SONY XPERIA XZ Premium is a top notch device with all the premium features in the very affordable price range. Personally, I have liked this device very much because it is fulfilling all the requirements of a normal user in very economical price. It has a 13MP selfie camera which is perfect for camera lovers and the body shape of this smartphone is very slim and sleek. The price is very high as compare to other brands, let’s see what happens with Sony Xperia XZ Premium.

Sony’s Xperia XZ Premium features a capable smartphone camera that gets the job done — especially in good light — but which doesn’t rise to the heights of the top phones from other manufacturers. In particular, it is sensitive to harsh lighting conditions outdoors, and finicky in low light and indoor situations. Video performance is also competent, but marred by problems with loss of detail and mediocre stabilization. The stacked sensor does allow the XZ Premium to support a novel 960 fps slow-motion mode, but even at 19MP, it doesn’t produce overall better images or video than many other phones with lower or similar-resolution sensors.

To me it looks like Sony was trying to one-up the competition by including a 4K display and clever camera trickery but when I get to the checkout counter I would rather get myself an LG G6 or a Samsung Galaxy S8.

Comparing flagship smartphones in 2017 is a task based on small margins. Every premier release this year has had its merits, and that holds true for the Sony Xperia XZ Premium. The screen is great, it’s fast, its camera has that rather cool slow-motion feature and, unlike the iPhone 7, it has a 3.5mm headphone jack.

This time Sony has chosen their flagship to be with a glass and not metal back, and it really looks stylish but the fingerprints on this big 5.46-inch body stop us from giving full credit as far as design is concerned. On the other hand, you will be presented with incredibly detailed display and one of the most powerful mobile chips on the market – Snapdragon 835. All this completely befits a top notch model such as Xperia XZ Premium. We can say that its battery life is good enough, and thanks to the USB Type-C and Quick Charge 4.0 technology you can benefit from quick charging.

With its fancy mirror finish, eyebrow-raising price, and proud Sony pedigree, the Xperia XZ Premium flatters to deceive. On paper, it’s a behemoth, but in practice, it’s too much like the rest of the mainstream Android flagship pack. That’s been Sony’s problem almost since the very inception of the Xperia line, and the XZ Premium does nothing to rectify it.

Sony Xperia XZ Premium is a flagship smartphone that can give other flagships runs for its money when it comes to features. It is not one of the fancy looking smartphone due to its huge bezel, but the mirror finish and robust construction surely make it one of the premium smartphone you can get in today’s time. Let’s start with the obvious- the bling factor is quite high on the Xperia XZ Premium. It’s a massive phone that’s very shiny and will definitely get noticed. But here’s the thing- Sony makes no apologies for that. In fact, it makes a good selling point for the Xperia XZ as there is nothing else in the market quite like it. Add to that the top-of-the line specs and a good camera and you have a great phone that ticks all the right boxes.

The Xperia XZ Premium proves Sony is trying to push the boundaries of what a good Android phone can be. But future-proofing the display, camera and performance for innovation down the line doesn't do much good in the present. A 4K HDR smartphone with a super-slow-motion camera sounds so, so cool. In reality, like all the extra apps Sony puts on the XZ Premium, the device's marquee features feel more like window dressing than essentials.

We’ve enjoyed using the XZ Premium a great deal and it’s certainly a worthy flagship Android phone. It’s a crowded market though with the Samsung Galaxy S8, LG G6, HTC U11, Huawei P10 Plus and even the new Blackberry KEYone vying for your attention. Many of those phones have also dropped in price since launch which means the late-launching Premium looks a bit expensive at $1,099 but we expect that to drop quickly too.

Is the Xperia XZ Premium the best flagship for 2017? If you value performance, great camera, and attractive design, it could be the one for you. Sony stuck to the basics of a smartphone and focused on camera features to keep it on top. While the bezels are not exactly 2017 standards, the display makes up for everything. Perhaps what we can just say about the XZ Premium is that it wasn’t able to introduce us to something new except for the super slow-mo video novelty.

The real problem with the Xperia XZ Premium isn’t the phone itself, it’s the competition that it stands against. When your pricetag is $799, you better be ready to compete against phones like the Galaxy S8, the iPhone 7, and even the LG G6. If Sony really wants to do something significant in the smartphone space, it’s time the Xperia line gets a reboot—and please, no more X’s and Z’s this time.

The Sony Xperia XZ Premium will not be widely distributed on US carriers, which has been a thorn in the side of Sony’s presence in the States for a long time now. However, it is available for $799 on e-commerce channels for unlocked editions, and this includes places like Amazon and even Best Buy. For a 4K display, water resistance, a good camera, and even a dual-SIM slot, it’s a tad impressive that Sony keeps the XZ Premium competitively priced against the likes of current Samsung and LG flagships.

The Sony Xperia XZ Premium has been launched in India at a price of Rs 59,990. You can say that it is expensive, but, come to think of it: it ought to be expensive because it has all the goodies. And, it's safe to say that it is an excellent performer too, at the same time. Now Sony has always been in the habit of launching super-gimmicky phones that look fantastic but don't serve any real-world purpose. No wonder it hasn't been able to translate them into encouraging sales figures.

There is no doubt that the Sony Xperia XZ Premium is a top notch. The camera ticks the right boxes, the overall UI and performance is not bad, though it could be smoother. However, this still has an outdated design and a display, which despite the 4K feature, looks old, and the heating problems haven’t gone away. At $800, the Sony Xperia XZ Premium is one of the costliest flagship phones you can buy. In terms of hardware, it matches most of its rivals with smooth, fast performance, excellent camera quality, and high-resolution audio. It also has the sharpest display of any smartphone available. But it's held back by a bezel-heavy design that makes the phone look outdated and feel unwieldy compared with the sleek Samsung Galaxy S8. It's also missing a fingerprint sensor and won't work on Sprint or Verizon. And while the 4K HDR display is impressive, right now it feels a bit useless due to the paucity of content available. The Galaxy S8 offers largely similar features on all the main carriers for a few dollars less, making it out Editors' Choice. If you want to save some money, the upcoming OnePlus 5 looks like a promising alternative.

The Xperia XZ Premium is the absolute top-of-the-line smartphone for the company, and therefore has a retail price of $799. Outside of a Galaxy S8+ or iPhone 7 Plus, people just don't often pay that kind of money for a phone. And they particularly don't pay that much for a phone that in the U.S. doesn't have a fingerprint sensor, and still sports a camera that doesn't get anywhere near the competition.

The Sony Xperia XZ Premium is a stunning smartphone, both in terms of design and performance. The mirror-like look isn’t for everyone due to the appearance of smudges, but it helps provide an elegant, high-end look. The 4K HDR display is one-of-a-kind, bright and vibrant, and shows off snaps taken by the impressive Motion Eye camera perfectly. The camera itself can handle almost anything you can throw at it, although performance does slip in low-lit conditions and the super slow-mo video mode takes some practice. If you’re looking for a gorgeous high-end smartphone with a huge focus on display and cameras with above average battery life, the Sony Xperia XZ Premium is a solid option.

Sony's new smartphone declares a challenge to most current flagship with the 'Premium' in its name. At its price, it will compete with the iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, Samsung Galaxy S8, Samsung Galaxy S8+, LG G6, Google Pixel, and Google Pixel XL.
