Reviews for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Plus
Because Samsung has not released any tablets with a screen larger than 11 inches for a very long time, we are quite happy to see the Galaxy Tab S7+, which features a top-tier SoC. Read our review to learn if there are any other surprises.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 and Tab S7 Plus are two of the highest-quality Android tablets you can buy. There’s no question that these slates are appealing as far as the hardware is concerned. With excellent craftsmanship, the metal chassis and stunning displays are something to lust over. Performance is best-in-class, and battery life is absolutely stellar. The cameras leave a bit to be desired, but that’s par for the course on a tablet. Samsung’s own apps look and function great on the Tab S7 and S7 Plus, but the majority of Android apps fall a bit on their face.

In the end, whichever variant of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 you go for, you’re going to get an absolute belter of a tablet. The keyboard cover is nice (if you buy one), the tablet itself is lovely, DeX mode works well and the stylus is included in the box at no extra cost. Pair all that with the fastest Qualcomm processor to date, a slick 120Hz screen and the potential for 5G connectivity, and the Tab S7 Plus is a great tablet for everything from working on Word documents to watching Netflix. And the price, which is considerably less than the equivalent Apple iPad Pro, makes for an exceedingly tempting purchase.

Samsung has been on a roll of late. Not only have they announced some great new products - including the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and the Galaxy Buds 2 - they have quietly dropped the price of their excellent Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Plus tablet. You can now get a whopping £220 off the S7 Plus Wi-Fi, which is the tablet's lowest-ever price on Amazon. The Tab S7 Plus got five stars in our review and earned a Best Buy award thanks to its laptop-like performance and many features which rivalled the iPad Pro, so if you're looking for an Android tablet that can compete with the very best, this is a great investment.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 range is an ambitious offering from Samsung, with a premium build and a fantastic screen that's unlike any we've seen on Android tablets before. However, the lack of developer support for apps on Android tablets takes a toll on what is otherwise a top iPad competitor.

At RM4599, it is clear that the price matches the premium status and high quality of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+, and understandably so. Bear in mind, that price does not include the price of the detachable keyboard and kickstand cover. That said, the inclusion of the S Pen is a nice touch. On another note, switching between One UI and DeX does take some getting used to, but it isn’t a difficult curve. Yes, there are cheaper alternatives to this tablet from the same brand, but it goes without saying that as far as premium Android tablet go, you can’t go wrong with this one.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ is a great tablet for multimedia and productivity use. If your aim is to get a supplementary device for those purposes, it’s hard to look elsewhere. However, bear in mind that it will cost quite a bit of money with prices starting from RM4,599. If you can stomach that price tag, it will be an excellent device to go along with your smartphone.

Overall, the Galaxy Tab S7 family represents an interesting mix of portability and compatibility. Being able to run any Android app means there's a lot of native apps to choose from. Full Google Play services and integration means there shouldn't be any surprises for a worker on the go. For road warriors who don't really need Windows, but still need good performance, great battery life and a lightweight system, the Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+ are arguably the best Android tablets yet. These new Galaxy Tabs offer excellent portability and great utility with Samsung Dex software features. For that reason, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ is HotHardware Recommended.

Think of this large Tablet that can be used in the home, the office, and anywhere in between as it has a Sim and can therefore keep you in contact anywhere. It has rather good speakers however few will want to hold it to their ears because of size, so Bluetooth for a headset and some form or privacy for your phone calls.

If you are looking for a flagship-grade Android tablet your options are quite limited. Samsung is one of the very few manufacturers still pushing out premium tablets, and the Galaxy Tab S7+ is pretty much the best that this company has to offer. The big Super AMOLED display and the quad-speaker arrangement make it an excellent device to consume content on. While the size of the Galaxy Tab S7+ could make it difficult to game on, it packs the hardware to run anything you throw at it.

But again—if what you’re looking for is a PC replacement, Samsung DeX is a game-changer, making the Galaxy Tab S7+ a better PC replacement than the iPad Pro in many ways. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ is a perfect big-screen device but not a perfect tablet due to limitations on the software front. It is, however, the best Android tablet you get if you compare it with other available Android tablets. The tablet has a premium design, dazzling display, immersive audio drivers, decent cameras, and top-notch performance. The bundled SPen digital stylus makes the deal even better as you do not have to spend anything extra for it. That said, the Galaxy Tab S7+ might not be a wholesome package, but it is nonetheless a solid tablet with strengths across areas.

For all the features that come with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+, it is an easy pick for anyone who is looking to do productive tasks without having to bring bulky gadgets like laptops. It’s portable, well-equipped, and has the current best features that an Android tablet can offer. The only thing that would stop you from getting this device is its price at PHP 63,990. The fact that the Malaysia version doesn’t come with 5G support is a bit of a bummer though, but most laptops don’t support any type of mobile connectivity either. Maybe yes. But it is important to highlight the maybe part here. As a tablet, the Tab S7+ is a device with superb hardware. However, it is still an Android tablet. And as far as Android software for tablets is concerned, it is a mess. Google currently lacks a cohesive strategy around Android tablets, and that limits their appeal compared to something like an iPad for which not only Apple has a proper ecosystem in place but also a focussed iPadOS.

The Tab S7 is an 11” Android 10 tablet with an LTPS display and the S7+ has a 12.4” OLED display (both with 16:10 aspect ratio). They have the Snapdragon 865 Plus and 5G is optional. As a tablet, the S7+ shines. It has a big, beautiful 120hz display that’s great for watching videos or sketching on, and the useful S Pen is included. At the end of my testing period, I mostly became frustrated because Samsung made some forward progress compared to last year’s Tab S6, and there are things I like or even love about the Tab S7. The hardware is top-notch, the display is perhaps the best you can get on any mobile device, and the audio experience is excellent. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ is a better Android tablet any day compared to others. Samsung has done everything right in its caliber to make this a great tablet and a good productivity machine and offer a complete package. But, the lack of optimised apps to take advantage of both bigger display and the Dex mode is what holds it back from the competition. Although, we can not deny that Samsung is on the right track and things have improved. More apps now support the Dex mode, including the Microsoft Office apps, Samsung apps, and games. If you’re planning to use the Tab S7 as a daily workhorse, be prepared to charge it up often. I’m not sure if it’s the high-res, high-refresh display, the fact that I’m bouncing between at least six different apps all day long, or what, but I’ve been consistently able to kill the battery in less than four hours when I use the Tab S7 Plus as a laptop. We hope to have more time with the S7+ so lookout for a full review in the coming months. If you have questions I can answer, please ask them in the comments below and I will do my best to answer. I really didn’t cover much here, my time was short and there’s so much more this thing can do.

There’s one point we always make when reviewing Samsung’s flagship tablets. The company should think about adopting an IP rating for these devices. Assured water resistance would put Samsung’s flagship tablets in a class of their own. It’s also something that would allow users to be a bit more carefree with them. We remain hopeful that Samsung will follow through on this one day.
