Reviews for the Vivo iQOO 9 SE

Still, even in this state, the iQOO 9 SE is an enjoyable smartphone with a lot to offer. And the best part is that its price is incredibly tempting and competitive. Currently, it is probably the best smartphone within its price bracket. Though, as we said, Realme and Xiaomi will be making their bids in the next couple of weeks - one with ridiculously fast charging and the one with gaming buttons. Our advice is quite simple - just wait out the other two events and then pick a smartphone. There is a good chance the iQOO 9 SE and its great camera kit will remain the best choice.

The iQoo 9 SE is a solid contender in the sub-Rs. 40,000 smartphone segment as it offers excellent value for money. This category in India currently has a few attractive options from various manufacturers, but the iQoo 9 SE's software and camera performance make it stand out. There are also other meaningful benefits that increase this phone's appeal, such as an HDR-capable display, a selfie camera that works well in low light, and the ability to take impressive macro shots. And then, there's the attractive price tag. Available starting at Rs. 33,990 for the 8GB+128GB variant, the iQoo 9 SE seems quite enticing compared to the Realme GT 5G (Review), which has also been a good value offering. The iQoo 9 SE would also be a better choice than Samsung's recently launched Galaxy A53 5G (Review) unless you are specifically looking for that IP67 rating. Those looking for a near-stock Android software experience can also look at Motorola's Moto Edge 20 Pro (Review).

Wrapping up this review, the iQOO 9 SE is a great smartphone with a good design, excellent screen, a powerful Snapdragon 888 processor, and a good set of speakers. So, despite its cameras not being as capable as the Galaxy A53, at Rs. 34,000, the iQOO 9 SE is an unbeatable value and without a doubt my first choice in the sub 35K price segment right now.

Priced at Rs 33,990, the iQOO 9 SE definitely comes across as a value proposition, especially given the fact that it delivers on most aspects of the smartphone usage experience. Talking about the competition in this price range, the Realme GT (review) is possibly the only one that can match the iQOO 9 SE in terms of performance but leaves a bit to be desired in the camera department. There are quite a few other contenders, such as the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G, OnePlus 9R, the Realme GT Neo 2, and others. The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G should be better in the shooting department, while OnePlus delivers a cleaner software experience, but the iQOO 9 SE’s all-round proposition does seem to tilt the balance in its favour.

I feel there are better phones than the iQOO 9 SE but they also cost more. If you are planning to spend Rs 35,000 or slightly less on a phone, this is one of the better options available to you. In particular, I like the performance and design of the phone. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC, which will not disappoint you and will fulfil your gaming needs, that is if you have such needs. I feel the iQOO 9 SE is aimed at those who want a gaming phone at a lower price. In comparison, the camera system on the phone falls short of what the peers of the iQOO 9 SE offer. The battery charging could also have been faster. If you ask me, I believe the OnePlus 9RT or Xiaomi 11T Pro offer a better camera system at a price that is just marginally more than the cost of the iQOO 9 SE. But if clicking great photos in low light is not your primary requirement, the iQOO 9 SE is a very good option. With it, you get great performance, a capable display, largely bloat-free software and premium design. That, I believe, is good enough for Rs 33,990.

Usually, the iQOO phone is known for its performance, and the Vivo iQOO 9 SE also lives up to that mark and provides the best experience. However, it doesn’t mean that the phone is aced in every aspect. There is a handful of flaws like bloatware apps and low camera quality. But if you mask these facts but only the performance factor, it doesn’t justify its price. You can check out other alternative options like the Xiaomi 11 hypercharge for better specs and value for money. If you are looking for something from Samsung, the Galaxy A53 5G is possibly a good choice in the mid-range. However, we recommend selecting the phone that fits your requirements and needs.

The iQOO 9 SE is a crackerjack offering at its price where the only place it lags behind is in terms of camera. The camera isn't terrible by any means and gets the job done for most. Apart from that, we can't argue about the iQOO 9 SE being one of the best options in its segment. iQOO, along with the iQOO 9 and 9 Pro, released an even more interesting device called iQOO 9 SE. On paper, it seems like an all-rounder smartphone with flagship specifications such as the Snapdragon 888, triple cameras, 66W fast charging, etc. What’s even more appealing is its starting price which is just Rs 33,990 for the 8GB + 128GB variant and Rs 37,990 for the top-of-the-line 12GB + 256GB trim. This also makes it one of the cheapest offerings in the country that have a Snapdragon 888 SoC. So is the iQOO 9 SE really able to stand up to its competitors such as the Realme GT 5G, OnePlus 9 RT and Asus 8Z or is it too good to be true? Let’s find out.
