97% Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra review: the best Android smartphone?
Source: Root Nation English EN→zh-CN
Let’s start with the positive aspects of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra – and there are many of them. The most obvious advantage, in addition to the chic design and excellent build quality, is the incredible screen – there is no better one at the moment. After the first updates, the cameras are now also top-notch, and the two levels of optical zoom, color reproduction, and white balance, in particular, have been further improved. When it comes to video, Samsung is ahead of the game. In addition, the smartphone has high-performance hardware, a huge amount of storage and, to top it off, a stylus with great features – powerful tech. Perhaps the flagship device should have been equipped with a larger battery to fully utilize the performance of the processor or the enormous brightness of the display. But, in general, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra lives up to its name – it’s extremely good. Unfortunately, it is also very expensive. The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is a multifunctional device that provides a great user experience and is an extremely useful tool for work and play, in particular thanks to the S Pen stylus. I’m sure that buying this flagship will be a good investment of your money. The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is a feature-rich device that delivers a great user experience and is an extremely useful tool for work and play, thanks in particular to the S Pen stylus. I'm sure that buying this flagship will be a great investment.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra long-term review
Source: GSM Arena English EN→zh-CN
At this point, it's no secret that this reviewer has enjoyed his time with the Galaxy S22 Ultra. In the months of using the phone, he rarely missed any feature. There is hardly a better phone in 2022. Sure, there's a certain iPhone with better synthetic performance and battery life, but it can't do what this Android can do - download a torrent, sign a PDF file and mail it back, run any two apps side by side, etc. Sure, there are other great Android phones that do many individual things very well. But there's no single phone that does all the things the Galaxy S22 Ultra does. Now, is the Galaxy S22 Ultra still worth it in late 2022, just a few short months before the Galaxy S23 Ultra comes along? Our answer is a resounding yes - if the price is right. It doesn't make sense to pay more than €1,000 for the Galaxy S22 Ultra. You can find one for less than €900 brand new, possibly less if you opt for a retailer on eBay. That's the beauty of a phone that's nearly a year old - there are a lot of deals around. However, even at a year old, the Galaxy S22 Ultra still commands a premium over some of its competitors. You could get a Pixel 7 Pro for around €900, while a OnePlus 10 Pro would set you back merely €700. Those are both great phones. Then, if you want the best Samsung phone, you could wait a few months and get a Galaxy S23 Ultra.

100% Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra review: Six months on and this is still the most complete smartphone of 2022
Source: Irish Mirror English EN→zh-CN
Since it arrived in February, Samsung Galaxy Ultra 22 has been the phone every other Android device has to beat in 2022. And six months later, none of them have. OPPO Find X5 Pro comes agonisingly close - which is great from a relative newcomer - and there have been excellent flagships released by OnePlus and Xiaomi too but none of these competitors' devices ticks as many boxes as the S22 Ultra which is the most complete smartphone of 2022. You get a breath-taking display, premium build, blazing fast performance, impressive battery life, cameras that are among the best on a smartphone – and the unique and incredible S Pen. S22 Ultra is not perfect. No smartphone ever is. I’d like to see much faster wired and wireless charging, for example. But it sure is close to perfect. All of this tech goodness comes at a high price, but you'll not be disappointed.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Review – Best Android Flagship of 2022
Source: Cashify English EN→zh-CN
There is no doubt that the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is the most capable and versatile Android phone available. The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra has a lot going for it, including the fact that it has a premium appearance, a WQHD+ AMOLED display that is of the highest quality, and cameras that are among the best in the market. The Galaxy S22 Ultra’s refined software and robust hardware combine for a premium experience making up for a great flagship device. It’s safe to say that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset can handle pretty much anything you throw at it. The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is the device to get if you are looking for the best Android phone overall, as it excels in practically every category – if you don’t mind the high price tag.

This Galaxy S22 Ultra review proves that Samsung knows what power users want. This new beast adds the Galaxy Note's best feature while also offering a ton of other upgrades. Yup, there's an S Pen built in, but there's a lot more going on with this flagship as Samsung tries to top our best phone list. For starters, the S Pen is more responsive, as Samsung made it 70% faster with less latency. The display is also brighter and more colorful than anything we've tested, and you get faster 45W charging. Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Review: The Best Android Phone?
Source: Know Your Mobile English EN→zh-CN
The only potential issue with getting the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra right now is that there are plenty of cheaper alternatives available that, in many ways, are just as good. I’m talking, of course, about phones like the OnePlus 10 Pro, the soon-to-be-announced Nothing Phone 1, and the iPhone 13 Pro Max. And these phones are ALL cheaper than Samsung’s Galaxy S22 Ultra. And if you’re on a tighter budget this year, like a lot of people, it might be prudent to look at those options first. If you don’t care about the cost and know what you want, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is by far and away the most complete, functional, and well-appointed Android phone you can get right now. It does everything you’ll ever need, and it does it all exceptionally well. Plus, it comes with an S-Pen too, so you can use it to take notes and even learn how to draw using the PenUp application. From a raw performance perspective, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is a powerhouse, easily the best in the business. If you want the best of the best, and you want an Android phone, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is easily the best buy right now.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra review: Is it still the best Android has to offer?
Source: Soycincau English EN→zh-CN
Do I think it’s worth it though? For me personally, at almost six grand for the top end model, it’s a little tough to recommend. Since the Galaxy S22 Ultra debuted in Malaysia, there’s been a plethora of other Snapdragon 8 Gen 1-powered Android flagships available, with everything from the RM4,999 Oppo Find X5 Pro and the RM4,199 OnePlus 10 Pro to much more value-oriented options such as the Realme GT 2 Pro at RM2,999, the Xiaomi 12 at RM2,899 or the Poco F4 GT at just RM2,299. If you simply want pure performance and don’t necessarily need all the extra stuff like great cameras and a stylus, these lower priced options may be worth a look. With all that being said, for many Malaysians who don’t want to make the switch to an Apple iPhone, Samsung’s flagships are almost always worth it—even if it means paying a little bit of a ‘Samsung tax’ for it over rival Chinese Android smartphones. That little extra goes a long way too, with Samsung for example guaranteeing at least four Android OS upgrades, more than any other in the Android scene.

Samsung’s Galaxy S22 Ultra is boring
Source: Mobile Syrup English EN→zh-CN
Overall, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is a beast of a phone, and both my girlfriend and I miss its 10x zoom lens a lot. However, that’s the issue with the S22 Ultra. It offers so many features that it’s bound to make people want it, but it’s also costly. If money is no object, this is fine, but the device doesn’t cut any corners, so there’s not a price to performance sweet spot with the S22 Ultra — it costs the most and does the most. It’s smart that Samsung decided to revitalize its Note line of smartphones under the guise of an S22 Ultra, but at the same time, this also makes the device feel boring because it looks like the Note 20 Ultra and acts like and S21 Ultra.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra (Snapdragon) Battery test
Source: DxOMark English EN→zh-CN
The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra (Snapdragon) comes up with impressive specs, including a large 5000 mAh battery. But even with a big battery, it still struggled with autonomy, delivering less than 2 days in moderate usage. The main issue appeared to be idle management, where the device consumed a lot even though it was not performing much—and when the battery reached 5%, it would just collapse. Compared with other phones in our database, the Samsung scored poorly in autonomy and efficiency, but delivered a decent charging experience. The new 45W charger has brought with it a slight improvement, shortening the charging time by 5 minutes, compared with the 25W charger. Although this new adapter is much more efficient, its residual consumption when the smartphone isn’t plugged in is about 5 times higher than the previous charger (but remains average compared with our database). Efficiency is not a strong point because of the phone’s high discharge currents in almost all our use cases.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra (Snapdragon) Display
Source: DxOMark English EN→zh-CN
The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra (Snapdragon) display provided an all-round good experience in all our tested use cases. The screen’s brightness was always high enough to easily read and view content, particularly outdoors in the sunlight, a condition that is usually difficult for displays. The web browsing experience was smooth during scrolling. But as good as the brightness was, the photo rendering was degraded under sunlight because of the device’s Vision Booster feature, which would cause colors to shift, making them seem very flat and oversaturated. In indoor and night viewing, an orange cast was visible when viewing photos. The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra (Snapdragon) display quality really stood out when watching movies. The screen brightness was good and skin-tone rendering was accurate, as were dark tones in HDR10 content.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Dual Sim
Source: GSM Choice English EN→zh-CN
Coming back to the reviewed phone... in the Galaxy S22 Ultra model, I undoubtedly liked the design, the water resistance of the housing and general durability should also be praised, I also have no complaints about the interface and smooth operation of this phone. The display amazed me in all respects, photos and videos are also top shelf, although I'm not entirely satisfied with the macro and background blurring. The disadvantages include a faulty fingerprint reader under the screen - this one, unfortunately, fails very often, especially in frost at lower temperatures, or when our hands are wet. The speakers could also be better, but let's say they are enough. It's a pity that there is no minijack slot or space for a microSD card. I was not particularly satisfied with the battery performance, but here I understand that it is a really cool smartphone, and inserting a larger battery would increase the weight and perhaps the dimensions of the housing.

90% Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra review: The brightest star in the Android galaxy
Source: Gadgets Now English EN→zh-CN
Has Samsung managed to find the right balance between the Galaxy S series and Galaxy Note series with the Galaxy S22 Ultra? The Galaxy S22 Ultra is undoubtedly an S series smartphone, but with the Galaxy Note's heart. Which is a good thing by the way. The whole Galaxy Note-like symmetrical design, dedicated S Pen holder, points out toward the Galaxy Note. But at the same time, the powerful camera, top-notch specifications represent the Galaxy S lineup. It is not about how many features does the Galaxy S22 Ultra inherits from the Galaxy Note lineup. It’s about the smartphone that does it all, no strings attached. If you want powerful performance and a camera phone, the Galaxy S22 Ultra can do that for you. If you want a professional-looking device with features to support it, the Galaxy S22 Ultra can do that as well. It is a premium device with impressive camera quality. The Galaxy S22 Ultra will offer you whatever you are looking for in a smartphone and it is undoubtedly the ‘brightest star in the galaxy’.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra (Snapdragon) Camera test
Source: DxOMark English EN→zh-CN
We’ve already tested the camera of the Exynos-powered international version of the Samsung flagship Galaxy S22 Ultra. In this review, we take a close look at the version that is marketed primarily in North America and China and uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. Camera specs between the two versions are identical, offering a primary module with 108MP sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide camera and two dedicated tele cameras. Medium-range tele range is covered by a 3x lens with 10MP resolution. For longer distances a 10x periscope-style module is on board. In video mode, the S22 Ultra is capable of recording 8K footage at 24 frames per second or 4K resolution files at up to 60 fps. With such an impressive spec sheet the S22 Ultra competes with heavy weights such as the Apple iPhone 13 Pro, Huawei P50 Pro or Xiaomi 12 Pro. Let’s see how it did in the DXOMARK Camera test.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra (Snapdragon) Audio test
Source: DxOMark English EN→zh-CN
Samsung, which released its flagship S22 series in February, is known for releasing phones with different chipsets in different parts of the world. For the most part, the audio specs stay the same across its flagship models. The release of the Galaxy S22 Ultra (Snapdragon) is no different. Like on the Galaxy S22 Ultra (Exynos), the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra (Snapdragon) has two speakers producing “surround sound with Dolby Atmos technology.” Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital Plus are included. We put the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra (Snapdragon) through our rigorous DXOMARK Audio test suite to see whether Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chipset made any difference over Samsung’s own Exynos chip when it came to audio performance. We measured its performance both at recording sound using its built-in microphones, and at playing audio back through its speakers.

Galaxy S22 Ultra review two months later: Is the Galaxy Note still alive?
Source: Sam Mobile English EN→zh-CN
It’s been a couple of months since the Galaxy S22 Ultra became the daily driver for a few members of the SamMobile team, and today, we’re taking a look back at our time spent with Samsung’s latest flagship. How is the Galaxy S22 Ultra, now that the honeymoon period is over? Does the new S Pen Galaxy flagship hold up to our positive first impressions? You can find out more in our Galaxy S22 Ultra 2-month review video below (or keep reading for a taste). The one issue with the Galaxy S22 Ultra — and the rest of the S22 series — is that the Snapdragon vs. Exynos debate continues, and for good reasons. Your mileage may vary, but the Exynos-powered Galaxy S22 series has had some optimization issues, and although it’s come a long way over the past few months, it’s not perfect. Nevertheless, our Galaxy S22 Ultra performed admirably whenever the underlying firmware issues didn’t crop up.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra review
Source: Android Guys English EN→zh-CN
Samsung is the king of the Android market and the S22 Ultra is the biggest and boldest phone the company offers. With a gorgeous screen, S-Pen, and great software tweaks, the S22 Ultra nails everything it tries to be. Whether that experience is for you is the big question surrounding this big phone. If you don’t want the massive screen size or need pen input, there are countless other options better suited for you in Samsung’s lineup. If you answered yes to needing those high-end options, then the S22 Ultra can be purchased from our friends at AT&T right now. Approved trade-ins can get the price down to a crazy $12 per month at the moment as well. If you prefer to avoid payments, then you can snag the S22 Ultra at full retail for $1,200 bucks.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Review: The New “Ultra” Standard For Flagships
Source: Lowyat.net English EN→zh-CN
As I mentioned at the start of this review, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is “first” in several regards. It marks the first time that the Korean brand has decided to integrate its Galaxy S series with its Note series. In conjunction with that, the integration also makes the S22 Ultra the first in the series to ship out with a built-in S Pen, thus marking the end of a decade-old lineup. For individuals like me that are using the Note series, my experience with it can be summed in two words: familiar territory. The S22 Ultra is also the first Galaxy S flagship where Samsung decided to ship the phone out with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, rather than its own RDNA2-powered Exynos 2200 chipset. While the brand has mentioned that the choice ultimately boils down to a production issue, it is, in my humble opinion, a sound decision, given its tried and tested performance metrics. At a starting SRP of RM5099, though, the S22 Ultra isn’t the cheapest flagship smartphone currently on the market and as you can see, you are spoilt for choice.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Review — It’s big, it’s beautiful and very capable but hasn’t ticked every box
Source: Ausdroid English EN→zh-CN
Provided you’re not a heavy user who will stress the battery heavily, that isn’t going to be an issue for you. The device does support fast charging, but in our testing, it’s not dramatically faster than a standard charger. The upshot of all of this is that the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is a very good phone, with some annoyances that will stop some users from buying it. After having had it in my pocket for a few weeks, I can honestly say it’s a really good experience. Whether or not it’s an experience worth $2,000 or not I’m not sure; in honesty, I don’t see any phone being worth two grand… If you’re keen though, you can get your hands on one through carriers and retail channels either online or in-store.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Review
Source: Ubergizmo English English EN→zh-CN
The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra carries on the legacy of the much-loved Galaxy Note series. For Galaxy Note 20 Ultra owners, this is a sensible upgrade. They’ll find everything they loved about their phone, including a familiar form-factor (and more!), updated with Samsung’s best camera offering and today’s best chip and wireless technologies. Galaxy S21 Ultra owners can mostly stay put for now, unless they want the S-Pen experience or a faster computing platform for improved gaming or video recording. Much of the improvements are incremental, and it would be understandable to wait for the next upgrade cycle if you already own last year’s best from Samsung. The Galaxy S22 Ultra is a fantastic and well-rounded high-end smartphone that many already claim is America’s best 2022 Android smartphone. That could be true, but it’s too early to reach that conclusion. Many competitors at this price level might have one extra strength here and there, but the Galaxy S22 Ultra is excellent at everything, and that could be a sway factor for no-compromise users.

The Galaxy S22 Ultra is a great flagship Android phone from Samsung and it is one that Samsung has pushed past the boundaries on how it can make a better succeeding flagship, though my experience has no doubt been plagued by the storage variant I’ve been provided and it is one that you should definitely skip, this is the default Android flagship you should be looking at if you are looking to replace your Galaxy Note, or simply want a camera system that just works. As of now, it’s hard to imagine what the next Galaxy S phone could be.

Don't Buy The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra It's A MESS!

A warning to potential buyers. I wouldn't buy the Galaxy S22 Ultra right now. My EU Exynos 2200 version and nothing but a disaster so far even on the new throttling fix patch. Samsung has a lot of work to get this phone up to an acceptable level the price demands. If you have the S22 Ultra Exynos or S22 Ultra please let us know if you're experiencing issues? Exynos or SD8Gen1 version.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra second opinion review: Perfectly boring
Source: Android Authority English EN→zh-CN
This second opinion review might make it seem as if I dislike the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. I really want to send home that that is not the case. It’s a beautiful, powerful, and incredibly capable phone. It’s going to get a whopping four Android versions and five years of security patches — better than Android’s owner provides on its phones. The Galaxy S22 Ultra is great today and will continue to be great years from now. It earns the “Ultra” moniker, and all the praise and acclaim it received in our original review was thoroughly deserved. Likewise, if you’ve never owned a top Samsung flagship before, this absolutely represents the best of the Galaxy Note and Galaxy S in a single, stunning package. However, for those that are intimately familiar with Samsung’s last few top dogs, it’s a bit… boring. It’s barely an upgrade over last year’s model and its overall design is borrowed from a phone that’s about to reach its second birthday. If you own a Galaxy S21 Ultra — or even a Galaxy Note 20 Ultra — upgrading to the Galaxy S22 Ultra likely won’t give you any of that “new phone excitement.”

The Galaxy S22 Ultra improves on an already very accomplished package with the S21 Ultra. However, with flagship alternatives from the likes of OnePlus, Oppo and Google offering more for less, as well as Samsung’s own line of compelling foldables to consider, the S22 Ultra is difficult to recommend to all but the most diehard of Note fans.

90% Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra review: The power user's best friend
Source: Android Authority English EN→zh-CN
Samsung has no doubt put together a powerful pocket machine in the Galaxy S22 Ultra. This phone ticks off most of the boxes when it comes to specs, such as the latest processor, the highest megapixel camera, and of course the built-in S Pen and all its functionality. Further, the phone packs just about the best software suite this side of the Googleplex and the best support guarantee of any Android phone. It ships with the latest version of Android, the most recent version of One UI, and of course plenty of updated features from Samsung, such as AI-assisted night photography and real-time translations in 88 languages. The only real bummers are the average battery life and the reduced RAM on the base model. There’s one thing the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra lacks, however, and it’s a big one: soul. Samsung clearly took the best facets of its Note 20 Ultra and S21 Ultra and squeezed them together until the Galaxy S22 Ultra came out. The S22 Ultra recycles design elements, spec elements, and even much of its S Pen feature set and yet calls itself a brand new phone.

90% Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra review
Source: Tom's Guide English EN→zh-CN
The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is easily the most powerful and versatile Android phone this side of a foldable. This is the best display we've tested in a phone, and Samsung's cameras are much improved, especially in low light. Plus, the powerful zoom continues to be hard to beat. Is the Galaxy S22 Ultra worth $300 more than the Google Pixel 6 Pro? That's not an easy call. The S22's Ultra delivers a brighter screen, longer battery life and a faster chip, but while the S Pen is faster and smoother than before, not everyone appreciates that perk. And the Pixel 6 Pro's camera quality is better in some instances. Then there's the iPhone 13 Pro Max, which is faster than the S22 Ultra, lasts longer on a charge and delivers better photo quality (with the exception of low light shots). Still, I prefer the sleeker design of the Galaxy S22 Ultra and more powerful zoom. Overall, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is the best premium Android phone, and it's very close to being the best phone period.

90% Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra review: Reintroducing the Galaxy Note
Source: Android Central English EN→zh-CN
Bottom line: The Note is back! This time, with a different name. The Galaxy S22 Ultra is the cutting-edge phone you expect from Samsung, with incredible cameras, super-fast charging, a gorgeous display that's easier to see in sunlight, and the return of the S Pen. It's hard to overlook the fact that the price actually went up compared to last year, there's no 45W charger in the box, and the camera still struggles with some moving subjects.

In previous years, I would safely say that the Ultra variant can be skipped if you owned the Ultra model of the year prior. In the case of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, it’s actually worth upgrading over the Galaxy S21 Ultra for one simple reason; built-in S Pen with full functionalities. Sure, there are other upgrades as well but this is basically a brand new Galaxy Note, no matter what it’s called, and you still get to enjoy flagship hardware, cameras, a large vibrant display, and good battery life. The only reason to avoid it is if the S Pen doesn’t matter much to you or if your lifestyle is already integrated into the Apple ecosystem.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Review: The Best Note?
Source: Pocketnow English
I think it's fair to say that I've had a Galaxy Note in my Pocket for the past 10 years. Fine, 9 if we were to consider that I laughed at the first one, but you know you did too. It was hard to even consider such a large phone, at a time when one-handed use dominated smartphone design.. And yet, have you noticed how that quickly faded away after? Thing is, ever since Generation 2, and even through the fiery times of the Galaxy Note 7, this lineup quickly went from mockery, to the one product I would always go back to, regardless of what phone I was reviewing. I know for some, the appeal of this phone was its size and for others the endurance, but for me it was actually what it could do. See, even if stylus input wasn't new, most companies got it all wrong before the Note. For Palm and Pocket PC it was all about navigation, while Samsung followed on WACOM's ideal of a pen that could either blend with existing content, or help you create it. Now, what's ironic is that this isn't a video about a Galaxy Note. Sadly it seems that lineup is officially dead.

The Samsung S22 Ultra’s superior user experience is now aided by slick and helpful S Pen support which, when added to its especially vibrant, immersive display, solid sound and remarkable photography features presents the most compelling case yet for abandoning the Apple cart – and although we hope that Samsung is fiercely working away behind the scenes to glean a little more stamina out of the battery pack (or feature a completely new one next time around), for overall performance, the Android realm certainly has a new frontrunner.

The Galaxy S21 Ultra (Review) was the first phone outside the Galaxy Note series to support an S Pen, and looking back, the writing on the wall could not have been clearer. The inevitable merger of Samsung's Galaxy Note and Galaxy S series is now complete with the Galaxy S22 Ultra, making it. the ultimate Samsung smartphone. It brings together the best camera capabilities of the Galaxy S series and the productivity allure of the Note series. The Galaxy S22 Ultra sports powerful hardware and polished software that together deliver a flagship experience. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC can handle pretty much anything you throw at it. Samsung has maintained its lead in terms of camera performance over most of the competition. If you are a heavy user, you might notice the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC getting warm under load. The high price will also be a deterrent for many fans. The Galaxy S22 Ultra will appeal to a wider audience than its predecessor might have, and since there is no phone in the market with the same feature set, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is pretty much unopposed.

So should you buy the Galaxy S22 Ultra? That's a bit of a tough one. The S22 Ultra does not feel like an S series phone, it feels like a Note. So for Note users and those who appreciate the S Pen, well, it's the newest and pretty much only option in town. And a super powerful one at that! Still, loyal fans will notice the company stepping away from things it used to value just a couple of years ago, things like the microSD card slot for once. But our big concern has got to be the battery situation: we don't know why, but this giant battery is not holding up all too well so far. We also have a love-hate relationship with the camera that can both disappoint with the main shooter and its often bleak colors, but can just as well wow us with the incredible zoom cameras. At the end of the day, though, this is the one Android phone that we are certain Samsung will update and polish. All else: the refined design, the stunning display, the S Pen, powerful processor, faster charging, these are all great things. So yes, the S22 Ultra gets our thumbs up

Is the S22 Ultra the better Nightography cameraphone? - Check out these Nightography photo and video samples
Source: Tech Nave English EN→zh-CN
Overall, based on our experiences and from the samples you can see above, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is one of the better cameraphones, especially if you intend to use it for night photography or videography. So, in answer to the question, “Is the S22 Ultra the better Nightography cameraphone?” our short answer would be Yes. Of course, this still means that you have to frame the photo or video properly. While the Super Steady mode does almost get rid of shake, our alignment was still a bit at an off angle, so if you’re going to use the S22 Ultra to record video at night, either make sure the alignment is correct before recording or use a gimbal or stabilizer. If you’re interested in getting the S22 Ultra for your own Nightography shots or videos then there’s still various freebies that come with the phone if you order before 31 March 2022. The 8GB RAM + 128GB storage version starts from RM5099 going all the way up to RM5899 for the 12GB RAM + 512GB storage variant. These freebies include a free Samsung Galaxy Watch4 (40mm) and a Galaxy X Lamy Safari Twin Pen so do check it out.

Source: India Today English EN→zh-CN
The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is the most complete Samsung phone ever. It has the best-in-class display, premium built, second to none camera performance and a flagship chip. The S Pen is more than a value add. If you can look beyond the poor battery life and overall huge size, the phone hardly disappoints. There is hardly anything it can’t do. Yet, it’s not everyone's phone. There is a premium attached to the Galaxy S22 Ultra and there are plenty of features a normal user may never use. How many times will you click a picture at 100x zoom in a week? Or, how many 8K videos do you plan to shoot on this phone? Will you actually use the S Pen on a daily basis? These are some of the questions you need to ask before spending on the S22 UIltra. If you are planning to make the most of these features or were genuinely waiting for the new Samsung flagship, then this one is worth having a look at.

The Galaxy S22 Ultra is expensive, but it’s also an excellent flagship phone that now gives both Galaxy S fans and Galaxy Note fans what they want. There’s no doubt about the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra being one of the best all-rounder phones money can buy today. With its solid package of a reliable and supreme user experience, tremendously good cameras, a stunning display, and a good battery life, the S22 Ultra doesn’t disappoint with the basics. The S Pen is certainly a value addition feature this year and if you need a stylus on your phone daily, this is the phone for you. The luxurious design and build quality easily makes the Galaxy S22 Ultra the winner for us. There simply is nothing like it! But is it right for you? The closest competition the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra gets is from the iPhone 13 Pro Max. The iPhone is costlier but has a more reliable set of video cameras; not to forget the unmatched longevity in terms of software support. However, for someone being neutral to both the iOS and Android ecosystems, the iPhone 13 Pro feels barebones in comparison the S22 Ultra, especially when you need to get work done quickly without the shenanigans.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra retails for Rs 1,09,999 for the 256GB storage variant, with the 512GB modelling costing Rs 1,18,999. It goes without saying that the smartphone is an expensive proposition, however, the device more than makes up for its high pricing with a gorgeous screen, capable performance, a versatile array of cameras and a note-worthy design. Furthermore, the handset ships with the S Pen that paves new ways to be productive on the fly, and even offers four years of Android upgrades too. Now, the phone’s gaming performance can be better, and the company could’ve outfitted the phone with faster wired charging speeds as well. Regardless, the S22 Ultra is greater than the sum of its parts and correspondingly, gets a vote of approval from me.

Unfortunately there’s no 3.5mm jack nor is there expandable storage so it’s best that you shell out for the largest capacity model that your pockets can afford. The top of the phone along with its left side are otherwise unadorned. At first blush, the Galaxy S22 Ultra in Burgundy is a breathtakingly beautiful phone that looks and feels exceptionally premium in keeping with its status as the most powerful phone in Samsung’s current 2022 line-up. They combine excellent design with a stunning screen, powerful performance and one of the best camera systems you’ll find on a smartphone. Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra First Impressions: Is it ‘Note’-worthy?
Source: NDTV Gadgets English EN→zh-CN
Samsung ships the S22 Ultra with OneUI 4.1, based on Android 12. My unit was running the February 2022 Android security patch. Samsung has committed to four years of OS upgrades and five years of security updates, which is a step in the right direction. In my brief time using the S22 Ultra, I found its performance to be snappy, and if you have been a long-time Samsung user, you'll find the UI very familiar. The build quality of the S22 Ultra seems impressive and the camera specs show a lot of promise. It seems as though Samsung has combined the best of the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note series to make this smartphone, pretty much offering the best of both worlds. Prices have gone up compared to the Galaxy S21 Ultra (Review), but the S22 Ultra has a lot of new capabilities and still manages to undercut the Apple iPhone 13 Pro (Review) series by a considerable margin. I will reserve my final judgement of the S22 Ultra's performance, cameras, battery life, and more until I finish testing it, so stay tuned to Gadgets 360 for the full review, coming soon.

Galaxy S22 Ultra review: Any more perfect and it'd be an iPhone 13 Pro Max
Source: Zdnet.com English EN→zh-CN
One reason I moved from the Z Fold 3 to the iPhone 13 Pro Max was battery life, and the iPhone continues to beat the S22 Ultra in the ability to continue working well beyond one full day of heavy usage. The S22 Ultra lasts longer than the Z Fold 3, but at times I can watch the remaining battery percentage tick off at a regular cadence. The S Pen is very well supported on the S22 Ultra, and while it is mainly useful for quick notes on such a small, non-tablet display, I find myself using it to navigate around the phone, scroll through long lists or webpages, and prefer to use the S Pen for a better overall interactive experience instead of using my finger on the display. The S22 Ultra is clearly the best Android smartphone available today, and if you have an old phone to trade-in or took advantage of the pre-order specials, then I'm confident you will be very happy with your expensive new phone. There is still some room for improvement, and I look forward to future Samsung phones with an integrated S Pen.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra review - Yes, it’s a very Note-worthy successor
Source: Tech Nave English EN→zh-CN
Overall, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra looks and feels awesome and in terms of features and performance will beat any Android phone out there in nearly every category. We would have liked it more if it actually looked like an S22 series smartphone but then, perhaps this is Samsung’s way of answering to their Galaxy Note fans who haven’t seen a new Galaxy Note phone for at least 1 year and a half. On that note, I have to say that the S22 Ultra is best for those Galaxy Note users looking for an upgrade from the Note 20 Ultra and not so much for those S21 Ultra users from last year. The fact that the S22 Ultra comes in at RM5099 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage version reinforces this conclusion, but if you’re already going to get a phone for RM5K, then you’re better off paying more for the 12GB RAM + 512GB storage version at RM5899. If you are interested in getting the S22 Ultra there's still some time to cash in on all the bonuses as the pre-order time ends on 3 March 2022.

The Snapdragon Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is way better than the Exynos
Source: XDA Developers English EN→zh-CN
In closing, the Snapdragon Galaxy S22 Ultra and the Exynos Galaxy S22 Ultra are two entirely different smartphones in my eyes. When you buy the latest Samsung Galaxy S series smartphone, you’re buying an entirely different smartphone depending on the region that you live in. In nearly any other smartphone series, purchasing a device in one country would not mean that it would perform exceedingly better than the same device bought in another country, but that’s exactly the dichotomy that Samsung has created.

You might not think the kind of person who needs to sign a lot of contracts on the go … would be the same type of person who plays high-end mobile games for hours on end … or the type of person who sees a tugboat going by and wonders “hey, just how epic is the Captain’s beard?” But as nine years of Galaxy Note will attest, that person does exist (and until foldables stole my heart, I was one of them). And even though Samsung changed the product name for 2022, the company has reaffirmed its commitment to that special customer with the most capable Android phone you can buy (short of the Galaxy Fold series). 85% Samsung Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra review: A slot more superior
Source: Hardware Zone English EN→zh-CN
The Samsung Galaxy S22 series devices mark a good start to what 2022 true flagship-grade Android smartphones will look like. They are operationally fluid, with amazing displays, impressive performance, touting reasonable uptimes for their respective sizes. Whichever model you choose, the Galaxy S22 series phones are generally a joy to use. They also set the bar to what this year’s phones should be – features intact, with high-quality hardware and software. At S$1,178 (128GB Galaxy S22), S$1,468 (128GB Galaxy S22+), and S$1,858 (256GB Galaxy S22 Ultra), it’s good that Samsung kept the prices largely stagnant for new generation devices. These phones not only offer a complete package, but they are also good enough for Galaxy Z Fold3 / Z Flip3 / Galaxy S21 Ultra users to consider trading in if they want to return to a traditional smartphone user experience without losing flagship quality. For Galaxy Note fans who have been holding out, the Galaxy S22 Ultra finally marks a proper direct upgrade with the latest hardware and the most responsive S Pen ever..

90% Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra review
Source: GSM Arena English EN→zh-CN
The Galaxy S22 Ultra is in such a market segment that the concept of value doesn't necessarily apply to it and affect purchasing decisions. So the €1250/$1200 price is little more than just a number. But the Ultra does, in fact, provide a lot of value. An upmarket phone with a stylus is essentially a Samsung-exclusive offering - competing efforts from Apple, Google, Xiaomi, Oppo, or Huawei simply do not exist. This is the latest and most powerful one and it can carry that S Pen inside it unlike the Fold or last year's Ultra, so it's unique even in Samsung's present realm too. It's not as clear cut when it comes to the camera, where we could come up with potential alternatives - as good, or maybe a touch superior in this or that. But there's no denying that the S22 Ultra is a superbly capable all-rounded cameraphone, easily Samsung's best yet. It's properly good when it comes to the fundamentals too, unsurprisingly.

90% Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra review: A mostly portable powerhouse
Source: Android Police English EN→zh-CN
If you're spending $1,200 on a phone, it's not because you need it. You're doing it because you want the best—premium materials, industry-leading update support, sub-pixel-level OLED perfection, and a stylus if you feel like it. I could have droned on twice as long about all the things this phone can do, but I still wouldn't be able to hit it all. While I wouldn't say the Galaxy S22 Ultra has the best camera experience, it's at least competitive with the Pixel. Whereas Google goes for ease of use and AI magic, Samsung gives you more advanced hardware and all the settings you could ever want. That's going to appeal to some smartphone buyers. And you can feel safe buying an S22 Ultra even if you care about what version of Android your phone runs. Samsung is promising to keep this phone updated even longer than Google updates the Pixels. OS updates might be slower to arrive down the line, but five years of security patches is a great deal if you're the type to keep a phone for the long haul. The S22 Ultra is the most refined piece of mobile hardware you can buy running Android today.

85% Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Review: Note Again
Source: Mobile Syrup English EN→zh-CN
I like that Samsung merged its S and Note lines. Two flagship launches per year were unnecessary and a bit messy. Now we have the S series for the reliable flagships you can count on, and the foldable Z series for those looking for something new. Personally, I'm more of a fan of the Z series as I really like foldable devices, but if you're looking for a no-nonsense flagship, the S22 Ultra is a great choice as long as the price isn’t a concern. Samsung’s Galaxy S22 Ultra starts at $1,649 for the 8GB of RAM/128GB of storage version. This pricing seems over the top considering last year's S21 Ultra was priced the same and offered 12GB of RAM. That said, with the S22 Ultra, you now get the S Pen but for those like myself that don’t find the S Pen that useful, the trade-off isn't worth it. This is even more frustrating when you consider the price of Google’s Pixel 6 Pro, which starts at $1,199 and offers 12GB of RAM/128GB of storage. Currently, Samsung is offering a deal that gets users double the storage for a lower cost.

The Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G may have the best camera we’ve used on a phone
Source: Htxt Africa English EN→zh-CN
A word needs to be mentioned about the display of the S22 Ultra too. The QuadHD+ resolution of 3088×1440 and 500ppi translate to a nuanced on-screen preview of images taken. It means you don’t need to look at images on a secondary device to gauge how good they are, as the display does the camera app justice. While it can be argued that a phone that starts at R28 999 (RRP) should deliver a superb camera experience, past iterations of Ultra have felt like overkill and often did not differentiate itself from the other models in the series. For the Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G, things definitely feel different. We will share our thoughts in full next week with our review, but this device is shaping up as a phone that could actually live up to the Ultra moniker, instead of just being extra.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G Review: Hitting All the Right Notes
Source: Unbox English EN→zh-CN
We’ve been loving the week or so we’ve spent with this phone and crafting our S22 Ultra 5G review. We can confidently say that this is truly the best of the best Samsung has to offer in terms of sheer muscle, camera prowess, and feature set. A Note in spirit, the inclusion of the S-Pen could make this a great choice for those who may need to scribble down notes or sign documents on the fly. This isn’t exactly a make-or-break feature but condensing down their product line is a good play in our book. The biggest consideration here is definitely its price tag. While you can snag the base model of the Ultra at Php 68,990 that’s still a rather steep price to pay; even more so if you want to max out on RAM and storage at Php 72,990 for the 12GB/256GB and Php 80,990 for the 12GB/512GB variant. Of course, you can always snag the Ultra through your local telco of choice. For those who aren’t willing to shell out the dough for the added features and S-Pen though, the S22 and S22+ still make a formidable choice if you want an S series device.

90% Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra review: All the phone you’ll need for years
Source: Digital Trends English EN→zh-CN
Unquestionably, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is the most multipurpose smartphone you can buy today, and regardless of what you want to do with your phone today, tomorrow, or in two years time, its astonishing ability and varied feature set will have you covered. There’s real value in buying a phone so capable, as although the initial outlay for the Galaxy S22 Ultra is high, there won’t be any real need to replace it for the foreseeable future. The evidence is there in our comparisons between it, the Galaxy S21 Ultra, and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. Upgrading to the S22 Ultra from either of these is unnecessary. Because the three are still so close in ability, that’s unlikely to drastically change this time next year either, and as the Galaxy S22 Ultra combines what’s great about both these phones, expect it to be even longer-lasting.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Review: I Think You Get It
Source: Droid Life English EN→zh-CN
There isn’t an easy answer for this question, sorry. I talked in the opening about whether or not this mash-up of the Note and Galaxy S lines worked and there isn’t a clear answer. I imagine there are Galaxy S purists who might not be happy that the best Galaxy S phone is now just the rebirth of the Galaxy Note. Maybe they preferred the Galaxy S styling and lack of a dedicated S Pen, where you get a touch more simplicity in a still quite-advanced package. Then on the flipside, there will be Note lovers who have got to be so happy that their favorite line of phones is back after a year of being pushed into foldables only. And so that’s where this becomes a conversation starter. Do you want a Galaxy Note device? If you do and feel it’s time to upgrade, then hell yeah, this phone will take you so far into the future. This is an excellent phone with a good camera, excellent display, great performance, best-in-class software support, a software skin that has so many features, and that added bonus of an S Pen. Do you not want a Galaxy Note device?

Source: CNet English EN→zh-CN
That might be worth an upgrade for some people, but where you really start to see a difference is when upgrading from older phones in the S10 generation and earlier. Not only does the S10 Plus run on a much older processor, but it also lacks the 108-megapixel main camera Samsung began putting in its high-end phones starting with the S20 Ultra. If you're trying to decide between the S22 Plus and S22 Ultra, the biggest considerations should be screen size, the S Pen and the camera's telephoto lens. Those are the major elements that set this phone apart from Samsung's 6.6-inch Galaxy S22 Plus. Yes, the S22 Ultra has a higher-resolution main camera lens, but the S22 Plus still takes great photos that are almost just as good as the Ultra's in some cases. All told, the S22 Ultra is the Galaxy Note upgrade we never got last year. It doesn't push things forward in a major way compared with last year's Ultra, so it's only worth upgrading if you have a phone that's at least two years old. But since Samsung isn't raising the price, I'm alright with that.

The Galaxy S22 Ultra is jam-packed. We’ve only scratched the surface in this review – touching on highlights and core specs, but if you start using the phone you’ll see for yourself, it’s bursting with features. It also checks all our smartphone boxes: Stunning screen? Check. Rich styling? Check. Fancy pen? Check. Class-leading camera… and the list goes on. There’s no getting around the fact the S22 Ultra isn’t cheap, starting at £1,149 and climbing all the way up to £1499, it’s even pricier than the iPhone 13 Pro Max. That said, if you’re an Android fan, a lover of tech and can justify the cost, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is the most fully-featured Android phone of 2022.

100% Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra review: A Note in all but name
Source: Expert Reviews English EN→zh-CN
As you can probably tell from the length of this review, there’s a heck of a lot to talk about when it comes to the Galaxy S22 Ultra. Samsung’s Note but not a Note, this year’s top-end S-series flagship stands well apart from its cheaper siblings, and it’s clear that you’re getting an awful lot more for the added cost. But, of course, that cost is a particularly potent pain point. Starting at £1,149 for the 128GB model and running all the way up to £1,499 for 1TB of storage, the S22 Ultra is the priciest (non-folding) flagship on the market. It’s £100 more than the already expensive iPhone 13 Pro Max, after all, so it really ought to be practically flawless to justify the increased expense. Except it does stumble a little along the way. The performance improvements aren’t quite as big as I would have liked and the battery life decrease is a bit worrisome. If you’ve still got last year’s S21 Ultra in your hands, you might want to hold on to it for at least a little while longer.

If you’re questioning whether it would be worth it, then you’d probably be just fine with the S22 Plus. However, this is a very big phone that won’t suit small pockets (literally and figuratively) and if you’re not a fan of heavy phones, this is a pain in the bum. I mean, in the hands. The lack of a charger at this price point may frustrate some, given that Samsung continues to provide a charger for some of their lower end models. Also, memory has been downgraded compared to S21 Ultra. To be honest, it doesn’t push things forward in a major way compared with last year’s model, so it’s only worth upgrading if you have a phone that’s at least two years old or if you want to start fresh with a Samsung flagship device.

I have to confess: While writing this review, I kept typing “the Note 22 Ultra” and had to correct my mistake at least a dozen times. Those of you who are Note fans will find this a pleasant reunion. The main upgrades for those coming from a Note 20 Ultra will be in the cameras and software, and considering that phone is about two years old by now, you’ll probably be thankful for the updated specs. But if you’ve never held a Galaxy Note before, the change could be a welcome refresh. With the addition of the S Pen, too, the S22 Ultra is, more than ever, the phone for the most demanding of power users. If you want a premium Android flagship but don't need extras like the S Pen or a second telephoto lens, you'll probably find the S22+ good enough. The only real complaints I have with the S22 Ultra are that the display and camera updates Samsung added this year are a little underwhelming. Minor gripes aside, the S22 Ultra is still an excellent phone and the best premium Android flagship you can buy.

More broadly, though, this "everything but the kitchen sink" experience has laid down a bolder dividing line in the Galaxy S22 series than we've seen in previous generations. It's hard to argue that the Galaxy S22+ isn't the best pick for most people now. Where, then, does that leave the Galaxy S22 Ultra? 2022's range feels like an intentional tidy-up of Samsung's overall smartphone portfolio: three S22 series handsets doing the work of what once would've been three Galaxy S and two Galaxy Note phones, and in the process leaving fresh space for the company's ongoing Galaxy Z Fold ambitions. Samsung hasn't been coy at predicting foldables are the future. The target audience for the Galaxy S22 Ultra, then, feels more narrow than ever. If you want the S-Pen, or the biggest display, but you don't want to go the whole-hog with a foldable, then Samsung is holding nothing back. All the same, I could understand you sitting out this particular upgrade cycle, because now more than ever it feels like we're about at the tipping point of something new.

I've carried around a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra for most of the last year as my primary phone. If you have a Galaxy S21 Ultra or a Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, I don't see a need to drop $1,200 or more right now on the S22 Ultra. Yes, you get a lot of incremental improvements with the new model, but there are no breakthrough features here. Earlier Galaxy Note owners who have been hanging around for a while, or anyone else looking for either the S Pen or the 10x zoom camera, can buy the S22 Ultra with more confidence. The S Pen is as enjoyable as ever, and the 10x camera works at least as well as the one on the S21 Ultra. The $799 Galaxy S22 sits on the opposite end of the Galaxy S spectrum in terms of size and price, but I think most folks will prefer the $999 Galaxy S22+. The S22+ offers some of the best features of the S22 Ultra, including superior connectivity, long battery life, and a super-bright screen, just without the S Pen and 10x zoom. Ultimately, it's likely better suited for more people than the small S22 or the maximalist S22 Ultra.

Maybe, but only if you can swallow the price. If you're spending $1,200 on a phone, it's not because you need it. I could have droned on twice as long about all the things this phone can do, but I still wouldn't be able to hit it all. The S22 Ultra is the most refined piece of mobile hardware you can buy running Android today. If that excites you, then maybe you should consider buying it. Try not to spend $1,200 on it, though. Samsung has very generous trade-in valuations, and even if you don't buy one during the pre-order bonanza, there will be plenty of sales down the line. With years of updates in front of it, the S22 Ultra will still be a good purchase when Samsung is looking to pump up those Q3 numbers.

100% Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra review: the ultimate flagship
Source: T3 English EN→zh-CN
The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is everything you'd expect from a flagship smartphone and more. New features like the slot for the S Pen along with the latest hardware make this perfect for productivity, while the new camera features make for incredible photos and videos. It's very expensive which will put some people off, but if you're willing to spend the money, you won't regret it.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Ongoing Review: My Sweet Valentine
Source: XDA Developers English EN→zh-CN
The Galaxy S22 Ultra feels like a phone in a class of its own. It offers the best of everything that Samsung has to offer in a regular smartphone and won’t deter anyone away from Samsung’s higher-priced Galaxy Z Fold 3. The new lowlight camera is a highlight, as is the S Pen, the gorgeous display, and the Note-like design. Whether you should buy it or not depends on what you are currently using, so check back soon for the next installment of this ongoing review and our final verdict. That said, my first impressions of the Galaxy S22 Ultra were so positive that I placed a pre-order for my own unit – this one is a review sample from Samsung – and so far, I have no plans to cancel this pre-order. I’m loving this phone enough to vote with my wallet too, and Burgundy is the right color for me in this month of Valentine’s.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra First Look
Source: Mobile Tech Review English
The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is the top dog in Samsung’s line of 2022 non-folding phones. Building on the solid foundation of the S21 Ultra, the S22 Ultra makes an important pivot with lots of Galaxy Note DNA; you could even say it’s more Note than S series, a good thing in our book. It has the classic flat top and bottom, a silo for the included S Pen and has the best of everything Samsung has to offer. Features include a 6.8” Super AMOLED QHD+ 120Hz variable refresh display, 5G, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor (Exynos 2200 outside N. America), up to 1TB storage, 4 rear cameras including a 108MP main camera and both 3x and 10x optical tele cameras. We get more exciting colors this year and as ever if you pre-order from Samsung you’ll get solid trade in values and $250 worth of free accessories. This is a first look deep dive, our full review will be out next week, as will our Samsung Galaxy S22+ review.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra review (in progress)
Source: Tom's Guide English EN→zh-CN
The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra feels like a very big departure from both the regular Galaxy S22 series and the Galaxy S21 Ultra. And that's because it very much has Galaxy Note DNA with the integrated S Pen. The reduced pen latency is also a plus. As handy as a stylus can be though, that's not going to make iPhone users or Android upgraders really take notice. It's really about the camera improvements and how Samsung's further push into computational photography can make its rivals sweat. We'll be doing in-depth photo comparisons to see just how far the Galaxy S22 Ultra has come. At $1,199, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is a very expensive flagship, but when you add in the other upgrades Samsung has made — including a brighter display and faster charging — the Ultra could very well be worth its high price. Stay tuned for all of our in-depth test results and comparisons, as well as our final Galaxy S22 Ultra review rating.

Galaxy S22 Ultra review: Samsung's new Note is pretty awesome so far
Source: Zdnet.com English EN→zh-CN
I still have a Note 10 Plus in my smartphone collection, and the S22 Ultra clearly builds on the Note line. The S Pen is one of my favorite mobile accessories, and I am thrilled to see it integrated into the S22 Ultra in 2022, especially with Bluetooth Air Actions and improved latency. Time will tell if I like the new camera array design, but Samsung is clearly advertising the camera performance so testing the cameras is one of my full review priorities. As a mobile reviewer, I have the opportunity to test out many phones and am pretty operating system agnostic, with most of last year spent with a Z Fold 3 and iPhone 12 Pro Max. The iPhone 13 Pro Max has been in my hands for just over a month, but there is a chance the S22 Ultra with the S Pen may sway me back to the Android world.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Quick Review Philippines: Note Replacement
Source: Unbox English EN→zh-CN
Samsung might have killed off the Galaxy Note, but the phablet still lives on with the Galaxy S22 Ultra, at least from what we’ve seen in this quick review of it for the Philippines. Unfortunately, the biggest hurdle for anyone looking to buy the Galaxy S22 Ultra is price. The base variant has the same price as the 256GB version of the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra last year (with half the storage), with the top-end variant getting a sticker price that’s a few thousand pesos short of Samsung’s own Z Fold3.

Samsung Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra hands-on review
Source: GSM Arena English EN→zh-CN
As Samsung's top-tier trio for 2022 (foldables excluded), the Galaxy S22s are by definition going to be great smartphones. The extent to which they excel in this or that area (or fall slightly short) will remain a mystery for a couple more weeks until review units start arriving, but a few things are clear already. For starters, the Galaxy S22 is leaning more towards being marketed as a true compact flagship, thanks to its smaller size than last year and the build to match the other two. On the flipside, the smaller battery capacity could be its most serious con. The Galaxy S22+ makes a simple trade-off then, offering longer runtimes and larger screen area at the expense of taking up more space in your pocket (though it will 'help' by freeing up an extra €/$200 worth of its contents). Another €/$200 on top will get you the Galaxy S22 Ultra and it's trying to be everything to everyone. Whether you look at it as an S21 Ultra successor, or the reincarnation of the Note lineup in all but name, it's packed to the brim with hardware.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra hands-on impressions: A Note in all but name
Source: Android Authority English EN→zh-CN
The Galaxy Note may no longer be a standalone series in Samsung’s greater lineup, but there’s no question that it lives on in the Galaxy S22 Ultra. The S22 Ultra is more Galaxy Note than Galaxy S from our perspective, no matter what Samsung calls it. In other words, power users who want an S Pen-enabled smartphone from Samsung with the best screen and top performance still have an option available to them. Those who don’t need the S Pen can find many of the same features and performance from the more compact Galaxy S22 Plus or Galaxy S22 models.

The Galaxy Note Is Dead. Long Live The Galaxy Ultra.
Source: MrMobile English
It was the phone that made big phones “a thing;" the phone that brought back the stylus; the phone that kept Samsung superfans spending top dollar year after year. But, the bigger and more powerful Samsung made its Galaxy S smartphones, the harder it was for the Galaxy Note to stand out. And once folding phones started sliding into that super-premium position (complete with an S Pen in the latest generation), well, you could say the writing was on the wall. After 2020, the Galaxy Note would be no more. But for those who still prefer their phones without a hinge; those who missed an S Pen that came with somewhere to put it; and those who prefer an assertive, squared-off design, it was too soon to say goodbye. And apparently Samsung agrees. I’m Michael Fisher and the Galaxy Note is dead. Long live the Galaxy Ultra.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra hands-on: The Galaxy Note reincarnated
Source: Engadget English EN→zh-CN
But for me, the most encouraging thing about the S22 Ultra is that after not getting a new Galaxy Note last year, Samsung’s latest top-of-the-line handset combines the best of both the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note lines. You get a massive 10x optical zoom paired with a built-in S Pen and basically non-existent input lag in a refreshingly boxy body. Not only does the S22 Ultra have the specs you want, but it looks the part too. Sure, Samsung may have skipped a year, and the name might seem a bit awkward at first, but in the S22 Ultra, the spirit of the Note is very much alive. The Galaxy S22 Ultra starts at $1,200 and is available for pre-order today with official sales slated for February 25th. And for those who pre-order, Samsung is offering a free upgrade to the next storage tier, $200 of credit on Samsung.com, and a 25 percent discount towards the purchase of a new Galaxy Tab S8.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Hands-on: The Note is back
Source: Mobile Syrup English EN→zh-CN
This year’s ‘Ultra’ Samsung S series phone takes a different form factor than the other two smartphones in the lineup. In fact, it looks a lot like the Note 20 Ultra from two years ago. Alongside a notable design, the S22 Ultra offers top-of-line specs, new camera features, an included S-Pen and a considerably more expensive price tag. I only spent an hour with the device, so these are just my initial impressions. I’ll have more on the Galaxy S22 Ultra in the coming weeks, including a detailed review of the smartphone.

So should you buy the Galaxy S22 Ultra? Well, it's definitely way too early to tell, the phone is not officially announced yet, but keep an eye on our article with the best S22 Ultra deals (Samsung already gives a $50 discount for early birds). Samsung has teased an Unpacked event where it will show the Galaxy in all its glory on February 9th, so stay tuned for that, and our detailed review is also coming soon, with camera samples and battery tests. At the end of the day, if there was one Android phone to be excited about in 2022, this new Galaxy has got to be it, it really is the all-in-one thing that showcases the best of Samsung in one device.
