At a starting price of Rs 26,999, Samsung Galaxy M55 5G offers a decent value-for-money proposition to the buyers. It’s sturdy and it has a smudge-free design that is hard to dislike. It offers a decent performance, if not an exceptional one, along with a day-long battery life. Sure, there are areas where the phone could do better. For instance, Samsung could improve the overall camera performance of the phone. Other than that, and the charger, the Galaxy M55 5G is worth considering if you are looking for a phone under Rs 30,000.

Priced starting at Rs. 26999, the Samsung Galaxy M55 5G is not perfect, but it delivers on many key features. This makes it a strong contender for those seeking excellent value. It boasts a stunning display with smooth refresh rates, a reliable battery that lasts a full day, and decent camera performance. However, it's not without drawbacks, as occasional heating issues have been reported. Despite this, the Samsung Galaxy M55 5G is a solid option if durability is a priority. Samsung's commitment to software updates ensures it's a dependable choice. So, if you're looking for a feature-packed mid-range phone with a touch of personality, the Samsung Galaxy M55 5G is definitely worth considering.

The Galaxy M55 is the perfect mid-segment monster for those who love Samsung phones and/or want the assurance that comes from investing in a very established brand. You can get devices with better processors and cameras, faster-charging batteries, and chargers in the box for good measure, but what makes the Galaxy M55 is its ability to tick most mid-segment boxes brilliantly. It might not set benchmark records, but it seldom misses a step. In cricket terms, we would say it is more Rahul Dravid than Brian Lara – all quiet, reassured, consistent without fuss. And for many of us, that is more than enough.

The Samsung Galaxy M55 5G has a starting price of Rs. 26,999, with the top-end 12GB RAM variant selling for Rs. 32,999. At this price, the phone has plenty of competition. There's the recently launched Nothing Phone 2a(Review) with its unique design and almost stock software experience. It's not only cheaper but also offers faster performance and features a slightly better camera setup. You could also check out the Realme 12+ (Review) or the Realme 12 Pro (Review) at this price if you're looking for something with a better design. Then there's also the Poco X6 Pro (Review), which is once again cheaper and offers much better value for money. It's also leagues more powerful. The Samsung Galaxy M55 5G is a tough recommendation, especially when there are so many better options at the price. It's no doubt a good mid-range smartphone, but there's no stand-out feature here.

Okay, so is the Galaxy M55 a good option for the price? Honestly, if I was looking for a Samsung option at that very price range, I would rather go with the A35 instead, and that too for a lot of many reasons. First, you get a premium design, better IP67 ingress protection, better display protection, and better cameras on the A35. I know some of you might think that the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 will save this phone, but no, even the Exynos 1380 on the Galaxy A35 can pull off almost similar gaming results with much less heating. So if you absolutely need the Samsung Experience, my suggestion is you better get the Galaxy A35 instead at NPR 46,999 for the 8/128GB trim or add some more money and get the 8/256GB cue at NPR 51,999.

The Samsung Galaxy M55 is a jack of all trades, master of none sort of a smartphone. It does many thing well, but does not really stand out for any one particular reason — all things considered, it is the perfect all-rounder, if you will. And that is exactly what we look for in a budget smartphone. You get perhaps one of the best battery life in a smartphone today, a pretty good screen, and a solid set of cameras that have good potential which should be getting some solid software updates. You also get pretty stable and balanced performance, even though you won’t be topping any charts any time soon. And even though you get an all-plastic build at this price point, it still looks and feels premium. The only real downside that I can think of is the fact that you get tons of bloatware and ads, and, an SoC that is about two years old at this point, although that is not really an issue in day-to-day performance, not yet at least.

With its good performance and satisfactory battery life, the Samsung Galaxy M55 emerges as a solid option for users who value functionality over aesthetics and build quality. The inclusion of 45W fast charging and a vibrant display further enhances its appeal. With that said, if your priority lies in a camera-centric smartphone with superior build quality and a premium user experience, you may find other options within Samsung's lineup or from other brands in the same price range.

The Galaxy M55 5G surely excels in the display and build department but needs a lot of software optimisation at the moment for a more refined experience, both in terms of general performance and battery backup. Not to forget, the cameras need some work too.

The Galaxy M55 only manages to rise above other Samsung phones in the same price bracket because of the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chip. This chip isn't as powerful as the Galaxy A55's Exynos 1480, but it's more than enough for even the most demanding games and is better supported by game developers. The rest of the phone is fine, but nothing spectacular. And for photography buffs, this phone is a strict no-no. The 50MP front camera doesn't noticeably improve selfie quality, and the long time the camera takes to capture night mode shots, both in automatic mode and in the dedicated Night mode, makes it very undependable unless you only take photos outdoors during the day. The M55 fits the bill for gaming enthusiasts looking for a phone with good performance and a price tag that doesn't break the bank. But those who take lots of photos should stay away and get something like the Galaxy A35 or even last year's Galaxy A54 instead.

The Samsung Galaxy M55 smartphone comes with pretty solid specs, which include good software, decent battery life, and appealing camera results. All of those factors are great, and the phone does bring a stunning display so that content streaming won’t be a hassle. But still, there are some aspects that this phone lacks. For instance, the device didn’t have decently built quality, which gives an inexpensive feel even though it’s a mid-range phone. On the other hand, the camera software does lack when it comes to lowlight photography. At the same time, the performance department is also great as compared to other mid-range phones that even offer Snapdragon chipsets in the same price range. But if you are looking for an alternative smartphone, you can choose an alternative option like Vivo iQOO Neo 9 would be a fantastic choice. It would bring superb built quality, amazing software customization, and better performance. But still, consider all of the factors to make a wise decision according to your needs.

The Samsung Galaxy M55 5G is priced in India starting Rs 26,999. This goes up to Rs 32,999 for the top-end 12GB RAM variant. The handset delivers respectable value for money, although you can find options that deliver superior performance and cutting-edge features within the segment. The POCO X6 Pro (review), for instance, delivers a class-leading performance that can handle almost everything thrown at it with ease. The handset might appeal to power users. Additionally, most of the competitors, if not all, come with a charger bundled in the box. However, if you are looking for a capable, no-frills smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy M55 5G emerges as a strong contender with its vibrant Super AMOLED Plus display, good camera performance in daylight, and respectable battery life. Moreover, its extended software support compared to its competitors ensures that the M55 5G will remain relevant until at least 2028.

My opinion on the Samsung Galaxy M55 5G is mixed. We are getting Samsung’s OneUI, but with bloatware and ads. We are getting a smaller battery, but the backup remains very good. We are getting a slightly less detailed display (on paper), but the quality is still great. We are not getting an Exynos chip, but the Qualcomm Snapdragon is also 2 years old. After the Samsung Galaxy S series and the Galaxy A-series, it is now time for Samsung to refresh the more common Samsung Galaxy M series of smartphones. With the new Samsung Galaxy M35 and Galaxy M55, Samsung aims to make its budget-centric devices more premium. The Samsung Galaxy M55, which is the bigger sibling among the two, comes with quite a few new things, but misses out on stuff at the same time. But does it make sense as an upgrade to the Samsung Galaxy M54 or has Samsung just launched the Samsung Galaxy M55 for the sake of it? Let’s find out.

The Samsung Galaxy M55s had a very controversial launch since it brought nothing new to the table, except for the change in design, but it launched at a lower price than its predecessor and essentially replaced the original model. Having the same specs as the original M55 gave it a bad name, but it’s actually a decent phone now due to the lower price tag. The display, memory, sound, camera, and even the fingerprint sensors are quite good, just like how it was on the original Galaxy M55. Not to mention, we really loved the new design, and it feels quite good in the hand. It’s a decent phone on its own but made controversial due to its link to the Galaxy M55.
