TCL's Tab 10s doesn't make a lot of sense, for the simple reason that you can get more for your money elsewhere. You can easily score a tablet that's bigger, faster, and better built than the Tab 10s. We would only recommend the Tab 10s for those who needed the cheapest possible device for the most basic tasks—say, a tablet for your kid to play with, and only if you found it on sale for much less than TCL's $200 retail price You can't expect a budget tablet to do everything, but TCL's Tab 10s doesn't do enough to justify its price, even if that price is low.

I think TCL TAB 10s is one of the most common budget tablets in 2022 for light use, such as students or children, and is not the most powerful tablet out there, nor is it the most affordable. However it comes with a good processor, a memory of 32GB, 3GB RAM, connectivity standards, and an FHD screen, which does not make it flawless as it lacks a fingerprint reader, slow battery charging, low camera quality and you cannot watch Netflix in HD resolution, even the memory I find it little, but it gives you good performance at a low price.

Hopefully, this has already been answered so far in the review and the fact remains, tablets aren’t something that everyone wants or needs. The short answer is that if you’re a casual user, or someone who tends to use a single app at a time and doesn’t (for now, fingers crossed) want or need a keyboard on your tablet – Yes! The performance is well and truly good enough for daily use for average users, but heavy users should steer clear. The performance isn’t going to meet your needs and that’s ok because you’ll probably spend as much on a keyboard cover that this tablet costs. At $399.00 the price is — in terms of electronics — almost at a level, this could be thought of as a throwaway item if it breaks. While tablets are something of a niche market, they’re still a worthwhile investment for quick and convenient use and functionality at home and on the run. The TCL Tab 10S isn’t a perfect tablet, but for the cost, it’s a really good option for a lot of users.

The TCL Tab 10s is not the most powerful tablet out there, nor is it the most affordable. However, what it does aim to be is a great budget tablet for those who simply want a larger screen and are not looking to run behind performance, but don’t want to compromise big time on the spec-sheet either. If you want a device for video conferencing and online lectures, along with some media consumption and light gaming, and also control all your smart appliances at home while you’re at it, or any other similar use-cases, the TCL Tab 10s is a solid option to consider.

Our review of the TCL Tab 10s 4G in the Philippines shows that the brand has almost nailed it right in offering a tablet for under Php 14k. While we appreciate the inclusion of a stylus and a keyboard folio cover to transform it into a 2-in-1 productivity device, the use of a 4-year old processor limits the potential of the Tab 10s 4G as a workhorse.

TCL TAB Max 10.4 is considered a mid-range tablet, and there are not many differences between other competitors, however, I think is one of the best budget tablets in 2022, with a good processor, abundant memory of 256GB, 6GB RAM, support fast charging 18W, and a 2k screen, but that does not make it flawless as it lacks a fingerprint reader, low camera quality and you cannot watch Netflix in HD resolution, but it gives you powerful performance but not at a low price, And this, as we mentioned, is compared to other tablets from well-known brands such as Alldocube iPlay 40H, Teclast T40 Pro, BMAX MaxPad I11, and it offers similar specifications and performance, or even superior to it in some cases. However, we find a price difference of 50 dollars or more. This is what I will explain in the next comparison table.

The TCL Tab Max 10.4 is a good choice if you are looking for a reasonably priced home media device for video, gaming, newsfeed monitoring and social media. For these tasks it is equipped with everything you need: a large, solid display with NXTVISION support, stereo sound, good hardware with a decent amount of memory and decent battery life. Its main drawback is the lack of LTE support. If it’s important for you to stay connected to the world outside the coverage of your home router, the Tab Max 10.4 won’t be the best option. Perhaps someone here will miss the audio jack and fingerprint scanner. In general, the tablet is perfect for home use. Moreover, it can be supplemented with a stylus and a keyboard, turned into an Android tablet PC and used for study or any work tasks.

TCL 10 Tab Max, is a mid-range tablet with mid-range specifications, but don’t let that put you off it was able to do 95% of the tasks my Samsung Tab S7 can do with ease, in its favour is full HD resolution, very good battery life, decent pair of speakers and performance. Priced at £240 for the 4G version and £220 for the Wifi Version ( I’d fork out the extra £20 for the always connected device) from Amazon. If you are looking for a decent tablet for casual work like content consumption, browsing and attending online classes, then TCL 10 Tab Max is definitely worth a look.

TCL 10 Tab Max, just to remind you, is a mid-range tablet with mid-range specifications. There’s a couple of things that are in favour of the tablet-like full HD resolution, very good battery life, decent pair of speakers and performance. However, for the asking price of Rs 18,999 for the Wi-Fi version and Rs 20,999 for the LTE version, we were expecting a little more from it and that stands true for most users. Because most people use tablets for things where they simply want a bigger screen and better viewing experience and that’s where the mediocre display restricts the tab’s capabilities. Also, the older and sluggish software experience further makes things worse for this tablet. On the contrary side, the 4GB RAM and a decent octa-core processor make up for it. So, who should consider this tablet? The answer is simple, if you are looking for a decent tablet for casual work like content consumption, browsing and attending online classes, then TCL 10 Tab Max is worth a look.

The TCL Tab Pro 5G supports Verizon’s LTE, sub-6GHz, and mmWave 5G networks, but it isn't versatile enough to replace your laptop for use on the road (where this connectivity is arguably the most beneficial). The entry-level iPad is much more powerful, will get more OS upgrades, and works with a keyboard case as well as the Apple Pencil. If millimeter-wave connectivity is essential, consider the pricier iPad mini or iPad Pro. For Android fans, the more affordable Lenovo Tab P11 Plus offers a very similar experience to the Tab Pro 5G, minus the 5G aspect. But if you have a phone you can use as a hotspot, it's definitely worth considering.

The TAB Pro 5G’s inconsistent performance detracts from the tablet, which is ultimately a very basic Android slate targeted at consumers who need a companion device for casual tasks and entertainment, not a workhorse that can be used to get significant work done on the road or at the local coffee shop. The only thing setting TCL’s new model apart from other Android tablets with similar performance is the support for Verizon’s 5G mmWave network, the large battery, and the reverse charging support for topping up gadgets.

Honestly, no, you shouldn’t. Don’t get me wrong, TCL knows how to leverage a less-powerful processor to make a smooth experience. The TCL Stylus 5G ran like butter. But the performance of the TCL Tab 8 LE is terrible. It’s bad to the point where I can’t even recommend it for its low price. You’d be better off spending a bit more money on a more capable tablet.

TCL packs a lot of value into the $300 Tab 10 5G. It exceeded our expectations across the board with strong performance, a high-quality screen, and long battery life. The addition of 5G support makes it a good travel companion. We prefer it over the company's Tab Pro 5G because it offers many of the same features for a lower price. That said, the Lenovo Tab P11 Plus and Apple's iPad remain our favorite low-cost tablets overall because of their superior builds and higher-resolution screens. Neither offers 5G cellular connectivity (the iPad comes in a 4G model), however, which could tip the scales in TCL's favor for frequent travelers.

For RM999, the TCL Tab 11 isn't a bad deal. It's more suitable for office work or simple entertainment like watching videos on YouTube or listening to music on Spotify. It could also be an affordable option for children to use with educational apps. One of its core strengths lies in its battery endurance. However, it does have a long full recharge time, somewhat laggy app performance, and poor photo quality. If you want alternatives, check out the pricier realme Pad 2 (RM1299), which offers a large 11.5-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 2000×1200, a 8360mAh battery and an 8MP camera. It also offers a more powerful Helio G99 chipset, up to 8GB of RAM, and Dolby Atmos quad-speakers. Another option is the HONOR Pad X9 (RM1099), also rather recently launched. This model also has good performance with its Snapdragon 685 chipset and has a keyboard+trackpad accessory included, making it useful for light office work.

Okay, so for the price of RM999, I do think this tablet is a rather good one especially if you’re looking for a budget tablet with an actually good stylus. The only downside that I can see here is the screen protector situation. I think they should’ve just put a proper film screen protector from the factory, and the specs sheet above that screen protector. But if you don’t use any screen protectors then this point doesn’t apply to you. Oh – this tablet does have a microSD card slot and another SIM card slot too. Remember, this tablet does support LTE as well. So yes, I think the price of RM999 offers a lot of value for those who want to draw on this tablet. There is another tablet like the HONOR Pad X9 that is at RM1,099 but there are a few weird design decisions with that tablet too.

At the cost of $239.99 this tablet brings some nice features to its price range. It’s a nice size for viewing content as well as a quick game. Its ability to change display modes to make it more of a eReader at times is a nice touch. The battery life is pretty sufficient and should get you thru a casual day of usage. The fact it has Verizon 5G support ups its ability to be used anywhere but also this makes it exclusive to them locking out any other carriers.

At $239.99, the TCL Tab 10 NXTPAPER 5G is priced well for everything it can do. Again, I think it makes the most sense to compare this against other eBook readers. A Kobo Libra Colour costs $219 but has a locked-down ecosystem. The same goes for the Kindle Scribe, which costs far more at $419.99. The Tab 10 is a little of each of these and a little of its own thing. The TCL Tab 10 NXTPAPER 5G can also be tied to your Verizon account to add 5G service—I wasn’t joking when I called it the Hitchhiker’s Guide! The main downside to this that I can see is that aftermarket accessories are pretty thin and mostly consist of generic “adjustable” tablet folios.

The only Android tablets I’ve enjoyed using over the past few years have been Samsung’s high-end Galaxy Tab’s. I haven’t seen many Android tablets in the budget space that are worth looking at. The TCL TAB 10 NXTPAPER 5G has changed that. This is a nice little tablet for reading, social media, and nighttime use. It’s not a powerhouse, it can do some gaming and other tasks. But it really shines as a reader and social media machine.

The TCL Tab 10 Nxtpaper 5G doesn’t win on any one merit. Its display technology is interesting, compelling even, but imperfect. It would be a lot easier to recommend if text didn’t look so soft, but that issue still doesn’t prevent the tablet from being quite serviceable for reading and quite a bit more. The performance may not be impressive, but it never held the tablet back from casual use cases. The 128GB of storage, microSD support, and 5G connection are also no small benefits for this budget tablet. And when you set it down next to another low-priced competitor, like the Amazon Fire HD 10 tablet, it starts to look like a worthy upgrade. With that in mind, the TCL Tab 10 Nxtpaper 5G opens itself up to tough competition from the iPad if the 5G connection and storage capabilities aren’t important.

The TCL Tab 10 Nxtpaper 5G tablet is available at Verizon for $239 prepaid or $6.66 monthly for 36 months. TCL sells a T-Pen Stylus for $40, and I'll be picking one up as well. Verizon plans start at $30 monthly, which certainly isn't cheap, making the data plan option best suited for those who often use the tablet on the go, outside the comforts of Wi-Fi. I'm keeping the TCL Tab 10 Nxtpaper, data plan or not, because I use it mainly around the house. If I use a tablet or laptop somewhere without Wi-Fi, I'm okay using my iPhone as a hotspot.

We applaud TCL for trying something different with its budget-friendly Tab 10 Nxtpaper tablet and largely enjoy its versatile, E Ink-like screen. Moreover, we're fans of its competitive performance, 5G connectivity, and genuinely useful software enhancements. That said, the tablet's middling battery life and limited software upgrade commitment give us pause. The 5G-capable Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ offers a larger screen, better software support, and superior battery life for just slightly more money, so it remains our Editors' Choice winner for affordable Android tablets.
