Reviews for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 SM-T860
For Samsung's new tablet flagship, the best is just good enough: As with the first Samsung tablet, the 10.5-inch Android device is equipped with a dual camera and is run by the Snapdragon 855 high-end SoC and at least 6 GB of RAM. The Samsung S Pen is also always included.

So, this was our take on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6. Our conclusion might have been different, hadn’t we tested the Galaxy Tab S7 – its successor, in a previous review. Comparing the performance of the two is pointless, as the Snapdragon 865+, found in the latter, significantly outperforms the Snapdragon 855 SoC. Nevertheless, the Galaxy Tab S6 is a great value for your money in 2020. It has one of the best speakers on a tablet, outperforming 99% of the laptops out there, as well.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 is a highly accomplished Android tablet. It's great for media and almost as good for productivity. It's expensive, but still cheaper than its main rival - the iPad Pro. However, it's also not quite as good as Apple's Pro range.

Samsung's Galaxy Tab S6 is the best Android tablet to reach the market, but it's not necessarily for everyone. This professional-grade slate supports the S Pen, Samsung's DeX productivity user interface, and a custom keyboard that connects via pogo pins rather than Bluetooth. All this screams "I can work!" The Tab S6 is surely good in a pinch, but power users may be more productive on a full PC.

All things said and done, if you're comfortably happy with your set of Android apps, appreciate a big screen device that's light and portable, love to watch and consume videos on the go for long durations and only require Microsoft Office suite on Android for any productivity tasks, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 slots in quite well for this need and as we've compared, doesn't cost as much as its immediate rivals, but it's not exactly affordable either.

With as many gripes as I have with the Tab S6, I still think that it's a fantastic Android tablet --possibly even the best available right now. Still, It hasn't swayed me from recommending the base-level, $439 iPad to most people, especially since the Galaxy Tab S6 starts at $899 in Canada.

Samsung sells the Galaxy Tab S6 starting at $599, but it looks like a solution best avoided. Although it is less expensive than the iPad Pro and Microsoft’s Surface Pro 6, its bugs appear to make using the tablet an unpleasant experience. There are also several low-cost alternatives including Apple’s 2019 10.2-inch iPad, which sells for as low as $329.

At this price, you’ll likely be better off with a Windows 10 laptop unless you really need a tablet instead. Still, an iPad Pro or Microsoft Surface is a superior option in the tablet market. Otherwise, the Tab S6 is probably overkill compared to the Tab S5e which has the same screen, design and speakers and is perfectly good as an entertainment device and light work.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 is the current flagship tablet from Samsung and is priced at Rs. 59,900. It has the best possible hardware in terms of performance for an Android tablet. We like the vivid AMOLED panel, and the quad speakers do make it a good device to consume media on. Thankfully for Samsung, there isn't a lot of competition, as manufacturers have pretty much stopped making Android tablets. If you absolutely have to get an Android tablet, the Galaxy Tab S6 is your best bet.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 makes a strong case for itself when it comes to performance, and as an entertainment device. It will also appeal to those who need a stylus for their tablets given Samsung has typically done well in this area. It is also more affordable than the iPad Pro series and the Surface Pro devices in the Indian market, where even the accessories cost a lot more.

That being said, it isn’t the best mobile device to use for taking photos, especially those in the dark, but for well-lit conditions the Galaxy Tab S6 does very well. As long as you have a USB-C to HDMI cable and a handy projector or HDTV, you could easily convert the Galaxy Tab S6 into an excellent presentation device, especially since the speakers are so loud and clear while the new S Pen is practically a magic wand remote control. If you’re getting it for work, make sure to get the keyboard cover too, but we’d also recommend getting a bluetooth mouse at the same time, as the built-in trackpad is a bit limited.

There is one major reason why you should prefer the Tab S6 over an iPad and that is the media experience. The vivid and crisp AMOLED display, 16:10 aspect and stellar quad speakers make the Tab S6 a fantastic entertainment device. It is perfect for watching Netflix, YouTube videos, laying back and playing a few games and also makes for a great e-book reader as well.

So, is the Galaxy Tab S6 a safe buy at $649 for the most affordable version? If you absolutely need to get an Android tablet, then yes. Let’s sum it up: you get great performance, excellent design, top-notch hardware, beautiful display, a useful S Pen, standalone DeX Mode, and a great multimedia experience. It’s a great tablet overall that doubles as both an excellent multimedia consumption device and a productivity powerhouse that could even be used as a lightweight replacement for your laptop in certain scenarios. Of course, provided that you get the Book Cover Keyboard, which costs $179.99.

At Rs 59,900, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 is definitely one of the most expensive tablets, but it is worth it. The tablet’s dazzling display, exceptional multimedia prowess, stylus support, class-leading computing platform, top-notch performance and the ability to serve as a two-in-one device make it the best Android tablet yet — one that could really compete with Apple iPads.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 is probably one of the best you can get from the Android tablet. The device comes loaded with a sleek design and the display looks immersive. The S Pen support works handy when it comes to taking notes or showing some artistic skills and the performance is up to the mark. Samsung DeX needs more refinement. Still, if you are ready to pay Rs 59,990 for a tablet, then you can surely consider this one.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 gets a lot right for an Android tablet. It has a speedy Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Processor and flexible storage with 128GB or 256GB, which can both be expanded up to 1TB with a microSD card. Samsung's recent updates to its DeX mode even make the Tab S6 a more viable laptop substitute than earlier models.

The Tab S6 is an excellent content consumption tablet. It has a great screen and speakers, and it’s thin and light enough to hold for extended watching sessions. It even has enough battery life to last through at least three Marvel movies. On the flip side, Samsung’s attempts to make the Tab S6 a productivity device fall short, there are a number of annoying bugs in the software, and it’s not a great enough device to replace your laptop.

I am not a tablet person and I admit that up front. I use my phone for quick things like finding a good place to eat or messaging my friends and family but for the heavier lifting, I use my Chromebook because it's a better "desktop" class experience. Having said that, the Tab S6 has warmed me up just a little bit. Maybe not $650 worth, but it's shown me that sometimes a 10-inch screen without the bulk of a keyboard folded over or the untameable weight of the 13-inch Pixel Slate can be a good thing.

The Galaxy Tab S6 gets almost everything right about the hardware side of the Android tablet experience. In action, the screen is gorgeous, the design is tight, the S-Pen is charming and the battery life is nothing short of decadent. I just wish Samsung would be willing to put a little more muscle behind the areas where the gulf between the experience that the Tab S6 and iPad give you diverge most noticeably. DeX continues to become better and better and a version of this product that pushes that further is still something I’d like to see. The Galaxy Tab S6 is Samsung’s best tablet but it rarely tries to come across as anything but yet another tablet. I’d like to see that change.

With its kickstand, keyboard and wannabe desktop interface, the Tab S6 is Samsung's latest attempt at mimicking Microsoft's Surface tablets. Sure, Samsung could have just done that by making another Windows hybrid, but it feels like the company knew Android would be a better match for the S Pen's newfound capabilities. And, once again, it is the comfortable, smooth stylus that sets the Tab series apart. Those who like taking notes by hand and want an attractive, lightweight, powerful device that lasts ages will appreciate the Tab S6. Android (not to mention Dex) may feel limited for anyone looking to get real work done, but if you don't need to do much more than edit a few documents or slideshows on the go while staying in touch with your colleagues, the Tab S6 will do just fine.

Other than that, the Galaxy Tab S6 really is the top Android tablet of 2019. One may say that this is by virtue of non-existent competition in this segment, but Samsung hasn’t been slacking off. The Galaxy Tab S6 is well-made, feels exceptionally premium in the hands, has the latest internal specs and a superb display. It can most certainly justify its $650 price tag for the right customer.

Samsung has given us one of the best iPad alternatives, and at a time when Android tablets are losing steam. The Galaxy Tab S6 is a sleek tablet with a gorgeous 10.5-inch display and fast performance. Unlike the iPad, the Galaxy Tab S6 comes with a stylus, which can now be charged in a magnetic groove on the back of the Tab S6. Samsung also improved the Tab S6's other main accessory -- the detachable keyboard -- giving it a touchpad and a DeX shortcut key.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 is a brilliant Android tablet. But should you buy it over an iPad Pro, iPad Air or Galaxy Tab S5e? That’s a tricky one. The iPad Pro is more expensive, but the iPad Air isn’t even when you factor in the cost of the Apple Pencil. And the cheaper Tab S5e has several of this model’s highlights, including a great screen, high-end design and support for DeX. Still, if you don’t like Apple or its iPads, it’s hard to conclude anything other than this is the best tablet choice for those with a good chunk of cash to spend.
