Review) (from Rs. 29,999) offers the latest Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, delivering much better raw and gaming performance, faster 90W charging, and gaming-centric features.

The Samsung Galaxy F55 5G proves to be a dependable mid-range smartphone that delivers on its promises. It impresses with its camera capabilities and overall performance. What catches the eye is its sleek design, especially with the vegan leather touch that adds a premium feel. The device’s display is vibrant, and its cameras perform decently in well-lit conditions. While it handles daily tasks and casual gaming well, it could use some improvements in battery optimization. Although the camera performance is satisfactory, it doesn’t stand out, and the selfie camera faces occasional glitches. However, Samsung’s commitment to software updates ensures long-term usability. Competition in this price segment is stiff, with brands like Realme and Poco offering compelling alternatives. What gives Samsung an edge is its reliable after-sales service and long-term software support.

The Samsung Galaxy F55 5G retails in India starting at Rs 26,999. However, with bank discounts, the handset can be bought for as low as Rs 24,999. For the asking price, the F55 seems to be a compelling package for its sleek vegan leather design, which exudes premiumness. The handset also delivers a respectable performance, vibrant display, and respectable cameras in daylight. While the phone excels in day-to-day usage and casual gaming, it could have benefitted from better battery optimisation. The alternatives include Nothing Phone (2a) (review), OnePlus Nord CE4 (review), POCO X6 Pro (review), Vivo V30e (review), and more. While all these smartphones might seem better in various aspects, none surpasses Samsung’s software update cycle.

If you are looking for a phone from a reliable brand with extended software support, the Galaxy F55 can be a good choice. While it might not have all the mighty specs like its contemporaries, it does really well in terms of features that matter to most users. However, hardcore gamers and camera enthusiasts might have to look elsewhere.

Design is a subjective thing, yet the Galaxy F55 makes a better smartphone compared to the Galaxy M55 because it is better optimised overall. For example, the Galaxy F55’s front camera performs better despite being identical to the Galaxy M55 on-paper. With premium aesthetics, decent display and a good battery life, the Samsung Galaxy F55 is a good mid-range option for those looking for something uniquely styled yet practical. The smartphone also incorporates a camera that clicks social media friendly pictures and a decently powerful processor that won't disappoint during casual gaming. However, if you are looking for a performance-oriented smartphone or a camera-focused smartphone, there are other options available in the market in the same segment.

Overall, the Galaxy F55 5G does show some improvements over the Galaxy M55 5G. While it does lack a fluid experience over its competitors and also falls short in other areas, it's definitely a better built device over the Galaxy M55 5G, thanks to the leather finish of the back panel making it feel more premium and look more appealing. If you specifically want a Samsung smartphone in this price range, go for the Galaxy F55 over the M55, even though it's difficult to justify its existence at its price point when smartphones like the Poco F6 5G exist in the same segment.
