Reviews for the Vivo V23 5G
vivo V23 5G主要是想用其双前置摄像头来说服人,它有一个强大的50MP传感器。然而,背面的三摄像头也很有希望。此外,还有一个明亮的AMOLED,现代通信模块和快速充电。

Is it worth buying a smartphone for the sake of appearance? Usually not necessarily, but the new Vivo gives us a convincing argument for this. The sparkling gold casing looks attractive in itself, but it gets really interesting when we shine ultraviolet light on it - the illuminated areas of the phone turn blue.

The vivo V23 will not impress with its surprisingly low price, but it captivates with its individuality. The original idea with changing body colors deserves respect – at least it’s spectacular and beautiful. Unfortunately, the sound let us down: a mono speaker is somehow not modern. The smartphone has a good camera and excellent selfie capabilities. In addition, he has a decent margin of performance by the standards of the middle class, and the batteries are stable enough for a day to the extent of active use. If the price is revised, well, or competitors massively rise in price, then the vivo V23 has a chance. However, in the current situation, when it costs much more than analogues, you can pay attention to it only out of curiosity.

The Vivo V23 is a decent all-rounder, but in today’s mid-range market that often isn’t enough. A phone like this needs to excel somewhere, and unfortunately the selfie camera here isn’t quite good enough to deliver as the phone’s USP – especially given the odd choice to strip the OIS found in its predecessor. The design may help this phone appeal to more people, thanks to the combo of a colour-changing finish and iPhone-inspired shape, though more than most parts of the phone this is of course a matter of taste. The V23 certainly isn’t a bad phone, but it just doesn’t do enough to outpace some impressive competition, and falls short exactly where it should be strongest.

The Vivo V23 is overall a great package at what price its being offered. There are smartphones that have better gaming performance in the same price segment, and even better haptics and sound. But if you want great cameras, decent overall performance along with top notch build quality and design, Vivo V23 is the way to go.

Starting at ₹29,990 (roughly $400) in India, the Vivo V23 has a lot of competition in the market. It may not be the best all-around phone you can get at this price, with stereo speakers, OIS, and official waterproof rating being some of the notable bummers. But if you’re looking for a stylish device that can capture great photos, particularly selfies, then you might not need to look beyond this phone. It certainly offers a better value than its Pro sibling.

The Vivo V23 is an affordable midrange phone with a dual-camera and it’s the first color-changing design device we’re reviewing, but it’s just not enough to make it stand out from the pack.

Our review of the vivo V23 shows that aside from its unique color-changing back, it has one of the best selfie cameras on a mid-range phone here in the Philippines. However, its steep asking price means that the V23 will be fighting its rivals at a marked disadvantage, especially since the Dimensity 920 has yet to prove itself as a powerful mid-range processor.

I’ll start summing up by answering just one question: “What was I missing in the vivo V23 5G?” Undoubtedly, protection from dust and water, a more powerful processor, a well-developed FunTouch OS 12. And, of course, the price. It might seem unjustified. So, if you are looking for a decent smartphone with an unusual design and excellent front-facing cameras that allow you to take high-quality selfies and decent videos, then you should pay attention to the vivo V23 5G.

The Vivo V23 is a pretty solid, all-around phone for you to consider if you’re looking to spend less than $500. The cameras are fast and reliable, the software is Vivo-centric but okay, and the battery will easily last you more than a day. But that color-changing back is something truly unique and awesome.

There's a lot to love about the Vivo V23. It performs well, has masses of space and memory to handle anything you throw at it, and a gorgeous camera system. It's carved out a niche of selfie and TikTok lovers—and if that’s your niche then this is simply the best smartphone you’ll find for creative freedom and an edge over everyone else. From the iridescent color changing case to the focus on front cameras though, most people would get better value elsewhere and a more satisfying stock UI. It is however great to see some actual innovation in the space, and if Vivo wasn’t already on your list of smartphone makers to consider next upgrade, it definitely should be.

This model didn’t get major trimmings when it comes to features compared to its higher sibling the V23 Pro, making this somewhat the more practical choice between the two. Within the premium midrange competition, there are other smartphones with better features such as IP rating, faster charging, 120Hz refresh rate, and better choice of hardware; but what the V23 has an edge on is in its cameras and that unique trendy UV design. It’s a reliable 5G-ready daily driver, plus those built-in selfie spotlights are definitely an icing on the cake.

Once again, we have to commend vivo for including all of these features in the vanilla V23 and not just limiting them to the Pro. This means that at the end of the day, the V23 ends being just as unique as its sibling with the same particular mix of features, slashing very little, as a whole aside from the price tag. That arguably makes the V23 the more appealing of the two siblings if you just happen to find this particular and undoubtedly unique mix of features and looks appealing. If that is the case, you can rest assured that the vivo V23 is also well-rounded in most other aspects and will deliver an excellent experience. However, if you don't necessarily prioritize selfies or a conversation starter UV-reactive paint job, you can probably find better value devices elsewhere.

I think Vivo should have offered a better chipset and a bigger battery on the V23. Smartphone purists and power users, in general, might find the phone a bit lacking considering the more well-rounded options available in this price bracket. That said, there is no doubt in my mind that those who love taking selfies and appreciate its stylish looks can consider the V23 5G a perfect companion.

Vivo is mostly associated with industry-leading camera performance, and the Vivo V23 5G aims to maintain that status. As we’ll see here, style and performance go hand in hand with their product approach. Vivo claims perfection and surprise, and each new smartphone it launches lives up to the company’s claims of perfection and surprise (to some extent). The Vivo V23 is “India’s first colour changing smartphone” and “India’s first eye AF dual selfie smartphone”. The Vivo V23 5G is a significant upgrade to the V-series due to its Dimensity 920 chipset, 90Hz refresh rate AMOLED display, 64MP primary back camera, 50MP primary front camera, and an 8MP ultra-wide selfie camera. There’s also a 44W fast-charging support. The V23 stands out from the crowd because of its back panel, which changes its colour when exposed to sunlight or UV rays. Now let’s get into an in-depth review of the Vivo V23 5G.

The Vivo V23 was launched in January 2022, and it cost around $389 (Rs 29,000 in India) approx. The front display of the V23 offers the 6.44-inches AMOLED panel that equips a 90Hz refresh rate and HDR 10+ content support. You are getting a dual rear camera, which introduces a 50MP primary and 8MP ultra-wide lens with a 4K video recording. As for the other hand, it includes a 64MP main sensor, 8MP ultrawide, and 2MP macro with the same video recording features. Following this, you will get a color-changing back panel like the Vivo V23 Pro. As for the processing unit, you will receive the 6nm – MediaTek Dimensity 920 5G chipset that goes up to 2.5 GHz cloaking speed, while the graphics are on a decent level Mali-G68 MC4 GPU. In terms of the software rendering, the visuals are thoroughly handled by the Funtouch 12 based Android 12 OS. As far as the battery life is concerned, the phone renders a slim Li-Po 4200 mAh battery with a 44W fast charging support. Moreover, you can choose from Sunshine Gold to Stardust Black according to your taste.

We got caught up in the glitz and glamor of the Vivo V23, and spent lots of our testing period marveling at its lovely design and taking numerous selfies. In these two areas, we can give the phone hearty thumbs-ups. But we still need to test many other areas, like the battery life, rear cameras and processing performance, before we pass a definitive verdict on the phone. In particular, we’ll also need to have a price before we publish our full review, so we can evaluate its value for money. As it stands, though, this may be our favorite smartphone launched at CES 2022.
