The Vivo V20 Pro does hit the right notes and performs as a great all rounder. The device is worth its price tag despite some of the trade-offs such as a 90Hz display when compared to the Nord.

At the asking price of Rs 24,999, the Vivo V20 might not be the best mid-range smartphone out there in terms of performance. But, in terms of camera, looks, design and battery it is among the few good phones available in this price range.

The Vivo V20 may not be the best midrange smartphone but it is not bad either. It is a balanced smartphones with a bit of everything for everyone. Consider this smartphone for its design and performance. You might like to compare it with the Realme 7 Pro (read review here) before finalising your pick. Here are some more photos from Vivo V20.

As you can see, specs-wise, the V20 falls short of matching some of its competitors. Yet, it's not a bad phone either. Putting together a well-performing chipset with an excellent display, big enough battery, and a stylish, compact chassis is no easy task. Vivo was able to do that with the V20, it's just that mid-range competition is cut-throat.

The Vivo V20 made its way to us and after spending a few days with it, we can say that it is definitely a worthy competitor in the mid-range space, amongst the already established contenders.

Overall, the V20 is for someone who fancies a good looking phone and a great camera performance over best-in-class specs. It’s a mid-range device targeted to content creators who constantly shoot videos/images from their phone’s selfie camera. But, if you’re someone who prefers a better overall performance then you might want to consider the OnePlus Nord or Samsung Galaxy M51 which are also at the same price point.

The V20 isn’t a perfect phone, but it knows its strengths. Beautiful hardware design and a thin, light hand feel combine with prodigious selfie camera capabilities - and all at a budget price, no less - to make it clear that this is a phone for the TikTok generation.

The vivo V20 and V20 Pro leans heavily on the company’s established selfie dominance to woo consumers, though there’s plenty to like here aside from that. They’re the prettiest phones we’ve seen yet in the mid-range market, and there’s enough performance under the hood to satisfy all but the ardent speedsters. It’ll be facing tough competition from Xiaomi’s recently launched flagship slayers, but there’s still a subset of the phone-buying population that prefers the vivo brand over the brand that everyone’s talking about.

Well, the answer to this depends solely on what you're looking for from your next smartphone. If the design and build quality are what you're after, then you can hardly go wrong with the Vivo V20. As we mentioned above, it is one of the better-designed phones in the segment, and such is the level of craftsmanship used in putting together the device, that the Vivo V20 actually feels more expensive than it actually is.

The Vivo V20 is an impressive mid-range smartphone, but it’s not perfect. The problem with the V20 is that Vivo has played it safe and there is not much dramatically different from its predecessors. That’s not a bad thing necessarily, given the high level of competition in the mid-range segment. With smartphones like the Galaxy M51 and Pixel 4a priced under Rs 30,000, Vivo might need to think differently to counter the stiff competition.

Vivo has gone with a new naming strategy with this phone, instead of its usual sequence of odd numbers. This shows the different approach it has taken with the V20. It is not directly comparable to its predecessors, instead focusing more on design. If you value looks over other aspects in a smartphone, the Vivo V20 will appeal to you. It is well designed and feels premium to the touch.

Smartphones have come a long way in just the past few years alone, rapidly changing in design as well as introducing new, sometimes outlandish features. Almost every smartphone has a gimmick these days in an attempt to stand out from the crowd and it gets harder to think of novel ways to differentiate one model from the next. That’s true even for “mid-range” tier phones like Vivo’s latest selfie-centric phone, the Vivo V20. But does it have enough to actually make it worth noticing? We dig in to find out.

Vivo V20 at a starting price tag of Rs 24,990 is going to face stiff competition from Samsung Galaxy M51 and OnePlus Nord. The smartphone has an impressive design and is among the first smartphones to come with Android 11 based UI out of the box. can Will it's performance match that of its competitors? If you are curious about the battery capacity, you'll be happy to know that Vivo has managed to pack in a 4,000mAh battery. While this is smaller than some of the other smartphones I've tested recently, it can still be considered average for a modern smartphone. You also get a 33W FlashCharge USB Type-C quick charger in the box.
