Reviews for the Vivo V17

Well, it depends. While the processor could have been from the Snapdragon 700 series, the hardware specs are adequate along with the battery life. An impressive display and camera make it a good package. Priced at Rs. 22,999/-, you could also look at some of the phones which carry similar specs for substantially lesser prices. Nonetheless, the Vivo V17 did not fail to impress with its overall performance.

With that said, the V17 is priced at RM1,699, and at the time of writing, the V17 Pro is priced at RM1,499. With similar hardware and performance, you may want to get the latter and save RM200 – but if you’re looking for something truly lightweight that has fantastic photography quality and overall performance, we say spend that extra cash and go for the V17.

At the price of Rs 22,990, Vivo V17 is an overpriced smartphone that offers mediocre processor and an array of above-average cameras. All of which can be found on any other similar priced smartphone in the market today, except maybe the camera. It seems that Vivo is just trying to keep the V-series smartphone lineup alive by launching this phone. The smartphone does most of the things right such as day-to-day tasks, offers a good design which more or less premium despite it has a plastic build. But it just feels like a smartphone from the past, perhaps from 2018. You will find better phones at this price point as this one just gets the job done.

After our round of testing, the Vivo V17 came out as a well-rounded smartphone that ticks most of the boxes offering decently powerful hardware and good cameras. This is no flagship but Vivo is offering the latest design with a punch-hole display, good gaming performance and a day-long battery life. Check the full review to know more.

The Vivo V17 is positioned below the Vivo V17 Pro and swaps the dual-selfie pop-up module for a tiny hole in the display. Vivo has picked an excellent AMOLED panel with good viewing angles, and the hole isn't distracting. The V17 also offers decent battery life and fast charging.

The daylight photos came out to be crisp and well-detailed and the close-ups looked good as well. However, we faced some problems with the macro lens. Coming to the low light, the results were a mixed bag. We did notice some grains and noises. Furthermore, photos clicked using wide-angle mode in low light conditions delivered some average results. To conclude, the Vivo V17 offers a mixed bag results in the camera department.

Despite these promising features, Indian buyers are highly price-sensitive, so it is interesting to see that Vivo has positioned this phone above Rs. 20,000. In terms of specifications, the competition including Xiaomi, Realme, Samsung, Motorola, and others have several compelling options that are priced lower. At this price, the Vivo V17 offers great value. The phone sports a clean design and looks unique. It captures great pictures in almost all situations and does a great job with macro and low-light shots. It offers a long-lasting battery life and supports fast charging support inside the box. The only area where I believe Vivo V17 could have been slightly better is hardware.
