Reviews for the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 10.4 (2020)
Anyone can offer an expensive tablet, but only few manufacturers offer affordable tablets with good equipment and performance. The stage belongs to the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 LTE, since it is distinguished by exactly those virtues, and at 290 Euros (~$345; ~$290 in the US), it is one of the best tablets in its price class.

I've wanted Samsung to field a tablet like the Galaxy Tab A7 for years. Apple's dominance in the tablet world has made the iPad the de-facto choice, and that's been boring, to say the least. The Tab A7 is priced at $100 less than the iPad but has a seriously strong set of features, including facial recognition (which the iPad lacks). More importantly, though, I applaud the Galaxy Tab A7 for its epic battery life and thin bezels, which gives it the endurance and smaller footprint that one looks for in a tablet. If only its screen were a bit brighter and its processor more capable, it could possibly have kicked the iPad off the top of the mountain. Yes, you could save $70 with the $149 Fire HD 10, but you'd be trading away a ton of apps and biometric security. And those who want the faster speeds and brighter screen of the iPad know that they'll be spending $100 more to get there. So, for those looking for the ultimate Android tablet, this Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 review has shown you every reason why it's more than worthy of your consideration.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 is a solid choice for anyone after an affordable tablet to watch media on, with a bright and sizeable screen. The interface is simple to use and there is a lot of app support. However, anyone looking to engage in creative work should look elsewhere, as there is no S-Pen support and the latency is not fantastic. The middling processor also doesn’t offer much in terms of speed, so anyone hoping to play competitive games should also look elsewhere. For the low price and build quality though, I wouldn’t completely write off this tablet, and would easily recommend it to anyone on a budget that wants a larger device to watch YouYube on.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 is the most complete entry-level Android tablet I’ve reviewed. While I found a few things to complain about, overall it offers a fine experience across the board. With a sturdy chassis, great screen, excellent battery life, and other amenities onboard, the Tab A7 nearly has it all. The Tab A7 may cost a bit more than competing low-cost tablets, but the extra cash is well spent. It’s no pro-grade machine, but for everyday activities such as watching videos, browsing the web, and even gaming, it gets the job done and then some. The Galaxy Tab A7 is an affordable Android tablet that offers a lot for the money. Features include a 10.4-inch display, Snapdragon processor with 3GB of RAM, a huge battery, quad speakers, expandable storage, and a headphone jack.

I’m walking away from this review impressed by what the Galaxy Tab A7 has to offer at a $230 price point. While it certainly isn’t going to redefine what a tablet can be, it offers solid performance for those who primarily just need a bigger screen or – like in my case – a separate battery to play games on so they aren’t sending their phone’s battery to an early grave.

Samsung isn’t pushing any productivity features here: it doesn’t come with a stylus, there’s no keyboard case available for it, and it doesn’t have Samsung’s DeX desktop software mode. It doesn’t even have Samsung’s dumber-than-average Bixby voice assistant. (The Google Assistant is available and works just like on any other device.) Instead of spending time and resources developing features most people won’t use, Samsung focused on what matters here: putting the best speakers and perhaps the best display you can get in a tablet at this price point.

While the battery is smaller than the one on the Tab S7, the processor is more power-efficient than the Snapdragon 865+ that is found in the S7, meaning that the battery can last you a whole day, which is great. The performance of the tablet with the Snapdragon 662 is great for general usability, though the mid-range characteristics of the SoC do show themselves quite quickly when multitasking and using multiple apps at the same time.

Available at a starting price of Rs 16,999, the Galaxy Tab A7 is easily a complete value-for-money device. You get a good package of essential specs from a reliable brand to satisfy your everyday needs. Unless you want an iPad. If you are fine with a tablet which isn’t an iPad and don’t want to spend too much, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 will be a good bet.

The Galaxy Tab A7 is exactly what you’d expect for the price. Its 10-inch LCD screen is dim with narrow viewing angles, a departure from the gorgeous displays we’ve come to expect from Samsung’s higher-end devices. At $230 the Tab A7 costs $80 more than the Amazon Kindle Fire HD and its main advantage is the availability of the Play Store and Google apps. If you dislike Amazon’s Fire OS, this is a good cheap Android tablet for you. If not, the Fire HD 10 offers a similar experience for a lower price.

The Galaxy Tab A7 is currently on sale for a mere $155, making it a competitor for Amazon's Kindle Fire 10 HD. The Tab A7 feels remarkably well built for that price, but it's held back by an LCD screen that's a little too dim and doesn't have great viewing angles. Still, if you're looking for an inexpensive tablet with full access to the Play Store (and that you mostly plan to use indoors) the Tab A7 is one of your best options.

If you’re looking for a tablet for watching videos, gaming, and browsing and want something on the cheap, then the Tab A7 fits the bill perfectly. It has mediocre display quality, performance while moving through the user interface is lacking (mainly because of the low RAM), and the software experience is basic. But the display is big and you get excellent sound through the four speakers, performance while gaming or browsing is fine, and the battery lasts long, which is everything you would need in a tablet meant for content consumption on a budget.

The Galaxy Tab A7 is great for entertainment, and for regular usage. If you’re someone who wants a budget tablet for studying, or a bigger screen experience for regular tasks, then you can consider it.

The Galaxy Tab A7 fares well if you consider it for basic work. It can be a good companion for media consumption, online classes, Zoom meetings, etc, even though it's not the best in business when it comes to productivity. But its impressive battery life with fast-charging support and decent performance makes it a worthy option if you don't plan to spend too much and want the latest Android tablet to use as a secondary screen.

The Galaxy Tab A7 is a meant for media consumption and light task but if you are looking to buy it for hardcore gaming or multitasking this tablet is not meant for you.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 (reviewed at $229) is a mid-range tablet that, at first, did not make the best first impression with its ho-hum chassis design and dim display.

Lisa Gade reviews the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7, one of the more affordable Android tablets in Samsung’s fall 2020 lineup. The Tab A7 shares many specs with the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite we reviewed earlier, but it lacks the S Pen support. It has a 10.4” TFT display and runs Android 10 with One UI 2.5 on the Snapdragon 662 processor. The Android tablet starts at $229 and has 2D facial recognition, quad stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos software, a microSD card slot and a headphone jack.

Even though the Galaxy Tab A7 is marketed as a multimedia tablet, it can be a terrific device for everyday work, too. In my case, I paired a Logitech K480 Bluetooth keyboard to the Tab A7 and used the tablet for writing stories and attended most product launch briefings. I won’t say this tablet can replace a computer, but if your child’s purpose is limited to attending online classes or writing assignments on Google Doc, the Galaxy Tab A7 fits the bill. And yes, the tablet can be used by any member in the family for consuming multimedia content, thanks to a 10.4-inch screen and the quad speakers. After all, the Galaxy Tab A7 is not restricted just for educational purposes. I think that’s the purpose behind the Galaxy Tab A7. It can be your child’s first device, or your mother’s cooking classes companion.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 brings with it a good display, great sound output and a premium build. It is ideal for those looking for a content consumption device from streaming services, some gaming and light productivity work. It will also work if you need a device to attend classes online and type some notes. It has good battery life too. The camera is good enough for video calls but won't replace your smartphone for photography needs. The processor can play all the games you want and run apps from the Play Store, but high-end productivity apps can cause the device to stutter.
