In my Vivo X90 Pro long-term review, I learned that this phone is still a good choice to buy after the Vivo X100 Pro has already launched and the Vivo X200 Pro will soon launch. The Vivo X90 Pro’s sturdy design and curved display give it a different feel when used. The vegan leather material might show fingerprints, but it’s simple to clean. Vivo X90 Pro offers a top-quality camera with different capture modes. I tried different modes, and they performed well, but the Super micro mode did not perform as expected. Overall, the front camera also produces fantastic selfies. Battery performance is also long-lasting, and the battery has fast charging ability. Another thing I will add is that I played many games like BGMI and COC but could not feel a bit warm during gameplay.

This phone came into my hands before this year's MWC, i.e. in February. When reviewing this phone, I came across a dilemma, because on the one hand it is a great device in many respects, but on the other hand, not everything fully satisfied me, and the manufacturer introduced some controversial changes. However, it must be admitted that while maintaining the price of last year's X80 model, we were given an impressive one-inch photographic matrix here.

Vivo X90 Pro is focused on the camera, like other X-series phones launched in past years. It certainly hits the right spot with that, the bigger 1-inch sensor, Zeiss’ tuning and the modes on offer make it a pretty competent camera phone. The phone is a lot more than that. It’s a flagship phone and performs like one too. The battery life is also good and it supports 120W fast charging as well. The design also makes it stand out from the crowd, or from the phones that are available in the sub Rs 1 lakh price range. So, for the asking price of Rs 84,999, it may seem like an expensive proposition, but it justifies the price with the features it offers. The camera almost can be worthy of that hefty price tag. But, does the phone have room for improvement? Then, yes, it does need a more refined user interface. The key takeaway here is that, if you are looking for a functional camera phone, that’s a good point-and-shoot and goes beyond that without compromising on performance, then X90 Pro is a good choice for you.

The X90 Pro has a svelte design with a leather back that makes it comfortable to hold and use the device, and it leverages MediaTek's latest Dimensity 9200 platform, putting it on par with the latest that Qualcomm has to offer. The phone has a vibrant AMOLED panel with 120Hz refresh that ensures it is smooth in daily use and gaming, and you get all-day battery with 120W fast charging. The biggest differentiator is the camera tech; there's a 1-inch 50MP lens at the back that takes outstanding photos and videos in any situation, and Vivo outdid itself here. You also get a cleaner software and all the extras, and if you're looking for an alternative to the likes of Xiaomi and Samsung, Vivo has a solid contender in the X90 Pro.

The Vivo X90 Pro is an admirable camera-centric smartphone but not an all-round premium smartphone. It delivers on core features such as design and imaging, but leaves one asking for more in terms of experience due to underwhelming display and unoptimised and bloatware-loaded interface. At Rs 84,999, the phone sits next to the Xiaomi 13 Pro, which is not just cheaper but a better value proposition with strengths across parameters.

Barring the drawbacks, the Vivo X90 Pro is an excellent flagship smartphone with an emphasis on camera performance. This phone has the fastest shutter speed (in sports mode) that I have ever used on a phone. On top of that, it also offers plenty of modes to play around with, allowing users to capture a photo in their style. While I prefer Vivo’s colour science, the Zeiss natural colour 2.0 mode does offer true-to-life-looking pictures, which can be further edited as per the requirement. On top of that, it also has a handheld astro mode and night sports mode, which allows users to capture stable pictures of moving subjects even in low-light situations. To summarize, the Vivo X90 Pro has both hardware and software and even the Zeiss T* lens coating, making it the perfect phone for shutterbugs. If you are looking for a camera-first flagship smartphone in 2023, the Vivo X90 Pro is an easy pick.

Well, for that you need to answer a couple of questions. One, do you need a phone that is primarily a great camera? Two, are you ready to buy a premium phone from Vivo that’s going to cost as much as an Apple or Samsung flagship? If the answer is yes on both counts, then this is a good Android option that will satisfy all your photography needs. I think this camera is especially good if you are a creator. But Vivo and Zeiss have scored a win with the camera here for sure.

There’s little doubt in my mind that the Vivo X90 Pro is more camera than smartphone. The company and its product team have given significantly more time to the optical hardware and made it such that there’s appreciation from all ends of the photography enthusiast spectrum. Of course, leveraging the X90 Pro’s image-taking prowess does not come cheap and you will have to shell out Rs 84,999 to get your hands on the device. However, you should also consider that the phone does not seem to be lacking in any department when it comes to offering a premium smartphone experience. Whether it is processing, design, battery life, or display, the X90 Pro has you covered. The handset sets an impressive benchmark for smartphone photography that might be hard to surpass.

With the Vivo X90 Pro, we get what is probably one of the best camera setups in the industry right now, with the help of German camera maker Zeiss. You can take stunning pictures pretty much every time you use this camera. The Vivo X90 Pro also marks the Vivo - Zeiss partnership expanding beyond the camera, making the smartphone feel more “Zeiss” than ever. The camera, the design, the display implementation is where we see traits of the German camera maker. Given the Rs 84,999 launch price, we can say the same thing about the price as well.

Vivo's X series has a reputation of offering a unique photography experience and the new X90 Pro is no different. The rear primary and portrait camera sensors deliver excellent performance. Photos taken by the main camera at times felt like they were captured using a dedicated camera. System performance, display quality and battery life with quick charging are very good as well. The phone has a premium design and comes with an IP68 rating. However, there are a few misses along the way in the Vivo X90 Pro which do stack up, especially when you factor in the price. The ultra-wide camera is not very impressive and we feel that the X80 Pro did a much better job. We weren't too happy with the processed images from the selfie camera either when using Portrait mode. Other misses would be the lack of a periscope camera, a lower-resolution and non-LTPO display, and an optical fingerprint sensor instead of ultrasonic — all of which are present on the Vivo X80 Pro, which is still available and is a bit cheaper. The competition has also caught up. The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra (Review) has set a benchmark when it comes to providing a versatile camera experience, but it's also quite a bit more expensive. The Xiaomi 13 Pro (Review) is probably the closest competitor to the X90 Pro right now and apart from not having an official IP rating in India, it easily matches (and exceeds in some areas) the performance of the X90 Pro while costing a bit less. There is also the Google Pixel 7 Pro (Review) which offers an excellent camera system and a unique software experience.

The Vivo X90 Pro is an excellent smartphone for those who prioritize camera performance and stylish design. The camera app offers various modes and styles that can make your pictures appear dramatic. You can even shoot a portfolio using its RAW mode. While the camera is the standout feature, the phone performs well in day-to-day usage, with a decent battery life that can last a day if usage is moderate. Additionally, the 120W fast charging support refills the battery up to 50 per cent in less than 8 minutes, which solves half of the problems one can face. The design of the phone is premium, but the camera bump may pose an issue. The bloatware, as with previously launched Vivo phones, remains within the ecosystem. The Vivo X90 Pro is priced at Rs 84,999 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB variant, which is on the higher side. Although the price is competitive, the smartphone would be even more desirable at a slightly lower price. Overall, I had a great experience with the Vivo X90 Pro, particularly while testing out its camera in majestic Vietnam. It is a great tool for people looking to improve their photography skills as it will compel you to explore your interest in photography if you haven't already.

The Vivo X90 Pro provided an overall average display performance, boosted mostly by its high marks in color. Although color performance did not match the Vivo’s X90 Pro+ version, it was the device’s strongest attribute, with consistently good and faithful color rendering in indoor and low-light conditions. The Vivo X90 Pro’s screen colors maintained uniformity and color fidelity for the most part. In outdoor testing under direct sunlight, the device did not reach the 1300 nits of maximum brightness advertised. But when challenged to an extremely bright environment of more than 100K lux, the device’s screen attained 1000 nits. The X90 Pro provided a much better HDR10 video-watching experience than the X90 Pro+ version by displaying a good level of details when viewed in indoor lighting conditions. However, video performance did not reach the level of its predecessor, the X80 Pro. The display’s performance when playing video games was hampered by aliasing and visible frame drops.

Yes, simply because it gives as much, if not more, than other phones do. It makes sense to upgrade to this from the X70 Pro or earlier, considering the price hovers around $1,000 depending on which variant you get.

The Vivo X90 Pro is a powerful flagship by any measure, with perhaps the best phone camera you can buy outside of China – though it’s not without compromises. Everywhere from the display, to the chipset, to the software experience, the X90 Pro is always good – and often great – but never the best around. That all changes with the camera, where Vivo’s phone is almost unrivalled, especially when it comes to the absolutely brilliant main camera – by itself undoubtedly at the top of its game. The only real camera complaint is that with no periscope lens, this lacks the versatility of some rivals, including Samsung’s S23 Ultra.

You should buy the Vivo X90 Pro if you value a great camera over everything else (and if you don't live in the US, to avoid importing it). The Sony IMX989, Vivo, and Zeiss's post-processing do wonders, creating images with natural bokeh that almost appear to be taken with DSLR cameras. Of course, there are still physical constraints that are hard to overcome, but the images get as close as they can on any smartphone right now. Unfortunately, the Vivo X90 Pro makes many of the same mistakes as its predecessors and other Oppo sub-brand products. The aggressive software kills background tasks way too fast unless you grant exemptions on a per-app basis, making me question why 12GB of RAM is even necessary in this phone. This doesn't even translate into a phenomenal battery life, which I found somewhat great. That said, the 120W charging speed is something you get used to way too quickly, allowing me to fully charge it during breakfast every morning. If you want a nice-looking flagship with an incredible camera and charging at ludicrous speeds — and you're okay with all the software issues I described — the Vivo X90 Pro is a good choice.

The Vivo X90 Pro kind of flew under my radar when it was released. But after picking it up, I'm thinking that it could totally be one of the best high-end smartphones in 2023. Its spec sheet is very balanced or rather very complete. I really feel like Vivo is trying to check all the boxes. We have a very bright 120 Hz AMOLE screen. A MediaTek SoC with a high-frequency rate. A big 4870 mAh battery rechargeable in less than 30 minutes with the 120 W charger. And a triple camera module with a 1-inch sensor. The Vivo X90 Pro looks very interesting on paper. I can't wait to tell you more about it in a full review once I receive a model. But to me, it's a potential sleeper. You know, like those cars that look like a classic, beige sedan, but hide a monster engine preparation. The Vivo X90 Pro is the same. It might be the good surprise of the year, we'll see.

The Vivo X90 Pro is a well-balanced and well-designed phone that offers impressive performance and, for the most part, produces impressive photos as well. The hardware can handle browsing, streaming, and gaming without breaking a sweat, and the 50MP wide and portrait cameras are great at what they were made for. The ZEISS branding is well-deserved, though the small bit of color inconsistency can throw off more seasoned mobile photographers. The vegan leather definitely helps secure the phone in your hand, but that thin metal band completely ruins the aesthetic for no real reason. There are also a few paper cuts, like a dated curved screen design and a display that doesn't reach the 2K or 1440p mark, none of them real deal-breakers for the majority of buyers. While the phone would normally be a good contender against the likes of Samsung and Apple, its availability and pricing could hurt its chances. It is available globally, unlike the even higher-end X90 Pro+, but only in a few select markets. The price is also a bit of a downer, close to $1,000 or a bit more, depending on the region. At that point, you could have better choices for photography, like a Google Pixel, or a cheaper option for powerful hardware, like some gaming phones. You'd be hard-pressed to find both in the same phone, though, especially in a finely-wrapped package, and that's where the Vivo X90 Pro really shines the brightest.

The Vivo X90 Pro is the phone to get for low-light photography, packing a 1-inch sensor into a relatively thin and lightweight chassis that allows for truly impressive image capture. There’s also a lot to love about the high-res 6.78-inch AMOLED display, Dimensity 9200 chipset and 120W charging that’ll take the phone from flat to full in less than half an hour, though FunTouch OS is rather unexceptional.

The Vivo X90 Pro is one of the best camera smartphones in the market at the moment. Vivo managed to combine arguably the best camera sensor (for smartphones) currently available with excellent software, and ZEISS optics to provide a truly outstanding experience. The Vivo X80 Pro had its issues with consistency, but the Vivo X90 Pro does not show such problems. I do wish Vivo released the Vivo X90 Pro+ globally, as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 would offer better battery life, and the periscope camera would be useful. Even without those additions, however, the Vivo X90 Pro is an outstanding offering. Its price tag will play a huge part for most of you, and unfortunately, at the moment, we still don’t know its price tag outside of China. One thing is for sure, though, this phone excels in many ways, and doesn’t really have a lot of downsides. So, if the camera performance is important to you, this is a phone you should consider, definitely.

After all this, the great question remains: should you buy the Vivo X90 Pro? If you're looking for a top-end smartphone that'll deliver a premium experience and excellent image quality, then look no further. The phone will fit great on most hands without compromising on screen size. You get great performance from the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 chip, even if it isn't as popular as the Qualcomm chip. And best of all, it can give both the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and the Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max a run for their money in the photography department. The Zeiss branding on the Vivo X90 Pro isn't just a gimmick. Instead, it allows the smartphone to deliver consistently great photos, allowing you to push your creativity further beyond its limits.

We were satisfied with the vivo X90 Pro battery life and impressed by its 120W fast charging. The stereo speakers turned out pretty good, too. But what was outstanding across the board was the rear camera photo and video quality. The partnership between Vivo and Zeiss has produced one of the best and most consistent image-processing outputs we've seen. All photos and videos we took with the rear cameras are simply stunning. There is no doubt that this alone is enough to rank the vivo X90 Pro among the best cameraphones in the world. The selfie is still behind the curve as it uses a Quad-Bayer sensor and doesn't even offer 4K video capturing at the time of writing. The zoom options are limited to 2x, which is another aspect that doesn't sit well in light of what the competition is doing. A cameraphone of this magnitude deserves better! All things considered, however, the vivo X90 Pro is an exemplary flagship smartphone that delivers on every promise and offers impressive imaging skills. It's not insanely expansive, too. And it sure gets our unreserved recommendation.

Unboxing the Vivo X90 Pro, with a full test of the flagship camera tech, gaming with MediaTek's Dimensity 9200 and more. The Vivo X90 Pro boasts Sony's 1-inch IMX989 camera sensor for improved low light photography, while the Dimensity 9200 means you can game on Genshin Impact with impressive battery life to boot. Compared vs the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, the Vivo X90 Pro can capture brighter, sharper low light snaps using that next-gen camera. However, tones aren't accurately snapped as often as with the S23 Ultra or Pixel 7 Pro, while moving subjects can pose a problem for the shutter. Gamers can play the biggest Android titles like Genshin Impact on the Vivo X90 Pro 5G with a smooth frame rate, plus a dedicated gaming mode. Battery life is also excellent, helped by the energy efficiency of that Dimensity 9200. And FunTouch OS 13 delivers a wide range of features, but also a crapload of crapware that you'll want to delete.

There’s no denying the Vivo X90 Pro’s main camera takes a stunning photo, with a natural depth of field that no portrait mode comes close to matching. It’s a very capable phone elsewhere, too, with great battery life, rapid charging and high-end performance. It does regress in a few places, though. The periscope zoom lens and gimbal stabilisation tech seen in its predecessor are absent here, and screen resolution has taken a hit. That 1-inch sensor goes a long way to making up for it, but means it’s not quite as versatile as premium rivals from Samsung or Google. According to Vivo the X90 Pro will make its way to Europe – we just don’t know exactly when. The same was said about the X80 Pro last year, and that proved very tricky to find in the UK, so we’re hoping things have improved for 2023. We only know Malaysian pricing, at 4,999 MYR (about £950), so it’s going to command a premium figure once it gets to Blighty. Still, if you prefer close-ups and bokeh blur to zoomed-in snaps, it’ll be well worth tracking one down.

The Vivo X90 Pro is an impressive phone in every regard - it has a lovely design, fantastic performance, solid battery life, super-fast charging and one of the most impressive cameras that we've ever tested. Really, the only thing we don't like is the amount of bloatware that comes bundled into Funtouch OS. Most of this can be removed, or hidden in the app drawer and mostly forgotten about, but it would be nice to not have to go through the hassle. Another hang-up is the pricing, as it stands we don't know the recommended retail price for the UK and Europe. The phone is coming to Malaysia first, and there it'll cost 4,999 MYR (about €1077) so it certainly won't be cheap. That mean's you'll likely be able to pick up a photographic performer like the Pixel 7 Pro for significantly less money. But will its photos wow you as often as the photos from the X90 Pro? We're not so sure.

The Vivo X90 Pro is a combination of proper hardware and software support. You will gain lots of interesting perks from the latest Android 13 and the chipset is designed to provide intensive usage without any hassle. Furthermore, the cooling coating will increase battery life, and as always, the camera quality is on the flagship level. Overall, the phone is a complete package for users who are looking for something different. Although, there’s no denying that it’s lacking a periscope lens, which is only available in the Vivo X90 Pro Plus variant. But even after that, the phone is an impressive deal. But if we have to recommend an alternative option, we suggest you should look for the Vivo iQOO 10 Pro for better software updates and classic camera quality.
